I already have tickets to a consignment sale in August to keep me busy lol
Two more weeks of work but i know I’ll be useless next week. Still sad about my fruit loops (geez what is this craving about?!) so i might go out this morning to exchange them and also get me some chick fil a breakfast. Yummy and H will never know!
Eta, DS still has his morning cough so gonna make a doc appointment. He also has a rash that won’t go away above his penis (pelvic area) but doesn’t seem to bother or grow so hopefully the doctor will let me text her a picture for now. It just stays red no matter what i do.
  • I’m not even looking at baby clothes anymore so I’m not tempted lol.

@wildtot hopefully your DS’s rash is nothing!

I don’t even mean to...they just fall into my lap. Luckily, i have a good size range of clothes 3-12m.

@wildtot is that normal to be able to just send in pics to dr? If so, how convenient!
  • @And846 the last time DS had hives the nurse let H text a picture so I’m hoping they’ll let me. Not sure if it’s the norm. But i like them because they have late appointments on Thursdays and Saturdays half day so it’s nice to have them available and avoid the urgent care.

@foxbaby2016 seriously this poop/contraction game is frustrating! All of a sudden I’m also getting a lot of gas cramps that only the baby movements seem to help push out. Ugh
  • Our family practice clinic got a new online system and it includes the ability to send over pictures.  So cool!  If it's something related to a prescription they wrote or a follow up question from a visit, it's free.  Otherwise I think they charge it to insurance as a virtual doctor's visit with a lower copay.  I haven't done that yet, so I'm not sure but I accidentally clicked that button when trying to email my doc asking for a heartburn prescription and read that note.

I'm going to lunch today with one of my best friends from college who I haven't seen in person in over 4 years.  I'm SO excited!!!!  We don't do a great job of keeping up with each other, but it's one of those friendships where we can just pick back up where we left off without any awkwardness.  They live in the DC/Baltimore area - I keep hoping they'll move back to TX!
  • @MichelleAG05 that sounds so fun! It's so nice to have friendships like that-- I have a couple like that too.
I wish my OB would take email questions. But I could see that getting overwhelming on their end, too.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • Gotta love waking up with shoulders in a knot every morning! Side sleeping is getting old. DH goes "3 more weeks honey". Yup, 3 more weeks , then I just won't sleep! Hoping the day is pretty easy.

I also need to stop with clothes. I trick myself with the returns "oh I'll just return this" - and then I end up returning and buying more.

My OB has an app and he's been messaging me test results and we've exchanged a few messages about meds when I was sick a couple of times. He responds quickly but he told me he doesn't take more than a certain amount of patients in because he still wants to have enough time for his family. So hopefully he doesn't feel too overwhelmed.
  • @kissableviv my husband gives me the countdown too. I keep telling him that isn't overly helpful haha

  • @rachelsogo lol that is pretty funny! I am super grateful to have *parts* of my body back and at least some range of movement but I don't think he knows that there won't be anymore sleep as we know it for years :)
  • @rachelsogo now that is awesome!  :D

  • Congratulations @TalesOfASocialIntrovert I hope you have a speedy recovery and that the babe is out of the NICU soon!

@canucklehead123 Boo to your husband waking you up. My husband does the same thing when I'm snoring and I get so annoyed. I'm like, does it look like I'm sleeping soundly? Then leave me alone and go on the couch if it bothers you, lol.
  • And846And846 member
@canucklehead123 same here! And it’s usually after I’m comfortable and sleeping that i get a harsh wake up and am told to move positions. Good intentions but come on!
  • I'm on maternity leave but we are keeping DD in preschool because we don't want to totally disrupt her routine, lose her spot and because she has a blast there and loves going.

I took her super late today because we were playing, had breakfast together and there was just no rush. I thought it was a nice little morning but when we got there she kept asking me why we were so late and saying "you brought me to school late." Thanks kid, I thought we were having fun.

So now I finally have time to get to work on the house and baby room, currently known as the amazon box/where we dump clean laundry room. All I really want to do is go spend money at sephora and buy myself some cute post baby summer clothes though.

  • I feel like Christmas in June. We are receiving some late registry gifts and I love them! Someone got us the Hatch night light which I really wanted. So nice to have the sweetest friends! Also got some AWESOME nursing tanks, if you ladies are still looking I will link them in the Deals and Steals thread.

