Re: Introductions
My wife and I have DD (I carried her via IUI), aged 4 and a cat. DW is a college professor and I work in tech. DD has the same donor as the one we're expecting.
Symptoms - Just a crazy sense of smell and my boobs hurt. Started decorating our tree today and I couldn't stand the smell of some ribbon in our Christmas box.
Due date? August 1st
I am a therapist working in private practice. MH works in tech. We have 4 fur babies who keep us pretty busy right now.
Any symptoms? Sore boobs, mild cramps, increased sense of smell, some nausea, mood swings. I'm sure the PIO I'm on isn't helping!
We have a 4 year old daughter. Four Border Collies. I am a nurse and spent most of my career in long term care but since the fall I have been interviewing healthcare workers exposed to COVID and monitoring them, so I get to work from home while I work on my BSN.
I show my dogs. I've done conformation, agility, obedience, and rally and there's a ton more I'd like to do. Lately been focusing on herding because that is pretty COVID friendly.
My husband is a high school English teacher and we live in MN.

@shoogapoff OMG the PIO is the worst. I tried a shot in my leg and couldn't walk for two days. I found this great video about backside shot placement though and since then it's been much better. Excited to have another IVFer too! Congrats on getting your positive. Totally get it not feeling like it's real. DD took 2 AI and 7 IUI and I was mega stressed for most of the pregnancy thinking I wouldn't possibly get a baby at the end of it. I'm excited for you! I have my second beta on Sunday but I'm not really concerned, I'm feeling zen this time. My first ultrasound will be in two weeks but you can't see anything much at that one.
Also want to say my friends from my first BMB are my best friends and we still talk daily, so I'm looking forward to the relationships that will develop here!

What kind of crafts do you like to do? I crochet, but no sewing for me!
According to the calculators between August 2nd-4th but my 2 others I have been induced early due to being high risk. So it will probably be July.
A couple of days ago, I started crying when I saw a positive hpt on TV. I have been having weird dreams and I have been so hot while sleeping. Yesterday I had (TMI) bad constipation. Apparently I also have implementation cramps but I thought my period was coming.
So I took the test this morning and was shocked to see the postive. Haven't told my DH yet.
I have a DD who is 8 and after 4 years of secondary infertility, we finally had our rainbow baby. My DS just turned 2. I am in my 40s and my last pregnancy was hard so we didn't think we were going for a 3rd. However, I recently lost 35 pounds by cutting out carbs and sugar and I guess that was the magic bullet. To be honest, I am freaking out a little.
Just a little bit more about me, I am a teacher. We also have 2 dogs and my husband is in the law enforcement field.
I will be calling the doctor on Monday because I need to get on progesterone. I have had to take it on each pregnancy.
Due date: Aug 6
How did I find out: Had an inkling because I kept waking up in thr middle of the night to pee. Tested 3 days before AF.
We're in Nova Scotia, have a big fluffy 3yo bernedoodle. I'm 31 and SO is 33. Big fans of Netflix. I'm about to finish up a grape growing and wine making program, so I'll be hopefully working in a vineyard up until the due date.

I'll call for an appointment Monday. We had a D&E at 17 weeks this summer, so I expect to be in around 11 or 12 weeks for an ultrasound to check in. Also Rh-! We do fewer tests in Canada than the states and appointments are less frequent.
@TCUFrog08 sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been a rough few months.
Just some anxiety for now, and peeing a lot. I'll expect nausea to start around 7 weeks👎
I am calling on Monday to schedule my apt! Ive waited a few days because I had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago... Hoping everything goes well with this one!
Due date? EDD is August 6th based on my LMP
I look forward to getting to know you all
@doodlemom131That makes more sense to me honestly, I had a ton of monitoring last time cause of my cyst and you couldn't see much until week 12's ultrasound anyway! That was my favorite one, baby was the right size to look like a baby but small enough to see her all on the printout.
A lot of cramping and bloating so far. Just hoping for the best for us all. Congrats to all of you. I was active here for a long time before my first so hoping to make a lot of new friends.
@safire3 Its great to see another IVFer! Going through IF treatment has already brought up some unique issues for me in pregnancy. I'm trying to stay positive and trust that just because everything has been hard to this point doesn't mean things will stay that way.
@ashkel215 5 cats sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm sure it gets chaotic.
@kding I'm sorry to hear about your chemical. I hope you are able to relax with this pregnancy.
I’m 30. I’m an occupational therapist working in inpatient rehab, primarily with post-stroke/neuro patients. I have a speciality cert in post-stroke care. I also run a small side biz making custom crayons, so I’ve been pretty busy the last month on holiday orders. It’s been helpful since my husband was laid off over the summer due to COVID cuts. Sigh. I’m recently re-married and I have 3 kids 1B/2G (almost 2, 4, and almost 10) from my first marriage and I have 2 bonus boys (6/10) from my husbands first marriage, so this is #6 between the two of us. We don’t have any pets, the kids keep us busy enough, lol. I enjoy trivia/word puzzles, reading, and spending time with my family. I work a lot so I don’t have a ton of time for other hobbies these days outside of late night online shopping and now spending too much time on here probably.
I haven’t called my doc yet but maybe will next week. This is my 5th pregnancy, my youngest was my rainbow, so I don’t expect to be seen anytime soon. I have super fatigue, but I’ve also had to cold quit taking my ADHD medication, which I’m sure contributes to that. Also sore breasts, which is about par for the course for me.
Excited to be here. This will be our last baby so trying to enjoy it all instead of spending every minute worrying about something!
I found out a few days later than with other pregnancies as I was in a bit of denial. We use natural family planning and we tried for over a year to get our daughter. Husband is on TRT which is pretty much male birth control too, so who knows. 🤷♀️ Sent him to the store for a triple pack of FRER and the first one was undeniably positive. Had labs done yesterday and hcg is 1800. Progesterone on the low side so they are supplementing. I had to do this with my daughter and she is here and healthy. Fingers crossed it goes the same way.
We live in Texas on a few acres. We have chickens, a Great Pyrenees, 2 cats and a bearded dragon. Our kids are 18,15,10,8,1. So basically I've been raising babies for 20 years. This is an insane thing to do. Don't try this at home.
If hcg doubles by tomorrow they asked me to make an appointment for 8 weeks. Pretty worried about tomorrow, but I have no control.
Looking forward to getting to know you all. Congratulations everyone!
I'm amused by my positive test because my husband and I literally have an appointment with a specialist for infertility next week (we had tried for 12 months and no luck) and this morning I got a positive test.... Lol. Such is life, right?
If this one pans out, I'll be due August 9th. I have none of the symptoms I had with my ectopic so fingers crossed!
As for me, I'm a teacher (which means August is the worst month to be due in, right before school starts!) And have a dog that we love and is too smart for her own good.
Got my HCG done today and I'll get it again on Friday so here's hoping! Also, I'm starting to feal a bit queazy but it's unclear if that isy anxiety or the pregnancy lol!
