@ashley14598 I am hoping it’s a fluke but I looked at previous appointments and it was creeping up a little. I was told to rest more over this weekend and just monitor things for now. I’ve also had an increase in Braxton Hicks the past two weeks. Crossing my fingers, I was miserable last time.
@navete Thanks! I am feeling better today. I think maybe my uterus/abdominal muscles were just stretching out. I had a really long work day on Thursday, so that may have played a part too.
Anyone else dealing with raging pregnancy congestion? I'm not sick and it's not allergies but I can't breath at night at all. During the day is better but not great. Constant post nasal drip.
@lisee923 yes, although not as bad. I've been having it for 3-4 months at least, and I asked the midwife during my last appointment - she said it's totally normal, and to manage it with saline solution and a netty(sp?) pot. If it affects your sleep at night you can try a nose strip, those helped when I was sick and couldn't take my normal decongestant.
@lisee923 Add me to the congested club, especially at night. Unfortunately it's pretty common during pregnancy. I was congested when pregnant with my DD, too and if I remember correctly it didn't go away until she was born. Boo. I do find a neti pot or similar nasal rinse system to work decently well but that's about all I've tried!
@lisee923 Me! Although I also caught my daughter's cold this weekend, so in addition to the runny AND stuffed nose, I have bloody noses from blowing my nose and a mouth like the Sahara when I wake up in the morning. Vicks, a humidifier, and saline spray have been working for me. My midwife also approved certain decongestant medications that I might dip into tonight. Between the swollen sinuses and the cold, the congestion this time of year is bad.

@mihaelams1 Oh yeah. I have been holding it off with small meals, no eating before bed, drinking kefir, sleeping on an incline, but now it doesn’t matter what I do. It’s going to be Zantac time for me pretty soon.
@mihaelams1 big time heartburn over here. I'm taking zantac in the evenings and sleeping sitting up (or as close to it as is comfortable). Even water gives me heartburn. Not looking forward to 11 more weeks of this!
I know someone else mentioned it, but i checked last night and i now have leaky nipples. I didn't get it my first pregnancy, but i think i am making colostrum now. Not a bad thing. just interesting LOL.
@Kenneylynn3 oh my, I'm really sorry, it sounds awful! I had it very bad last evening, but the Tums (or rather the Target brand) were in the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom and DH was already asleep. So I suffered for a couple of hours before the pain went away. Today I felt the start of it after lunch, but thankfully I discovered that they have an antacid in the first aid cabinet at work! Whoever came up with the list of what to stock up on is an angel!
@mihaelams1 That's great. After the first time or to I also went digging for non-named brand tums. Thank goodness I had some. I don't go anywhere without them. Haha
Add me to that list! Tums on my nightstand, in kitchen spice thing, in the car, in my purse, at my desk...

I had more frequent contractions/BH yesterday. Doc told me to take Benadryl which made me pass out at 7pm. I woke up at 11, and took more Benadryl but couldn’t get back to sleep until 2, insomnia already being a symptom of mine. The good news, I spent the time awake researching college savings plan and looking at our financial planning so at least I was productive!!

I am waddling. I can’t even walk very far without becoming uncomfortable or getting Braxton Hicks. Even at the end of the day after sitting at the office, I come home and can’t stand for long to make dinner or get things together. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the next 10 weeks LoL
I’m also waddling and having tons of BH. My groin pull still isn’t healed, sciatica is a pain and I’m worried I’m developing SPD (doc recommended I get a support belt in case it’s actually that and not just the groin thing ) eta: my ankles are generally always grapefruit shaped these days, toes are still normal sized though lol. BP is still good and doc didn’t care about the swelling so I guess that’s ok for now. Someone recommended a brand of compression socks - maybe @Kenneylynn3? Would love to try something new as the pair I got with DD were not great.

