@babyroma I was expecting the same- I have to have 2 GD tests due to family risk. My midwives actually use some kind of super sugary organic grape juice. I thought it was pretty tasty!
My doctor jumped straight to the two hr test - she didn't even do baseline bloodwork. She said that there were enough risk factors to justify jumping straight to the longer test. It was rough. You have to fast first so I was nauseous (can't wait to be out of the first tri, lol). I had the fruit punch flavored drink and it was so sweet it burned my throat.
@babyroma I had GD with my first (and I’m assuming this one as well). I agree with prior recos to see if they can chill it for you. It makes a huge difference. To me, it tasted like a melted popsicle. VERY sweet. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to keep it down, but deep breathing and some distractions made it much easier. Good luck!!
So I am wondering if anyone else has had their gallbladder removed and then gotten pregnant? Like I feel extra sick this pregnancy, more than I did with any of the other three and the only thing I can think of that would be the reason (besides each pregnancy being different) is that I had my gallbladder removed after my third.
Has anyone else had major cramping and diarrhea during their first trimester? I’ve had two losses and with my last one this happened and just happened again last night. Not sure if it is related or if my stomach is just having issues right now. I’ve called my doctor and have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow but just wanted to know if anyone else hasn’t experienced anything similar.
@sassypants2010 no experience with having my gallbladder removed. But this is also my 4th and it has been by far the worst in terms of morning sickness and fatigue. I’ll be 12 weeks tomorrow, and usually by this time, I start to feel better. But nope, still feel like total crap. By the end of the night, I’m just ready for my kids to go to bed as soon as possible so that I can, too. Hope you feel better soon!
@char245 I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Any bleeding or spotting? I have had cramping but not diarrhea. Hopefully your doc can give you some answers ASAP.
@char245 Second watching for spotting, but it's great you'll be able to see the doctor so quickly. I had some kind of terrible stomach upset after eating from a food truck that led to a couple hours of cramping, diarrhea, and vomiting, and then just went away after everything was empty. Thinking of you and hoping it's something unfortunate you ate.
@sassypants2010 FTM here but without a gallbladder. If you changed your eating habits since getting pregnant it would make sense that you may have more nausea. I know I've been craving cheese that past 2 days and I had an increase in nausea because of the increase in fat intake. But the human body likes to makes no sense so it could be completely unrelated.
@char245 I agree with the watch for spotting crew. FX for a good US tomorrow!

@char245 I have been dealing with this, but no bleeding or anything. It is usually after I eat, so I think my stomach just freaking hates me right now. Fingers crossed for a good US tomorrow!!
@char245 I usually have diarrhea while pregnant. I looked it up and it is not uncommon based on what I’ve been able to find. Some mild-moderate cramping is also normal as your uterus stretches out.
Is anyone else experiencing never ending headaches? I’ve had the same headache since yesterday morning and I don’t know how to get it to go away.
I’m definitely not dehydrated because I’m drinking almost a gallon of water a day. I’m eating healthy, sleeping almost 10hrs a night, and taking Tylenol every 6 hours.
I have my 12 week appointment tomorrow and I plan to mention it then if it hasn’t stopped, but any help in the meantime would be greatly appreciated!
@taylork2020 my doctors office gave me a "cheat sheet" of medications i can take for what ailments. It says preferably Tylenol but excedrine is ok (2nd trimester). Ive taken Excedrin this week due to headaches, but this Friday is 13 weeks for me. Another idea is maybe you need caffeine (also in Excedrin). If you cut out all caffeine you may have withdrawal headaches. With my previous pregnancies my doctor told me it was ok to drink things with caffeine, that i should cut back a bit, but cutting it all completely will just make me feel worse. I hope you find something that works.
@daffodil_shoe I think that’s what happened to me, I hadn’t gone for a few days and then bam! It was so painful though that it was hard to say where the cramps were coming from. I’m sorry you all are experiencing similar things but it does make me feel better to know that it may not be related to my past experiences.
@taylork2020 I’m sorry you’re experiencing that! Sounds like you’re doing everything right! As @celticknotfire said, caffeine is usually what I need if I have a headache.
@celticknotfire@robynlynn2000@char245 I haven’t been doing caffeine at all since I got pregnant, except on Sunday I had a small cup because I was struggling to wake up and we had tons to do. Maybe that one cup confused my body?
I’ll try some excedrin tomorrow if it doesn’t go away and then bring it up at my appointment in the afternoon. Thanks ladies!

