@megsb615 see, now I have no idea what I'd name a girl. I'm going to be excited either way, but I've been picturing DS with a brother lately and I'm crazy about that picture. I've been dreaming of a boy though and with my son I dreamt of girls, so I really think it's a girl.
@eatinwatermelonseeds It does make my heart melt thinking about DS with a brother. My husband and his brother are best friends and have always looked out for each other. I would love love love for DS to have that kind of relationship with a brother. Obviously I realize he could be close with a sister too, but I feel like it’s different for brothers. I’m an only child though, so what do I know? 😂 I’d really just be a little sad not to get to use my girl name. Haha Didn’t you like Madelyn and Claire? I think those are both pretty!
@eatinwatermelonseeds@megsb615 LOL I have literally dozens of girl names I love, and we are on the struggle bus with boy names. Currently leaning towards Finnegan Gerald (my mom's brother who passed a few years ago was Gerald and I know she and my aunt would love it).
I think it's so amazing when people have "a feeling" about what they're having. With DD, I had no clue. Most people told me I was having a boy (ha!) because of how I carried. My mom was "right" but DH is like "she had a 50/50 shot."
I thought I was having a boy with both of my other pregnancies and my intuition was wrong! This one feels like a boy and the US tech guessed boy. We shall see.
I feel like like girl names are so much fun and so pretty. I’m going to be kind of sad if we dont get to pick a girl name. Boys names just don’t interest me at all. It’s going to be interesting if this one is a boy. Dh is already super excited about a boy name and I’m just not feeling it.

@megsb615 see, my husband has 4 brothers and doesn't like any of them (all varying age gaps, one as close as a year apart, oldest is 10 years older) but he doesn't like his sister either 😂 I really think (though also an only child) that it has more to do with the importance parents put on sibling bonds. His parents didn't really care as long as no one killed each other (which they almost did even 😳). And I do like Madelyn and Claire but I just can't decide which one is my daughter. And neither illicits the excitement Colin did.
@sleepy33 I have options for girls, I only have one for a boy (Arthur Joel). I really like Finnegan Gerald! That's a good name ☺️
@kvh22 everyone but me knew I was having a boy last time. It's strange. I was sure it was a girl, but everyone else knew. This time, everyone tells me it's a girl so I'm leaning toward believing them lol. Especially one friend. Man, every time she's guessed for herself (3 kids) and any of our friends (about 3 other people and then myself) she's been right. I mean, 50/50 chance, but every time?
I have no idea either way. I was convinced my first was a boy and was blown away when the tech told us differently. Can't wait to find out around Christmas time though!
@eatinwatermelonseeds I would love for someone to guess for me whose good at it! Your friend sounds super intuitive. We'll be team green but I just think it's fun. I feel like everyone I knew who was team green at least had a feeling one way or the other. I wasn't disappointed I didn't but just like "huh, I have no freaking clue." DH thought boy. My mom thought girl (correctly) because she gained 55lbs with my brother and was just so swollen, and gained much less with my sister and me and I take after her in many things...apparently I was "carrying like she did with her girls."
I was on the what to expect community may 2019 board (looking through it give me a headache), someone asked for a suggestion for a Middle name. First name Nash--I couldn't help myself but suggest Will. Nash Will. Ahhh lol I'm so bored today at work.
@sleepy33 I LOVE that! You know how I am about family names though! 💙
@kvh22 My “feeling” of it being a girl is mostly based off of this pregnancy being so different from DS, which I realize means nothing, but we’ll see!
@robyn2201 I’ve definitely been more into the girl names this time around too. If I had any man family members with names I wanted to use, I’d be more excited haha My great grandfather (which is actually the only grandfather I ever met) was William Clinton, and I like William, but don’t want the nickname Will, and Liam is so popular. Husband likes Clinton and call him Clint, but I’m not loving that either. My dad is Robert, so I thought about using that, but I’m not crazy about Bobby or Rob/Robby for nicknames. Needless to say, this baby will be nameless if it’s a boy. 🤷🏼♀️
@eatinwatermelonseeds Thats very true about encouraging sibling bonds. Husband’s family has always been pretty tight knit, so that makes sense.
@SpaceBurger I won’t be finding out until around December either. Glad I’m not the only one! I feel like most everyone will already know by the time I find out. I feel like to the party! 😂
@megsb615 I feel like Dh’s family has used all the good boys names. My grandfathers were Harold and Warren, very old fashioned names. FIL and my dad have the same first name, Gary, and it just does not excite me at all. Dh wants to do a double middle name with Gary as the second middle name. But how the heck does a double middle name work when filling out paperwork? Anyone know?

