I am normally a 00. Any idea where I can get maternity pants? I tried all the places mentioned here and the pants were too big. Do I just need to wait longer to fit into them?
@yodaisgreen even H&M? I'm pretty sure they size down to a 0 and run small. Another option is to cut off the waistband and replace with elastic band for a demi-panel fit. I bought a pair of jeans from Goodwill to do this with.
Edit: screen name has an i not an L (haha my bad), and autocorrect sucks
@KathrynJ088 Yes, I tried H&M yesterday and their maternity pants were too big. I shall try what you suggested on a pair of old pants first since I need to brush up on my sewing skills.
@kathrynj088 thanks for the rec! I looked on H&M's website earlier today and they were sold out of all the maternity jeans I liked in my size. I'm gonna try to find them in store.
@blueskies17 and @kathrynj088 I was at H&M yesterday and they're having a big sale, and they had maternity jeans for $10! I haven't tried them on but snagged a pair, and they had other maternity stuff on sale. They also had baby stuff on sale and I went a little crazy, but got so many cute baby outfits
@KathrynJ088@shellac835 I got off work early and snagged a pair of maternity jeans at H&M on the way home. They weren't on sale unfortunately but they fit and they're comfy!
Full panel is going to take some getting used to... I don't love the feeling of having a band around my stomach. But this is a lot more comfy than belly bands!
@yodaisgreen If you have a Motherhood Maternity store near you, I recommend checking them out. They carry their own brand, but also a lot of other brands, so there's a decent diversity of sizes and styles. I can't speak to 00 specifically, but I'm too tall for a lot of brands and was able to find a few pairs of nice jeans there.
@blueskies17, I totally agree with @cait5413 about the full panel. Just gives that small amount of support, even if they do look ridiculous I ordered these from Casual Tree (I'll admit it was a Facebook ad and I was skeptical when I realized they were coming from China), and love them!
@shellac835 I'm totally jealous on that sale! They didn't have many smaller sizes in store at the one nearest me, and it looks like only the "shaping skinny" jeans are on sale online ($39 instead of $69)
Just wanted to let you guys know that I got quite the loot of maternity jeans yesterday. I went to Seraphine.com. They've got a ton of super cute pants and they fit REALLY well. No mom butt over here. @blueskies17 I know you were looking for some jeans like me, so check it out!
@breezybee ooh I looked for a dress for a wedding on seraphine but couldn't find anything (ended up getting something non-maternity). Which jeans did you get (and under or over belly?)! I'm waiting on a pair from topshop but really want to try a pair of under bellies.
Even with a big belly, I couldn't stand the full panel. Itchy on my skin. I'll take a demi or side panel pair of pants. The majority of my stuff came from Motherhood Maternity or Target. I wore a lot of high waisted pants from lululemon as well. Those were awesome for maternity and post partum, plus they held my pooch in until I got pregnant again hah.
@blueskies17 Try the side panel shorts/pants from Target. I think they're Liz Lange?
@blueskies17 I got one pair of over belly jeans, one pair of grey underbelly jeans and a pair of black underbelly jeans. I really prefer the underbelly ones by far!
@KathrynJ088@blueskies17@shellac835 Is there a specific well fitting jeans/pants at H&M? I tried the skinny jeans and some leggings. The leggings could have worked but were not work appropriate. Skinny jeans was too big. Did the maternity pants fit right away or did you have to wait until you got to a certain bump size? Sorry I'm a FTM and have no idea how the fitting works.
@Amber_Waves it looks like they have a store about 50 miles from where I live. Will check it out this week. Thanks for the suggestion!
@YodalsGreen I got the MAMA skinny jeans (over belly) in the store, but can't find the same ones online for some reason (they were $35). I am 15w with a small bump and the panel fits snugly around my waist - the fabric is stretchy so it should grow with me, I hope. I got my normal H&M size (4) and they fit perfectly.
@YodaIsGreen I think it also depends on where they're too big at. If they're too big in the back thigh/under butt region, then they likely still won't fit after the bump grows. I'm 16 wks tomorrow, but with twins, so I'm able to fill out the full panel pretty well already (think 20-21 week size for singleton). These have been the only jeans to fit my butt/thigh region so far.
Finally joining this thread.... so I jumped the gun a little and went to motherhood maternity and we bought a whole bunch of clothes. I got so excited in the store that I teared up and got emotional lol! I hid it though hah. The ladies in the store were also so cute and excited the whole time. I said to them omg u just referred to me as a mom to be. That's so cute!

