Speaking of tilted uterus, some also tilt back which can make hearing the heartbeat in early pregnancy very challenging. Mine tilts back.

  • @chipsnsalsa20 I love to sew!! I’m starting to feel a bit better and can’t wait to start sewing! I didn’t last pregnancy but I really want to this time. I wear a lot of dresses in the summer so I’ve been keeping my eye out for some cute patterns.
  • @chipsnsalsa20 and @jynjer91 I love to sew as well, but not clothes for people unfortunately. I love sewing doll clothes and quilting. I alter my pants, and my kids clothes but thats about it. I have considered making my own pants this time around though.
  • I know somebody on here mentioned taking excedrin for headaches bc it has the caffeine. Is that really okay? The booklet my doctor provided said it should only be used if prescribed because it's also an NSAID which can have unfavorable results in pregnancy. Just curious what others have been told? Excedrin was always my go to headache med but I switched to just any plain acetaminophen
  • @babyroma Have you tried doing a soda and a Tylenol? I think that’s what one poster ended up doing and said it worked! I would definitely ask your doctor on the Excedrin. Good luck!

  • @babyroma not sure, it's not on my safe list the doc gave me so I'm personally avoiding it.  I've been taking tylenol and like half a glass of caffeinated soda with it, which should give the same results as the excedrin I would guess? Tylenol itself wasn't working.
  • @brookert615 & @alseltzer This is only the maybe 2nd headache I've had and taken something for. The tylenol seems to be doing okay! I was just thinking about the excedrin because I remembered reading about it lol
  • @babyroma glad to hear it's working! Headaches are NO fun.
  • Well im obviously not a doctor but i was the one suggesting Excedrin above. My doctor gave me a paper they called the cheat sheet, and if i could take a pic I would. It seriously says its ok to take excedrine. It has (2nd tri) and says preferably Tylenol. The three ingredients in excedrine are Aspirin, caffeine, and Tylenol. So i guess if your worried just take caffeine (via pill or drink) and Tylenol. Im taking it but i also clean out the litter box, mow my yard, lift up to 40 lbs at work, and breathe second hand smoke. My other kids turned out fine. But you should follow your gut and ask your doctor, not ask the internet stranger lol.
  • @plusbabymakes8 I hear you! I made it to 8 weeks, then I was vacationing somewhere remote with minimal food choices and in desperation I caved. I have to admit I’ve continued eating gluten now for about 2 weeks. Little worried about the inflammation possibility, but survival Mode calls. I don’t have food allergies though so Im sure you have it worse - having to be strict. Good luck!
  • @jynjer91 @robynlynn2000 Yes! I’d love to make it easier on myself by just making my current pants maternity, but I think I love them too much and would miss them being regular pants ☹️
  • Anyone ween off progesterone? I’m at 10 weeks so I got the OK but thinking of halving my dose for 2 more weeks (they said I could but to stop by 12 weeks for sure). Mostly just looking for reassurance - after IF it feels like a scary leap. Happy Friday all!

@optimism3 I'm taking my (oral) progesterone until 12 weeks. Everything I've read says that while it doesn't hurt, taking it longer does not do anything. I would listen to your doctor. You are 10 weeks - you are in good shape!! Only three more weeks until we are in the 2nd trimester :)

  • @optimism3, I had a blood draw at 10 weeks and they said to stay on it until 12 but then to come off cold turkey without another blood draw which scares me. With my 1st pregnancy I came off at 12 weeks and they said to do it cold turkey but I did once a day instead of twice for a few days just for my own anxieties.

All that to say, I feel ya! ❤️
  • Anyone have subchorionic hematoma? I have two large ones and several small ones. Bleeding was bad last Wednesday and Friday and again yesterday. They are growing fast. The baby is doing great thus far. Any advice on what to do to decrease hematomas? I'm currently resting, 90 ounces of water a day, no bending, no lifting, and not stressing out. Thank you all.
  • @optimist13 with DS, my OB had me stay on oral progesterone through week 15. I’m at a different hospital with a midwife this time, and she’s let me lead the way through TTC (I told her I wanted to do progesterone again), so she hasn’t said anything about when to stop. I will probably just stop after this bottle is empty, which will put me at about 13.5 weeks.
  • Thanks for the input @daffodil_shoe @leksil and @jvk2012. If they weren’t suppositories I’d be willing to tolerate them indefinitely lol. Fingers crossed.

