Aww @stothi! I’m definitely a crazy person too, DH would probably love a break hehe. I’m currently crying hysterically bc I’m sick and I have a low fever and I don’t know what to do.
*Stuck in a box*
Being sick while pregnant is no joke. It sucks. I'm so sorry.
Reasons why I've cried today: It was my dad's birthday. My son took a really nice photo with my grandma. The paralympics comercial. They sang America the Beautiful. They sang the national anthem. They honored the wonderful Prince and turned the whole city Purple. My son ate chicken (he never eats meat).
@ashh2018 not going to lie, I kinda laughed at how you worded things such as “box of shit” and “messiest goddam slob I’ve ever met”. I think I’m really going to like you lol. As for your anger right now, it will pass so quickly. This is my third time around the sun and I’ve realized that I am an asshole pretty much for 9 months while pregnant, and then pretty much 8-9 months post partum until hormones level out and you get to go back to being your NORMAL self! (Too bad hubby has to put up with this for 18 months). Post partum when you feel good you will be like, wow, why did I care so much about such menial things. But for now hubby will just have to understand, and you may have to put up with the location of the box of shit. All about compromise.
Ugh. Sat night into yesterday DS woke MOTN with Croup. Last night DH woke MOTN (though I guess I woke because he's yet to sleep) with the flu. Fml. Question is do I check him into a hotel or me?!
@ashh2018 we have a cat, and the litter has always been a huge fight. We actually have an electric box now, and it scoops everything into a bin that you just have to empty out. You still have to refill it, and I feel like it scoops extra litter into the bin so there's more to empty more often, but it's definitely easier. Maybe look into that? I know cats can be funny if you change stuff up on them, but it might be worth looking into? And you're not alone, I am very aware of the fact that my hormones are making things into a big deal, but I still fight with DH about keeping the house clean. We are compromising..."Babe, I know I might seem unreasonable, but these hormones are here for a while and we can either both work at keeping them managed, or I can be a bitch for the foreseeable future." So every few days I let him pick the time, and we clean for maybe 30-45 minutes and we are good. I told him it is really bad if I get sick right now, so the house needs to stay clean. Also- we have a roomba. That little robot has saved me. We run it every day when we leave for work and it keeps dog hair, dust, everything, at bay.
Is it possible to find out how many people are involved in this BMB? I know people are concerned about seeing all the goodbyes. I remember that from my last BMB but what I kept telling myself is that, as we've said before, the statistics go the other way. A lot of people participate on this board and even more people lurk. When you look at those numbers instead of at the threads on the board, it helps. Maybe anyone who's still here can "love it" this message and we can see how many of us are hanging on? Just a thought.
I would say maybe a roll call with the spread sheet, but I know a lot of people, myself included, didn't put anything on there. Maybe a new thread to see?
Ugh ladies, I feel like I've been less active than I want lately. The fatigue is killing me this week. I am grumpy at my toddler because I'm too tired to play all the time, then I feel bad about not wanting to spend time with her. Now she is sick and extra clingy and whiny.. poor girl. I've had to call off work twice since I started this job 6 months ago due to either her or me getting sick. I'm super worried because I only work 2-3 days a week and I have my 6 month evaluation on Thurs. I'm afraid these call offs will make me look really bad, but what am I suppose to do? I can't send her to daycare if she has a fever.. At least you''ve all made me fell better about being irrationally angry at my husband for just being his "normal" messy self.
Sorry for the whiny, rambling rant.. it's been a tough week and I feel like pregnancy makes me way more dramatic..
@Redpuma119 does the electrical cat litter thing take care of the smell though? Like, does it scoop it into a “smell proof” bin? Haha I will look into it!
My bra extenders should arrive today from amazon, I’m pretty excited. Now if only DH wasn’t sick anymore, and I wasn’t sick anymore, everything would be perfect! Lol
@ashh2018 There are models that just dump it into a little bit, some drop them underneath. Our just goes into a little holder on the side and H dumps it daily. Whenever the litter box "cleans" itself, you definitely get the litter smell for a minute, but honestly, I think that dumping the litter every day keeps it from smelling.. since it's not just sitting in there.
Guys, I feel like I've been such a slacker around here lately. Sorry for lack of participation. I hate complaining about it, but I'm trying to just get through each day lately with DH traveling for work and kind of hanging on by a thread. I hope there's a light at the end of the tunnel soon, I like chatting with everyone here!
@AdmiralKitty Do you know how early babies can fly? We have a wedding third weekend of September and DH is the best man. I really want to go, but I'm due on the 8th. Maybe the baby will come early, but how soon is too soon to travel with a newborn?

