Hi, I am a mom and a BA student at the
University of Amsterdam doing an anonymous, non-commercial linguistic study on
maternal language. May I share my academic link with your community? The guidelines
say no surveys with monetary gain but this is purely academic research questionnaire
with no monetary gain is that ok? Thanks 😊

AFM, we have officially decided on a final four to bring with us to the hospital and I really like all of them! My husband says I get to choose, which is exciting (and also a lot of pressure.) As I said before, we'll probably just wait to see which name suits the baby after he's born but this is our final four!
William Fox
Fox William
Christopher Fox (nickname Kit)
Kit William (just going for the name we would call him all the time anyway)
I feel so relieved to have a final set of names to bring to the hospital and feel like I'll be happy with any of them.
If it's a boy: Henry (we'll call him Hank); if it's a girl: Beatrice (Bea, for short).
Both of these are family names that we both love so it was easy but we're not sure which direction to go in with middles. I'm really torn on whether to go modern to balance the classic first names, or stick with classic to match. We have a long last name (ends in -ski) so we want to be careful not to burden our kid with anything complicated or cumbersome.
HELP!
I do know someone with a Beatrix Louise.

@echo-charlietango Honestly, it can be kind of a pain in the ass to do, depending on where you live! It took us over a year and $1000 to get it legal through the courts in CA! Maybe they got put off by the process? I wish it were much easier to do! Maybe in the future!

Re: Last names
I did not taken my husband’s last name but have given our DD and now this ones DH’s. When it comes to traveling, in addition to DD’s passport we also carry a copy of her birth certificate. We have never had a problem but it has crossed my mind that my name doesn’t match hers. The birth certificate is all you need for traveling with in the US and your maiden name is on that.

Elliot Marshall
Luke Marshall
Elijah "eli" Marshall
Thoughts? I love them all!
My current list:
Walter
Cole
Charles
Henry
Davis
Arthur
Max
Everytime I feel like I have a favourite it just seems so permanent. DH thinks we should wait until he is born and decide in the moment but I am such a planner that I can't stop obsessing over it. And of course... then my list keeps growing rather than shrinking LOL
@knottie06 Cute names! My fav out of those is Elijah (Eli)... it’s my godson’s name so I’m partial!
@courtneyqdk I looove Henry! It was on my list for a boy but dh nixed it. We’re having a girl and done after this anyway.
BFP #1: 7/15/15, SB: 11/14/15
Rainbow baby DS born 9/29/16!!
BFP #3 3/26/18 | Due 12/3/18
Here are the ones we kinda like so far...
Sloane
Parker
Delaney
And after reading and catching up on this thread I’m thinking of maybe a more traditional name because I don’t want her name to “date” her or tell her age. So I’m also considering Elizabeth (my middle name) or Katherine.

Vaden Konnor or Konnor Vaden
Vaden was my recently deceased mother's maiden name and so far its the only way I've found that i like to incorporate her name into his. She had very feminine names.
