Started selfishly. The only "Product Spotlight" we have left is one called "check our work." Looking at June, it appears like this is just a, "Hey STM+. I was thinking about doing this what am I missing? Will that work?" thread. We kind of cover that with our "Ask a STM+" thread. Do you think we should just be done and all questions go in "Ask a STM+"?
@SmashJam I think all additional questions can go in the ask a atm thread! Or we can bring back other product spotlights if it's relevant. Thank you for running the product spotlight thread this whole time! It's been awesome and so helpful so great job!!

Good lord! My show opened this weekend which means I basically ran my show three nights in a row between the first 2 performances and dress. The show was just a bunch of Disney songs for about 75 min with singing, dancing, etc.. I feel like I have been run over by a freight train this morning. Thank goodness I don't have anything after work all week. I might need a nap in the wellness room.
I attended a softball tournament this weekend and went to a small town street dance Saturday night. Yesterday my feet doubled in size. They were huge! So when I got home I made sure to prop them until I went to bed. This morning they are looking mostly normal but oh my gosh are they SORE! Along with my back and my pelvis so I'm hobbling around my office today. It's only guys here so far and they are all giving me worried looks like I'm about to go into labor...

@MrsMiller8588 what a fun day, but sorry to hear your feet doubled in size! Glad that putting your feet up helped.
Yesterday I wore these new sandals I got, and my feet decided to swell up even more, in spite of my sandals being bigger than my other shoes (my size went up half a size). Putting my feet up doesn’t help—my feet are swollen all the time. My doctor isn’t worried about it, but I wish they’d go back down to normal. Maybe after the baby is born?
I'm trying to catch up after being MIA (at the lake) all weekend, however the drive-by posts (and ensuing GIFS) are cracking me up. I'm always down for a good laugh on a Monday morning.
I am not complaining nor am I bragging...I just feel weird ladies. I'm 37 weeks and I suddenly feel GREAT. No swelling, no back pain, no leg pain, no braxton hicks, no cramping, no indigestion, no cravings...nothing. Everything I had been experiencing that was reminding me that labor isn't far off is gone. I feel excellent....I even rolled out of bed this morning without straining and I have a ton of energy. Please don't get me wrong, I am so grateful..especially because I have a 2 year old to chase after BUT it also makes me feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever or something is wrong because I felt so terrible just last week (you know...that excessive "Mom" anxiety that makes you worry over EVERY little thing). With my last pregnancy, I remember feeling gradually worse until the day he came...now I feel like I'm going backwards and it's messing with me!
Congrats to the ladies that gave birth over the weekend! @hayhay93 and @rizzige03 your babies are gorgeous!
@SmashJam I read the story about your DH in the other thread. I hope you've gotten everything straightened out with him by this time. I would have been SO pissed. I'm sorry you are going through that.
EDIT TO ADD - I really hope that doesn't sound braggy....I've just been feeling "off" about the whole thing...maybe some of you are feeling the same way and it's normal?
@foxbaby2016 I’m glad you’re feeling great! I wish I could say the same lol. I hear you on the mom anxiety though. I was up for a while last night panicking about LO because he had a sleepy day yesterday. I was trying to flop my belly around to wake him up and it wasn’t working for a while. I finally got him to move enough to ease my mind and he’s been busy this morning so far but yikes I hate that freaky feeling.
@hillbillywife Glad your LO started moving....I also hate when that happens. And no worries, I just sneezed and peed myself so I guess I'm not 100% symptom free.
@foxbaby2016 I've been the same this whole time. Honestly my worst weeks were 30-32. Even then, it wasn't terrible. LO is consistently active now so that has me feeling good and I finally put on a couple of pounds so I'm not too concerned about the size. I'm 36+2.
I also have no swelling, back pain ot heartburn, and I still sleep roughly 7 hours per night. I have a good amount of energy too. So, same here, not bragging, but just saying I'm also feeling like you and I know it can change at any moment, so I'm just grateful for any good day I have!
Well, yesterday was another day for L&D (without a baby). Had a massive headache all day and when I finally realized I should check my BP, it was high. I monitored it for over an hour and it remained high so off we went. It remained a little elevated there but bloodwork and urine looked good. When they were ready to discharge me, LOs HR decelled to 50 bpm (his baseline yesterday was otherwise 165). Since they planned to send me home, it didn't look like anyone was actually watching the monitors from the nurses station. I called them on the buzzer and was like, "ah, that looks like a big decel...?" They came running in and flipped me on my side, then my other, then my hands and knees while trying to find a HB. When they found it, he was still at 50. They put me on oxygen and had someone grab the ultrasound. His HR recovered after almost 4 minutes but holy hell, was it scary for me and DH (he's never seen one of the decels). They monitored for a while longer then sent us home. Said LO looked good before and after so the on call doc wasn't concerned. They also said to just follow up with my regular OB today to see if they want to do more testing.
