@safire3 and BusinessWife I wonder about natural vs med FET. Mine was natural. I don't know why you'd need all the meds.
helloworld9 Thank you! I am still getting positives on my HPT but I feel like I can never relax about it. Beta tomorrow.
angelbea So sorry about your worries. Maybe we can still be hopeful and see how it turns out. I am thinking of you!
@BusinessWife You will be happy in the future that you delayed things a little longer. It will be worth it. I hope it goes super speedy for you. Find some ways to treat your self in the meantime!
AFM TW I am still getting BFP and they are getting darker. Baseline tomorrow.

@funkykey I saw the part 1 and 2 of the latest biotex bullcrap! I CANT! I so couldn't deal I legit ended up erasing what I had typed! It was not very nice! Lol... i don't know why they get to do this but it makes me want to find these people (probably not even women) and punch them in the nose!
@JaeJayStark it's totally normal for people to have medicated fet's. There are a bunch of different versions of the medicated fet protocol. Sometimes people need ivf for more than one reason. If one of those reasons include anything to do with a hormone imbalance then added hormones is the only way for some women to become pregnant. You are very lucky you didn't need meds. Many girls do. Some women will go through medicated pregnancies as well since that's the only way they can stay pregnant. In some cases a clinic will routinely medicate women doing transfers even if the women don't need it because it won't hurt them and is a little inconvenient maybe or a little uncomfortable, but ultimately worth it. hope that helps!
@BusinessWife that must have been a hard decision to make I'm sorry there will be more waiting before you can transfer. Hopefully though, it will all be worthwhile and when you look back you won't feel like 1 more month was that much longer. (although I know it will probably feel extremely long right now). I'll be lurking to see how things are going, FX this is a productive cycle for you!

@ReesaAnne16 Oh, believe me. I think you understand more than most what a difficult decision this was for us. My doctor really tried to caution me that the next cycle could go totally differently and we could end up with like, 8 more blasts! But I mean, I guess I just don't think that's too likely, and even then, if our "worst case scenario" means I have 11 FETs to power through, with likely not more than 6 or 7 live births to show for it, tops, WHAT A WONDERFUL PROBLEM TO HAVE!!! I think realistically, if we did end up with a situation like that, where we literally have over ten, I might be more interested in pushing DH for pgs after the fact? I just feel like I mean, all these things, we can cross that bridge if we get to it. Even say we get double the embryos this time, that's still just 3+6=9 transfers and probably not 9 outside babies. :(
The kicker will be if I keep this job after No. 1 arrives, maybe just go back part time even? Bc even though the transfers are more affordable than the reteievals, I would hate down the road for $$ to be the reason we didn't go back to transfer them all. So much to consider.
You know what did it for me tho? I kind of just checked my feelings. With our three, the thought of moving onto transfer had me feeling a little wistful... like maybe after all this trouble, it was great and all, but we still might not get what felt like our complete family at the end of it all. But after my conversation with the doctor and we decided we were going to go for it? I felt So Happy!!! Like, so excited! I was laugh-crying. Feeling like yes! we are going to be able to bring home our babies! We will have used both MESA samples after the second cycle, which are the more prolific samples. So this will still leave us with the two TESE samples as backup in case the transfers don't go as smoothly as we hope. So I feel like it's a solid plan to get us to the family we always dreamt of!
I think about it like this too - any other normal couple, just bc they have a kid, or two, they don't necessarily shut the door on more. (I mean some do, but that's their choice). Any other couple with normal fertility is only limited by the onset of menopause, and could always end up getting pregnant again in the future if they aren't preventing. But we don't have the luxury of that freedom to, "just try again," in the future if we feel like it. Not if the embryos simply aren't there. So in that way, I think its similar to how you have your extra retrieved eggs in the bank too! What a gift to be able to "try again" in the future if you so choose. ;) (without having to go through another retrieval.)
@BusinessWife I'm glad you feel excited! that's so important! It's clear you've thought carefully about this decision. It really does make sense to do everything you can when you're young. That's how I feel about my banked eggs, they are probably the highest quality I will ever have, so they are worth the freezing and storage fees, even if we never end up using them.

