Told my kids today. They were so excited. One of my girls wants to know how soon I can bring the baby to school so she can see him. And I got some interesting name suggestions- Roar, Chewie, and Noodles.

@jsnakehole that's so cute! We told my 5 YO niece a couple weeks ago, and she decided a good name was fuzzy. So far that's sticking. She also asked two days later if "fuzzy was here yet."
Calculated it out again and it may make financial sense for me to take 18 months off with this baby (the Canadian gov just gave us the option to extend our leave from 12 to 18 months) - I am so excited! The 10 months with DS1 and then 12 months with DS2 just flew by (and yes I feel 100% weird saying that to Americans getting 6 or 12 weeks).

Good for you!!! Seriously, that's awesome. I'm so thankful this time I live in California as they're so far (I think?) the only state that has figured out it's not fair to not pay mothers who have to take time off work to bond with their brand new children. If I could take 18 months I'd do it in a heartbeat!
@Brezzy1928 Yay, what a relief, so happy for you! I'm trying to sneak bball games in at work, DH and my brother are both at my place watching together and I am so jealous but we have a huge filing for work tomorrow so I am stuck here until potential midnight tomorrow night. Funnily, DH and I did a head to head bracket challenge just for fun and ended up with near-identical brackets, I told him we spend too much time together and are starting to think the same

DS is very into Trolls right now, so when I ask him what he wants to name the baby, he says “Branch Biggie Cooper” and our last name. And then throws in “Mr Dinkles” and our last name for another option. Kids are funny.

Got my Quad Screen results back!!! Negative! It is such a huge weight off my shoulders. Plus the nurse told me that the people in office were yelled at for sending my to the other office and not just sending me upstairs to the hospital's lab.
DS told us we should name the baby’s Greg the other night. I have no idea where he got that. We don’t know any Greg’s, there’s not one at school and as far as I know there are none in any of his shows lol

Well then I think your decision is made.

Ugh I’m sick to my stomach. There was a nurse in a hospital not far from me *tw* abusing newborn babies in the hospital. They found five babies that had been abused and she’s only suspended. How can anyone do that.

Anyone here that had or still has m/s I am SO ridiculously sorry. I’ve been up with food poisoning all night and I feel like death, I cannot imagine doing this for weeks.
@calimom2524 if you continue to not keep fluids down, you could definitely end up needing an iv. I would personally just try to keep an eye on it (as I hate using the ER), but only you know when you've hit your limit!
I'm leaving for my work trip/vacation with my husband to Vancouver tonight! So ready to get away from everything for a bit. I may be close to absent from here for the week I am gone. Going to really try to just be present on this trip and not spend the whole time on my phone.
ETA: sorry @calimom2524 I responded on the wrong thread! Having trouble keeping them straight on mobile.
@calimom2524 - I said it in the other thread too but I hope you feel better soon and this passes quickly!
DSS came in our room this morning right as I was about to hit snooze to tell us he threw up everywhere. Poor kiddo. Luckily it was just the bed so DH is taking care of the laundry now. Not sure if we'll keep him home for the day, I'm just crossing my fingers it's not a flu bug or something like that.

We have our Q1 team outing this afternoon, so I will be MIA. We try and do a fun outing each quarter and it's usually a good time! This weekend the weather is supposed to be nice, so DH is hoping to get some things done in the yard, DS will be able to play outside and I'm hoping to be productive somehow! ha. We also made a deal to be more present on the weekends, which means not a lot of phone time. So I'm apologize in advance if I'm MIA
@jsnakehole hey I have a rory and we’ve def played up the “RAWR-y” lol
at the grocery store today for the first time someone asked me about the baby (“oh is it another boy?”) at only 19w! I knew I’d popped but that confirms it! That said I’d never say anything - never fails to surprse me.
Re: Weekly Randoms 3/12
ETA @calimom it won’t let me tag you but keep hassling them about it until they respond! I’ve had to do that in the past!
