Work has been such a crazy mess these days that I barely have time to log on during the day. How dare it interfere with TB time! I am also training a new hire every afternoon right now, so I spend the mornings trying to knock out all my crazy requests and then I'm over at his desk most of the afternoon. Lame.
Omg @mrsbubbles-2 isn't that an awesome feeling? The new hires I started a few weeks ago are on their own now so I can actually do boss things instead of doing customer service AND boss things. I'm such a proud work mama!
@derbysquirrel oh my goodness, my husband would LOVE that. Before I married him, I really had no concept of Star Wars. I think he almost broke up with me when I mixed up Star Wars and Star Trek. I know the difference now!
I'm sorry I'm so absent. I just have no time these days and am trying to be SUPER efficient at work so I don't have to do stuff on the weekends. I get so little time with DS as it is and I've had to come into work on some Saturdays and not see him and it makes me so sad. Here is a visual dramatization of me at work:
EDIT: oh, great! Now I can't even GIF, the one thing I was good at!! For those of you with good imaginations, it was a GIF of the little girl from honeyboo-boo trying to juggle and of course failing, lol.
@scottishlass1213 hope it’s nothing. A few times with DS I felt like I had some brown in my discharge, but could never be sure and nothing came of it. Sorry if that’s TMI.
I had a dermatologist appointment this morning and then DS and I ended up at chick fil a where I ate French fries while he played. Then he ate French fries and refused to eat any chicken. We are supposed to get a lot of rain today so no other plans for the day and hoping DH can get home a bit early.
I'm starting to feel weird that I'm not at all emotional during my pregnancy. Everyday someone posts about the random things that make them cry because of hormones, and I just can't relate. I haven't cried since long before I conceived. Am I some kind of Vulcan or robot? Please tell me there are others who aren't very emotive.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
@derbysquirrel I wasn't very emotional before I got pregnant. My H jokingly calls me the Ice Queen because just nothing seems to affect me like that. BUT! Spoilered for possible TW?
The other day I watched a show where a baby died, and I cried so hard. Big buckets. H was staring at me in amazement. IDK if it was the subject matter, or extra hormones - but it got to me bad.
Other than that, I've been just the same non-crying person as always.
I'm here too, but I had meetings today! Ugh. Mostly what came from those meetings though is that I'm not going to have anything to do at work for a while. We got new leadership recently, which is great. But everything is at a standstill until all these changes are made. I know I shouldn't complain, because I'm compensated really well but I'm bored. I'm reading a lot of books through the Amazon kindle cloud reader.
GL to all the husband interviews! DH has a 5th interview for the same job tomorrow. The process is crazy.
@derbysquirrel I literally never cried when I was pregnant with DD, and barely even cried when she was born until a couple days PP. I also thought I was a weird ice princess or something. This time around though, cue all the water works. You aren't weird.
@derbysquirrel I'm usually a pretty emotional person but haven't felt all that 'hormonal' during the pregnancy.

@derbysquirrel I was a crier before but, surprising I am not as emotional as I thought I would be. I have moments were things make me sad but nothing too crazy. I honestly thought I would be crying way more. I think I have become bitchier though. Just ask DH lol. I have been definitely saying what I think instead of holding it in like I normally would.
Meh I cry fairly easily when I’m not pregnant but I haven’t had a huge increase in tears or anything! @derbysquirrel that’s a cute pic!! Didn’t you say you were going to ride the roller coasters when you went?
I propose we make Monday BitchFest into a weekly thread. It’s a little unrealistic confining all our bitching to one day
@derbysquirrel I'm a fairly non-emotional person to begin with, I think I tend to internalize things more than letting them out in general. The whole first trimester I think I maybe cried once or twice, mostly when I was frustrated with something and had been holding it in for too long. But now, who knows. I find myself crying over silly animal videos on Facebook, the last birthday card that my dad actually signed himself that I found in my desk drawer, no baby bump showing this morning, the ultrasound video of the baby hiccuping, and that I ran out of garlic bologna last week for breakfast. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ecwk - I second that! And I'm adding to your nomination that TMI tues, WTF wed, etc, get started on the day they usually do but we can resurrect them during the week to share our WTFs and whatnot
I'm normally an emotional rollercoaster and pregnancy seems to make it worse. It's better now that I'm out of 1st tri. I was sobbing because DS's day care had a pajama drive and the school had partnered with Scholastic so that for each pair of pj's they got *sniff*, Scholastic would donate a book *sob* to go with them so that kids in shelters would have a pair of jammies and a bedtime story *full on ugly cry*.
And now the memory is making me cry again. At my desk. Over something that happened 3 months ago.