@robyn2201 Hm, I would assume you would just list them both. I want to say someone was talking about using 2 middle names, but that could’ve been from me stalking other bmb for name ideas. 🤦🏼♀️
All you close to or in the second trimester make me so jealous I still have three weeks of this first tri nonsense. I also won't find out boy/girl until around the New Year because I can't get an actual person on the phone with our insurance to find out if NIPT is covered for me without any risk factors myself, so I have to wait for the anatomy scan. I'm the last for finding out all this stuff on here except those opting not to 😕
@imrachellea My deductible is too high for me to feel comfortable doing the NIPT without insurance covering it. I’m going to pay for an early ultrasound at one of the “First Glimpse” places because I’m impatient and excited. Granted I’ll have to wait until 16 weeks, but that’s still sooner than 20 weeks.

@robyn2201 I have two middle names. I usually just put 1 middle initial (if requested) on most forms, but I do put both names if I’m filling out something official (ie. government, banking, etc) . It’s never been a big deal, except for the fact that I have so many letters in my name (24) that they rarely all fit in the little squares on forms.
Oi, I made an error at recess. I was chatting with one of my library helpers about doing an inventory and mentioned that it's too bad I won't be here at the end of the year because that's when doing an inventory would be the best. And then I told her, because she's one of my favourite students and very respectful. But, of course, there was another student nearby who overheard and started SHOUTING it and apparently, now all the grade 4 and 5s know.
I had meant to share it just with my library helpers personally, but now it's out, so... I'm kicking myself. I guess in a few days it won't matter.

DD is supposed to bring a goodie bag or treat in for the 12 kids (including her) at her daycare center tomorrow. I've known this since Thursday or Friday of last week and have done NOTHING to get ready for it. We've grocery shopped since then, I've placed Amazon orders which have arrived, and it just slipped my mind. Now I saw these cute little homemade rice krispie treat pumpkins I want to make...someone talk me out of it and convince me to just throw a piece of candy, a pencil, and a spider ring in a bag!! I have dinner in the slow cooker so we'll go on a family walk to the store when DH gets home with DD in an hour or so.
@kvh22 I probably wouldn't go that far lol. But our daycare actually doesn't allow home baked goods, so I wouldn't be able to even if I wasn't an underachiever. You could just buy a bunch of Tootsie pops and tie a coffee filter (or Kleenex) over and make little ghosts?
@imrachellea what you don’t want those awesome pantylines to be super prevalent while you wear leggings?
@kvh22 I’m only thinking of this because it applies to me but I can’t have Rice Krispies treats because most of the time marshmallows have pork in them and I can’t have pork or pork products. So I’d say no but that could be childhood me being sad and bitter 😂
@DuchessOfCambridge wait, what???? There are definitely children at her daycare who might not eat pork for religious reasons. I had no idea. So Oreos are vegan but marshmallows have meat? I've made homemade marshmallows before but I guess it's the gelatin so who knows if that had pork.
@kvh22 if it is pork gelatin it usually just says “gelatin”. If it’s cow or fish or something else, it’ll clarify. I know Trader Joe’s sells vegan marshmallows but I don’t know if that’s only a summer thing. But marshmallows and hot chocolate! I need to go to TJs now.
@DuchessOfCambridge a mom on my June 2013 BMB was an observant Jew and shared with us that marshmallow fluff is kosher because it is also vegetarian. Like the Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme. So she would sub that for regular marshmallows when making Rice Krispie treats.
Busy researching all the new stuff that has come available since I had my older babies. I am so intrigued by this Haakaa silicone breast pump. The other one I've come across is the Willow Pump. Has anyone tried it? It's not cheap, and I really don't know if it would be worth it in my own situation, but dang that thing seems to solve so many of the pumping struggles I have heard mamas complain about in the past. I'd love to hear if it really works the way they say it should.
