Re: Introductions
How did you find out: I was craving cottage cheese. There has only been one other time in my life that I have craved cottage cheese. You guessed it. I was pregnant.
My life: I’m 34 and DH is 36. I have a 13 year old daughter from my first marriage, a 7 year old step daughter, and a 5 year old step son. Apparently I just don’t “do” pregnancy with my peers, given how early I started with motherhood (21) and how big of a gap there was in between. This baby is certainly a surprise. I recently decided on a career change and I’ll be starting my last 3 months of law school in Feb. I’m in finals for fall semester right now. My husband is a civil engineer.
We love rather extreme outdoors adventuring. Husband is a mountain biker/skier/road cyclist/canyoneering guru and I love nothing more than a good solo backpacking trip. I also love traveling generally.
Symptoms:
I HAVE had
-a few weird cravings
-a few twinges in my uterus
-sore boobs, though not more than typical
I have not had anything else including being tired, headaches, mood swings, nausea
I contacted my provider, but I have not heard back yet in terms of a first appointment. That’s a very common (non) response because I go to my local VA hospital. This will be my first time using VA for pregnancy, so that could be... interesting.
I cannot wait to get to know you guys! I was a member of another due date club for my daughter and 13 years later we’re all still very close!
DH and I are both both 34 and have been married for 10 years. We have a 4 (almost 5) year old girl and a 2 (almost 3) year old boy. Both are January babies. I was somewhat active in the J16 board, and VERY active in the J18 board. My J18 moms and I still talk every single day, so I’m excited to form some new relationships here.
Lots of bloat and gas, mild cramping, sore nips, and I have been SO tired this week. I have needed long naps the last few days and I am NOT a napper! I haven’t made my first appointment yet, but plan on calling on Monday to set it up. I’ll probably get in for an US pretty early since I am considered high risk (I have a carnitine deficiency and have to be closely monitored...LOTS of ultrasounds and NST’s towards the end).
> @jaxbl welcome! We may be due date twins! Also, I’m in the legal field and my husband is an engineer. 🙂
Aww what are the odds? Kismet.
This is my 7th child, my oldest through foster to adoption is 19 and has flown the nest and killing it at college. My earthside bio kids are almost 12, 9, 7, 4, and almost 2.
I am a former professional photographer, am now an herbalist and midwifery student. My husband is a pastor (though we are currently in transition.) We live in Northern New England in a tiny house, with our pit/lab mix and two kitties.
I am a home birth momma and my own midwife will be on maternity leave any day, so my first appointment won't be until late winter.
My symptoms are quite a bit this time around. I usually am not sick until about 8 weeks but it has started essentially right away this time.

I'm excited to get to you all of you and wishing everyone the best!
It's so true. I always expect bad news. We've probably gotten more good test results than bad at this point but that feeling hasn't left me yet. I wonder if it ever will honestly. I hope your wife is doing well now!!
I could tell stories for days. My wife's cancer was also pretty insane, most BC patients are way older so that along makes her a high chance for recurrence and then also her tumor was insanely huge, 12cm, and had spread to lymph nodes. She also had surgery and they left some cancer behind so she had to have them redo her surgery. So she's completely flat now, all lymphs gone on one side, ovaries removed (since her cancer is hormone driven) plus high doses of radiation and chemo. If it comes back at least we know we did everything possible and more. But yeah, you're always worrying about every little cough. This insta has a lot of funny young survivor memes that help me feel less alone. Mostly I worry about raising our kids by myself but I've gotten into a mindset of thinking enjoy what we have and if it happens I'll manage eventually and we have to live our lives. I feel a lot better she's made it two years (in another week) because she had some super high chance of recurrence that I try not to think about. Cancer is a big TW. And my mother in law and another family member passed of it (lung and stomach cancer probably, they actually never figured it out) as well and I helped both of them with their care, so I'm unfortunately an expert. Having a baby is the best FU to cancer ever though!
I wish I had better advice for getting through the "what if I end up alone" thing. The only thing I've always reminded myself of was, nothing is promised to anyone. I could walk outside and get hit by a bus and Col would end up alone. That's morbid.. but it's true. It's not promised to anyone. We can't worry about every little thing forever. Sometimes that helped. I am really glad COVID wasn't a thing back in 2016 though, I'll say that.