funkykey hey chica how r u doing?? Won't it be nice when we're all mamas and just have dirty diapers to worry about and not what time to take a shot or pill...I'm so over it already! As i look at the bruises on my arms from the nurses poking me 3x just to get blood when is your surgery set for? We all know how tough it is to move on to transfer or do another round. @BusinessWife its such a tough call but I think its smart if you're still in the frame of mind and don't mind waiting a lil while longer...coming from the girl who did 5 cycles in a row...well i did have the last month off as I was cycling for the FET originally so hard to know when you're body is ready. I hope this next round gives you more frosties. I've been very tortured each cycle wondering what to do. And I too have that feeling BUT being older the luckily hood of it just happening is so HIGHLY unlikely I rather know i have the choice! Here's to my basketball team AND being able to afford it I hate that insurance plays a roll in this but smart to get the coverage while u can for sure!!!
@dragonette505 so i missed that part of the nurses email and i'm going to choose to ignore it. They're just trying to downplay it. One cycle I had 6 frosties make it to blasts to send out for testing...come on! Lets have some faith!!
ReesaAnne16 I wish i had that knowledge at your age and had eggs in the freezer, who knew!!! how are you feeling??

Hello ladies. I've been reading all the posts here everyday and I'm praying that everyone here will receive encouragement and strength to press on. IF is awful and what we all go through - the procedures and decisions to make- are tough. I'm sending you all big hugs!
AFM - AF arrived and will be meeting my dr on 9/19. DH has been emotional recently and blaming himself for us not having a kid. He blames his sperms and the meds he's taking. Of course I tried my best to cheer him up but im not sure it was enough. He started to become pessimistic about our FET in Oct. He worries about the quality of that ONE frozen embaby we have that even if it does implant and I get pregnant, that may cause a problem and that I might get in danger. I told him that I'm willing to take the risk since we won't know what will really happen unless we try.
We are also considering to transfer to another clinic. My husband and I are not so satisfied on the service we are receiving right now at our hospital. We don't get much explanation and my DH is doubtful about their skill. As for the new clinic, they have a high success rate but we heard the Dr there has the reputation of being a bit rough in dealing with her patients.
dragonette505 That totally makes sense. Thank you for enlightening me! I have so much to learn. I do take progesterone suppositories but I guess they don't consider that a medicated FET.
Yeah, it really depends.... I had what my clinic called a natural FET, and I had to trigger (even though I ovulate regularly) and had progesterone and estrogen to support implantation. So it also depends on what your clinic calls "natural". I personally don't consider that FET natural but hey, it worked. (Tw) ended in mc due to embryo issues, but the fet worked perfectly
@Hopeful_mom I can only hope they are giving me lowball estimates but she said "based on my age" so I'm sure they are just going by how much harder it is to get a good number at my age I guess that's realistic
@tinjp78 it might not hurt to go to another clinic. Especially if they have better success rates, but are you considering a new cycle or just this FET?
@tinjp78 yeah I would agree if you don't feel comfortable with your current clinic it doesn't hurt to have a second opinion to see what they think moving forward. Good luck with everything and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for either FET or a new cycle!!
AFM: lab called the third one didn't make it to freeze and arrested over night. We have two frosty embabies one grade 1 and the other grade 2. Plan is still to move forward with FET although I am considering doing another cycle ... ugh! I just wish someone could give us the "right" answer LOL
Me 30 DH: 31 Married for 7 years Dx: MFI TTC since 2016 August 2017: IVF #1 (11 eggs retrieved, 8 mature, 3 fertilized with ICIS, 2 Frozen) FET #1: October 11th -- Beta only 12. CP FET #2: January 12th -- BFP!
Hey all, I've been following along and love titting as I go. @BusinessWife I'm so glad you've decided to do another cycle and that it's made you just so much lighter. It sounds like it's really the right decision for you and it won't lead to any regrets, which is the key! I'm hopeful you'll still at least start your FET cycle with us over in October. :-) We're in a similar position as you re: the number of embryos we ended up with. I think if we were not OOP, I'd probably have pushed harder for a second cycle, so I fully support your decision. Good luck!!
@funkykey and @dragonette505 Apparently I need to be digging into other threads because I'm missing all the drama! Was there also a catfish?
@dragonette505 Great report! I know your RE is being a Debby downer but I hope your embies prove her wrong.
@tnh0413 Hooray on your strong embies! I know you were so worried, so I'm really happy for this outcome!
@Hopeful_mom Bah to your body! Any update today? Hoping your levels go back up and you can get this FET done!
@angelbea First, oh wow, your experience sounds so scary! I am so sorry you went through that! Second, really pulling for your embie. After all you went through, it better make it!
Thanks! @Bababatty. I hope so too! Hoping they will reschedule my hysterosopt for Oct 18th, and we can go from there...
@tnh0413 I am so sorry the last one arrested. :'( That's not unlike us, 2-3 club here. We also have amazing ivf coverage right now, so for us it doesn't make sense to put it off, from a financial pov, we may never be able to afford it again if our insurance changes! But it's a very personal decision with a lot to factor in, and no two situations are alike... Luckily, you have some time to thinking over. (((Hugs))) *rephrasing
@tnh0413 omg! Sux the 3rd didn't make it, but 2 is amazing.... especially 2 out of 3!!! My next update is tomorrow @Bababatty I hope so too! These embie reports are such a roller coaster
ReesaAnne16 I wish i had that knowledge at your age and had eggs in the freezer, who knew!!! how are you feeling??
I'm feeling fine, normal which kind of makes me nervous. I was so bloated after the transfer for several days, and I have had some very minor cramping (10seconds or so 2-3 times a day). But that's it. It's so hard not to be nervous and read into all this, I know it's early. I'm out of HPTs so it's just a waiting game for the next couple weeks..
Ladies, there is still more waiting!!! Ugg.
On the plus side i'm done with PIO shots now that insurance will pay for crinone! We've been OOP this whole time, so it's like FINALLY the insurance will pay for something.