@starla Alaska doesn't have any restrictions on age. American is at least 2 days old, but seven is recommended. And Delta and United have a seven day old restriction.
@starla Redpuma got it right. My pediatrician wasn't thrilled with the idea of DS flying before his first round of shots (at 2months) but we did anyways (at 5weeks). I wore him almost the whole time so nobody could breathe/touch/get near him. The youngest I've seen on a flight was 1week and it was only because the mom had given birth early while out of town. She had to wait a week to fly home. 2/3 week olds are rare but not unheard of.
Thanks @AdmiralKitty and @Redpuma119. We will probably have to wait until baby comes before deciding about booking a flight for me. It might be really expensive last minute anyway.

@starla You might mentally want to go once baby arrives but be too tired to travel, too. Obviously I'm a FTM so just speculating but traveling can be tiring in the best conditions. I can't imagine doing it just a couple weeks postpartum with a newborn. That's a tough decision, since weddings (especially close friends) can be so fun!
@SkilledSailor Yeah that's the other major factor in the decision.

Not trying to be a debbie downer because everyone is different, but I *think* at 3 weeks PP my life goals were to make it through a day without Depends.
@Patience7150 same! I totally didn't want to be negative, but at 3 weeks PP it was still tender to sit from stitches, I was just getting a hang of breastfeeding, and my hormones/emotions were still all out of whack.
I just want to give a quick shout out to whoever invented the automatic vacuums. While I'm feeling way to crummy to clean, Van the vacuum man (our roomba) can clean for me. Now if they could make those wash/dry/fold combo machines affordable, that'd be great.
@Redpuma119 unfortunately it's cross-country so no. @Patience7150@arbell615@nlc8424 I'm not delusional. Baby could come a month early or a week late. Who know when he/she will arrive and how I'll be recovering. That's why we're going to play it by ear. I was asking how early the baby can travel just in case I feel up to it when the time comes.

@starla certainly didn't think you're delusional! I think it's a great idea to play it by ear, I've known women who have gone to a wedding (no traveling included except maybe 30-45 minutes) 10 days after birth as well as someone who went on a mini vacation a few weeks after. It can definitely be done. I'm glad the other ladies were able to provide info on when baby is allowed to travel.
@SkilledSailor My SIL got one for Christmas and I'm so jealous! Apparently there's a robotic steam mop too. Such a great invention, especially when you own dogs.
@starla A very good friend of mine had her wedding two weeks before my due date. Baby was 5 weeks early, but 3 weeks spent in NICU, we didn't make the wedding, but baby came home the day after.
I made sure with her that she didn't need a head count for the ceremony, and not to count me for dinner ahead of time, just in case. That way, if baby hadn't arrived, we could attend and support her, and if she had last minute cancellations grab their plates, or just step out and grab dinner by ourselves if necessary. Different situation, because this wedding was only a 90 min drive, so I could have made it at 38 weeks if I had made it to 39 weeks.
You could always book flight ahead of time with the travel insurance. I did that once, ended up having to cancel flight, but got refunded for it, and was only out the $40 ish cost of insurance. Just an idea for you, because obviously we all know that it's impossible to plan for baby's arrival!

@SkilledSailor@nlc8424 Sally, my Roomba, is a lifesaver! The greatest invention yet. H got me one for Christmas and it really was worth every penny...except the dog is terrified of it.
The roomba steam cleaner is less is less expensive than the vacuum I think. I know someone who has it and loves theirs! Would be a good combo vacuum in the morning mop in the afternoon.
@starla I have a wedding to go to the 3rd week of September too. So baby will be 2-5 weeks old depending on when it comes (I know they won't let me go more than a week overdue). It's a 45 min flight so I'll probably fly, although I think my parents are driving so maybe we'll do that instead (but 6 hours in the car postpartum and with a newborn/toddler doesn't sound fun either). I have every intention of going but if for some reason I can't make it, at least I know the groom will understand. (Since your cross country flight is likely to be more expensive, I'd get travel insurance which could very well be cheaper than the price increase from buying last minute... just make sure that's a covered reason to cancel.)
