Thanks! @ziggymama06 Mostly it was really fine, but by the end it just turned into a nightmare. LSS, I was stuck with a very complex case (and difficult to work with client) when they knew I was trying to get out in time to pick DD up from school before they closed. And being her last day, I really wanted to be the one to pick her up. But it didn't go down like that.
Luckily DH was close enough to come get her in his work truck, but then they were stranded in the parking lot with no carseat for AN HOUR before I could get there. 🤦 So if anything, it just reinforced for me why it was time to go.
The only downside is, so far the paperwork we got back from MIL's doctor is.... Not what we need. Which is discouraging, but we are going to try again, and I'm going to talk to MetLife today to hammer out a few more details.
@BusinessWife Oh wow, I'm sorry they stuck you with that on your last day! I was hoping to hear that they let you leave early because there was no work for you since it's your last day! But that is true that it only made you realize all the more that you don't need to deal with that. I'm sorry for the stressful last day, but now you never need to look back! What an amazing feeling that must be! Enjoy it! I hope things go smoothly now with your MIL's paperwork and that doesn't turn into too much of a hassle.

Anyone else nesting like crazy already? I’ve run out of things to clean and organize so I’m cleaning out my fridge and oven today.
Last week I cleaned out all the closets in our house and donated 6 bags of crap. And I also went through 10 bins of baby/toddler clothes and organized by sized and got rid of outdated/stained outfits.
@ziggymama06 Thanks, yeah if they had handled things a bit differently I might be entertaining thoughts about maybe I could return but.... At this point I won't worry about it! Lol 🎉
@tyrion_ that sounds awesome! You can come to my house next! Lol But seriously, I have started feeling excited about helping DD make some of her important transitions before this baby gets here. I'll have to start pulling her 18m clothes and putting away all the smaller sizes finally, that have just been sitting in the closet. DH might be nesting too though; we just did an amazing pantry run, and I know he feels better about having lots of food on hand. ;)
I bought our new crib over the weekend! We had to throwaway DS because he is apparently part beaver and was eating chunks off the bars... This time around we got a super cute metal crib and changing table with a 20% off coupon!
No, but come on over @tyrion_ ! I have lots you can nest for us 😅
I am excited though because we are finally getting our living room and kitchen painted this week. We have vaulted ceilings so we've put off painting since it will be so pricy. Right now the area is yellow which we dislike. We picked a blue-ish grey color so I'm really hoping we love it.
@mrswheeler812 yay on the new crib! I picked up the Guava from a friend and now just need to order the bassinet attachment.

@tyrion_ YES! My husband built me a closet system for the hall closet and I got stuff in there yesterday during nap time. I'm going to pick up some storage baskets after work today. I'm all about the organization lately.
So I spoke too soon yesterday. Woke up today to two gifts having been left on my front porch to my kids.
I don't understand why my husbands family doesn't understand the word NO. Like we clearly say No to a specific thing or situation or idea. And they all still do whatever it is we said No to towards our kids. I just don't understand why the word no is such a hard concept for his entire family to grasp. I also have no clue when they were left. Dh didn't see them on his way out to work and while taking the trash out.
I think maybe I should just take a break from online. Life is getting harder right now. We found a lump on Dh's scrotum. So now we are going tomorrow to find out what it is. I'm terrified it may be cancer. Of course we have googled other possible causes but this is still scary. I feel like all I bring right now is negativity and the last 2 weeks just seems to be a constant wave of bad things happening. If I disappear for awhile its to try to get my mental health under control.
@tyrion_ me! I have been working on cleaning my sons room and his closets out since hes going to be sharing a room with this baby. I have also cleaned my daughters room out. I have decluttered so far one trunk full of stuff and took 2 bags of clothes to once upon a child for trade in for baby boy stuff. My goal is as a amazon box comes into my house or any box like a pulls ups box. I'm trying to declutter enough stuff to fit that one box. Try to do this a little each day.

I want to sort all our baby clothes. I've had them sorted by size in the past in plastic bags in a big tote. But it's all gotten jumbled. So I just had to dig through EVERYTHING when I sized D2 up this weekend.
