I inherited a few things from my neighbor who is about 7 inches shorter than I am and super tiny, so most of that stopped fitting me in the second trimester. A few weeks ago, I bought three pairs of the secret fit maternity leggings from Destination Maternity, and I LIVE in them. I thought the price was worth it, especially since I got them on sale (DM seems to run sales often). I also got their seamless support tanks in black and white. I have basically been living in a pair of leggings, a support tank, and a tunic or cardigan over top. I ordered two of these long-sleeved shirts, which I LOVE, but I've only been able to wear each once since it's still been so damn hot here in MD. Word of advice: Everything I ordered from pink blush (two maxi dresses, a top, and a dress) in the late first trimester is already pilling very badly, falling apart, or just looking generally drab...
I'll admit, I caved and bought a Pea in the Pod top to wear at my baby shower...I got it through a larger Destination Maternity order I made. I promptly returned it...it was so thin and cheap looking!! And was WAY more expensive than the stuff I got from Destination Maternity!
A tip that worked out for me: I had to find a dress for a FANCY wedding and did not want to drop megabucks. After an extensive and annoying search of maternity fashion with 0 results, I went to TJMaxx and tried on everything 1 size up and formal-ish! I ended up with the following dress for $35 and got a million compliments. I was able to wear tights and flats I already owned. Yay!
@Amber_Waves I actually had success in a past pregnancy renting a formal dress from Mine for Nine. I think it was like $40, and if I remember correctly they actually will send a back-up dress in the next size up for a few extra dollars (just in case). In my scenario, I was a bridesmaid and had to find a specific type of dress (black, lace, knee length) so I wasn't able to just shop around until I found one. So while I'd ideally rather get a dress that I can keep and possibly wear post-baby, I thought renting was super convenient.
