Hi everyone, hope it’s okay I’m starting this! I know it’s early but we got to see our little bean this morning (one of the very few perks of IF!) so here s/he is at 6w2d! Saw the sweetest little heartbeat there ever was. So amazing that there is so much there in such a very tiny little package!

@mrskoz428I don’t believe so, that should mainly be informational and probably some blood work! I am pretty sure most practices wait until 10-12 weeks for ultrasounds, but I could be wrong!

@mrskoz428 my experience with my last BMB is that when you get your first ultrasound ranges a lot. If you were going through fertility treatments or otherwise working with an RE, it'll likely be earlier. My OB will do one for anyone around 8 weeks to help date the pregnancy, which is pretty normal, but others don't have their first appt until 10-12 weeks and some will have an appointment earlier but not an ultrasound. Long story short, it varies, but I would recommend asking your doctor's office what you can expect at your first appointment. I knew I was having an ultrasound but thought it would be abdominal so went in with a full bladder (supposed to help see that early on) and it was vaginal which was really uncomfortable with the bladder pressure, too.
@mrskoz428 - Don't worry, mine is informational as well. Like @kvh22 said, it totally varies across providers/situations, so try not to compare too much.
@BWhitta Congratulations!! I missed this before asking how your u/s went in the weekly randoms. Such a relief to see a heartbeat, right? That's awesome news!
@secicc12 thank you so much!!!!! It was such a relief!!!!! We get to check again on Wednesday so I’m sure the nerves will start to creep up again, haha.

@BWhitta congratulations!!! That is so awesome you got to see the heartbeat!
We had an ultrasound last Friday at 5w2d, so it was too early to see anything but the gestational sac and the yolk sac, and the picture I got didn't even show that very clearly lol but it looked good for so early! We go back next Thursday at 7w1d so should just the heartbeat then! (Yolk sac is a very slight shape by the green cross hairs)
Oh wow! So exciting! I’m at a new practice from when I had my 3 year old (we moved) and will get to have my first sonogram at 8 weeks (scheduled for September 28th) I’ll go in to make sure hCG levels are increasing in a little over a week. I’m over the moon!

Second ultrasound looked good this morning! Measuring on track, nice strong heartbeat! My RE doesn’t use heat so they can’t measure the heart rate but she said by looking at it she’d guess it’s around 140. Really looking forward to (and nervous about) next week’s...I’ve never made it past 7 weeks so a good healthy week 8 scan will make this mama very happy!!!! The doctor said “can’t get much better than perfect”

First picture of our little peanut. Had one last week but it was just the sac. 6w so we saw the HB of 113 but she didn’t turn the audio on. Go back next week for another one! I get them frequently bc I am AMA, insulin resistant and with this pregnancy am having progesterone issues.
Perfect ultrasound yesterday, baby measured perfectly at 7weeks 1day! heard the most beautiful, strong heartbeat of 150! It was just what my anxious heart needed, I cried several times because i was so happy
Thanks for sharing these beautiful images ladies! It actually encourages me to push my US to 3 or 4 more days ahead. They booked me for one at 5 wks 4 days (I had an ectopic this time last year so my dr is taking precautions)
I will ask that they reschedule me to 6 weeks for more chances of getting heartrate information.

My pictures aren't that easy to take photos of with my phone. They keep coming out blurry. But we got one today at 6 weeks to the day. Strong HR at 122. DH and I cried. Looking good and on track. Will get another in two weeks.
Congrats! I have my first appointment on Thursday. I don't think they will do any ultra sound though. That is very early to get one, isn't it? When do most people get one?
These pictures are so encouraging! We have our first US this Wednesday (just a day and a half away) when our LO will be at 7 weeks 1 day. I really hope we get to hear the heart beat but even seeing the flicker will make all the anxiety go away. Praying for all you mamas! So glad we get to be on this journey together!
@rydellhigh most won't get one until closer to 10 weeks. Mine is early, as I'm considered high risk. I'm fortunate enough to have a great OB who is very accommodating to my anxiety as well.
@rydellhigh it's usually anywhere from 8-12 weeks, depending on the practice, if you don't have a history to take into consideration that would make it earlier.
This was taken by our RE at 6+1, no measurements on the heart rate, but it was flickering away! Little one is up above their yolk sac, huddled up against my uterus.
DD born PPROM preemie at 36 weeks on 10/1/17 after over a year TI, then 3 failed IUIs, and finally a successful IVF FET.

@beccabek92 Our US tech told us it was too early to actually hear the heartbeat but we did get to see baby’s heart moving and she was able to track it for us to get the bpm. It is 100% more encourgaging to finally get to see the baby on an ultrasound, although (at least in my case) it’ll be hard not seeing peanut again until we’re 20 weeks!
