Re: January Randoms

  • @kerco925 oh no!! I’m sorry! I hope the meds work fast.

@runwmusic DD has had it THREE times and the first was definitely the worst. She was so pitiful. And then DH got it and literally had a 104 fever for two days straight. I’m hoping you escape it!! For DD it lasted around 5 days the first time (but she wasn’t super sick the whole time) and then a couple of days the other two times. Also- still confused why it wasn’t a thing when I was a kid! So sorry you’re dealing with it. It sucks

Ds has hand foot mouth disease. This is by far the worst thing I've had to deal with since becoming a parent. No one got any sleep last night and today isn't showing signs of being any better. Dr said it can take up to TEN DAYS to get better. Worst sickness ever.
Ew, sorry. We went through that once. And I got it too. The first two days were Tim worst for kiddo, but I think I had a harder time. It was a week before I could use my hands without pain. I would rather chicken pox 3 times than HFM once. I wish there were a vaccine.

@kerco925 Also no fun. I hope your feelings are more anxiety or stress based and not you getting sick too.

I hope everyone gets healthy soon!

AFM- I'm doing a virtual happy dance (because my broken self can't actually dance, lol) today because we picked a name last night. We managed to find a name we both like for either sex, and I think it will stick. Middle names aren't hard for us, so that can wait a little. We don't share names until after birth, but I'm glad we're 90% done-our last was 3 days old before we figured it out and that was stressful. You can't file for birth certificate without a name, lol, and you can't file for insurance without name on paperwork.

  • @chaos-and-coffee Lol, you've hit the nail on the head. I'm very nervous about chasing my 3 once Squid is mobile. I'm thinking kid leashes in public when I'm on my own-at least for the middle who'll be 2 when we get there.

  • @hayhay2501 three times?!? Oh man that is awful!

@pourmeanothermocktail shingles was bad but not near what he's going through. He is so so so miserable. Can only sleep about 15 minutes at a time before he wakes up in pain. The absolute worst.
  • We had such a fantastic day. It got up to the 70s here today which it sometimes does in early February, but its suppose to be cold and gloomy again tomorrow. Met ILs at Sutter's Fort (our city had free museum day what a great event!) And walked around for a few hours and then ILs had brought a picnic lunch. Ds had the best time and was so good. Then we did a Costco run to stock up. Home for late naps. Dh is a saint and told me to put L down and then lie down myself. He's putting our groceries away.

I'm feeling so much better today. I ened up getting a sub yesterday because my stomach was a mess. And Wednesday and Thursday I felt like I was half asleep all day so I knew something had to give. I'm pretty sure my tummy troubles were from the Gelusil I'm taking for heartburn since its magnesium based and too much can cause tummy troubles. I think it's time to switch to Zantac. But at least my tummy was good today so that I got to enjoy the day with my family.

Also it's so nice out we opened up the house. Loving the fresh air!

  • @ErikandAfton Glad you had such a nice day, and hopefully you've figured out for stomach issues!

We haven't seen sun here in a couple of weeks, and with so much ice around, gun been avoiding being outside as much as possible, with too much slip and/or fall risk.

  • @pourmeanothermocktail I hope you all get some sunshine soon! And that the ice let's up so you can be outside without fear of falling.

  • @ErikandAfton Chicago doesn't typically see the sun in February. It's definitely our worst month.
  • @runwmusic same with London. Plus constant wind (I imagine it’s the same for you!!!). MISERABLE

Sun today, first time in weeks, likely last time for weeks! And I have millions of acres of cornfields behind my house, so while the entire region has a lot of wind, my our in particular tends towards an additional 20 mph more wind than the rest of town.

We had our first serious snows in October too!!! And so much freezing rain making ice since. I'm usually pretty tolerant of winter until start of March, but this year it started too early, and I'm too broken. Basically on house arrest for safety. I'm so done with it.

  • @diagonalley mine has been super low this whole pregnancy! Almost couldn’t find the heartbeat at our last appt because baby was under the denim line on my maternity jeans. He or she has moved up a little since then but still low and putting so much pressure on my bladder! 😫
