25 weeks on Sunday and my swelling has gone nuts over the past couple days making my shoes and rings uncomfortable. Plus my boobs have started leaking so yay!

OMG...that gif! 🤣 I had to stop wearing my wedding ring over Thanksgiving. I think it has a lot to do with some swelling from the carpal tunnel. I was sad to have to put it away for a few months.
ETA - Also, I have a yeast infection. Soooooo uncomfortable!
Oh boo! I’m so sorry. I’m also dealing with some really bad bathroom issues despite taking max colace and fiber supplement daily. Even though Prep H and the medicated wipes aren’t doing much to relieve me, I am glad I have them!

@mamakate1616 I had a visit from the same bathroom issue 2 weeks ago, but thankfully the witch hazel wipes + Preparation H did their job. I've never had it before, not even with the first pregnancy, so it was an unpleasant surprise.
As for current symptoms, I get this tightening in the evening to the sides of the belly. Not sure if it's the baby trying to turn, or something else.
@mihaelams1 FTM here, but I’m wondering if that could be Braxton Hicks? I haven’t experienced any yet, but it sounds like how I’ve heard them described. Just a thought!
@mihaelams1 Sounds like BH. I have been getting a handful a day now, and mostly in the evenings.
I am really noticing less lung capacity recently. It’s like I can’t fully fill up my lungs, and I feel out of breath just walking sometimes. I am walking 2-3 miles a day at a pretty good clip, but I was completely winded pushing the full grocery cart to the car this morning. I do not enjoy this feeling at all.
@maggiemadeit - yes! I get winded just walking up the stairs sometimes. It’s rather disheartening. I know I’m asthmatic so it’s compounded, but still.....
@purpleteacher82@maggiemadeit interesting, it didn't occur to me they might be BH. I didn't have them with my first, and they feel nothing like the real contractions (I remember those were very much like horrible period pain, at least in my case). I'm wondering if it's because this baby is breech currently, and not head down like my first son was.
I've also noticed I'm getting very winded going up the stairs!
I have some pain across my pubic bone and down my left thigh - it's not bone pain, feels more like nerve pain. I'm thinking it's because baby is low (all of her kicks and movements are way down in my pelvis, despite the fact that I know my uterus is now up above my belly button a few inches.) With DD I definitely had kicks and punches up higher, around my belly button, by now. I hope she moves up/shifts soon because it's nearly impossible to go down the stairs without a lot of pinching pain - lately I've been scooting down the stairs (at home) on my bum! Anyone else have a low baby?!
I've got a very low baby. All the hiccups are low in my pelvis, so LO is also head down, I'm guessing. Walking has been hard. Baby feels low enough to fall out of there. My last baby was like this too. It's hell.
You are all making me feel so much more normal! I feel huge, I get winded going up stairs, I have to pee constantly, once this week I had pelvic pain/it ran down my right inner thigh, and the heartburn/indigestion is terrible Just call me a Wammmmbulance!
Will be 27 weeks tomorrow and I’m starting to feel it. I have energy still to get things done but then I do too much and I’m exhausted. My feet have started to ache if I walk too much, aka from all the Christmas shopping. At the end of the day my stomach feels like it is sooo stretched out or falling off. Peeing all the time now and starting to feel uncomfortable. This LO also gives some hard punches and kicks, sometimes I end up jumping. Braxton Hicks in the evening have increased and my crotch feelings constantly sore. She is sitting low compared to DD1 and I’m pretty sure she is still breech based on where movement is, so third tri should be awesome....
@novelblessings Mine hasn’t turned yet either. I have been doing the spinning babies exercises every day since 20 weeks trying to prepare for the VBAC and here I am with worlds most stubborn baby with her head in my ribs! Last week my midwife said not to worry, there’s still lots of time to turn. She said she doesn’t worry about it until after 32 weeks.
@Lbloom Ugh, to think I used to complain with DD that she was up in my ribs! I'd take that any time over this low baby wreaking havoc on my poor pelvis, pubic bone and pelvic floor!
@maggiemadeit She's turned a couple of times but likes turn back to breech. I'm just tired of being kicked in my crotch or rear. LOL. FX our babies cooperate because they are getting big!
I'm with everyone here dealing with getting winded easily - it's a total pain. I also really don't understand what the uncomfortableness is in my abdomen and if it's BH or RLP or what.
One weird thing I've noticed over the last few weeks is that there's a small patch of skin about an inch below my bra line on the right side of my body that has been getting slightly numb/tingly. I notice it even when I'm around the house and not wearing a bra or anything tight. I'm assuming it's pregnancy-related just because everything is, but I don't know if it's "normal" or if I'm crazy or what.
