  • @temmetime I know Baby List. I think amazon. Target should if you do it in person. I also got a box from Noobie Box I think and all I had to pay for was shipping.

  • Speaking of drama.... do you all know about the catfish from the bump july 2014 bmb?

    https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12462811/newb-in-town/p1
  • @echo-charlietango we could do a registry thread in general, things to put on it, places to register, things to forget about, etc.

Those peonies!  <3<3<3 I LOVE them so much, those and lilies are my favorite flowers

@Jens_Hoes July 2014 was my BMB for my son. It was fucking bananas. Like, one of our members talked to her on the phone and then reported back. But we've also had our fair share of drama since transitioning to FB, too. We love the dramz.

ETA is was July, I always forget since Neddy came early and was born in June.

  • @AGK2015 my prenatals we're the same way! I finished one bottle and opened up a brand new bottle and almost threw up! I thought it was just my sensitive pregnant nose but it's intense! I'm still taking them because they're so expensive!

@temmetime I had awful constipation with my DD. I had to take colace daily throughout my pregnancy and Miralax when I needed to catch up. I'm so sorry, it's such an awful feeling! It did get better into the second tri so I hope that's the case for you!
  • @Jens_Hoes wow, I made it to page 4 and opened a new tab. I’ll hang on to that to continue chipping away at it for the day. So much drama.

Re: registry, yes, sign me up for freebies. Lol, I’m thinking of amazon (since we have prime & why not?), and perhaps babylist too? It seems a lot like amazon except you can also add favors/activities that family can sign up for. I might just go with amazon + meal train though. Haven’t quite decided.
We have a private baby wishlist on amazon right now, and as I think of things I add them to that. Most of that stuff will probably turn into the registry. I saw bottle nipples made for mason jars on amazon last night. Does anyone have experience with that? We are pretty minimalist & already have jars (as Tupperware & the occasional drinking glass). Idk why I’d buy bottles that can only be used as bottles when I can just get another top to use on a dish I already own? Unless they suck. But they had decent reviews.
  • Re july14: i got a few pages in and wow....

re registry thread: yes please i'm so overwhelmed

  • @hkom you seriously will love it! I didn't get mine until I was like 35 weeks and I wished I had gotten it way sooner! #gamechanger I haven't broken it out yet.
  • @tumbleweed-1 we posted a lot of proof of life posts after that all went down LOL

  • Wowzers I missed A LOT!  And mostly drama lol

@echo-charlietango best of luck on the 15th with your closing and getting the new house ready for baby.   Also, those peonies are beautiful!  Jealous. My hydrangeas never bloom and they are my favorite, so anyone who gets flowers to bloom has my respect.

I'm all in for a freebies thread!  Free?  Where!?  I have never heard of baby list....

Lastly, I am a dummy when it comes to technology but especially the bump... is there a way to be notified of @ mentions?  I have my notifications on but never get notified and can never find responses to my posts/ dumb questions.  Yes, I have asked this question before, but I couldn't find it again so never saw responses!  I'm losing it!

I want ALL the welcome boxes. I had a babylist registry last time and received no such box.  We probably don't need a ton of stuff because I hoarded all of DD's stuff with the hope that another baby would be in our future but free stuff is awesome:) I wonder if I can get a new breast pump? Breast pump technology must have advanced since end of 2014, right?

I've been watching the drama unfold...but I generally steer clear of drama online and in life.  I hope we don't transition anytime soon because I'm not really on Facebook anymore....besides, I just got here!

@echo-charlietango I'm jealous of your flowers. Peonies are my favorites. I planted some poppies in my yard and they're being very slow to come in.
  • @scaredunprepared I’ll 100 percent admit that the peonies came with the house, but I want to plant a fresh bush at the new house. Here they are in the wild of my backyard:

Also, TheBump doesn’t have notifications like we expect. I only see mine on the desktop version, not on mobile *unless* you’re online and someone tags you or posts in a thread you open. It’s kind of a butt, however the organization reduces the number of threads to manually check for replies/mentions.