I’m joining the heartburn club 😓. Due to that and insomnia I’ve been staying up til 2,3...last night was the worst, nearly 7am; I let myself sleep in til 10 but definitely not enough. It’s crazy! The silver lining is that I’m awake when baby is most active...little fellow is non-stop thumping around in there during the wee hours of the night.
@mamakate1616 I, too, am having some pelvic pain (right across my pubic bone) which I'm hoping isn't SPD. I'm nervous it might be though. For me, I definitely notice it gets worse if I walk down stairs (up is kind of ok) or try to pull pants/socks/shoes on while standing up (ie by balancing on one leg then the other). I didn't have SPD with my first pregnancy so I'm not 100% sure if that's what this pain is, but whatever it is - it sucks! I'm waddling for sure and feel so stiff and sore around my pubic bone when getting up from sitting, out of bed, etc. So sorry to all those suffering from heartburn - it sounds miserable! Mine hasn't hit yet but I'll be 30 weeks in a couple days so I'm sure it's on its way....
I was feeling very smug about my lack of heartburn after reading all your posts and then...I had a bout of it this morning. It was mild and luckily I was at Walmart so I could grab some Tums. I am hoping that this is not the start of a regular occurrence!
Heartburn woke me up last night at around 3am It's definitely worse than with DS1 and I have no idea how to avoid it. Once it started a couple of days back it just keeps on coming.
I'm with everyone else in the symptoms pool and it's making me feel good about bring normal. My doctor put me back on my Prilosec I took prior to pregnancy because the heartburn became too much. I've been swelling for almost a week now and short of breath walking anywhere. I spent last week Thursday in labor and delivery for severe dehydration and was having contractions, high blood pressure and I have traces of protein in my urine. This all stemmed from recent divorce events and stress of course.
I'm doing a lot better now once they hydrated me. Baby has moved back up thank goodness because I was having constant pain in my back and pelvis. Now just back to typical 26+5 pregnancy stuff. I just need to keep a close eye on my blood pressure. I have a history of hypertension about 3-4 years ago triggered by extreme stress so o have to be careful.
It's nice to know I'm not alone with all these crazy symptoms!

@catlady2015 Ouch!! I hope your belt helps too cause that is no fun at all.
AFM.... Gonna take myself to the urgent care later this morning cause of another UTI. Ugh. Like I wasn't peeing enough already lol. I literally never got UTIs before I got pregnant and now this is my second in 6 weeks.
I ordered a wedge-shaped pillow for my belly which should get here today. I'm hoping it'll help with the sciatic pain I've been having at night. My doctor suggested sticking a pillow under there but so far a regular pillow and a rolled up towel haven't quite gotten the job done. The rolled up towel does help somewhat though, if anyone is dealing with similar issues!
@catlady2015 Oh no! I hope the belt helps and you recover quickly.
@diaphena Ugh, that sounds really uncomfortable, on top of an already squished bladder! I bought a wedge pillow early in this pregnancy and it was the best $20 I have ever spent. It’s just enough to support to keep everything in line. I put the wedge under the bump and then a regular pillow between my knees. I hope it gives you relief!
I just ordered a support band this week too, at the end of the day my back and hips are super stiff and my feet get sore. I'm hoping it helps! I was also up to pee like 5x last night
31 weeks today and I think I officially have to take my rings off. My hands are too swollen. My wrists are even swollen because I can’t wear my watch on the usual notch. Last time I made it to 36 weeks before having to take them off.
@novelblessings my swelling has been pretty good so far, only a little when working out, but I ordered one of the flexible enso rings to wear in advance (I've had it on for awhile) and it's been awesome!
Last time i just didnt didn't wear my rings and despite the fact that it was 2012, oh the looks I'd get wandering around pregnant without my wedding ring... Ridiculous.
@BuckeyeNut05 I have a silicone ring that I wear when I run that I have been wearing at home recently too. Just didn’t think I’d have to put my rings away so soon.
@novelblessings I had to stop wearing my wedding ring at 24 weeks (around Thanksgiving). I think I have excess finger swelling due to carpal tunnel, but it was a sad day when I had to put it away. ☹️
@novelblessings - my rings had to come off this week too. My hands were fairly swollen and I didn’t want to risk getting them stuck. It’s really weird not having my wedding ring on!
@maggiemadeit I got to try out the pillow last night and it was great - first night with no numbness or pain in a long time! Definitely going on my recommendations list for the other pregnant ladies in my life.