@bug_hunter typically BH will feel uncomfortable for a couple minutes and then relax. Some people notice the tightness, but the muscles will get hard like a contracted muscle. RLP is typically sharp and somewhat fleeting.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
Feeling decent here. Almost 24 weeks. The heartburn has been the biggest pain so far. Never had heartburn in my life until now. Getting up and down in getting harder and my feet tend to ache pretty easy especially after a really busy day at work standing all day. Starting to get very nervous of what to expect soon. My bump is definitely alert and healthy she is kicking up a storm all hours of the day. By the end if the evening I definitely feel stretched to the max.
I have had the Braxton Hicks the last few weeks as well. Just a weird tightening for a few minutes. I’m sure it’s uncomfortable for them too, I was laughing yesterday cuz I said I bet she goes “oh not this again” everytime it gets tight down there. I have also had the sharp pains in my pelvis, mine is mostly when I’m laying down and I turn over to change positions. It is definitely NOT pleasant. I also noticed, not sure if this is tmi but me and SO were doing the deed last week and we tried it with me leaning on a pillow and I got a Charlie Horse in my belly! Not sure if it was just extended RLP or an actual Charlie Horse but it was not pleasant at all so will be avoiding that!
SI Joint Pain This is my 3rd pregnancy and 3rd time dealing with SI joint pain. With my first it showed up around 20 weeks after a cross country drive but resolved itself until it came back at the end of pregnancy. With my second it resolved when I stepped on a toy car and fell flat on my back on a tile floor with a lot of force... it knocked my SI joints in place but also landed me in the hospital for 4 hours of monitoring, I don't care to repeat that. This time It's shown up early (twins) and was coming and going but this week is constant, any time i get up or down turn my leg wrong, or forget and cross my right leg or sit with it under me.
One symptom I've been battling for weeks now that is new to me is the inability to PEE unless I put my feet on a squatty potty! If my feet are up I can empty my bladder, if they aren't it's a problem. So if anyone else is dealing with this... buy squatty potty (seriously).
Varicose Veins I have a horrible varicose vein in my right let, it starts in my groin and you extends to my calf. If anyone has found compression stockings they actually think are comfortable, I'm all ears. My left leg is fine, but my right is destroyed . Right now I'm wearing a footless one on just my right leg when I'm up on my feet or out of the house... wearing it on both legs makes me 100 times more uncomfortable.
@Pooka8 I commiserate with the SI joint pain. Mine tends to come and go during pregnancy but it is a literal pain in the butt! Do you have a yoga ball? I find that really helps when mine is acting up.
My vag pretty much always hurts, unless I'm sitting. I did not have this issue with my first pregnancy. Over it. I also sound like a creepy mouth breather at all times due to shortness of breath.
For all the people talking about shortness of breath, I know our organs are starting to get squished and that could be the cause but it can also be a symptom of anemia and since being pregnant makes us more at risk for that as well, it may be worth mentioning to your doctors just in case.
@mayoduck I've also read that the increase in fluids in the body can lead to shortness of breath. I had to give a miserable presentation last week where I was talking for an hour straight and I could not catch my breath! The practice I see ran an iron test with my glucose test, thankfully all is normal.
@gowenc Interesting! Yeah, I don't intend to alarm anyone or suggest that they do have anemia but just that it may be worth mentioning at a check-up.
Nice to hear your test results came back normal! I have my GD screening next week and am keeping my fingers crossed! I am mildly worried mostly because my baby has been measuring a week ahead all pregnancy long and both DH and I are smaller people and were smaller babies.
@mayoduck Thanks for mentioning that. I have been worried about iron my whole pregnancy becuase I couldn’t stomach the prenatals with iron, but they won’t check my levels until my appointment next month.
@maggiemadeit Ugh, sorry to hear that's been at the forefront of your mind and that you have to wait so long to get your blood tested. I started my pregnancy with a red blood count below standard levels so I guess it's something I'm a little extra mindful of too. I hope the results at the end of your wait will bring you good news and peace of mind!
@bug_hunter -this is just a suspicion of mine on your tingly/numb skin patch. It's probably some pinched or squashed nerves in your skin. The area under my bra was like an area of fire for me a few weeks back when my bump was squishing all my organs up and out of the way. It's better now in that area now that my bump has dropped (but that has brought on all the pelvic floor pain). However, now I have lots of shiny/numb skin across the middle of my bump simply because all my skin there has been stretched to the max thanks to my over - large bump. I'm gonna look great after this is over!! Again, that might not be it for you, but I thought I'd throw out what I had going on because it sounded like a similar symptom.
