Re: Randoms Week of 5/21

  • @omnommer I have a dress pretty similar to this :https://www.lulus.com/products/far-wanderings-peach-long-sleeve-shift-dress/338752.html that is loose all around, that I bought for when I was 3 months postpartum. That might be your best guess to have a "looser" type of dress

    @PensiveCrayon Check your PMs :wink:

@omnommer Oh! I wore this dress to a wedding last month: https://amzn.to/2Lss24j The smocked waist was comfortable, and the print seemed busy enough to distract from my actual shape. I'm 5'3" and formerly a sz4 also, I ordered a medium. I paired it with goldenrod tights and brown shoes:

  • @Jens_Hoes @echo-charlietango Thank you, thank you! Both those are super cute. Putting them on my list to think about this weekend. If I order online, I definitely have to order something this weekend to make sure it comes quick enough to try on and confirm that it looks okay. :)

  • Today has been thoroughly uneventful, except maybe for the fact that I had a performance review at work and by all accounts I'm killing it. Regardless, I'd really like to just go home and cry into my pillow for the rest of the day. IDK why, and I just can't shake the sadness.

Showered, put on makeup, and actually "did" my hair this morning, only to realize that I'm going to have to get all dirty and sweaty this evening because I signed up to be a stop on my city's garden tour and the lady in charge is coming over for a visit, and my garden is currently an absolute disaster because I've been re-potting/transplanting a bunch of stuff, and I feel like she will judge me if it's messy.  Wooooof.

@runrinserepeat sorry you’re feeling down:(. Maybe a good cry will make you feel better and wash the funk away!
  • Anyone else feeling reeeaally anxious about spilling the preggo beans at work? My boss (who’s a friend) and a handful of other close friends know but my little pot belly is starting to get more noticeable and I think people are going to start wondering soon. I work with mostly guys so they’re pretty clueless but there’s some catty women that I’m dreading to deal with. A year ago shortly after my first miscarriage an older woman I work with asked when I was going to start a family and what I was waiting for. My response was - I have a family, I have a stepson. Ugh!
  • @countrygirl624 I was nervous, and have only told my direct supervisors, but i was pleasantly surprised by how supportive and understanding (and protective!) they have been. And they've been able to keep it under wraps until I am ready to tell everyone, which won't be for another 3 wks or so.  I am actually going to be leaving one of my jobs in the summer because of the high risk environment, and my boss even took that news surprisingly well.  She is waiting for me to tell everyone my happy news before announcing that I'll be leaving.  Sometimes things go better than expected!  I wish you luck!

@runrinserepeat I’m sorry, the struggle is real during pregnancy. I hope it lifts soon.

Random: I put myself in the pregnancy penalty box today bc I noticed I’m super sour and hyyyyypersensitive to oh, anything anyone says or I think they may say. My spouse bought orange cauliflower and I nearly called him at work to rant about it. Seriously, why is that a big deal, self? (But also seriously, who does that? The only orange foods should be oranges, or labeled kraft or velveeta.)

  • Our power went out almost 2 hours ago and won't be back on for another 3. Seriously? Wtf? It rained pretty hard for about 20 minutes and then stopped. If this is how it's suppose to be this weekend but worse with a tropical storm then I better get used to being without power.

  • @hbmama21 Oh gosh, me too. The attitude I have this time around is RIDIULOUS! I've been way more aware of it lately so when I feel like I'm about to be a jerk to DH, I bite my tongue. It hasn't been as bad these past couple days, so maybe I'm coming out of it.

I stayed up WAY later last night than I should have and read through that catfish thread. WOW.

RE ice animal crackers! Yum. My MIL gave DS some for Easter and he still has two little snack bags left. He loves them, so I try not to eat any.

  • @temmetime I feel like that gif is me! Except I can't really do that because it hurts! But I do check them out a lot. My poor husband keeps asking when he can touch them again. My answer, like a broken record now, is always 'sorry babe, I don't know when, but definitely not now'. The pain/sensitivity is easing up a little though, which is nice
  • @deutschmama @temmetime It as just so good I couldn't look away. Also, so crazy. I read her birth announcement and it was so obvious she was super young and had probably never had a child. It's amazing to me that someone could keep up with all those lies for a year.

  • re: the July 2014 catfish - I still can't believe nobody called her out for so long. I mean, her stories were so ridiculous. If you want a good one, find the one where she talks about how she got pregnant. She made up this story that her SO just showed up one night with some sperm and was like, "let's make a baby". Because that's how lesbians get pregnant... right. I feel like it was one of those situations where she was SO involved in the board and she SEEMED well-liked, that nobody wanted to put out their neck to tell her she was full of shit. But as soon as the damn broke, it became clear that everyone had been thinking the same thing for a loooooong time.

  • @rinserunrepeat WOW... how could anyone believe that. You don't just randomly get sperm... There is timing to worry about, finding a person to donate, etc etc.

  • re: the July 2014 catfish OMG. I just read through that entire thread. (Totally being productive at work, lol.) I mean, I knew there were catfishes out there... but for a whole year?!?

And @runrinserepeat is right - the stories were so ridiculous! How could anyone actually believe them?

That being said... now I'm looking around our group and wondering...
    :o:(

Also, just going to say - I've been dealing with a bit of queasiness for a few weeks and had been feeling super lucky that it wasn't more, but while reading this thread I had my first actual "OMG I'm about to hurl" feeling. Luckily it went away with a bit of water and some yogurt.

  • @runrinserepeat It was a good read. I too was up at 3am with my snack and enjoying the dramaz. We had a catfish on my last BMB, but there wasn’t a lot we could do about her except not bring her to FB. Thankfully she joined pretty late, so the Bs was short-lived.

Ooh, now I need to know what  happened to Litera! I was wondering why she and all deleted content had been removed (thank goodness for people who QFP!).
  • @coybig didn't she call someone from the Catfish show? Or pretend like she did? And then cuntasaurusrex also called the catfish guy (and recorded it so we could have proof), and he was suuuuuuper pissed at litera and none of it made any sense, like she was using the situation to try to get ahead.

  • @runrinserepeat her SO just showed up with like a tupperware of sperm?! I have about one million follow-up questions...
I can't believe you had a front row seat to that craziness! So entertaining yet simultaneously disturbing.
  • I just bought the most bizarre assortment of food at the grocery store:

Olives, a giant slice of cheesecake, a grapefruit, two spinach souffléss, veggie sushi and Mac n cheese. I came in for milk for my DD!

Anyway, I don't think I should be allowed in a grocery store alone right now, haha.
  • @maureenmce aaaaand now I want cheesecake

Yeah, she called the Catfish show from MTV, explained the story, but basically wanted to be the only one featured from the show besides the actual catfish and wanted to hide it from us to "protect us."  The producer at that point basically said "no thanks, I'm out."
