December FET

Re: December FET

  • @bethann1022. We are both getting so close!  My next lining check is tomorrow morning, and then if all is well, I'll be starting PIO on Sunday!  I am wondering though when my progesterone check is going to be, if that's going to be maybe Christmas Eve morning?  We will have company at the house, but still, that would actually be better than having to go in Christmas morning. And then my beta day supposedly is December 31st?  So that's a Sunday... I really hope it works out that way!!!

  • @BusinessWife How did you get an actual picture of what I look like right now? lol I hope all goes well with your lining check!

  • Ahhh @alohakumu good luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes super smoothly.

@businesswife Good luck! Is your clinic open all those days? Mine is closed Dec 23-26.

  • @AlohaKumu. I have my ways... ;)

@adirat. I just went and checked and the website says they are own 365 days a year!  Who knew!?!??
  • @businesswife Wow! That kind of blows my mind. I have to say I was pretty shocked that my fet was scheduled for 12/29...I figured they'd shut down for Christmas and New Year's but they're just closed a couple days.

  • Hey ladies sadly I got a negative beta today. I feel like my husband was more upset than I was. It’s probably because I knew it wasn’t going to work because I can feel myself getting ready for a period .

Honestly this was our first IVF . We are unexplained so we have no answers. Our biggest fear is there is something really wrong that we don’t know and we will never be parents :( . Ugh this is a rough road .
  • @msd1001 I'm so sorry about your beta.  Take care of yourself and don't lose hope.

  • @msd1001 It is a really rough road. sorry about your beta. I hope your doctor can help you figure out how to get you to that bfp soon. Have you done an ERA by any chance? Mine came back pre-receptive by 24hrs so I was glad to have that info.
  • @suziev3 they Haven’t really done any testing other than the the usual, they did an HSG to check for my tubes they checked my husband sperm and they checked Lots of bloodwork. I’m not quite sure much about ERA I did Come across it in my research. Can you tell me a little bit more about it? And how it helped you?
  • @msd1001- my heart is broken for you. Nothing is harder than a negative. Lots of prayers your RE can come up with a good next plan for you!

  • Hi ladies!  I was so busy at work yesterday that I didn't get a chance to check the boards.  I missed you gals!  :)

@msd1001 I'm so sorry about your beta.  I hope you are able to take care of yourself.  It's such a crappy feeling.

AFM - I wish you all could see my grocery order that I am picking up today after work (there is a grocery store by my office that does online ordering/curb-side pick-up - sweet Jesus it is the best thing ever).  I decided that to keep my mind off of this TWW, I am going to bake up a storm this weekend and give the cookies to my postman, garbage men, neighbors, strangers, homeless people - you name it!  The amount of flour, butter, sugar, and sprinkles I am purchasing is obscene.  Feel free to come over to Washington, DC and grab a platter of sweets this weekend!  :)
    TTC since November 2013
    5 failed IUIs
February 2015 - BFP naturally (ended at 5 weeks in chemical pregnancy)
August 2015 - first IVF cycle (14 eggs retrieved, 10 mature, 10 fertilized, 2 blasts)
September 2015 - BFP (ended at 6.5 weeks in chemical pregnancy)
    February 2016 - FET (BFN)
September 2016 - second IVF cycle (19 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 12 fertilized, 1 blast)
    Diagnosis: unexplained infertility

  • @msd1001 I am so sorry for your BFN, do you have any frosties left to try again? I hope you can come up with  the plan for the next try. I had that fear of not being a mom ever and it scares the crap out of me every time. Just try to keep your chin up! I know it is hard to keep moving forward!

@BusinessWife wow on that awesome lining! Do you take any additional supplements to make it grow that thick? What's your secret?

@AlohaKumu Good luck with the transfer today!
@kjones202 baking is a great way to relax! I made 3 batches of cookies myself yesterday. And I am planning to do more baking this weekend!

@JamieH2000 How are you doing there, friend? Beta is fast approaching, will you test early?

AFM, had our WTF appointment with the RE. He said that most likely the cause for the BFN was the embryo. However we decided to do a Lupron free cycle next time and endometrial scratch ( he said that recent studies suggest it does not do anything but he will do it to make me feel better). DH had a screaming session with the RE, it was interesting. They yelled at each other for two minutes, then shacked hands and it was it . DH gets very protective over me so I don't blame him for letting his frustrations out. The RE seemed to understand that it was just anger and frustration over all we've been through this past year. Dr. is very hopeful for our next transfer and I think I am getting more positive too. Also, we had a conversation about PGS and he advised us against doing that just yet. ( his argument was that it weakens the embryos and the results of PGS are questionable with new research) We are also not doing ERA for now because we had a CP on our fresh transfer which suggests that I don't have implantation issues. Basically the point of this whole meeting was that FET is a 50/50  chance and we just got unlucky on our first try.
I am waiting for the nurse to call me with the schedule probably early next week.

  • @businesswife- heck yes on the lining! That is awesome!!

@adirat- glad the lining is looking great and they are being extra cautious with your meds on this transfer! It’s gonna be here sooo soon!

@kjones202 - baking is a great distraction!! Wish I lived closer!