@tinjp78 I think it's always a good idea to consult with another clinic. We probably would have never pursued IVF if we hadn't met with our current RE. She was the perfect fit for us, cared about what we wanted and was willing to be flexible with our treatment plan. I recommend having at least a consult with the new clinic to get a second opinion, but be prepared for more waiting and possibly to have to repeat some testing.

She basically says the DR forwarded the email I sent to her and am i now cancelling my FET. um why?? Because I said I don't want a new DR doing my transfer? Not sure why she doesn't realize I've been with this clinic so long I have had the other 2 REs at this point...they have brought on a new dr that I just dont want. Does that sounds horrible sure, she could be the best, I just don't feel like dealing with it. Is that the right decision who knows. Back to the clinic I go tomorrow...

@Bababatty - oh man, be glad you haven't seen them. They always start like: "I am a young, healthy, married woman. In great shape. I am beautiful woman. We started trying to have baby, and doctors told me there was no chance! I was so sad. Devastated. It was black day. My husband was so sad, he wants son/little prince. We needed surrogate."
Then: "Thankfully, I found Biotex, and now I have healthy baby!"
But at first, sometimes it's hard to tell if it's a real woman who's English isn't great or a catfish. I think I've seen a couple threads where it's turned out to be a fake woman - it's usually that the dates don't add up, or the advice they say they're getting from their doctor is odd, or they overstate/understate their responses to the medication.... They weren't shilling biotex, but maybe wanted attention.
I mean, I want to be supportive, but when it seems like someone is a spammer, I'm like: "fuck you for exploiting my goodwill, some of us are actually dealing with a difficult situation. go away, you leach." You know?
HI ladies. Thank for all the supportive messages. It's been quite an emotional week. Well, it looks like we have one embryo to test, which is a Day 7 6BA. Day 7 embies are not usually viable, but I wonder if, since it is a 6 (meaning, fully hatched), perhaps it got the 5 stage (hatching) later on Day 6 (since my clinic only checks in the morning), so it technically, could be considered a Day 6? I am just reaching for straws here, but I do wonder. My clinic will only freeze/test embryos once they get to the 5 or 6 state (hatching or hatched), which typically happens on Day 5 or 6 (if it's normal). I should know in a few days, so will update soon.
Me: 41; DH: 45 Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries (2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal! FET on 7/10/17 Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:( (8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.

