Today sucks. 3 yo with the flu since Thursday has meant very little sleep. That on top of pregnancy ended with me throwing up in the parking lot of the public library today on my lunch break. This probably should have gone in the venting thread, but I just need like a 12 hour nap 😩
We planned our baby moon last night and I’m so excited! We haven’t been on a vacation since before Covid! Also we splurged a bit knowing this is going to be the last time we could do something like this for a while. We’re going to Jamaica in May and I can’t wait! 🥰🥰
I planned to tell my boss I’m pregnant when I hit 2nd tri, which is a week from today and I really don’t wanna. I feel like she has so much on her plate already that this is gonna stress her out, plus I’ve only been at this job since July. And then once she knows all my clients will find out and I hate talking about myself and fielding questions. Just want to enjoy this bliss where no one knows my business a little longer, but frankly I won’t be able to hide this belly much longer so I really just need to get it over with 😖

@coco2787 hugs! That’s how I feel about telling my extended family. Luckily I can hide a bit longer as nobody sees me. Hoping telling your boss goes smoothly
@coco2787 so I also was nervous about telling my boss, but she was extremely positive and very supportive when I told her the news (despite the timing not exactly being the best). Just wanted to share because I know how hard it is to deliver news in these situations. I'm really hoping it goes smoothly for you.
@and_peggy I took your advice from earlier. Trying to change my frame of thought. I bought baby boy some things from Carters. Also bought some onesies. 💙💙
@bridgiebee82 I like that it’s not super gendered. Just some cute blue tie dye and some sea animals. Not that I’m having more babies but still. Even though I will have to get at least ONE outfit with suspenders and a bow tie. Just oneeee lol
Hello, dimeadozen here. Reintroducing myself because I’m terrible and went into hiding for the first tri. Hoping to phase back into the group, if y’all will have me. I’ve been very creepily lurking so I’ve been following along.
@wigglyicecream and @bridgiebee82 thank y’all! As mentioned, I’ve been creeping everyday during rocking my youngest for nap and rocking her for bed and had the epiphany that if I just checked the threads during those two times it’d be a lot less overwhelming. Lol only took 12 weeks to come to that realization.
@dimeadozen it’s hard not to get sucked in. I think that’s a happy medium and you’ve made a lasting impression that I totally remember you. Good time as we have been discussing a move to a private group. Which I feel will be WAY less overwhelming when it happens
@wigglyicecream well, I’m glad! I tried to keep up there in the beginning so I’m glad I’m remembered!
I did see the discussions and saw that we’re probably waiting on the later ladies to reach the second tri so that gives me time to blend back in and show my worthiness haha
@tmartin014 Ugh, so sorry that you're holding down the fort while the house is sick. I feel like all shame goes out the window when you throw up in public - joys of pregnancy! Hope things start letting up for you soon! Are you taking anything to combat morning sickness or do you think you have the flu?
@wigglyicecream Glad to hear you got rescheduled earlier! Definitely be festive I also am glad you listened to the advice of the other ladies and bought those cute little onesies! Mom brain is SO difficult, especially in the first couple weeks. But (sorry I can't remember who said it) unfortunately anything can happen no matter if you're in early pregnancy or right before you give birth. So if it makes you happy, celebrate that little guy now!! He'll always be yours no matter if he's in your heart or your arms!
@shebazzlebaby Woah! what an awesome baby moon!! Super jealous!! Are you trying an all inclusive? Soak in the sun and no responsibilities for a few days!! How fun!
@coco2787 deciding when to tell people at work is such a debate, sorry you're juggling it. I say enjoy the bliss a little longer, especially if you're trying to be considerate of your boss' feelings. Being pregnant isn't the end of the world so you're not holding back this bad secret, especially if you plan to return when after maternity leave. I was discussing with my pregnancy with a previous boss a few years back. I told her I was nervous she'd be upset and she said when she employs a woman she understands that "life" is going to happen and she can't be upset at someone wanting to continue they're family - that she'll make due while the employee is on maternity leave and everyone will adjust... I thought that was a nice mindset, so maybe your boss will be that way!
@paytonpedro Man, is there just a nationwide bug going on right now? EVERYONE'S kids are sick it seems. A bug just hit our household last week and everyone finally recovered yesterday. Also, sometimes if the kids sound alive you just have to let them live and deal with the explosion later. lol. #pregnantlife
I also had another epiphany tonight. I opened the bump on two windows on my computer, side by side tonight. Left is the current thread and on the right I have my comment section. I always get overwhelmed having to respond, scroll all the way up to find someone else I want to reply to, then scroll back down to respond on mobile so this lets me freely scroll on the left side of the screen and write out all my comments on the right. Apparently I gained like 2 IQ points tonight. I don't know if that helps anyone, but wanted to share that web method!
@dimeadozen welcome back! I remember you from my days lurking before I felt like I could jump in. Glad you’re feeling better about your ability to manage it!
Okay I want to preface this by saying that this is in no way a comment towards anyone who may be naming a child at 20 years old. I’m sure you will pick something great. This is 100% a reflection of where *I* was back then.
But, I was just thinking back to what if I had been responsible for naming another human 15 years ago (when I was 20). It’s such a huge responsibility and I probably would have named them something terrible that they would have grown to hate me for. Probably something spelled in a super ridiculous way with extra letters for no good reason.
But then I’m like oh my gosh what if they hate the name I give them now! At 35! when I think I’m being a responsible namer! and then they hate me forever for it!
@itsme215 it’s a lot of pressure to name another human! I tell people all the time that it might sound silly but my kid has to live with my decision for the rest of their life! Lol I can’t curse them at birth.
Can we just take a moment to discuss the REAL emotions that come from these fake pregnancy dreams. I woke up at 4 this morning PISSED a DH. In my dream he was talking to a girl ‘Tiffany’ from work and he erased all their texts to hide it from me but I found out anyway. He works in a male dominated industry and only works with 2 women who are in their late 50s lol, neither named Tiffany.