@Lbloom Thanks for sharing your thoughts/experiences - I was also thinking it could be a pinched nerve or something. I forgot to ask about it at my appointment yesterday (midwife was in a super rush), but I'm not actually concerned. It's just such a bizarre feeling! In some ways, I'm kind of happy that I already have stretch marks on my hips and belly from puberty so I really don't care so much about what marks this kid will leave behind haha
Wanted to throw this symptom out there. I plan to bring it up at my appointment next week also. But has anyone had moments where their heart feels like it’s racing? Makes me a little anxious because I had hbp with my previous pregnancy but don’t remember my heart randomly racing. It’s not usually when I’m active, it seems to happen when I’m sitting or lying down that I notice it.
@nvkbkessings I do occasionally and did last pregnancy as well. Last time my doctor said that an occasional racing heart is ok as long as there wasn’t any pain or last too long there was no reason to look into it further. If I remember correctly, it was because of all the extra blood our bodies pump, sometimes our hearts kind of spasm and go into overdrive. They weren’t necessarily caused by extra exertion, sometimes I’d just be sitting on the couch and my heart would start racing. I haven’t had too many instances his pregnancy yet.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
@novelblessings I had heart palpitations and an occasional racing heart, usually during rest, in the late 1st trimester and early 2nd trimester. I brought it up with my midwife who wasn't concerned and said it was likely due to increased blood volume but said if it got worse or concerned me then I should see my PCP because their office didn't have EKG equipment or the take-home monitors. I haven't noticed palpitations in a while, though, so I suppose my body adjusted?
@novelblessings Just wanted to echo what meggyme is saying. I have a racing heart (palpitations) which I have had since before pregnancy. It has had an uptick in occurances since becoming pregnant. Talking to my cardiologist, she said when they occur to time them if they start to last 20+ minutes that I need to call the office and start heading to l&d. Mine have never lasted more than 5. Mention it to your Dr and I would ask them when they would be concerned as they are a pregnancy symptom.
@meggyme@bug_hunter@Kenneylynn3 Thanks for the feedback. I've noticed it on and off just recently and with the hpb last time I was freaking out a bit that creepy in. Not a fun symptom either way. I'll make sure to bring it up at my appointment next week for sure.
@Pooka8 I commiserate with the SI joint pain. Mine tends to come and go during pregnancy but it is a literal pain in the butt! Do you have a yoga ball? I find that really helps when mine is acting up.
edit: because I quoted the wrong thread. @maggiemadeit
I have one but have to pump it up, I think my issue is that my right SI joint is too mobile, so any stretches that I try (given by a PT in my first pregnancy) make it worse
@Pooka8 I have some compression socks that are Nursemates. I bought them on amazon. I don't find them uncomfortable.
@Kenneylynn3 Because my Varicose problems start in my groin, I have to wear something thigh high. Knee high socks would make the problem worse. I wish it was that simple since I have multiple pairs of ProCompression brand knee highs.
How do you all know what position your babies are in? I’ve no idea if my baby is head up, head down, lying horizontal, etc. I can’t even tell if his movements are kicks or punches 😅
@3rdtime_charmed I can’t even imagine what it feels like to have a little one squirming under your ribs - definitely sounds uncomfortable though, eep!

My midwives feel my belly at every appointment and tell me how the baby is facing as best they can. It's still early enough that sometimes they aren't 100% certain though. They also will sometimes listen to the heartbeat from different sides of my belly to help tell as well. I can't really differentiate between punches and kicks either, but kicks should be the stronger ones.
ETA: Feeling the belly might not be something everyone does though? I thought that was very standard, but then I see women talking about having ultrasounds in late pregnancy to determine that, so maybe it's just a midwife thing? My midwives only do late term ultrasounds if they can't tell by feel (and they're legally not allowed to deliver breech babies outside the hospital, so they are obviously very confident in their ability to tell by feel!) Last pregnancy at one point past 30 weeks, they couldn't quite tell so they said they'd do an ultrasound at the next appointment if they still couldn't tell then. But they could, so I didn't get one.
At my last appointment, the midwife took my hands and helped me feel the head. Honestly, I had to take her word for it! She said, "You can feel kind of a round ball there?" and I said, "I guess, ok." I kind of could but only because she said so. If I'd put my hands there on my own, I wouldn't have noticed anything. In theory, you can kind of feel your belly yourself, but it's hard!