@Hopeful_mom so are they going to try to make you wait a cycle?!? That's cray! They should just give you one of the ppl you've worked with. At my last clinic I told my doc I never wanted to do another retrieval with his partner and he was cool with that.... its your money and your body and you should have choices
@ReesaAnne16. I hear lots of women say they had virtually no symptoms. Try not to worry!

God's got this!!! ;)
I know Sept 26th can't come soon enough tho... hang in there and just try to trust and believe that everything's going to be okay. :)
@Hopeful_mom "Just calling to let you know we cancelled your FET!" What an idiot. I'm sorry, but I am so serious. I feel bad sometimes for these awesome doctors with friggin noodlehead office staff. Our RU's office is like that. And he is like automatically all our babies' Godfather or something. I love him so much for what he did for us! His surgical scheduler is great, everyone else is lkke they just rolled off a turnip truck. Ughh. Hope you get it all straightened out tho. (((Hugs))) I know you will.
@angelbea I didn't know that about testing! Will be keeping everything crossed for your little fighter!!! ❤❤❤

@angelbea I hope they can test your embie, if not will you have them freeze it anyway?? Sounds like it is awesome quality!!
Yes, they will test and it is frozen now. I should get the results in 4-7 days. My friend transferred a Day 7 "normal" embie and it didn't stick. I think the odds are only like 15-20% of a Day 7 working out. We shall see!
@tnh0413 I know that's tough news! I only had two make it. What ever decision you make, trust yourself and try not to dwell. You are doing the best you can!
BusinessWife! Thank you! Love your last GIF! I watched it like 30 times.
angelbea It's so interesting how clinics do these things all different. I wonder why they don't use the non-hatched/hatching ones. Or, when do some decide to do assisted hatching. I'm rooting for good results!
Bababatty I remember your name from before. What's your status these days?

