I'm so ragey about my car. So my dad brought it to the dealership for me yesterday since I couldn't leave work and they have determined it's an engine repair that's needed and the cost is around $4k. They offered to do it for free because the car has been nothing but problems for me in the 4 months I've had it but I declined the offer because I don't trust their mechanic after having a check engine light on twice in the first two months. So now they're offering me the auction value of my car at the time I purchased it towards another vehicle on their lot. I'm basically backed into a wall with this because nobody else will give me this much money for a car with a shit engine but I also don't know how much I trust purchasing another car from them AND they only have 4 vehicles on their lot right now I would even consider. Looks like I'm either getting a Toyota Sequoia or Sienna tonight. I'm just bummed, I didn't want to be car shopping and I don't love any of my options but I have to choose one.
@calimom2524 It sucks that you have to pick a car from a limited selection when you weren't wanting to get a new car in the first place, but FX the issues you've had are totally limited to that one car, it sounds like otherwise they have at least been good/responsive in terms of service. I wonder if you could get them to agree to let you have a third party mechanic sign off on one of the cars before you buy it?

@Brezzy1928 I am so frustrated and anxious for you. I hope tomorrow can provide some concrete answers. That’s crazy!
@lolog531 I have a Sakura Bloom ring sling. I bought it at a local mom/baby boutique. I balked at the price, but man I love it. It’s such a secure fit. I can’t help you with the heat, I’m so cold natured. I tend to not wear the baby outside if it’s super hot just because I worry about the baby getting hot. But, I rarely am...
I found a few FT teaching jobs for cyber schools I wanted to apply for. Spent two hours trying to apply and getting bounced between different job application websites. Never did actually apply for the first job I tried. So. Freaking. Annoying. Why can’t it be like applying for regular classroom teaching? Print out the state app I keep filled out on my computer desktop, customize the cover letter, submit it and be done.

Yeah, I'm lucky at this point they're even offering what they're offering since I only had a limited warranty. I was prepared to fight them but they're being pretty great so I'm going to take their offer and be happy about it. I believe in the state of California you have 3 days to cancel a sale if there's something wrong found with it so I'll be bringing it to my work mechanic tomorrow (if I get a car tonight) and have it checked out.
You guys, I am terrible. I feel so bad at not keeping up here the way I’d like.
I caught the end of the thread and @jsnakehole I would be sooo irritated! You have more strength than me because I’d probably be livid.
I hope you end up with a car you like @calimom2524! It sucks that your options are limited. Car shopping is my absolute least favorite thing to do, second to going to the DMV.
@Brezzy1928 so sorry for what you’re dealing with lady! @calimom2524 sorry you’re kind of stuck where you are, but at least they are trying to work with you a little bit! Hopefully one of the choices you have works out!
Il’ll definitely have to check out the groups you all mentioned! I really want BWing to work this time for us!
@Brezzy1928 fix for you that they’re able to sort your blood work out! And sooner rather than later @calimom2524 I hate dealing with cars! Sorry it sounds like you got the shirt stick when it came to yours. Hope you get something you love and can rely on soon!
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
@msmonalisavito I am livid. If they stay out past 9, I'm going to be "asleep" when they get home so I don't have to meet anyone. Not the most mature move, but whatever. I'm pregnant, just worked a full day and still have work to do, and have a ton of prep to do for the conferences.
But the good news is that I found one of the alphabet code things to spell out a sentence to tell my kids I'm pregnant. It says "Mrs. Snakehole is having a baby!" I'm going to give it to them at the end of the day on Thursday right before we pack up. And hopefully that will be all the parents want to talk about when they meet with me.

This week has been shittastic. Got cursed out by a guy who blew a stop sign and hit my tow hitch this morning. Confusing sequential screen results, disorganization at my ob's office, and snow that just won't go away rounded out my day. This week has to get better!
@calimom2524 I have a sequoia and I absolutely love it. Yes it has crappy gas mileage, yes its a tank, but its heavy, truck-y feeling and a monster in any weather. Parts and repairs are inexpensive and apparently the things are built to last forever.
I have one pair of maternity leggings. They are wonderful, comfortable, basically the perfect clothing item. I have spent the last two days doing all the laundry prior to packing for our trip to Vancouver (we leave on Friday) and finally started packing tonight. I have torn the house apart for the last hour and cannot find those damn leggings. I'm sitting here crying over leggings.
Oh dear lord. After searching everywhere from the trunk of my car to my husband's dresser drawers, I found them wrapped between my sheet and my blanket near the foot of my bed. I guess I got hot the last time i wore them to sleep (at least a week ago) and hadn't discovered them yet. I checked the bed but it took me stripping it to find them. I need sleep.
I like the sleeper gowns forbthe early early curled up newboen daysvwhen you when you are changing them all night still, but when they uncurl team snaps. I always feel like I’m gonna accidentally zip their skin, plus I thought the zippered ones weren’t as cute lol
and i I like picking a special coming home outfit too.., soft and comfy but something I’ll save forever. My oldest came home in a ducks sleeper, secundvin sheep, and third in elephant kimono top and striped soft legging pants. Not sure for baby girl but a soft summer romper I think plus blanket.
And team minivan - can’t wait and never understood the issue.
Also NYC people, best way to get from LaGuardia to Penn Station? Should I Uber/taxi? Train? Bus? Hitchhike? Halp!! Paging @jsnakehole
Taxi. Follow signs to official taxi stand. You may be solicited as you exit the baggage area by T&LC drivers. Ignore. Get on the taxi line so you don't get ripped off. Less hassle than your Uber driver trying find you at the curb.

