Another silly ques from me. Since I used to use the wondfos, I used to test in AM and then later that nite. I'm now using the clear blue advanced. I know ur supposed to test at same time every day. Pretty sure I won't be home on my peak day to test. Do you think an hour or so later is fine? Only reason I'm obsessing is because I have to take the progesterone...
@sprkls8506 I believe, but don't quote me, your supposed to use fmu to test with clearblue. I've been on vacation the past two months for my peak days and I just tore them along with me like the crazy person I am. Hope that helps!!
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
@sprkls8506 i think it's fine if it's an hour or so different. Once I get a high test I start testing twice a day in morning and evening. I don't always test same time each day just with first urine in am. My afternoon tests are random and never at same time.
I only ever used it in the mornings @sprkls8506 - are you charting with temps? I ask because if you are that might help you really indicate O before you take progesterone.
DH was really tired from the long weekend but he took one for the team last night. I told him we could wait until tonight but he powered thru it. he passed out right afterwards. I was in the bathroom and then came out to wake him up and he literally asked me "did i finish" bwahahahaha. I fed him 5 supplements this morning and he couldn't believe how many I was giving him.
Thanks ladies. I am pretty sure O is day 14 or 15 but obviously want to make sure with the progesterone. I've just read some people miss the surge because it might be short. I don't temp because my sleep is all over the place. I wake up about 100x a nite and sometimes I'm up at 6am sometimes 7am.
@sprkls8506 the short surge is why I started taking them in afternoon too but only do that on days of blinking smiley...I have gotten a peak test in the evening followed by the next day of peak. Also I wake up at least 3 times per and I still temp. I didn't think it would work since I wake up so many times but it does. I just take temp when I'm going to get for the day and I try to keep it around the same time of day. Sometimes I'm off an hour or two but I still take it and record it. It usually doesn't throw things off too bad
I only ever used the regular clear blue no advanced. From what I remember it indicates the LH surge then I would O the next day. Personally if I were you I would not use prog until 2 days after a solid smile face opk.
I'm a bit late to this party, but am joining you guys over here in WTO.
First post loss AF came on Saturday, so I'm now officially unbenched! @ELeighMay@fishee333 I know how you both feel! I've never been so excited for AF, just because that means things may finally be getting back to normal! I'm on CD 3 now, so I guess we'll start EOD in a few days.
@ELeighMay sorry about you DHs comments. I know with my loss, my DH was upset and he knew that I was upset, but he was just able to move on a lot quicker than me.
Im interested to research some of these supplements that everyone's mentioning. I just take my prenatal currently, but it might be worth adding a supplement or two if it could help at all. Thanks for the info!
@pumpkinpancake YAY for AF!! I'm CD9 today and still relieved as hell to actually know what the heck day I'm on even if everything is still goofy. That limbo of just waiting sucks. GL to you this cycle, I hope you're flying out of here in no time!
@pumpkinpancake - my OB has literally been no help with supplements. He suggests clomid but I really don't want to because I thought about it but then broke out in hives on my back. That's a clue not to! lol.
CoQ10 is the most powerful antioxidant in the form of ubiqinol. It is crucial in cell production and gives sperm and eggs more quality of life. We are also taking vitamin C because it's an antioxidant as well. Maca Root can naturally balance hormones and increase fertility. Make sure your DH is taking a multivitamin and you take a pre natal. I take Rainbow Light. I'll let you know if I come across more info regarding more supplements. I've been tossing around the idea of taking Red Raspberry Leaf in capsule form. Oh and we are using Pre Seed during FW for sure now and EOD sex days 10-20. This is our first month trying this combination of everything. I've been doing my own research. At this point of my life I'd rather do this than medical intervention.
If your hormones are all in check and normal don't take anything that might mess with them. Soy Iso is a natural estrogen and could cause you to not ovulate if you already do.....Vitex I think increases progesterone but to high of progesterone is just as bad as to low of prog. So I'm avoiding all supplements that are shown to change up your hormones since all of mine have been tested and are in normal range. DH's sperm is normal too.
And I go here now. CD 1 sucks, but at least AF showed up while I was at home this evening, before I left to see friends. And it meant I actually got to drink at pub trivia tonight. And we won, so that was nice too. My favorite part of WTO (besides all the BDing, since we do that all month long) is not feeling (as) guilty about drinking during it.
Finally, I can contribute instead of just lurking and waiting for AF
CD 5 today and I went for my baseline yesterday. I started 5 mg of femara and 100 IU of Gonal F last night. I go back in for monitoring on Friday morning and will probably start the Orgalutran then. I'm guessing b2b IUI early next week. Hopefully with all the delays we've had, it's given the CoQ10 a couple of months to start working its magic.
Had a really good talk with DH last night which was much needed. We are both thankful for the life and children we have and we can definitely be happy with that if treatments don't work, but both of us would like to take treatments month by month as we're not quite ready to give up yet (although we're getting a little emotionally run down). Our talk has given me some new energy to continue as I don't feel like I am overwhelmed by racing against his "clock" like I have been feeling. This will be an emotional cycle for me as it was in September of last year that I got pregnant with our first loss. Here's to hoping for my rainbow baby.

@tosh24 glad you are able to start treatments. Also good to have talk with DH. We had a similar talk a week or so ago. I'm curious about your IUI process as it seems a little different from mine. I started femara on CD 3 then I didn't start gonal f until CD5. Then used ovidrel for trigger shot. I only had 2 follicles which is all I got from femara alone.