@tnh0413@dragonette505@ReesaAnne16@Hopeful_mom Thank you for your advice. In October, we will do FET in our current hospital. If in case it fails, which I hope and pray that it WON'T, we would transfer to a new clinic.
@angelbea I hope you get more rest and recover completely.
@BusinessWife Thanks for the reminder, yes - God's got this! Amen!
Oh, the strength this thread has is just beyond me. You ladies here inspire me every day. (((Hugs)))
@angelbea - There is still hope! It only takes one.
@Hopeful_mom - What??? They are cancelling your FET? I would be so enraged and furious! Not to mention all of that money spent on the meds to prep for this moment!
@JaeJayStark - Whooo! Great beta! When is your next?
@ReesaAnne16 - Sept 26 feels like such a long time from now, at least for me! I hope time flies by for you. And fwiw I don't really feel any symptoms either honestly... no nausea or anything major.
@funkykey - You know, I've heard of biotex before, and I think a celebrity used it. I'm going to have to google and find out. Ok, I just tried and couldn't find it. Maybe I'm like reading so many spam posts that my mind is thinking someone famous used it. Bah!
@tnh0413 - 2 is great! And I know the feeling of wanting to do another cycle just in case... I feel like we can never be sure of anything. My husband told me to just try a transfer and see.
@tinjp78 - I agree that it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion, especially if you are not particularly pleased with your current doctor.
@BusinessWife - It's so hard to plan all of this ahead of time, way ahead of time! I expressed this to one of my friends who has one child, and she said she thought she wanted another but one is already a handful so she doesn't think she's going to try for another. She told me you might change your mind. She definitely has a point there!
AFM, I had a second ultrasound today at 6 weeks 3 days. They found a heartbeat, which is 110 bpm. The clinic said they wanted to see anything above 100. I'm feeling a little bit better now! They told me they will continue to see me each week now. I'm still in disbelief about all of this. One of the nurses who did my teaching visit two months ago saw me and said she was so surprised to see my name on the appointment list, with "OB, on her own" written on it. I remember her because I literally cried on the teaching visit I told her I would do anything to have a baby and I will do all the shots.
My TTC journey:
Me and DH: 30-35 Unexplained infertility TTC #1 since 2015 11/2015 - BFP! 12/2015 - MC IVF #1 July 2017 freeze all (20 eggs, 15 mature, 10 fert, 6 blasts, 4 PGS normal) FET #1 TBD Surprise BFP 9/2017 while waiting for FET... hoping for the best!
@helloworld9 - I blame the Kardashians. They sell all that sketchy tea on instagram, and it's all called names like: "biotea", and then we know everything about their surrogacy too... At least, that's my theory.
@dragonette505 - I especially like the ones where they mention that the beautiful woman is actually a model. "I am so healthy, I am also model." Kills me. At first, I was like: "Ok, we get it. You're really, really goodlooking..."
And would roll my eyes, but now it makes me laugh. We should start a drinking game - have a tequila whenever a spammer talks about how amazingly good looking they are.
@Hopeful_mom - Oh man, from your post, I didn't think you were cancelling, I just thought you might have to use another doctor for the FET. FX for you that it works out, and you don't have to use the lame one.
@hopeful_mom They cancelled it?! Oh wow i did not understand that. WTF?! I really hope they can fix this mistake.
@Funkykey LOL that would make me ragey, too! I think I'll avoid hunting down any of these threads. I hate giving someone the benefit of the doubt and then having some marketing scheme thrown in my face, haha.
@JaeJayStark Great results! Congratulations! We did our IVF cycle in August with a fresh transfer and a BFN. Our FET will be in October, just have to get a pesky SHG out of the way. So many doctor's appointments. I just told DH it would be a crying shame if I was actually at work consistently for an entire week.
@angelbea I'm glad to hear you got one to day 7. I know the odds aren't as good, but I've got lots of hope for you!
Urgh! I re read my take home papers and it says that I am supposed to call on day 6 for the final results!! I have been waiting for an update and nothing so far! I hoped that was a typo... ugh why do they make it so hard?!? Still hoping the slip up and go ahead and send me an update!! Lol
Hi everyone! Update I ended up getting transfer today instead of tomorrow due to doc schedule. It went well no pain as everyone mentioned. Just resting now & feeling good so far. For those you transferred, any foods or drinks you're avoiding like coffee, certain teas? Just feeling lost what to eat/drink & what not to?
Re: Anyone doing IVF in July/August?
helloworld9 Thank you!

It really does make sense to do everything you can when you're young. That's how I feel about my banked eggs, they are probably the highest quality I will ever have, so they are worth the freezing and storage fees, even if we never end up using them.

@dragonette505 so i missed that part of the nurses email and i'm going to choose to ignore it. They're just trying to downplay it. One cycle I had 6 frosties make it to blasts to send out for testing...come on! Lets have some faith!!

I guess that's realistic
@dragonette505 when do you get another update?
AFM: lab called the third one didn't make it to freeze and arrested over night. We have two frosty embabies one grade 1 and the other grade 2. Plan is still to move forward with FET although I am considering doing another cycle ... ugh! I just wish someone could give us the "right" answer LOL
Dx: MFI

August 2017: IVF #1 (11 eggs retrieved, 8 mature, 3 fertilized with ICIS, 2 Frozen)
FET #1: October 11th -- Beta only 12. CP
FET #2: January 12th -- BFP!
(((Hugs)))
*rephrasing
@Bababatty I hope so too! These embie reports are such a roller coaster

***TW**** My RE is in labor go figure, we knew it was bound to happen so regardless of my delays she wouldn't have been able to do my transfer on friday anyway booooooo! Her water broke this morning and I'm laughing that I get a call at 8am from the nurses to let me know HAAAAAAA!!! AND this one nurse has no TACT at all.

Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries

(4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal!
FET on 7/10/17
Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:(
(8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.
I'm sorry your RE won't be available to do your FET. I honestly think it must have been really hard for you to watch her pregnancy the last 9 months, you are so strong! I hope you have a good experience with one of the other doctors and that you get to transfer soon!!

What an idiot.

@funkykey and @dragonette505 you all are cracking me up here at my desk with the biotech stuff and then that gif! Thanks for the laughs.
why do they make it so hard?!?
Still hoping the slip up and go ahead and send me an update!! Lol
