So glad to finally share! Waited a long time to hear the greatest beat my husband's ever produced. Completely lost it when we heard the heart beat, DH held it together until we made it to the car and then he was a puddle of tears.
Baby is measuring 9w1d, same due date. Heartbeat was 154. Such a great gift to receive the day before our 6 year anniversary.
Went yesterday and measured 2 days ahead of schedule. Heart rate was 166. Today I am 10w2d
and my little tater tot looks like she/he likes to stretch or is
practicing to be an olympic diver 😉😍
(Admin can you delete this? Accidentally posted twice - thanks!)

@eatinwatermelonseeds. We had the typical sibling issues but nothing out of the ordinary. Biggest thing for my parents was the break in sports and other activities. Because of our age difference there was not much overlap. So I could go to his games and my parents didnt have to miss my events.
We actually live together now and I'd be lost without him.
@bumbly_b My sister and I are 8 days less than 6 years apart and super close! We're in very different points in our lives right now (she's in grad school full time and still hasn't started working and I've been working for 7+ years with baby #2 on the way) but she was my MOH and we talk constantly.
Soo glad to hear I'm not the only one who will have a big age gap! DS has been asking for a sibling for years now so he will be thrilled when we finally tell him (waiting until after 12 week appt just to be sure). He will be such a good helper and since he's in school now that is a plus for me! Although I'm a little surprised he hasn't asked more questions as to why mommy has been "sick" so long haha. He's been great at letting me rest and bringing me plates of crackers and such, it's too cute.
I have a 6 year gap between my sister and me and a 5 year gap between me and my brothers. My sister and I did a lot of bickering as kids, but what sisters don't? We are all very close now (my brothers and I pretty mu h always were). Other bonuses: older sibling can babysit, & only one in college at a time (generally)
In my US Monday, the OB pointed out three cysts on my left ovary. One of which was 5.5 cm which is bigger than my ovary (pictured on the right). They said to come in immediately if I feel any sudden pain because it could be a torsion which is when the ovary twists around on itself. They said even if I have to have it surgically removed, it shouldn't affect LO.
Felt sudden pain in my left side with no bleeding this afternoon and just got an ultrasound to check out the source of my pain. Our LO has grown and has a strong heartbeat still 😍 the US above is from today.
Still feeling all my pregnancy symptoms. I'll keep you ladies updated with the outcome.
Ok, cyst is bigger and its growth is making it settle and lodge itself which is great because it is less likely to tort or twist the ovary. The pain was from the pressure and irritation of it getting larger and lodging itself with other organs. They said of pain gets worse, come back. Though right now I'm back home with DH and the pup.
@kbeers13 I've had that happen! Are they simple cysts? I hope they are so that they will hopefully absorb on their own. I remember that pain when they twisted....I thought I was dying. Don't mean to scare you but it certainly is something you want to pay attention to.
@MaggieG183 thank you! @expandcontract they didn't say simple but they said all three are fluid only and could reabsorb on its own. It felt like I got kicked right inside my hip bone. I'm just happy it's not torted and I got to see LO
@kbeers13 that’s crazy! Glad to hear it’s not twisted. Is it related to the pregnancy or just a weird coincidence? An ultrasound and a chance to see the little one is always a nice silver lining to any health woes, I guess...
@anonellis we aren't sure. The ob said it could have been there before. Either way, she said it would probably reabsorb on its own once the placenta starts working which would be like next week. We'll be able to see if that's happening at the 12 week US
We had our 8 week confirmation on Friday, when I was 8 weeks and 1 day based on my last cycle. Baby measured at 7 weeks and 6 days, which my OB said was perfectly normal, and said that our LO might just be one that measures small. We had our first confirmation ultrasound at 6 weeks due to a previous miscarriage, and baby measured a couple days smaller at that point too. So, we think he/she might just have that sort of growth pattern.
We didn't get to hear the heartbeat unfortunately, because my OB used a new ultrasound machine they'd just received and didn't know how to operate the speakers. But we saw it, and it was the sweetest little flicker hubby and I have ever seen. 😍 so excited for our first prenatal appointment on Halloween!!
NT scan this morning! Baby is measuring right on track at 12w3d. (I'm currently 12w2d according to my LMP, so they won't change the due date for one day.) Baby was so cooperative (sleeping, I think!) that DH and DD1 almost didn't make it in time to see. We assumed it would take at least half an hour - they showed up 20 minutes into my appointment and the tech had been finished getting all necessary measurements for 10 minutes already. I'm so glad she wasn't in a rush and was willing to wait for them. DD1 was in awe.

Such an amazing dayyyyyyyy! We had our NT scan and got a great surprise it’s a BOY!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it, I am so excited!!!!! This is really the first time I’ve felt excited, so amazing!!!!!! The neck measurement was good, she said based on what she sees she’d be surprised if anything comes up on the bloodwork, he was stretching and moving all around, got to see his arm stretch all the way up over his head, so fun...HIS, eep! I am basically sitting on my hands now to keep from going crazy shopping, haha!

NT scan today. Everything looked great! Beta was measuring 12 weeks 4 days at 12+2, so pretty spot on. It's nice to have the genetic testing done and looking good, so these additional tests are just further validation.
@BWhitta just doooo it! We are team green and since we already have all the boy things from DS I totally went to GAP and bought some cute onesies and pjs just in case #2 is a girl (not going to lie, I bought a couple cute onesies for baby if it’s a boy too...shhhhh! Don’t tell DH!) Don’t want to be caught off guard! And FYI, GAP is having a 50% off clearance sale so it’s not like you’ll even break the bank 😉
Happy to share my first ultrasound photo with you all from last week! We were measuring at 8w 3d, with a due date of May 25th, we saw a strong little heartbeat, which really brought the reality home for both of us. Do we typically find out the gender at the NT ultrasound? My family is very excited to find out (as am I!)
@knottie62c95aa339828f28 no, that's not typical as it's pretty early, just depends on the person doing it. Some will venture a guess, some may be confident, but a lot just won't even try.
Well this was back in the beginning on October so this is our 8 week ulstrasound. The camera on the internal wasn't functioning so we went with an external. Baby was measuring right on schedule and we have our next appointment on Nov 8th to hear heartbeat. Our OB put the referral request into our insurance for the NT scan so we are just waiting to schedule that I love seeing all these adorable little ones!
@sheenabear22 congrats! Our DD will be 7.5 when this one is born! The age gap is pretty substaintial but I am starting to find some really good things about it! Just think, we will have great helpers!
10 weeks today! They weren’t able to pick up the heartbeat with the Doppler, but at least we got to see baby’s heartbeat flickering away on the little portable ultrasound machine. I’ve also realized y’all have some amazing ultrasound pictures compared to what they do at my office! Kinda jealous! 😂
ETA: I also found out I wouldn’t have another ultrasound until my anatomy scan, and I swear with DS I had one around 13 weeks, but the NP checked my chart, and I didn’t. I guess I’m losing my mind.
@megsb615 they don't do a NT scan? Can you ask for one anyway? I've realized a lot of places don't do a NT scan and I can't figure out why! I have one when I'll be exactly 12 weeks.
@DuchessOfCambridge I guess not. The NP was saying insurance only covers one ultrasound unless there is a reason to do another one. I’ll have to ask my OB about it at my next appt and see what he says. I was under the impression they would do one if I didn’t have genetic testing done.