In other news, I'm done pumping. And D2 is officially off all bottles. I'm a little sad. I'm so happy to be done pumping, but if she would have been able to nurse, I would have gone further into this pregnancy. I think there are benefits to extended breastfeeding. But, it is what it is. I was down to getting maybe 3 oz a day. And she seems to be doing fine with all solids now.
@tyrion_ I'm in total nesting mode too! My parents have been so helpful in tackling my list that I might have to add some more projects 😂
STM+, is there anything you recommend doing in the next few months vs putting of until end? Mytowards the hope is to have most things done by early-mid June so that I'm ready and can try to relax a little bit.
@tyrion_ that's amazing. I'm just getting my energy back a little bit so I haven't started doing anything. BUT I did clean and sort all DS's baby clothes by size and box them as he out grew them. We should have about 6 diaper boxes of clothes in the attic for the next baby.
I am not feeling well, considering going somewhere to check my BP even if its just to rule it out. I am an appointment tomorrow already though.
Finally made 2nd trimester yesterday! I am the last of the Mohicans (8/30 due date) so we finally all made it.
STM DS (June 18 BMB vet) Married Aug 2016 Me 30 / DH 34 CS scheduled 7/26-8/12 Due 8/30
yup I’m totally nesting, but I’m also still so tired that I poop out before I can completely finish a project lol. We had visitors this weekend and it was a lot of fun, but I ended up needing more than 10 hrs sleep last night to recover from what I would consider a normal level of activity. It was so nice having extra adults to chase after the LO though!
My nesting at the moment is just trying to keep the house in some semblance of order while we're having the building work done. Though I did sort out DS clothes about 6w ago and sorted each size into a different vacuum bags to store under the bed.
I am so jealous of you nesters! My kids, husband, and animals destroy our house constantly. Everything I do to get ahead is undone almost immediately, so I'm barely treading water with the day-to-day over here.
@psychobutthead We're always here to vent to, if you need us! I hope things start to look up soon.
I am not sure if y'all saw the symptoms thread, but I started having menstrual cramps yesterday with contractions, and today they started up again. I ended up getting worked in at my dr to check my cervix. I had a surprise u/s too. Baby is great and cervix is long and closed (thank God). I do have a history of preterm labor, but never this early. I ended up getting lab work to check my liver enzymes since I've been having right upper quadrant pain. So, for now, we dont have an explanation for the cramps or contractions, just try to take it easy. We will see what lab work says.
As a funny story, my u/s tech managed to get a face shot and quickly captured it. She said it may be the only one we get, and it's true. Ds1 and ds1 were awful about showing their faces.
@wildrainbow Thank GOODNESS everything is okay! I'm glad you went in to get checked just in case, and that's awesome you got a great ultrasound shot, too!
@BusinessWife I’m sorry that your last day of work and the paperwork for your MIL didn’t turn out as expected. Hoping you get it sorted out soon!
@tyrion_ I’m doing a lot of nesting in my mind but very little in reality lol. DH installed a couple of ceiling fans and will be installing a couple more in the new baby’s bedroom and the playroom. Otherwise we are just trying to keep up!
@psychobutthead I’m sorry your ILs don’t respect your boundaries. Totally understandable to take a break from the internet. It’s been a particularly stressful couple of weeks in the world.
@wildrainbow The uncertainty around your symptoms sounds really stressful. I hope you get some answers soon and I’m so glad your baby is doing well.
I announced my pregnancy to my team at work and on social media today. My team was really sweet and most were surprised, although one said she had suspected because my hair has been super thick and wild lately 😂. It feels really good to have the encouragement and finally not have to worry about hiding it.
@psychobutthead Thinking of you! Sorry you've had a wave of bad luck recently. Always here to listen if you need us.
@wildrainbow I'm glad baby is doing well! The surprise ultrasound sounds nice! Fingers crossed your doctors figure out the cause of the cramps and it isn't anything too major.