I can't believe how helpless it felt, especially being in the hospital! There isn't actually an OB present, just on call, so it's not like they could have rushed me into surgery or anything. They also said decels are normal and they usually just don't see them bc women aren't on monitors 24/7. But they have seen them and if I've had as many during NSTs (3 with 2 being over 3 minutes long), how many am I having at home?? And it's not like I know and can just change position to help the kid. I see my OB for a NST today at 3 and needless to say, I have lots of questions and concerns. My c section is scheduled for next week Tuesday and it doesn't make sense to wait 1 week longer for what seem like unreasonable or arbitrary reasons (37 weeks vs 38 weeks) to deliver.
I for one feel like a creaky cranky marshmallow lady- no swelling yet though so I do have something to be thankful for!
DS woke up at 5:30 and has been miserable ever since. The only break I got from his attitude was at the vet where he miracously did a 180 and was really well behaved... Then I had to fight with him all the way home not to fall asleep in the car so I could salvage nap time at home, I may or may not have bribed him with donuts.
@foxbaby2016 I say just enjoy the good days and don't worry about it, as long as baby is moving fine.
I went to dinner at my mom and step dad's last night and saw a bunch of family. My sister remarked on how much better I seemed this pregnancy than last, because last time I was freakishly swollen all over - my feet, hands, and face were all puffy and I just didn't look like myself. This time I'm not really swollen at all, except a tiny bit in my ankles. I told her I may look better on the outside, but this pregnancy overall is way more of a struggle for me, between GD, the toddler, sciatica, baby being super low and head butting my cervix all day long, etc. I guess the GD is a blessing in disguise since it has probably been the thing that's kept the swelling at bay since my diet is so much better this time, but the mental toll its taken on me has been tough. I also think my MFM might want to start insulin for fasting this week because I only had two normal fasting numbers in the past 7 days, but we'll see. I just hope that wouldn't mean earlier induction or more monitoring during labor. If I can come out of this pregnancy without needing pitocin and without being strapped to wires and machines during labor (and of course if the outcome is a happy healthy baby), I will be really relieved.
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert ugh that must have been so scary! I’m surprised they’re not more concerned after that happening multiple times or at least considering an earlier CS. Definitely advocate for yourself at your appt, I dont know if I could worry about that for another whole week!
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that is scary, did they look to see if the decel happened during a contraction or anything? Also it seems like they shouldn't have to use oxygen for several minutes just to get the heart rate back up. In that case it's not recovering on its own. Was it just nurses making the decision to send you home since there was no OB on call? Sometimes during NSTs my baby will move off the monitor, and the heart rate will go from 150, suddenly to 80, and then it just shows a line and you can't hear it anymore, and then they come adjust the monitor to pick it back up, so I always assumed that decel was false, and was actually just the baby moving off the monitor. But if it's consistently picking that low heart rate up for minutes at a time, that seems concerning. I hope you get some answers and your concerns are addressed today!
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that's super scary! Only happened to me once to see a big decel but that's because I moved and lost the signal, went back up right away. Make sure you ask all the questions and potentially discuss moving your C section up. Keep us posted!
I also can't believe how close some of us are getting with the scheduled c sections and all. Pretty soon the birth stories thread will start filling up!
Thanks @zande2016 It didn't happen with a contraction (only 1 of the 3 times has). I was just sitting normal in bed. And I think the oxygen was more for me than him. I was definitely not breathing normal, more like holding my breath. I didn't have a pulse ox on initial so when they put it on, my O2 was in the upper 80s. They did run the trace by the OB on call and he said since LO was good before and after, I was fine to go home. They do have a midwife or PA on the floor (who I saw initially) and I assume she looked at the readings too. And it definitely was a true decel. It traced in the 50s for about 2 minutes before they lost the reading when they put me on my hands and knees. It did pick up a few more times in the 50s before it recovered into the 140s.
Thanks @kissableviv I've had a few other instances where the baby moves and it drops for a second but the 3 true decels lasted between 1.5 and 3.5-4 minutes and traced well.
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert I'm sorry that you had that scary experience. I would have a hard time leaving after that. Glad you're seeing your OB today, I hope they answer all your questions. Keep us updated.
@foxbaby2016 I'm glad you're feeling well! There is nothing wrong with feeling good and positive comments are just as valuable and welcome as not so positive ones!
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that sounds so scary! Hope they’ll move your c section like you want! Sounds like you don’t need the stress of them waiting another week.
@flockofmoosen3 I have to say I’m pretty stumped on that one
Wow @TalesOfASocialIntrovert, I'm with you - I would likely be very adamant about either moving the date up or providing me with very good counter reasons why not to do that.
I have exactly 0 meetings on my calendar today and have only gotten 2 emails all day. I took a nap earlier and am about to go pick up lunch.
@MrsMiller8588@sm05-2 so much swelling all the time. I can't escape it! Can't wait for those to go down.

@nimmle Props to you! I couldn't imagine tackling all that while 8 months pregnant. Good job doing that for the entire weekend!