Yes! I’m having this almost daily since 8 weeks. I’m 10w1d today are you taking b6? That was definitely making the diarrhea worse.
Add me to the I can’t go and then awful gas cramps and diarrhea. I had this with my second pregnancy as well. Also headaches. I’ve greatly cut back on caffeine from what I was drinking so I’m sure that’s why
I had morning sickness for only a week then two weeks of extreme food aversions. I mean. Three bites and throw up everything. I could only handle a weak tea and not even crackers. I did however finally give in to a huge craving I had been having even though I was terrified to throw up (it’s very traumatic for me) and surprisingly kept it down and haven’t had any since. I’ve had some big smell aversions however. But I’m 9 weeks now and it’s all gone so you never know.
Has any STM+ ever called their doctor for a heartbeat check just out of paranoia? I literally have no reason to call except I want to hear it. I’m just crazy.

@jessieR358 I’m not taking b6 but I am taking Bonjesta which I think might contain b6 or something similar. Therefore, that could definitely be contributing to it.
@ibabyloveb87, have I wanted to call for a heartbeat check? Absolutely! Have I actually? No. I try really hard not to let me anxiety get the best of me. At this point there would be nothing a dr could do if there was no heartbeat. Later in pregnancy if there signs of decreased movement then a call to OB is absolutely necessary.
I will say this is why I plan to finally tell work at 13 weeks on the day I have my NT scan because I will have just seen baby on ultrasound so I know he/she is ok.
@leksiL August 8 is my next appt with the NT scan but I’m announcing Friday because it’s just too hard to hide with my belly any longer. So I keep thinking i would like a little extra reassurance before we announce, but I know that’s probably silly anyway.
@jvk2012 waiting til the NT was my original plan. That’s what I did the first time. But I’m having a really hard time focusing at work and this belly is getting hard to conceal. So we decided to tell Friday.

@optimism3 I’m gluten and soy free! Due to food allergies so I try to be super strict about it, until last week when I accidentally ate two bites of my mother in laws sandwich by accident. Seriously was so sick and SO bloated! This is my first pregnancy where I’ve had the allergies and it’s so hard to find things that sound good!
Anybody experienced with sewing/creating their own patterns? I want to dress my bump up this time around (my wardrobe with my first was t shirts and leggings 😅) & I’ve been seeing the cutest skirts but they’re not maternity wear 🙃 So I’m really inspired to just start making exactly what I want, just wondering if there are any like minded mamas!
@daffodil_shoe I guess I’m not crazy just had my appt and my midwife says what I can feel is the top of my uterus! they found the HB right away I am so relieved!!

Does anyone have guinea pigs? Has anyone discussed LCMV with their OB or vet? We rehomed our 3 when I found out I was pregnant and my 4yo asks for them daily. I’m having serious guilt, but obviously don’t want to put the baby at risk.
@daffodil_shoe No I haven't! I can just feel the top of it. The midwife was super surprised that she found the HB right away. Do you think that is why my first baby was breech? I am really hoping for a VBAC and my midwife group said they were treating me as a FTM and said they have an 80% success rate. I really really really do not want another breech baby! I had the worst recovery from my cesarean I was a hot mess.

Also I was so happy at the appt I forgot to talk to them about the painful sex AND whether I should still do the pelvic floor PT. I think I had better call them back!!

@leksiL I don’t know of any correlation between a tilted uterus and being breech. I just know that women who have a uterus that is tilted forward tend to show sooner.