@summer_babysprout no experience here but of those precautions I’m sure not stressing is the hardest. Hoping they resolve for you ASAP. But maybe don’t tell anyone when they do so you can still rest a lot and not do any manual labor. Jk

For those of you on progesterone, is that something your doctor prescribed? Or a supplement you’re taking on your own? I’m assuming it’s something that has to be prescribed... FTM over here always worried I’m missing something! :)
  • @nhh11 it’s doctor prescribed. I take a progesterone shot every night because I did a frozen embryo transfer and because of that my body wasn’t naturally producing it. I was also prescribed it with my second child (natural pregnancy) because my level was too low at my first blood draw. It’s not something everyone needs, though.

  • Good idea... ha!!!
  • @nhh11 it’s prescribed. I’m taking it because I have luteal phase defect. My body doesn’t make enough progesterone after ovulation, so I get my period too soon. Even if I could get pregnant without progesterone supplements, I would have an early loss due to lack of progesterone.

Thanks @AugustGlass and @daffodil_shoe  that’s what I was wondering. I actually had mine checked before we got pregnant because I get my period fairly quickly after ovulation too. So I was worried about my progesterone production and ability to sustain a pregnancy. Luckily the dr said levels were okay (I was actually pregnant for the test but didn’t know yet) but I still wonder.  Good luck to both of you!
  • @summer_babysprout sorry you’re dealing with that. I had one during my last pregnancy and it was scary. It eventually just resolved itself - I wanna say around 16 weeks or so?
  • Anyone else bruising easily? I never had this with my other pregnancies but everyday i find at least one new bruise. Usually the size of a quarter-50cent piece. Mostly on my legs. They arent spiderveins either. Purple and blue bruises. I dont feel like its serious enough to call the doctors office, but it bothers me.
  • @robynlynn83, I bruise easily in general and I am on baby aspirin and am bruising even easier than usual. I went to my dr about it last summer and she said when estrogen is higher and as we age we bruise easier. The estrogen probably explains why in pregnancy.
  • @summer_babysprout I’ve got one. I had two bleeds but now just brown spotting. I was put on pelvic rest, told not to lift over 30lbs and rest when I could. My next US is aug 14 so we’ll see the status then.
  • Speaking of which: at what point to they start doing trans-abdominal US versus trans-vaginal?

@Swiftlet, my 6 week ultrasound was both ways, my 8 week just vaginal. I am assuming my NT scan will be abdominal.
  • @Swiftlet I think it depends on when the baby gets big enough to see easily without going into the vagina. Don't know where exactly that point is, but at my 6 week US I had both and at my NT screening (just before 13 weeks) it was only abdominal. She actually even let me pee after her initial look and before doing any measurements.
  • @Swiftlet At my 8 week appointment, she started with abdominal and if she couldn't see things well, she would move to vaginal. The tech was able to get all the information from the abdominal u/s.
My understanding is that the vaginal u/s is better to see small things (very early pregnancy, follicles on each ovary...). Once baby is big enough, an abdominal u/s is enough.

  • @Swiftlet I had an abdominal US yesterday and I'm 11.5 weeks. She seemed to hone in on baby quickly.
  • @Swiftlet usually by 12 weeks itll be abdominal.

  • Thanks guys :)
  • I had an abdominal ultrasound at 10 weeks.
  • Okay, about to pull the trigger on ordering a bridesmaid dress. I am 11 weeks now...I will be 24 weeks then...so almost 3 months now, about 6 months then. I saw a blog suggesting adding 1 inch per month of pregnancy. Alternately, going up about 2 sizes. Does that sound about right? I assume I'm going to have to have alterations done.... This is my first pregnancy. Am I going to be huge then? Help!

  • @babylawyer does the bride know you’re pregnant? Do you all have to wear the same exact dress, or can they be same designer/material but different styles?