Busy day here, did the drivewy bc dh was at work with the snowblower. He always bitches and moans but frankly it wasn’t that big a deal, so I’ve been crabby all day about his grumping lol.
My sis has her a/s tomorrow morning and I’m dying to find out what she’s having!!! Gahhhhh!!!
I don't quite get the "coming home outfit." It's just a photo op, right? Can't you dress up the kid for the photo when you're not trying to get discharged? I think I'll just throw the kid in whatever is easiest, and take a cute picture after we get home.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
Same, @derbysquirrel. But, we’ve also had professional photos done of each boy right after birth - actually in the hospital - so I didn’t need another photo opp. They just came home in whatever I packed.
Good morning! @calimom2524 - congrats on the new ride! I'm actually looking forward to getting a minivan, this one will be our 3rd and we can never be the parents that can do the drop off / pick up of DSS and all his friends so that would be nice! And condolences on the Kazoo.
Re: Coming home outfits - I see both sides and always err on the side of comfy but cute. When you're being wheeled out of the hospital the entire WORLD knows that you and a brand new baby are being discharged and will try to sneak a peek of the baby. DS was in a cute sleeper and we got lots of Awwwwwws as we were leaving.
I think that baby girl will be coming home in something similar - a cotton sleeper and probably a hat. Even though it's August in St. Louis the baby will be outside for literally 2.7 seconds as we move her from hospital to car, it's all air conditioning. So I more want to keep her warm at that point than cool.
@Brezzy1928 I’m so sorry that happened again! So frustrating. Hope all goes well today and you get the results ASAP!
@calimom2524 yay for a new car? At least you’ll have plenty of room for baby girl.
I’m not commenting as much as I’d like either. DS is on spring break and wearing underwear when we’re home, so I’m spending more time than I ever wanted to in the bathroom.
I'm so tired. I met our guests last night and the husband is nice but the wife is just- meh. Apparently her job is "social media personality," which meant she shipped a special mount for her phone to our house prior to arriving. She also has a specific list of everything they're doing while here (including lots of reservations at bars for the four of us, so tons of fun for me- at least this bar that I hate is what she scheduled for when I'll be at conferences).
I have a quick check up and my second sequential screening blood draw this afternoon. We're going to announce on Facebook right after.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@legallykate I can understand that. I've thought something similar when trying to pick out a hospital outfit. Thankfully as far as other clothes we can use ds hand me downs. I am curious though what type of clothes people are getting their late August babies? Ds was 1 month old before we brought him home and that was just briefly so he really didn't wear clothes until over 2 months old so I strangely feel worried as a stm about how to dress a brand new baby especially during the transitional weather of September
I’ve been having the same thoughts! My girls are January, so I double layered everything! and May, so a short sleeve, pants, hoodie was great the first 6ish weeks. In the Midwest it will be so hot and humid in August and then September/October we will likely have triple digits, a tornado and an ice storm...
Daylight savings has been harder on me than the kids. Like it’s currently 9:42am and I’m still in my robe, drinking coffee. I’ve wasted half my day already LOL Must. Get. Motivated.
@melbel0824 I don't think it is either, but whatever.
@scottishlass1213 I try to be okay with my husband's army friends staying with us (even though he doesn't have the best track record- we had the absolute worst person stay with us when we first started dating. And it was then that my husband learned about my ability to whisper yell). I've already warned him that with the exception of our absolute closest friends (like our baby's godfather, who is from out of state) no one is staying with us any time soon.

@derbysquirrel yes! Take cute outfits for wearing at the hospital. You'll take more pictures sitting around the recovery room than you will with the tiny squish (sorry @calimom2524) in the big huge carseat. Carseat pictures aren't cute anyway.

All this car talk is making my Bump app have State Farm insurance ads, lol.
I’m hoping to BW with the new baby. DS wasn’t into it because if his face was that close to my boobs he needed to be nursing.
