@sarahhedger7 To start, I would say that I'd definitely mention it to your doctor and partner, and that I'm sending positive vibes your way. More communication about the struggle never hurts!
That said, I think feeling some anxiety (over baby coming, over fear of birth, over life changing entirely, over having little control over timing and preparation) and sadness (mourning your old life that will never be the same) has to be normal, especially as a FTM... which I am too, and have similar feelings (thanks, generalized anxiety disorder), so perhaps I'm projecting here. But any feelings that interfere with your daily life and your ability to get things done are too much of a burden... and your doctor and loved ones need to know to watch out for you and offer help.
I think pre-eclampsia is going to have a massive amount of swelling suddenly with it? I’m actually thinking your BP may be low like mine has been @crossfitbabybump.
@sarahhedger7 I know you don't want to be monitored I think you gotta talk to your OB. If for nothing else, just so he/she is aware. Let the OB know you don't want to be under their thumb, but it's better they are in in what's doing on than (God forbid) something happens PP.
I've had a lot of cramping the past few evenings at like 6 or 7 until I go to bed, dull achey cramps like period cramps that shoot down the front of my legs too, it's so uncomfortable!
@crossfitbabybump - I agree with @mdfarmchick. It could also be low blood pressure. Mine trends toward low and can make me flushed and weak. Needing to eat has done that to me too. Pretty suddenly. Pre-E will usually have some swelling (more than your usual) involved too. Obviously chat with your OB soon if you get any worse. But see if you have a way to check your blood pressure for now.
I did Zumba last night for the first time in a month. I modified EVERYTHING and came home with some of my worst back pain yet.
@missnc77 I did some of the stretches you suggested before bed (probably not 100% correctly but I did my best!!) and woke up this morning feeling SO much better!! Don't want to jinx the good feeling, so am going to do the stretches again now. Just wanted to give you a shout out and say thank you again!! ❤❤❤
@StephBrim24@mdfarmchick - thank you ladies! I feel much better today and am making sure to just relax and drink plenty of water. Before I was pregnant, I've always had low blood pressure so that makes sense!
@crossfitbabybump I deal with that throughout my entire pregnancies. For me it’s low blood sugar and blood pressure. It’s such an icky feeling, especially when out and about and you are doing all you can to avoid passing out. Ugh! With DD I still worked and was the head pre-school assistant. I would have to quickly get kiddos situated doing a task and sit down before my symptoms got too bad. Usually if I had something with protein (I carried peanuts or PB crackers) and drank water quickly the feeling would fade some. I’ve been noticing it a little more often the last couple of weeks so I’m going to inquire at my appointment this week and make sure my doctor isn’t concerned. My BP has only registered “low” at one appointment, but my doctor said that doesn’t mean it doesn’t randomly drop low and my blood sugar is low any time they’ve checked it.
@chasingroygbiv - yes drinking water and eating something with protein does seem to help! I'm back to drinking my protein shakes because I don't think I was getting enough early on in the pregnancy. Could low iron be causing it as well?
My lower back pain has been out of control because of the way I'm carrying, so I had my chiropractor tape me up around my belly to my back. I feel so much better in that area!
@crossfitbabybump make sure you're staying hydrated!!! We should be drinking an incredible amount and I know I feel off when I don't have enough. Def talk to your dr.
@vflux33 I'm for sure feel like a bowling ball is sitting in my pelvis. I'm trying not to bend down too much, only because it's so hard to come back up lol
@cford08 Yes, super hard to get up! The bending is driving me nuts. I'm just trying to switch laundry, put away dishes, basic normal very easy stuff and it hurts so bad.
@cford08 MH I talked about buying one of those last week! We didn't do it though It does feel like a weird thing to buy just for a few weeks, and the amount of money we've spent on Amazon this month is already on the scary side... Also I think if I tried to put dishes away with that it would probably take hours + I'd break half of them.
@crossfitbabybump low iron has definitely made me lightheaded in the past. not sure if quick heart has to do with that, but I get that too sometimes. Along with feeling flushed and hot/cold.... As others have said, it can be caused by low blood pressure which I usually have....
@vflux33 yes, me too. bending over hurts, especially when the bottom of the bump is compressed against my legs. I've been doing a lot of squatting and side lunges when I have to get low. LOL Also, it seems silly, but doing the dishes kills me. The sink is so far away! I have to bend over a little and hold my arms up to rinse things so by the end my low back and my shoulders hurt. ridiculous.
Last night my heartburn was extra awful, for no identifiable reason, and I ended up taking two Tums before a Zantac 75. Heartburn gone this morning, but now my stomach is blah. I will not miss this symptom in 2 months.
@nancysimp@gh515 Indigestion and heartburn are the WORST. I've been getting them bad too, on and off. Sometimes because of a risky eating choice, but sometimes just because. Ginger ale, gum, milk, and ginger candies help me sometimes. Other times there seems to be no natural ways to stop it. But those are worth a shot if you haven't tried them already. I'm hesitant to take Tums and Zantac mostly because I never took them before when not pregnant and I hate trying new over the counter drugs while pregnant.
Sooo I had an hour or so’s worth of contractions last night. Fun times. MH said he thought they were just practice. They weren’t the same as with DS. And I am a little salty that they were at 12 am... Spoiler Alert: Labor and contractions are a major mindfuck.
@mdfarmchick I feel you there! I’ve started timing my contractions but still no real rhythm or anything to them. They’re just annoying and make me uncomfortable no matter how I sit or what I do. Ugh.
@baybeesunflower@nancysimp@mmom3 I had my platelets tested again yesterday and they are up 24 points from my last test at 25 weeks (I'm 35 weeks now). I guess it's possible to go up?
@vflux33 I agree and hate taking any medicine... I'd rather balance things out naturally. I should have just taken a Zantac from the get-go; I think it was the combo that did me in. And I 100% concur with the randomness of heartburn/acid reflux- sometimes I know it's my fault (French fries), but other times, even water seems to set it off. Gross. Coconut water or aloe water do seem to always help though as well.

it's a total waste of money because I won't need it after the baby but man it is tempting lol
