  • @kpc914 I'm so sorry for your loss. Some of your symptoms might be a reaction to the grief and the stress of the grief. What you're going through isn't easy, pregnant or not. Don't add guilt to it by worrying about the baby's reaction to the stress. Grieve and see if maybe you can take a b complex vitamin to ease some of the anxiety.
  • Nausea, so thirsty for water all the time, headaches, dizziness, weak, and shakey. Feel like crap today so shandy and I don't know why because I am eating. Frozen ginger ale and sour patch kids are my favorite things right now. I had 2 slushies today :)

  • Cramps! Two days of cramps. They eased up today, along with the gas that was probably causing them. And I've been sleeping so hard.

  • Does anyone else have itchy fingers? For some reason my ring fingers where they connect to my hand have been itching all weekend. It hurt to wear my wedding ring.
  • @kpc914 I am so sorry for your loss. It is more healthy to grieve than to hold it in. Don't be hard yourself. Let yourself feel what you need to feel.
  • @kpc914 I posted in one of the other threads, but wanted to say again how sorry I am about your aunt.  I agree with PP, give yourself time to grieve.  Remember the good times with her, and let her love and memory carry you through the harder times.

  • Finally found my lethal combo (apple juice and prenatals) and threw up for the first time in two pregnancies while my son was watching. "Mumma, what are you doing?"  That was a fun convo with a two year old

  • all of a sudden I'm feeling queasy, achy and have these ridiculous headaches. It is a struggle to be working right now...
  • So they officially moved my due date back from the 1st to the 9th based on my ultrasound, which I know is not right. I was temping and doing OPKs so I know I ovulated before that. Plus that would have meant I got my first positive pregnancy test at 5 dpo... so I am not too happy about it. Plus it puts me a week behind where I thought I was which means getting out of the first tri is yet another week away. 
    For anyone that is using B6 and unisom, have you tried just using the B6? Does that help? I am really struggling to function during the day after taking the half dose of unisom, but I also do not want the all day nausea to come back. I was only awake for 8 hours between Friday night and Sunday morning.

  • @labgrand2012 I'm dreading having the "But I know when I ovulated!" conversation with my midwives, I'm hoping the fact that they're midwives will make it a little better.  I started using just B6 at first and I felt like it did nothing.  I just added Unisom, one dose before bed, and it seems to be helping a little bit, but not a ton.  I was just contemplating adding the second dose in the afternoon, since the evening hours are worst for me, but I don't know if I'll be able to function being that tired.  It sucks so much, would you rather have debilitating nausea, or not be able to keep your eyes open?  What a choice....

    @kpc914 Take care of yourself. Try to put yourself in the most relaxing situation you can, lying down in bed or in the shower as @suchaglencoco suggested to take some of the brunt off your body, and then let it out. The internal stress of holding it in would probably be more damaging.

  • I can usually get by for a while with just nighttime unisom and daytime b6, but eventually I need unisom in the afternoon as well. 
    Im so slow and tired! I swear I spent an hour cleaning the kitchen and it doesn't look like I did anything! I'm moving like a snail! Also, everyone is annoying me right now. I don't want anyone coming over or calling me. I love to host play dates, but I need to retreat for a while. People at work are working my nerves as well. I'm like a grizzly bear!
  • @kpc914 Your story is so close to mine. I lost my mom to breast cancer in 2004 when I was 18, she was 53, so going on without her has been so hard. Her mom passed away in 2010 and her dad just a few weeks after we announced we were having a girl in 2014. She was an only child, so I felt abandoned in a way. I had let so much unattended grief build up in my system over the last 13 years that I eventually hit rock bottom last year and was diagnosed with depression. I'm still on medicine, mainly because I'm scared of the possibility of going back to where I was, but I also sought help from a counselor. She gave me some amazing tools and I feel like I have finally healed. I say all this to say: find time to grieve so you don't end up like I did! Even if it's talking to other family members or a couple sessions with a therapist, getting your emotions out is healthy for you, even though it's uncomfortable and you feel like a blubbering whale. T&P for you and your family!

  • asking about unisom and B6, too. I'm at the end of my rope.  What is your normal dosage? (seeing my MFMs tomorrow, but wanted some relief tonight before I burn through another sick day)  I've read 3 doses of 25 mg of B6 through the day and then a half a tablet, 12.5 mg of unisom at night, increasing to an afternoon dose if needed.  I'm desperate.
  • @kpc914 I'm so sorry for your loss. Grieving and taking care of yourself is the most important thing for your little one and you know she is watching over you both. Life is so unfair. I'm sorry. 

    As for my symptoms. I'm nasueas AF but I haven't thrown up yet... but I'm only 4 weeks. I'm also exhausted, crampy and irritated. I had severe HG my entire pregnancy with my first ans was really hoping to avoid that this time... but only time will tell.

  • @cups4, that's what I've been trying (3 25mg doses of B6 and 12.5 mg of doxylamine at night), and it's a little bit better, I can at least tolerate the thought of eating now.  But I still feel nauseated and bloated.

  • Also, be careful with the Unisom.  I had to go to three different stores before I could find the doxylamine version of Unisom and not the diphenhydramine (Benadryl) version.

  • @cups4 Try taking a whole tablet of unisom (doxylamine). IME it takes a while
    to work as you have to break the nausea cycle. Give it at least a week.

  • @labgrand2012 @cups4 I only take the Unisom at night.  It knocks me out, so I can't take it midday.  My OB said to take the Unisom at night and take 25 mg of B6 three times a day, before each meal.  

    I also second what @sandbar517 said about making sure you find the right kind.  The gel tabs don't have the doxylamine.

  • As for me, I'm still ridiculously tired. I've fallen asleep by 9 most nights this week. Nausea comes and goes, it's worse if I'm hungry at all, which is most of the time lately. Add in a side of bloating and mood swings.
  • Where's that list again about medicines. I guess I should use the search, I'm so lazy today. Ok, I promise I'll search, but also the gas!! Like, I get to 6 pm and I am so bloated with so much pressure in and below my belly I just feel like you could stick me with a pin and I'd deflate. I had to apologize to DH on Saturday night for the near 2 hours of ripping farts.

    Oh, also, TMI warnings ^  :p

  • My main symptom is exhaustion, I'm ALWAYS tired.