@mrsmiller8588 It's insanely hot these days!! My feet are always huge on the weekends when we stay outside a lot. If it's a lax office you should play a little joke on them since they're worried about you going into labor. haha
@sm05-2 my MIL just told me to buy my shoes at night since your feet are the biggest then. I have no idea if that's actually true or not, but if it is they'll at least fit all the time just might be a little bigger during the day!
@foxbaby2016 I'm glad you're feeling well! I would soak up allllll of it you can even if it only lasts a day or so. I'm not sure how many days you'll get here at the end, but don't feel bad for it!
@hillbillywife I'm glad you got little man moving! I hate that feeling, I went to L&D once so far because she wasn't moving, but was just being stubborn that day.
@kissableviv just go away with your perfect pregnancy! haha. Kidding. I think I'm most jealous of your solid sleep schedule.
@talesofasocialintrovert that hospital visit seems ridiculous to me! I hope your doctor has some good advice or decides to take you early. There's no need to risk anything and LO is officially full term at 37 weeks, so bring on the baby!
Just finished my nst. All is looking good, except we got to talk about labor and my doctor said he wants me to go to the hospital if my water breaks (or is it waters break?? Anyways.). He says it may take time to get a bed and he wants to decrease the risk of infection. I thought it is safe to wait for 24 hrs? I mean I really wouldn't wanna rush there if I don't even have contractions...he also keeps talking about pitocin which I need to make sure he understands it's not something I want unless I need it. I understand he is concerned about infections but I also don't like all these preventative interventions. Reminder to let him know next time.
The good thing is he says he is going to do all he can to avoid a c section as he doesn't see any reasons to have one at least the way things have been looking, at least he is not the type that would rush to the OR unless absolutely necessary.
@gspmom21 sorry! Haha. People are already jinxing me telling me I'll have a horrible labor. I find that a little bit hurtful but luckily I don't care, like my doctor says, the baby is the boss in all of this so I just have to trust he wants to get out when it's time and my body will do the rest!
Here's hoping we can enjoy these last few weeks one waynor another, even with less and less sleep and space in out bellies.
I got my Amazon delivery with depends pads and told my DH sorry this isn't very glamorous and he said "hey, you're growing a kid and I think that's pretty cool, I definitely can't do that! So do what you need to do!". Whether he was lying or not, it was pretty sweet and he does have a point... regardless of what our pregnancies have looked like, we are all badasses!
@kissableviv is this your OB's recommendation in general or is he being more strict with you? I think it's great that he's thinking ahead and doing everything to avoid a c section but why the pitocin talk already? I have nothing but respect for OBs but man they sure love the pitocin.
@runsomewhere right? I know that just because if your waters break it doesn't mean labor will progress but I am for sure giving it a chance before I go into any interventions...thankfully I am sure my doula will help vouching for me. Also, I highly doubt my hospital will have me wait more than an hour for a bed, as much as it's busy + it's summer I have not heard of anyone waiting more than an hour or so - at least judging from all my yoga moms who have given birth there recently...but I could be wrong.
My OB's wife is due 2 weeks after me so at least I know for sure he will be around for 4th of July, lol. It would be funny if her and I go into labor at the same time (she is at her 3rd...).
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert that is really scary and yes, leaves you with a lot of questions. I hope you get some answers soon!
@kissableviv he probably is being overly cautious. I'd take what he says and how you feel and kind of blend them together. Also, what a sweet thing for DH to say
@flockofmoosen3 ummm that pic is hysterical and leaves me with so many questions
@foxbaby2016 good for you girl! Live it up while you can. I feel pretty great also, but have pretty much this whole time. You dont have to be miserable to go in to labor
@kissableviv I haven't talked to my dr yet about birth plan or other expectations, but I do know that at my hospital they recommend coming in when your water breaks whether or not you are having contractions. I thought it was to be in a controlled environment to help prevent infection and also because labor can come fast once waters break.
I *think* the 24 hour recommendation is actually when they want the baby to be out not when they want you in the hospital. But that might be old I've heard 36 hrs recently?
Me: 31 DH: 34 Married: April 2016 TTC December 2016 BFP 2/28/17 // CP 3/1/17 MFI Diagnosis: Aug 2017 BFP 11/1/17 // DS born 6/18 TTC January 2019 BFP 3/21/19 // D&C (MMC) 5/8/19
I would want to go to the hospital if my water broke, if at least to get intermittent monitoring to ensure everything is okay without that cushion and to reduce the infection chances. I think the most important thing to do in these next appointments is talk to our doctors about what we do and don't prefer in a birth. My doc knows that I want to avoid pitocin unless we've tried everything else.
My mom kept trying to tell me this weekend that I needed to ask to see my placenta because "it's so cool". I told her that I was going to vomit if she didn't stop talking about it.
@SmashJam@MrsMiller8588 you are be right - the 24 hrs is the recommended time for baby to be born after the water breaks. Good thing I have my birth class stuff ready to review because there are so many things to remember! I guess I won't rush out of the house but I will get ready and go if that is what happens. we are literally 7 minutes away, which is good!
I feel the same about the placenta...no need to see that!