  • @echo-charlietango eeeee!!! They are gorgeous!  Definitely try planting them at the new house.  They can certainly brighten up the yard.  I saw this notification pop up on the bottom of my screen and got excited because I thought you changed something for me, but then saw what you said about seeing notifications if you're online at that moment :/ lol oh well!  Thanks for the knowledge. I will continue stalking each thread as I've been doing.

  • @echo-charlietango oh I love your peonies! My grandma always had peonies in her backyard- she used to give us the job of picking out the ants from the petals :D
  • So... what’s the deal with spoilers? Those weren’t really around last time I was active. :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @hbmama21 a lot of time people will use them to hide sensitive TW type stuff to make it easier for people to scroll past it, hide actual tv/movie spoilers, or to put pictures in. Putting pictures in a spoiler box makes the page upload a little easier. I know on mobile if I open a thread with a lot of pics, like the Ultrasoubd thread for example, it opens to the next comment I haven't read, but then pictures start loading and it pushes me halfway back up the page to posts I've already seen. So spoilers are very useful imo!

Thank you!! GTK. Wasn’t sure if there was new etiquette; that sounds useful for pics and TW. Although I’m not a fan of having to click to see funny gifs yet (I will adjust). Anyone know if there is an easy way to use it on mobile?

  • Apparently I have a catfish thread I need to go check out later when I'm not at work. lol

@echo-charlietango YES to the freebies thread. I was also thinking we should do a registry thread.

And what about a PSA thread for deals? I was on Old Navy this morning and a bunch of their maternity stuff is on sale and some stuff is an extra 20% off. I got 4-5 shirts, a side panel pair of shorts, and another pair of shorts for $47 total!

@coco2787 We still have all the stuff we'd need (mostly.. we'd need a crib and convertible carseats) but I may do what you did and just delete stuff before I make it public so I can get the free box! It sounds like it had lots of great stuff.

@fernsy I think it depends on your insurance for the breastpump. Mine says I can get a new one every 2 years.
  • @AdorkablePixie I like the PSA deals thread idea!

  • This isn't really pregnancy-related, so I'll stick it here.

Does anyone else struggle with eczema/skin issues? I'm asking because my left hand is currently a wreck. I visited the doctor who said it's exacerbated by water (well, he used some fancy doctor term but I can't remember it) and gave me a prescription for a steroid hand cream.

The thing is, I know steroids are bad to use long-term. But this stupid rash! The cream works so well for it but never completely takes it away, and then the minute I stop using it or am inconsistent (because inconsistency is my life) it comes right back in full fury. Right now I'm trying to give my hand a break from the cream and two of my knuckles have literally cracked open.

Sigh. Maybe this is a dear diary post. Maybe I need to make another appointment. But if anyone has input it would be appreciated.

@PensiveCrayon I don't, Nugget does, and it completed fucked us over when she had HFM.  Which led her doctor to mention that there's now a non-steroidal cream available via prescription for people over 2 years old (Nugget didn't quite make the cut at the time). Eucrisa, I think? I mentioned it to a friend who also struggles with eczema on her hands; she's used it and it's been a lifechanger for her. Worth asking your dermatologist or allergist about.
  • Since the questions thread was kind of left behind, this seemed like the next best place. I need y'all's help! I'm going to a wedding on June 16 and I may or may not have announced to the world yet. (I'll just be into the 2nd trimester.) I just tried on ALL my dresses in my closet. The ones that might hide my bloating all won't zip up anymore. And the stretchy ones obviously show my bloating/belly.

So, anyone have ideas of a dress or style that I can buy for under $50 that might work? The wedding is outdoors, so I want to look nice, but it's not black tie or anything. I'm 5'4" and was a size 4 before, so I know like mid-length dresses don't work on me well. Knee or floor length is preferred. Bonus for anyone who finds something that won't "show off" my changing figure yet, but I might be able to wear to outdoor weddings in July and August too.  :D
