@DDRRT1982 I've started feeling better this week, at least from MS. Fatigue is still in full swing over here, but I haven't puked since 6 weeks and I haven't been feeling more than mild nausea when starving or stuffed. I have a feeling over the next couple weeks I'll be transitioning into blissy second tri stage!
Also when we posting bumps? I've got some serious convex midsection happening! Looks like the bloat will not be resolving, just hardening off into something legit.
For the ladies chatting about prenatal vitamin options (I’m too old for this and don’t know how to quote...) - just wanted to plug the New Chapter brand! I went to a super crunchy birth center for my second baby and was given these as a promotion. They were soooo much better for me than what I’d taken in the past (various gummy brands, various regular pill options, all of which made my nausea worse and gave me terrible diarrhea) that I’m shelling out for them with my third pregnancy, even though they’re pricey. I got a subscription as part of my Amazon subscribe and save order so we’re saving a bit, but if you can swing them, they are highly recommended (by me, at least!).
@craftywitch I mean if people want to start posting pics of their bloat, have at ‘er. But I know my roundness is pure bloat, not uterus, as it is still tucked behind the pelvis til about 12 weeks.
@daffodil_shoe I'm pretty sure it's the way I'm built- pot bellies "show" quicker haha. It's definitely bloat, but looks legit so I'm going with it! I was congratulated by a stranger already and I was so surprised I didn't even snark her.
@craftywitch I told my mom about the pregnancy a couple days ago. When we went outside, she gently patted my round belly. I immediately was like “oh no! That’s all fat and bloat, not baby!” 🤦🏼♀️
@craftywitch I totally got congratulated in the gym locker room last week 😂
actually last east time people knew early because I got a little potbelly. I never have a potbelly when I’m not pregnant. I know it isn’t the baby but still the baby’s fault!

I’m taking one a day prenatal gummies. I take gummies because they don’t have iron. I’ve talked to my midwife and since they test iron levels and I haven’t had issues with them since I was a vegetarian I was given the all clear. She gave me symptoms to look for.
+1 with the bloat. I had been losing weight all over and it appears like the weight is just coming back in one spot. What are the chances I keep this secret much longer?? 😬
@craftywitch Oh no!!! Do you think it was something like jalapenos or some kind of sour cream? If you suspect it being bad dairy I don't think it would hurt to call the doc to be sure. I think the main thing is to make sure you stay super hydrated. Good luck!
@brookert615 I'm going to call the nurse's line just to ask what are the signs that I should be worried. There was nothing spicy so it had to be something bad. I threw up too and am now feeling much better. Maybe MS is helpful sometimes... Definitely going to grab extra water today.
@craftywitch eek! So sorry I agree to stay hydrated, hopefully your pregnant GI just wasn’t pleased with your offerings. (Although wth, nachos should be glorified by every intestinal tract for the deliciousness that they are!) Anyone else eat with you get sick?
Im sorry, I laughed a little at the term "food truck nachos" usually around here its when you either say taco bell or white castle. Around 6 weeks (a month ago) we had white castle. Generally I dont get the gas and diarrhea people associate with it. And this night I didnt either, but i woke up at 3am and vomitted so hard. It was awful, and it burned my throat and nose and the next day i had a sore throat. I swear I will never eat white castle again.
@craftywitch hope you feel better soon! I wouldn’t worry too much and just pump fluids. Then again I’ve had at least a dozen mozzarella balls today so not the picture of health over here 😬

@craftywitch oh no! I hate to even imagine nachos betraying me like that. (That’s what I ate for lunch, too) I hope you’re out of the bathroom and feeling much better.
Anyone already useing stretch mark cream or lotion? I’m looking for advise on what works and what’s worth the cost there so many options it’s overwhelming 😕
@AlexisJoy92 95% of it is genetic unfortunately. You can do steps to try to minimize (try not to gain too much weight, moisturize frequently etc) but if you are genetically predisposed to getting stretch marks, you will get them.
What did I use? palmers cocoa butter. I didn’t get a single stretch mark last time, however no one in my family ever got stretch marks so that’s probably the reason.
I agree with @kiwi2628. It’s genetic and there’s really not a lot you can do to prevent stretch marks (although it certainly never hurts to stay moisturized!). I didn’t get them with any of my other pregnancies and neither did my mother. But I got lots of other lovely physical reminders, like varicose veins and the linea nigra.
@AlexisJoy92 if you want the most bang for your buck I would get some vitamin E oil. A little goes a long way and it does wonders.
ETA my newest symptom. I opened my deli drawer in the fridge and saw pepperoni and promptly started dry heaving. About an hour later I was telling DH about it, and as soon as I said the word “pepperoni” I promptly began vomiting. Is it February yet?
All I want to eat is pizza and tomatoes (soup, sauce, juice).

@rikiteacup I was going thru a pizza obsession there for a bit! I made sure to get a supreme pizza, because you know, I had to get my veggies from somewhere.
@brookert615@daffodil_shoe thanks for making me feel less crazy! My husband just laughed and said that I need to get it together. I know he was joking and normally I would laugh at that kind of humor, but in that moment I could have decked him. What is with husbands lately?!
@doodleoodle Hahah I have no clue what's up with husbands. Mine has been an angel for the most part but he has his moments where he's testing my patience haha.
My husband keeps momentarily forgetting that I'm pregnant [eyeroll]. He'll grab a beer and sit down and say "did you want one?", and I just look at him like "come on" (obviously I want one, stop asking). And then it hits him and he apologizes. I get it, I'm not showing and we haven't had a dr appt yet, so it's not as real to him yet....but COME ON.

My lovely dog just stretched on me when I was sitting at the dining room table, and I turned to her, and her little paw went directly into my mouth. I wiped off that part of my mouth with a tissue and immediately swished some Listerine...because gross. However, another thought crossed my mind afterwards and I haven't been able to shake it: Am I being peak-irrational to be a smidge concerned about toxoplasmosis exposure, or is this a scenario worth floating by my doctor at the next visit? I've never seen a stray cat in our yard (just rabbits and squirrels), but my dog does spend a lot of time digging around in the dirt back there. Sorry all, I'm a terrible, catastrophizing hypochondriac at the worst of times.