@runsomewhere enjoy your leave and good luck organizing! I am not on leave but my boss has considerably reduce my load as I am focusing on training the new person so I am hoping the next couple of weeks will be easy.
  • lol @runsomewhere!!! I think your child is channeling my energy - I hate being late!!

On a related (and annoying note)... the wait list is full for the day care that I want LO to go to (in 20 months from now...lol)...Grr!!!!

Can't believe I'm two weeks away from my c-section! (And hopefully I'll make it till then, though I haven't been having any contractions or anything, so I should be okay for now, I suppose.)

After my prenatal massage this upcoming Saturday, I may try to convince DH to check out the consignment sale of newborn/0-3 months clothes at one of our local libraries. Baby clothes are something like $1 or $2, so even if baby will outgrow them quickly, why not?....
  • @kissableviv that's fun! I just looked at what the Hatch night light was, neat! I swear baby gear got even cooler since I had DD 2.5+ years ago. I'm thrilled to be on leave and I really need this time. Since hubby and I both work the weekends and evenings are family time not getting baby stuff ready time so I am behind! I do however feel a bit guilty having all this free time.

I'm glad your boss is being realistic and allowing you time to train the new person  :)

  • @canucklehead123 I think that's super sweet of your husband....maybe next time he can try to roll you over without waking you up though  :pensive:

@sm05-2 I'm also exactly two weeks away from my scheduled induction (if she doesn't come before) So exciting!!!
  • @emsnedds For me, boy names are SO much easier. I am having a girl and it has been SO difficult to settle on something. I am praying that once we see her, we will be able to make a decision.
  • @foxbaby2016 same! I hate having to pick a name regardless of sex but it was significantly easier with both my boy names
  • emsnedemsned member
@foxbaby2016 Do you have a couple favorites? If so, then maybe you’ll be able to say “she looks like a this” and hopefully it will make name choosing easier (:
  • @emsnedds - I definitely think boy names are harder.

In our birth class they told us to all pretend like we were going the "max" 42 weeks.  With my doc, she won't go past 41 so DH spends each pregnancy basically telling me to ignore my due date and plan for the full term.  Which is what happened with DD and what I'm starting to think may happen with this little dude too!  So, I guess that means I should start thinking about having 4 weeks left instead of 3.
  • @lindsayleigh1989 you are scheduled for a c-section next week right?!

I also say that I have maximum one week longer than my due date remaining. Not hoping to go that long but u never know! So...I have maximum 5 weeks left now!

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • @MichelleAG05 and @emsnedds +1 for boy names being harder - we're finally down to 12 - we always plan to go in with 2-3 top names and hold baby before we pick name.  SIL, DH, and I all went into the hospital being named something totally different than what is written on our birth certificates!

@And846 right there with you! My EDD is 7/31 but just got scheduled for CS on 7/24 so still so many weeks to go...this kid is being so much more trouble than DD was!

AFM - GC called this morning and all the tile came in early so we could start the kitchen a week early - happy birthday to me - except DH hasn't been able to assemble a single cabinet due to hospital stay :( I put the call out to all our local family/friends to see who can come over to help him.

  • If you had to pick, would you get your carpets washed or house cleaned by someone? We wanted to do both, but to cut down on expenses we are trying to decide what would be best. H said we can do the cleaning but I won't be able to get down a scrub for much longer.
  • @wildtot I'd say definitely the carpets if you had to choose - think about all the upcoming tummy time!!

  • @foxbaby2016 I so agree about the poop game, honestly I didn’t even know labor felt like that and my DH keeps bringing that up. My suspicion is he must have read 1 of the million books I bought for him about pregnancy lol

@rachelsogo that funny and annoying as heck!!

  • I can't even try to think about going 1 week past my due date...I know it's a possibility, but I've been counting down these months, weeks, days from the beginning...you can't pay me to add another week again! At one of my earlier ultrasounds I measured like a day behind and I got so mad at the thought of that...lol I will plan to think about the extra week when I get there if it happens.

@wildtot oooo that's a tough questions. I'd say carpets washed since that's something best left to the professionals? House cleaning would be nice, but it is something you can do yourselves (especially nice if your H helps)

  • I would start with a deep cleaning for the house. Although usually carpet cleaning requires moving furniture around so you may wanna do that now. How many rooms in your house have carpet? Only the bedrooms upstairs have carpet here.
