And hopefully we can keep this thread more normal.
Not that life is normal at all for some of it.
e"learning for my preschooler is hilarious and only sorta working. But trying to keep kids occupied while my husband works from home is a challenge.
Trying to do at least most educational screen time with them. Being up and around all day yesterday trying to do more engaging tasks left me unable to sleep well due to pelvis pain.
But later we have a kindergarten teacher doing a sing and dance along, an at home safari from Cincinnati Zoo, and my local yoga studio put up a mini toddler yoga session! then hopefully just free play until daddy is off work!
I think my 18 month old is learning more than my 3.5 year old. He already knows so much and doesn't like to dance along with videos. But, I got an old phone up and running with some letter and numbers games and big kid is learning how to use a touch screen. Also signed up for free abc Mouse and teaching him how to use the mouse on my computer for that.
Because I'm lame and have never let him try this stuff before.

Tomorrow probably less screen time, unless it's toddler yoga and HE'LL get up and participate instead of just watching like a slug.
Hopefully by mid-next week we'll have figured out how to better balance our days and get into a better routine.
Or we'll take 3 days off all screens. That happens here some times just to reset his whiny screen obsessed self.

Kids actually seemed to sleep right after we put them to bed, so fingers crossed that tomorrow will be easier!
And then we're on spring break, so our routine will get a bit lost. Hoping some lie yoga videos tomorrow and an obstacle course made in our basement helps too.

We continue to make slow progress on DS1's big boy room, which means someday soon I'll get to actually set up the nursery for a baby again. I was hoping to do a deep clean but that probably won't happen. I washed a bunch of hand-me-downs for both boys, and need to fold and sort them today. Getting out teeny baby clothes again makes this new kid feel real. I haven't had a chance to really enjoy waiting for this new baby between toddler parenting, GD, and The Global Pandemic ... So I hope he doesn't come out with a huge list of second child grievances already prepared.
I started a baby quilt for my brother's first kid (due in October). All the other first kids got something pieced and then quilted but my sewing space is currently 6" wider than my machine and literally in my closet so he's getting a Winnie the Pooh panel, flannel backing, batting scraps pieced together, and whatever I can find for binding fabric that doesn't require me to upend my house.
@pourmeanothermocktail so glad baby shifted for you!

I'm not sure my body is going to hold up to all day toddler care all the time, no breaks. I have tiny-elbows sized bruises everywhere.
I've gotta find 6 work from home hours today in addition to being full time mom, and managing GD. Bedtime seems so far away and we've only been up for 4 hrs so far.
diaper changing pad and 1 cover, ivory snow laundry detergent so I can start washing things, a safety/grooming kit, 6 burp cloths, a diaper genie and a diaper bag. Already purchased a stroller a while ago on sale, a basinet stand and a FP swing, 10-15 outfits, a glider, baby scale and breast feeding pillow. Friends and family have also leant/given me: bouncer chair, bucket seat, bathtub with newborn insert, a big bag of clothes, a basinet with 4 sheets, lots of different swaddles, a breast feeding cover and an excersaucer. Plus for freebies I got a bunch of NB diapers and wipes and 1 bottle. Now that i listed it all out I have a lot more than I thought. So that makes me feel better! Just no real progress on the room
except for doing a vision board. Looked into wallpaper but too expensive so I might just get some wall stick on decals from Amazon.
Also I hope you can get your baby shower. I'm so sorry for all you ftms ❤️

@kyrwyn do you like using the CSA program? I know this is your first box but it sounded like maybe you’d done it before and had stopped for a while in a previous post? I’m just curious because we’ve looked into and never ended up doing so!
At what point do we start talking about a move to a private group or Facebook? We’re getting closer and, with everything that’s going on, I’m starting to feel more careful about what I put on a public forum that’s more specific to me. I’ve never shared my state for example, because I’m still conscious that anyone can see the bump. Just wondering if anyone else was thinking about it yet too.

This particular farm is very flexible. You can order week by week, take a break if you need to, and choose pay in advance (then you get 10 boxes for the price of 9). If you refer your neighbors or friends, they give you extras in your box or an occasional free box. They have two different box sizes (we get a half box, which runs about $35) and while they don't come all the way into my neighborhood, they meet me 10 min from my house. Last pregnancy, they also let me say "no kale!" (my aversion) and would give me extra brussels sprouts, which were my favorite in 3rd tri. It's flat out the best CSA on price and flexibility that I've looked into, but you get what you get and some people like to be more choosy.
I grew up cooking with my mom when we were pretty poor, and so we always ended up using whatever produce was in season (cheapest), so the mystery of what to do with a box full of weird veggies doesn't really phase me. At this time of year, there's a good mix of veggies and a bunch of citrus (not great for GD, but my DS and DH like it and it's easy to regift). I'm adding a picture of this week's box, but we got: a head of red leaf lettuce, half a head of celery, a boy choy, a small cabbage, 5 turnips, 2 zucchini, a bunch of radishes, kale, rainbow chard, a pomelo, an avocado, a lunch bag full of kumquats and blood oranges, one of juicing oranges, and one of tangerines (plus two lemons).
Our early start on meal planning: I started a pot of curried lentils with lemon for dinner using part of the celery and the turnip greens, a lemon, plus stuff I had in the fridge & pantry. We're having that, salmon from the freezer, and the bok choy for dinner. DH wants corned beef and cabbage next week, along with colcannon -- which, in my family, is mashed potatoes with tons of butter and whatever greens we've got (may not be traditional colcannon), so the chard and some kale will go into that. I had tuna salad at lunch with chopped celery and radish for crunch, and used a couple lettuce leaves to bulk it up into a meal. My 2 yr old, who previously hated citrus, has declared tangerines as "farmer friend fruit DELICIOUS" and requested more, and then another one after nap, so I think we'll be okay there too.