@tosh24- sounds like you guys have a great plan. We've also had a talk where we really are happy with the 1 kid we do have but we still don't want to give up. It feels much less stressful this time around. DH now realizes there really is a fertile week and it does matter to BD during that time for optimal timing. So no DH I can't get pregnant the day before AF comes.
@Mack2342 For my first 3 IUIs I took 8 pills of 2.5 mg femara on Day 3. Then I was just monitored until follies were ready and I triggered with Ovidrel. IUI the next day and the day after. With my cancelled cycle last month, my protocol was 5 mg of femara and 50 IU of Gonal F from days 3-7. At my monitoring appointment they saw that I only had one follicle already at 18 mm on day 7 and because I had *just* finished AF, my lining was only at 5 mm. Also, my LH was beginning to surge. My doctor thought we could save the cycle but with only one follie (I O on my own anyway) and an already stressed out DH who was out of town and would have had to race back, I decided to cancel. The break, although frustrating at first, was actually kind of a nice recharge. This month, my baseline was on CD 4 instead of CD 3 (they can be anywhere from CD 2 to CD4), so I started my meds on CD 4. I am taking 5 mg of femara from CD 4-CD8 and right now the Gonal F from CD4-CD7. I go back on CD 8 for monitoring. I will probably add in the Orgalutran (ovulation suppressant) that night for a couple of days and then go back for more monitoring. I don't know why I start both meds at the same time. My cycles are short so I tend to ovulate on the early side so maybe my RE is thinking if we wait, I won't have enough meds in my system to recruit multiple eggs. I don't know.
How much Gonal F are you on? I've seen ladies on the IF board who have had better luck once they get rid of the femara/inject combo and just move to straight injects, but when I asked my RE about it he said he wants to keep the femara in my protocol so that my body is using it's own hormones in addition to injecting the synthetic hormones.

MrsBunz Do you have a drink of choice? I suck at trivia, unless it's movies, but love to go with our group of friends here. It's amazing to watch those minds work. We have a crazy diverse group of smart people that all are great for all different topics so they win a lot of beer.
@ELeighMay my go to drink is a hard cider, since I am normally driving, and I typically get a Honey Strongbow. And that's how we do it too. I am fairly strong in most categories (I have a weird brain that remembers useless knowledge but can't remember where i put the car keys), but I am rubbish at sports, so we have someone on the team who can fill that knowledge gap, and another one for music. The running joke is that I am the trivia team and everyone else is along for moral support. I'd say that isn't true (because it sounds so cocky), but one time they all bailed on me, I played alone, and still took first. So I'll embrace it.
Hi ladies. I go here now. AF arrived last night but I'm going to count today as CD1. I had a bit of a cry last night but am feeling a little better about it. You'd think it would get easier considering I've been TTC for so long, but yesterday was a bit rough. My mom had to put her dog down yesterday morning. He was 15 and part of the family. It was a sad day for all of us. Then AF arrived. I guess it was just too much for me.
@MooFish2364 sorry about CD1 and about your mom's dog. My mom had to put down her cat (that was our family cat while I was growing up) a few years ago, and it was rough. Sometimes you just need a good cry to let it out. Hugs!!
MooFish2364 I'm sorry you're back here. I hope to never see you in the WTO room again. *hugs*
I'm CD 11 and started using OPK's early with not really knowing when I'll O this month. Each morning I have to remind myself it's still early when I get the solid zero. I swear, for as closely as I'm watching every little detail you'd think I could remember what day I'm on so I don't panic that OMG, maybe I'm not going to ovulate for some reason!.Good grief, like I need more irrational things to panic about. I'm also irrationally worried that my OPK handle that came in my kit will for some reason be defective, although there is absolutely no basis for this thinking. I'm going nuts ladies.
it's ok @ELeighMay - I've been there! Currently CD 13 and I will start OPK tomorrow AM. I'm only using them this cycle because I haven't since Feb and I want to make sure I'm still O'ing when I think I am CD14-16. Got in some BD again last night so far so good with EOD.
I got the blinking smiley today. Of course, I hate that even perfect timing doesn't mean good luck for the month. I try not to be so pessimistic but some months it's hard!!!
@vlagrl29 Normally I wouldn't start them until CD13 either, but with this being my first full cycle since it returned I wasn't sure if it would be wonky and my luck I'd miss it.
Ok I have decided to take the pressure off myself and NTNP, for the most part, this cycle. CD7 at the moment, but I'm going to *try* not to really keep track of my cycle this month. We'll see how that goes.
Question: I've noticed some of you ladies BD every other day rather than every day during ovulation - is there evidence that this is supposed to be better?
@fishee333 my OB says every other day is better cause the sperm needs to build back up. I couldn't every day and neither could dh - we aren't in our 20s anymore lol plus it gives me a uti. enjoy the break. I just recently came off a break of 3 months and just what I needed. My mind is much more clear and I'm not stressed going into it again.
so I don't know what it is about yoga but literally after every class I have during FW I'll have CM come out. Today was the ewcm so I must be close to O.
question about OPKs - I use to use the digital ones but this month I'm using the ones with a control line. I took one this morning with a very faint 2nd line on CD14. So is it not positive until it matches the control line with the same kind of darkness?
@vlagrl29 yes, you will want to wait until it is slightly darker than the control line. If you usually O around this time of your cycle, be sure to test 2x a day. I will have a medium line in the morning and a strong positive in the afternoon. You don't want to miss your surge!
