  • @westcoastfoodie Oh hey, I remember you! Nice to "see" you again! If I'm remembering right, aren't you another LA area person? Glad you're feeling better. First tri is so, so hard.

  • @asun123 I feel you on just being exhausted getting through the days. I have two kids (4 and 6). I work full time, and then DH officiates soccer which is an evening and weekends type thing. I feel like I never have time alone :(

  • @faith0222 I don't really plan to bring or buy anything specific for my kids (4 and 6). Or, maybe I'll get them matching shirts or something (or a baby Captain America shirt to give the baby). They're excited enough about the idea of a little brother anyway, and frankly it's so close to Christmas and they just don't need more crap.

  • I'm not sure which one actually woke me up, but at 3am DS was awake momentarily in his crib and LO was kicking me like crazy. I couldn't fall back asleep for almost an hour it got me so awake. It's so sweet, but now I'm tired.

  • @westcoastfoodie Welcome back! I’m glad you are feeling better!

@faith0222  I hope you feel welcome to share whenever you have time! Re: gifts for big siblings  I was 2 1/2 when my brother was born and I remember ”him” giving me a stroller for my dolls. I actually still have it 25 years later!  I definitely plan on the baby bringing DS a gift, but with it being so close to Christmas, it will probably be something small.
  • Another random question/though...

Maternity pillows, What is a good one? I got one for my last pregnancy but it wasn’t all that great! I feel bad for my SO cuz he is giving up all his pillows to me so I could build a nest for comfert and Support plus use his body when I need to elevate my legs.

  • @faith0222 I have the C shaped Snoogle (not the full U shaped one) and it is a lifesaver!

  • How do y'all fit a snoogle into bed with you? We've got a queen bed, and honestly usually at least one kid in there with us (in addition to the dog). I can't imagine having the room for such a big pillow, but I want one so badly.

  • @runrinserepeat  we also have a queen and my DH takes up most of the space, but I lay on my side like in the bottom pic in the spoiler with the snoogle in front of me. The only difference is I use my own pillow and the snoogle goes above it.

  • @runrinserepeat We sleep in separate beds... :# That said, I keep the long end toward the edge of the bed, so I think H could sleep in there comfortably with me if he wanted to. But with a dog and an additional kid, that would be getting very tight.

  • @runrinserepeat we now have a king size bed so we all fit, but when we didn't I slept in a separate bed... mostly because of his snoring lol

  • It's been a while and I don't want to step on any toes... is there someone who usually posts the UO's? I'm so so bored avoiding work and have probably an equally boring UO  :D

  • FFTC: sometimes I'm annoyed that no one takes initiative to start posts (and it happened a lot in my last bmb that I had to start a lot) so then i boycotted starting posts  :D I'm a child

this thread in April 19 is kind of a mess: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12732672/pregnant-after-stillbirth#latest

I assume it will be shut down by the Bump gods sometime soon
  • Is anyone else having this issue with the app?

Everything is sooooo tiny, but if I zoom in enough to see it I can only see a fraction of a line at a time. It's maddening, and it's making it nearly impossible to keep up (desktop is fine, but I only used it at work and since I'm no longer there, this is how I get to view things all the time).

Which is to say, "Hi, I miss you all, but The Bump is determined to keep us apart."

@Jens_Hoes I saw that thread in its infancy and cringed soooo hard.  I could not believe how rude that first response was.

We have a king sized bed. However by morning time I usually have 2 littles who have made their way to the bed, so I don’t use my snoogle at all. :(
  • @AGK2015 I do not have that problem. However, the ads that keep popping up at the bottom are blocking me being able to go to the main December 2018 page, so I keep having to exit the app completely and fully open it in order to open different right threads.
  • @westcoastfoodie This group is super relaxed about stuff like that, so don’t stress!

@Jens_Hoes *TW That April thread almost made me cry when I first saw it. I've experienced MCs, but I cannot imagine the pain of a stillbirth, especially that far along. I had a friend of a friend in a similar situation (very late term stillbirth) and she is still devastated and in therapy years later. I am so glad people spoke up and said something. end TW*

@runrinserepeat I have been struggling with the same thing - we have a queen, the toddler ends up in there some nights and it just feels like too tight of a squeeze for a snoogle, but I have been having pelvic pain at night, so I kind of want to try it. Let me know if you take the leap and how it works out!

Edited to add @AGK2015 I had been having so many problems with the stupid app I just stopped using it and started accessing the bump through my safari browser and it's been SOOOOO much better! Highly recommend!
  • Re: pillows - For those without a lot of room, maybe try a cheaper/smaller option first. I found a $15 wedge pillow at Fred Meyer and have been using that when I have pelvic pain. I use my normal pillows for my head and knees still and just use a tiny portion of the wedge to support my belly/uterus. It seems to be working pretty well and doesn't feel overwhelmingly large like a snoogle would. (I also get really hot during the night, and feel that a snoogle would make me overheat even more.)