Man I was hella productive today. Got my ladders shipped ($550 ) and got so many things organized at work, it's now almost 2pm and I need to take a nap. How will I survive the next 2 1/2 hours?!
I’ll be 21w tomorrow and haven’t cried yet. DH jokes that I just get bitchy when I’m pregnant. I definitely have less patience in dealing with people when I’m pregnant, so there’s probably some truth to that statement.
I’m not overly emotional either and I have a somewhat hard time comforting/consoling outwardly even though I may feel a different way internally as well, outside of DS. I also have RBF so I probably always look perpetually angry lol
@amac12999 that’s what it was like. Kind of rusty so I couldn’t tell if it was spotting or dehydrated looking irons stains (there’s my own TMI) hahaha
I’m tend to be an emotional person even when not pregnant, so I haven’t seen a real significant change. I feel like the waterworks happened more PP with DS. I also binge watched all 6 seasons of Parenthood for the first time during my ML, so I think that initiated a lot of it though...!
Never a dull moment being a teacher. Kids these days are a lot less timid about talking about periods. Which I do think is a good thing, but a bit jarring for me. So apparently it came up that you don’t have a period when you’re pregnant, so they were asking all of these questions and I essentially had to explain what a period was. I’m not a science teacher, but oh well!

Can definitely relate. I was A LOT more weepy PP!! I binged in five seasons of Grey’s Anatomy!
@derbysquirrel I did not cry one time with my first. I was so happy. Fast forward to this pregnancy I am a mess. I think circumstance has a lot to do with it and these boy hormones (is that even a thing?) are kicking my butt, this time around. It’s not a bad thing that you are not overly emotional. Enjoy it because this crying ish is for the birds. Love the Winnie and the Pooh souvenirs.
So I started back at work just 2 days a week after the new year. I work in purchasing with a full time purchasing person. Who quit Tuesday giving notice till Friday only. And then just walked out. Small family business and frankly a great place to work. Not without stress and pressure but she’s even said how good the life balance is etc.
soooo now today was spent scrambling to figure out wtf all the halfway done crap she left is, what’s going on with what. And me trying to show the two other ppl who can do very very basic stuff how to do a tiny bit more when I’m not there.
Tonight DH was watching a show and one part of it was supposed to be some husband and wife renewing their vows on their 10th anniversary. He commented that that seemed too soon and I jokingly responded that we should do that for our 10th anniversary (which is this July). There was a loooong pause while I watched him do some mental gymnastics and then he said "Hey! That's this year!" I don't think he realized how long his pause was, which was funny to me. I'm actually glad he got the year right because he often mixes up important dates. He's the smartest person I know but he calls me every time someone asks the birthday of one of our kids
Last day before spring break! We're pretty much just sharing our women's history month projects (so proud- a bunch of my kids went outside the norm and picked more obscure notable women to research) and then making paper Easter bunnies.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
I'm working from home today because we have painters coming! As I near month end, which is my busiest time at work, it isn't ideal, but sometimes I feel like I get more done at home. The only downside is I have 3 monitors at work and at home I only have my laptop, so it's a hard adjustment! Painters will be here today and part of tomorrow. They are painting DS's current room (which will be the baby's room) and our current guest room, which will become DS's new room. One of the rooms was a "minecraft room", so the previous owners painted one wall lime green all the way down to the trim and the ceiling an aqua blue, along with the trim/molding around the ceiling. We moved in about 7 months ago and I've despised the colors ever since! I am SO excited for it to finally be GONE!
@lolog531 Those colors sound like a lot! I would be excited to see them gone too. Although, I had to share a room with my stepsister growing up and our parents let us pick what colors we wanted the room painted. She wanted yellow and I wanted orange, so the walls were yellow and the trim was orange. What were we thinking?! But at least it was cheery.
@melbel0824 neither one is a horrible color, but together it is just too much, especially for a bedroom! The other room is a pretty vibrant blue, and although not horrible, NMS really. We picked out 2 colors in the gray family, one a bit lighter than the other, so the rooms will look completely different I'm sure! We thought about letting DS pick a color, but at just shy of 3, we are waiting a couple years and going the neutral route!
Yellow and orange?! That room had to be so bright! Like you said, at least it was cheer though!!
@lolog531 - oh my, your minecraft room is giving me a headache just thinking about it. Hooray to being gone today!!! @pghctwife - ugh, not even 2 weeks notice? I'm sorry you're dealing with that! @homequiltingmama - happy (early) 10 year anniversary! @jsnakehole - yay for spring break! Do you have big plans for your time off? @kburg15 - yes. just yes.
Good morning! I shamelessly stole @ecwk's response to our drive-bys last weekend for this morning's 'gender' guess thread. But I have my bingo card ready, just in case *cue evil laugh*