How did you find out?
I’m an information hoarder by nature so I started testing 8 dpo and got my first positive test on day 9. I’ve been testing daily to track hcg progression with the lines darkening and someone needs to tell me when to stop haha
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
This is my first child, my husband and I are in our late 20’s and have been together for 10 years. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and my sister also lives with us, which I anticipate will be incredibly helpful the first few months.
My husband and I are pretty chill - I work in leadership at a fast paced start up so most of my time is spent overworking and decompressing from overworking 😂 I definitely want to spend the next 9 months figuring out what will be the new normal. We love board games, movie nights, reading, nights hanging out with our friends.
First appointment? Any symptoms?
First appointment is 01/06/2021. Symptom wise I’m having fatigue, runny nose, vivid dreams, some occasional light nausea, and fatigue. So far no morning sickness or sore breasts, which I probably should be grateful for but really am just feeling anxious something isn’t right.
Excited to connect with everyone more and follow along with all of the incredible journeys following a similar timeline to mine 🥰 thanks for reading if you made it this far!
Probably 8/23 (my mil's birthday) my dates are pretty accurate this time, but they were WAY off with my last two.
I was really nauseous and my PPA disappeared in like a day, so I decided a pregnancy test was warranted. Lol first test was... inconclusive, second test was not.
Three kiddos, my oldest boy is 5, my girl is 3, and and younger boy will be 2 next month. I'm a licensed real estate agent but not currently working. I've been pregnant, breastfeeding, or both since getting pregnant with my oldest 6 years ago. I recently started reading again. Other than that, I don't really do anything except homeschool my kindergartener and preschooler. Lol My husband is awesome, he runs his own business and does everything to support our family financially so that I could leave my job and go back to being a SAHM.
Not scheduled yet. I'll probably give it a week before I call to schedule. My nipples are burning! Breastfeeding my youngest is so uncomfortable! Nausea like crazy, and good symptom, my postpartum anxiety just disappeared overnight. So at least theres that. Haha

How did you find out?
I’m an information hoarder by nature, so I started POAS 8 DPO and got my first positive on 9 DPO. I’m still testing every few days to track the darker line for hcg level increasing - someone needs to tell me when to stop 😂

This is the first pregnancy for my husband and I. We’re in our late 20s and have been together for 10 years. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. My sister also lives with us, which I anticipate will be super helpful in the beginning months.
I work in leadership at a fast paced start up, so I spend most of my free time working or decompressing from working lol. I am definitely going to need to spend some time preparing for a new normal once baby comes.
My husband and I are pretty chill, we like to read, watch movies, play board games, play video games, and hang out with our friends on evenings and weekends. We’re moderate “outdoors” people in that we love to be outside but don’t do it as often as we’d like!
First appointment? Any symptoms?
My first appointment is 01/06/2021 and I’m having a hard time deciding whether to tell family and Christmas or not since it’s still so early. I am leaning toward yes, as we’ll want support either way in these early days, but wish I’d at least get to hear the heartbeat before then.
Symptom wise - fatigue, vivid dreams, a runny nose, headaches. I haven’t really had any morning sickness or sore breasts (yet) and should probably be grateful but am mostly just nervous something may be wrong.
Thanks for reading it you’ve made it this far! Overall I’m excited to be here and follow along on these amazing journeys with other moms on a similar timeline!
I took a test 3 days before my missed period and got a faint line. We weren’t really trying but we’re kind of thinking of a third so it’s unexpected but not a complete shock.
my main symptom for the last few days has been fatigue. I’ve been so tired by Early evening. I’ve also had a little bit of nausea especially if I haven’t eaten for a while. I’m also just very bloated already and my pants are uncomfortable.
My H and I have been together/married for 12+ years. We have a DD that is 6, 2 German Shepherds, 6 chickens and will be adding a greenhouse and goats this spring. We’ve been dealing with secondary infertility for almost 5 years. I’ve turned into a little farmer since we moved to our mountain home. I love listening to true crime podcasts.
I have a call in for my first appointment. I will be seeing a MFM because of a clotting disorder and blood thinners. Last time I was seen at 6 weeks so I’m betting the same this time around. I’ll be insisting on being seen every 2 weeks until I’m past my mmc gestation date.
TW
I had a chemical in September and 2 later losses between my 2 girls so I'm hoping this one is a fighter and that we caught an egg that isn't too old and moldy...
End TW
I haven't made an appointment yet, but I'm hoping I'll be able to do it by phone. I'll likely call on Monday. Only symptoms are nausea and sore boobs.
Off to read through all the other intros...