@gomillis How nice to finally be able to talk freely about your pregnancy without any hiding! I'm almost there. I probably won't post on social media until after my next ultrasound around 20 weeks but after my 16 week appointment I'm going to be more willing to make it common knowledge at work.
@gomillis Reminded me we went “live” with this pregnancy on social media. I hadn’t planned to and really I wanted to wait until after the anatomy scan but it seemed serendipitous. I took a picture with my half marathon medal that was rainbow colored and posted the picture with the caption “Celebrating 17 weeks with my 17th half marathon.” Simple and to the point.
wildrainbow I'm happy to hear that things are going well with baby are going well so far. I could only imagine how scary that would be to have contraction like pain so early in the pregnancy. Hopefully some rest has helped you. @psychobutthead I'm sorry that you are having such a rough time. Sometimes a break from all of the extra stuff in life truly does make a difference. But we are always hear to listen if whenever you need it. @gomillis I don't know how you have hid it for so long! But I know it must be freeing to having everyone know. @tyrion_ we have nested a little bit, mainly in the basement. We got rid of 1.5 tots of stuff, mainly my husband stuff. So I'm happy about that. A lot of our baby items are at different family members homes, so I need to make some trips in the near future. I most likely won't start doing my daughters room until around 24 weeks. We need to clean out her closet to put the dresser in there and then put the crib where the dresser is. I'm looking forward to doing that.

Right now we have girl clothes from nb-6x. We are going to paint a dresser and swap it with the one in DD1 room since hers currently is changing table height. I’m not especially looking forward to reorganizing all those clothes but fortunately I’ll be off work starting in June so it can wait for a bit longer.
@psychobutthead I’m sorry things are stressful right now take care of your self.
@wildrainbow I hope you have no more episodes of that!
@BusinessWife congrats on your last day! Sorry it was a mess!
I’m fairly certain I have the flu 😷 I was supposed to have an OB appointment today but I canceled. Headed to the regular doc once I can get up and semi presentable.
@tyrion_ every weekend I have various things I want to accomplish to get the house ready... then the weekend comes and nothing gets accomplished the next two weekends I WILL accomplish stuff because we are having people over for a brunch in three weekends to announce to some people... so I will get organized by then! Also your announcement sounds very cute.
@wildrainbow that sounds scary... glad you were able to be seen!
I know TB is always buggy, but has it been extra buggy for anyone lately? mobile browser... won't load. personal laptop... won't load. app... has never loaded for me. The only browser it seems to work on? Internet explorer on my work computer. Any other computer/browser it wont work on
Oh no! @WishesSheCouldCook sorry you're not feeling well. Fx it's not the flu and you are up and running soon.
I don't have an excuse really, just slow getting going today. I think we were still rebounding from the busy weekend, and then last night turned into a sh--show. (I crashed upstairs with DD, while DH crashed on the couch, and then I got up at 1AM to clean up the kitchen. Good times!). But I'm so looking forward to visiting our mommy group again!!! 🤗🤗🤗 DD is enjoying a brief tub while I figure out WTH to wear ...
@tyrion_ What a perfect announcement!! I wish I was nesting... I'm still so tired. And since we are looking to move before baby arrives, I can't nest yet. I can get my house ready to sell, but that is just exhausting. But did make it to Home Depot last night to get bins to store all my non-pg clothes and knickknacks around the house...
@wildrainbow Great news! Glad everything went well and you were able to see your beautiful little boy!
@gomillis Congrats on announcing!! You must be a bit relieved to have everyone know now. How did you announce on social media? Feel free to share your pic if you like.
@fitandnerdy I cannot get into TB on my phone. I tried on my tablet last night (through the website not app) and it took forever to open one thread that I gave up. I can only get into the site on my desktop.
@BusinessWife I can't believe you get up at 1am to clean the kitchen
MH and I are getting our taxes done today and going out to eat so we don't need to bother cooking. The local pub near us does bogo burgers on Tuesdays. I've been really craving meat, specifically red meat, the past two weeks or so... which I find so odd. I usually could eat a steak like twice a year and take or leave a burger... Now it's like I need it. Anyone else experiencing this? I was expecting to have an aversion to meat...

