afm, sorry for being MIA. This has turned into a very busy week, which is not a bad thing. I haven't PAOS and being a procrastinator I managed to postpone going to the store to buy a HPT NGL the beta tomorrow stresses me out a little. As I'm sure is the case for everyone.
How many days do they usual take between betas? Is it always 2 days or did your clinic have a different approach? I've seen a few ladies here going to 4 betas but I assume that depends on the individual person and their numbers. But I wonder if there is a consensus about the 1st and 2nd beta.
@more14 lol thanks for the tip. My boobs aren’t really big enough to put the syringe under to get warm. Plus I’m sharing a room with two other Women. It’s already been weird to have to do my shots. I was trying to get it over with. I definitely bruised myself though. There’s now a large welt like bump and it hurts when my purse brushes against it when walking. -_-
as for betas, typically 2 day gap unless a weekend falls in there. I only had four betas bc my hcg started out so low. The first time, I only had two.
Here’s our little one. We only saw one gestational sac and baby is measuring 5w6d. RE said he saw flickerings of a heart beat (we didn’t see anything) and attempted to measure it but we couldn’t hear it. Honestly, when he showed us the baby on the monitor DH and I both didn’t see anything. Lol but I guess when looking at the photo I can see it now.
I’m still on watch for ectopic since we did transfer 2 embabies. He explained all possible outcomes. It was great to get an US so early but after RE was done prodding at my uterus, ovaries and tubes I started spotting and the nurse reassured me it was normal since the cervix is sensitive. Fx the spotting will stop by tomorrow if not sooner and that baby continues to snuggle in and grow. Next US is next Friday and will hopefully see/hear a strong heart beat!

Beta at 34 - so super cautiously pregnant! 2nd Beta on Monday but I'm FREAKING OUT because I'm a leader for a camping trip next week and now we've got to find a clinic closer to where I'll be since we'll be 2.5 hours away from our normal location!
@more14 Not anywhere, it's in the same health system. I doctor at Mayo Clinic so I can go to another Mayo location closer to my work trip since the systems are all connected.
Fantastic updates @more14 and @ASabelko - Delighted to see these!!!! Best of luck to both of your tomorrow

Hey all. I got a bit of a fright yesterday evening. Saw some brown spotting. Thankfully it was just the once and I haven't seen anything since (all night was clear) so I'm very stubbornly telling myself that this is normal at this stage. I had planned on going to my GP this morning - and then last night thought I better not in case something is wrong - but now I determined everything is ok - so I'm going over to see him now.
@more14 Hang in there I know what you mean - once you get the positive you live in fear that it'll be snatched out from under you. When are you in for Beta 2?

Ugh what a morning. My GP wasn't at all happy that I had any spotting and wanted to refer me to the ER! I kept saying it was brown and very little and it stopped but he was adamant I had to at least contact my clinic and that they'd scan me. Took me ages (well it at least felt like ages!!) to get through to my clinic - but finally got one of the nurses and she assured me that it was perfectly normal and probably just from the Crinone. She was VERY confident so I'm going to try to relax about this. My GP has a history of being overly-cautious. Feck - I feel like I need a drink after all that!!!

@roisis I’m sorry for the scare! Brown spotting is very normal, I think it’s only red that you need to be concerned about, BUT better to get it checked out than not! I’m glad the nurse was more reassuring
@more14 I felt the same way re: nerves! I seem to get more nervous the further it goes. I’m so nervous for my ultrasound this Friday! Hopefully you can be more zen than me
About me: *TW*
Me:
34, DH: 38
TTC #1 June of 2014 9/14 BFP, baby boy EDD 5/18/15.
Elias (Eli) born 5/13/15 7lb0oz, 19 inches.
Surprise BFP 10/15, live
ectopic, lost ruptured tube on 11/5/15 at 8 weeks
Started TTC #2 2/16
HSG 1/18 after no BFPs- diagnosed w/ tubal infertility and referred to RE
@roisis so sorry you had such a scare, but like @mayflower513 said, it's red spotting that should worry you. I hope you're feeling better and are able to relax and enjoy the day. However, if you're worried still, at any point, go and get yourself checked! Your peace of mind is worth the hassle.
@mayflower513 I know how you feel! The first u/s after the BFP I was so nervous my reflux flared up. These pregnancies are so important and precious to us, because of the long and difficult way we have to go to achieve them, that every stop along the way is so monumental. Things that any other woman won't even think twice of going through is a hurdle for us. But we're here together for each other so hang in there! We're all rooting for you!
AFM, I'm at the clinic, waiting for my turn I'll update in a few hours when I have results
@roisis I had the same scare last night only my blood was bright red and even small clots/tissue. DH and I were at a movie and I saw a little red tissue in the bowl then wiped again and more blood. Freaked out and immediately drove to urgent care. Doc on call did pelvic exam and said amt of blood was light and not what she’d seen with MC. Also said cervical os was still closed saying that was a good sign. No more blood/spotting when I wipe but waiting for my clinic to open to see if they’ll scan me today. My googling is saying best case scenario is a sub chorionic hematoma.
In other news, I also found out a close colleague of mine is pregnant again a year after giving birth and she’s due two weeks after me, meaning she’s barely 4 weeks and just found out. She was so excited and all I can think to myself is what a freaking luxury it is for you to feel that way. I haven’t been able to feel calm, much less feel comfortable saying I’m pregnant, and now the spotting. Life isn’t fair. Fucking infertility. /end rant
@northbeach3 so sorry you have to go through this! IF is really fucked up and unfair! Let it out, shout it out and get it off your chest whenever you need to because it's true and it's frustrating. I hope your clinic can take you in today and FX everything is OK with the little bean!
i called and left message with nurse... she said RE would call back at some point. fortunately, bleeding seems to have subsided but still hope they can do a scan today.
@more14, i can only imagine the worry you may have. you're not out yet, so sending hcg doubling vibes your way and a strong showing on wednesday.
@asabelko looking good... are they done with betas? did you get a date for your first us? or an EDD?
@northbeach3 Oh god, that must be so scary, I'm so sorry. It's still so early though - and the fact that the bleeding has stopped is a really good sign. All my thoughts are with you
@more14 I can understand being cautious - but still going in the right direction and I've read lots of reassuring stories from women who Betas only increased slowly. You're certainly not out yet - FX

@mayflower513 there was clearly a gestational sac and a bit more fuzzy yolk sac, but hard to measure what might be the fetal pole. my brain is creating a host of possible explanations. the theory that is winning is that because my initial betas were lower than average, i had late implantation and the growth is a few days behind. i read online that the fetal heartbeat can be detected only after reaching a certain level of hcg (17K - 22K). i'm checking my health portal like crazy b/c they did another beta last night... but based on the nurse's calcs, she said it probably would be in the 8-10K range... so praying it's just too early to see anything.
but what led to the bleeding -- i have no idea, b/c he said he did NOT see any subchorionic hematomas. i wasn't doing any exercise and we haven't had sex... so it's a mystery.