@decemberdoll27- thanks for asking, beta is Monday but I will test Sunday. It’s been a really rough few days as I feel like all my natural progesterone (since I had a stimulated FET) is gone and my period is coming. It won’t, since I’m on crinone, but I have been struggling to feel hopeful when this is how I have felt before all my Negatives. I would just test now but I have to host my inlaws tomorrow so I can’t handle a negative before that. I am so glad you are feeling more hopeful after talking to your RE. How soon can you get going on the next transfer?!

  • @JamieH2000 Don't loose hope, TW when I had my first ever BFP ( very sad EP story) I literally felt like AF would show up when I went to the bathroom to POAS but it never did, I was waiting for it to arrive every day with cramping and stuff and went to the bathroom all the time to check if it started already * end TW so it feels very similar to early PG. I am expecting my next transfer to be some time late January. My clinic does everything in batches so whenever their next batch of FETs is going to be. I hope you do not need to worry about another transfer! I have everything crossed for you! And I can't imagine hosting a party for my in-laws in TWW, it is a heroic act in my book, you need a medal!

  • @AlohaKumu Congrats on being PUPO. FX for you.

@msd1001 Well it still remains to be seen if it helped me, my beta is Monday :#.  Basically we did a mock FET cycle and then an endometrial biopsy on the day we would have transferred to check if we had the best timing for implantation. Some people (I think it was 20%) are outside of the average window of time for receptivity and I ended up in that category and needed 24hrs more time, according to the test results.  I was only working with one good embryo so my doctor recommended it out of caution, but usually only recommends for women who have had multiple FET but haven't had success with implantation. I don't know if this would make sense for you at this point, but it might be something to ask about anyway.   I have been diagnosed with PCOS, but otherwise we are unexplained as well and it's hard not to have answers.
  • @saba23 it can happen and still be okay!  When is your beta?
  • @BusinessWife I hope so. It is on Thursday.

AFM - still no "symptoms."  Other than some mild cramping, mostly in the morning.  I have myself prepared for BFN and will be totally shocked if the results come out otherwise.  We'll see though.  Was a little nauseous this morning but I'm 100% certain it was from all of the cookies I ate baking this weekend to keep my mind off of the beta test on Thursday.  :)

  • I posted on some other threads, and I hate to share more bad news, but our cycle was a BFN. We are just devastated. Don't know how it doesn't work when we had two perfect embryos, a great lining, and a clean uterus with a scratch the month before. Can't even meet with my RE until 1/3 to come up with a plan. Just having a hard time. Hope that you ladies all get your Christmas miracles!

  • My entire reply just deleted so I will have to keep this shorter as I only have a few minutes.

@JamieH2000 I sent you a PM, but want to reiterate how sad and angry I am for you with the negative this cycle.  I was praying so hard that this was it for you, hopefully 2018 will bring you renewed hope and faith that this process will work.  Hugs!

@saba23 congrats on the HPT BFP, hoping your beta on Thursday is great!  Don't worry too much about the spotting, I have heard a ton of other women who have this in the first trimester and have no complications with their pregnancies.

@BusinessWife We are both getting so close, how exciting!  Remind me again, what is your PIO schedule?  Do you just to it twice a day for the first day and then once daily after that? I also had an incident when I administered it myself last cycle, I was standing in front of a mirror and didn't have any tissues ready as I had never had any problems previously, well the injection went fine but when I removed it blood literally starting pouring down my back.  It stopped quickly and has not happened again since, but was definitely alarming!

AFM, I have not had access to a computer for a few days as we were away and it is my preferred method of updating as my phone causes way too many errors.  But I have been following along with all of your updates.

I am continuing with my PIO injections each night, my FET is still scheduled for Wednesday although I get a little nervous that they don't do any monitoring for the 6 days prior to the transfer, I wish they would at least check E2 and P4 levels to make sure they are both high enough, but what can I do.  I will find out the exact time tomorrow, but most likely it will be 9:45am as my RE wants to do it himself so he requested this time.  I am so excited, but yet getting so anxious and scared at the same time.  I know I say I have absolutely no desire to test this cycle now, and most cycles by 4 days post I start to go a little crazy with anticipation.  But am really hoping that Christmas and my family visiting from the 23rd-1st will be enough of a distraction to keep me occupied. My sister from Colorado will even be here until the 29th and while she knows our struggles and that we are doing IVF she doesn't know the timeline, so I don't want to test while she is visiting and chance a negative, or even a positive as I would not want to share either and have a hard time not wearing my emotions of my sleeve.  My beta is scheduled for the 30th, I will most likely wait until then, but may take a HPT when I get home from beta just so I know before I get the call.

Good luck with those who have betas this week!
  • @bethann1022.  That's the same as me!  How many times I did it with no issue, and this one time, I just had to get lucky. Lol. Yes, I do mine first in the am, and then again that same night so I can switch to a pm schedule thereafter.  My final lining check is the morning prior, and a progesterone check two days after.  That surprises me they don't check beforehand.

@JamieH2000 Oh no.  I am so very sad to hear this.  I know we all have been hoping so hard for you..  (((hugs)))
  • @JamieH2000 I'm sorry to hear about your news. I hope I have the words to say to lighten up this sadness you are feeling. Sending you lots and lots of (((hugs))) and I'm thinking about you.