@wildrainbow Thankful for the reassuring visit and hope you get even more explanations in coming days!
@fitandnerdy I only use TB on browser, but a week or two ago it was so. slow. loading anything and I just gave up. It seems to have resolved itself, so hope your issues correct too.
@gomillis I feel like dressing takes me half the time now that work knows about the pregnancy! Congrats. I'm glad all were supportive (and lol at your hair giving you away)
@BusinessWife Hope the meet-up today is great! Any other preggos in your crew?
@WishesSheCouldCook Hope it's not the flu, but I also know "unexplained extreme crappy feeling" is a frustrating diagnosis. Whatever else it may be, let it be short-lived.
Hope everyone in Super Tuesday states gets out and votes today!! I got a workout in this morning (woop. that's 2 days in a row which has probably not happened in months) so looking forward to vegging on the couch this evening and watching all the results come in. Maybe we'll get burgers (thanks @ziggymama06 for influencing me ).
@WishesSheCouldCook I really hope you don't have the flu and recover quickly! Take it easy mama.
@emiliadkay It's the least I could do for turning me onto breakfast tacos And go you working out two mornings in a row!! Can you pass along some of your energy?! I was pleased with myself for making green smoothies for two days

@WishesSheCouldCook I hope it's not the flu because the flu SUCKS this year. But I know it being the flu may be easier to deal with than "sorry about your random crappy cold." Good call on hitting up your regular doctor and skipping the OB. You're a good person, not everyone would make that choice. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a painless rapid flu test.
Tomorrow is MH's birthday. He doesn't like his birthday, he's got some hang ups about his birthday (long complicated his parents were forced into marriage at a young age because he happened guilt) but I'm hoping tomorrow I can coax him out for an "unrelated dinner to your favorite place" evening. He's feeling a little lonely and missing some of our friends from "back home" right now and I really am hoping a night out might cheer him up.
I'm nesting in the sense that I've been deep cleaning more than usual on the weekends.. But H is REALLY nesting. He has been re-organizing closets and buying things to help with organization. It's great!
@emiliadkay omg, Yes! like, all of them! LOL one girl won't be coming today because she's not feeling great due to pregnancy symptoms, another one just had her anatomy scan and it's expecting her second boy, there are some other preggos in our group that don't necessarily come to the Tuesday meet up. Like I can think of four more off hand LOL. It's
Guys, hit me with your low fat but good protein salad mix ins. I'm a bell pepper, cucumber, and radish on spinach kind of girl but I am getting bored and lazy so what can I pick up that will be easy to throw in my pre washed bagged salad?
@Redbaramid do you like chickpeas? Roasted specifically add a nice crunch. (You can buy them roasted but if you want to go the cheap route buy a can and throw them in the oven @ 400 with oil/seasoning of choice for 20-30 mins).
ETA: Hemp hearts! High protein, rich in omega 3 & 6, good source of iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium. If you haven't had them they are like a seed. Don't have much for flavor kind of nutty I guess. But super easy to add to salads, smoothies, pb toast, really anything!
@RedBaramid If you like seeds you can add in sunflower, chia, pumpkin. Are you a fruit in salad person? Strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, mandarins? Protein could be a bean like garbanzo or a scoop of hummus if you don't have/eat chicken, etc. Throw in some cheese.
ETA quinoa is also great.
Me: 33 DH: 36 Dating 4/2008 Married 6/2016 TTC #1 9/2019 BFP 12/13/2019! EDD 8/27/2020 Baby Girl
So the test showed negative for flu but the dr wasn’t convinced based on the sudden onset of symptoms and fever. He gave me tamilfu now we just hope no one else gets it.
@RedBaramid I can't remember if you're vegetarian, but frozen chicken strips are the laziest, easiest lowfat protein add if not. I love hard boiled egg on salads, and also pumpkin seeds, quinoa, all kinds of beans as others have already suggested.