Ugh, I'm at this in between stage where my old pants aren't comfortable any more, but my maternity pants are too big (they sag/fall). I even tried going to Old Navy and buy a pair of pants 2 sizes larger than my normal size, and they are big in the legs and uncomfortable in the waste. I guess I'll stick with dresses and skirts for the next couple of weeks.

@Tennis11785 I bought a nice flowy maxi dress with a tie in the back yesterday and wore it today. I'm planning on buying quite a bit of those LOL (along with some type of stretchy shorts to keep my thighs from chafing in the heat), a few pairs of maternity shorts and maybe leggings/jeggings. I'm hoping to just buy larger tops or flowy ones. Plus, I already have a few tops.
I bought a few items at motherhood maternity the other week. They should be enough, combined with my previous maternity clothes, to get me through until September. Then we're going to Colorado for a week and I'll have to buy like, 2 pr of pants to get me through the rest of the pregnancy. (My old maternity jeans no longer fit )
What are your favorite maternity scrubs? I'm not so worried about bottoms. I really want to get tops that are long enough. All the ones I'm seeing online look like the bottom of her belly is about to pop out lol.
@speach13 what @vvitchhazel said. I actually never wear scrub tops to work anymore. Strictly t-shirts. And a hoodie. Because apparently my unit has no standards #emerglife haha
Thanks @vvitchhazel & @kvacmak... hopefully that flies on my unit! I start orientation next week and the only thing I know is that black scrubs are the requirement.
I got all the stuff I ordered from old Navy today! The dresses are super cute but the side panel shorts fit so stupidly and were HUGE so I sent them back
welp. welcome to maternity pants for the next...forever. even my pants that were two sizes up were a laughable distance from fitting this morning (and i wore them to work all of last week). i haven't gained a pound in the last two weeks either!
they truly are comfortable but the lack of pockets drives me BATTY. i also only have black...so a lot of my tops either are out completely or i just look like i'm going to a funeral.

So I had been wearing dresses for a few weeks because of the nice weather. Yesterday was cold so I put on my jeans and realized they barely buttoned (definitely not comfortably).I had to use the hair tie trick and then went to H&M on my lunch break at work to buy 2 pairs of maternity jeans!
Loving this thread. At 15 weeks with second baby I am bumping out. I was not prepared for this at all as i didn't show at all until 6 months with first baby. I am usually a size 0-1. I am all belly and boob. I found maternity clothing always fell off me everywhere but the belly. Needless to say i had a ton of fashion leggings i got cheap at styles, forever 21, and Rue 21. My CUTE affordable look leggings with a stretch cotten top. Comfortable and super stylie.
Just got my first pair of maternity jeans, and holy cow you guys, this is a game changer. They're the thin elastic band at the top kind (I'm not even close to big enough for the full panel yet), but the lack of pinching/fat-squeeze-line across my middle is a godsend.
I just went shopping yesterday and wore my first pair of maternity shorts to. Sooo comfy! I bought a few maxi dresses and maternity tops. I found quite a bit in the clearance section at Motherhood Maternity and it was super cheap. Most of the stuff I bought, I could also wear after pregnancy.
I went to old navy the other day and they had the "Swing Dress" for 12 bucks. I grabbed one and I think I'm going to go get some more. It's not maternity, but it's loose and flowy and fits while some of my jeans are getting too tight. I'm hoping to make it through the summer in dresses before having to buy maternity pants this fall. Just wanted to share because the price was so reasonable and they are super soft and comfy.
So, those Old Navy swing dresses are on sale for $8-$12. Awesome... Unless you're plus size. Then they're on sale for $32, which is $6 more than the original cost of the straight size dress. Also, size XXL is $8, while 1X is $32. Why? I get plus size is more material, but not THAT much more. Insulting much? This just reminded me why I stopped shopping there.
@kaylawing I just got one of those dresses too, and I love it! It's great for now, and I think it will still fit through the summer. I think it's big enough (I also sized up) that it should work for the summer, and when I get big enough that it would be too short, it will be out of season.

Edit: I got excited and posted too soon, lol. How are they, lengthwise? I worry about non-maternity dresses getting too short as the belly grows.

@Tennis11785 I sized up as well and it's been working out well.
@vvitchhazel that's ridiculous! I agree that the price difference between those sizes is absurd.
