@Hopeful_mom So my baselines were okay I think, this morning.  12 under 10 on the R and 9 under 10 on the Left... plus a 17mm!!! Apparently it's just an empty follicle that refilled with fluid?  And a 12mm hemmhoragic cyst? Poor ovaries took a beating it seems like. :/ but my E was 33 and P 0.5 so we were cleared to go!  We are doing basically the same low-dose HSG with Follistim protocol, but starting at 450 of the Follistim instead of 300.  I'm hoping we can manage to stim just one day shorter than last time that way, and maybe have my retrieval fall on the Sunday and not have to call out of work???  :#  maybe???

You guys, I dunno if it's the meds or what, but I am just zonked.  I am off from the Bank today and I'm like, great!  I have all this stuff I need to get caught up on at home!  Dudes, I just woke up.  Got DH to work, watched Mindy Project, and fell back asleep with the dog for like, four hours. Wth???  I still feel like I could keep sleeping...

first off: @angelbea I am so sorry and I feel you. This process can be so draining and hard on the body and mind. I know you will make the best decision for you, but know I'm here with you.... this whole thing sux...

i read everyone's encouragement last night and love you all for it.... you ladies are the only reason I can keep sticking myself with these stupid needles.
So I think my clinic is very conservative about what they freeze.... I don't know if that's good or awful because they probably count out some embies that might be ok.... anyway luckily I got 2 to freeze anyway, but there was nothing but silence from my last update.... not sure why they wouldn't have told me.... also, the report I got today (after having to ask if there was an update) was this:
Dude! So were they Day 6 or today Day 7??? This is the ONLY info in my embryo update.... no grading info or whatever.
anyway.... I am also dealing with an awful cold (guess that's what happens when you have surgery and travel right after). 
Anyway.... thank you all for being so awesome.... 
im gonna go back and wrap myself in blankets

No testing.... I'll be testing them in my uterus. I'm mostly annoyed that they didn't update me right away and gave no details... so weird
also I don't know how they do it at my clinic, but if they don't have any funky rules im gonna cycle again right away (with the usual prep cycle in between).

@Hopeful_mom - Obviously I would rather not be sick while pregnant! I need to stay in tip top shape. It seems like it's normal to get nausea and I really haven't had any.

AFM nothing much going on. I continue to wait impatiently for AF so I can go in and start the process for my FET. Hopefully it will be soon because I'm having back pain and cramping so we will see.

Bad news from me. The doctor's office called yesterday, and the soonest they can get me in for the polypectomy is DECEMBER.

I cried on the phone, obviously.

I feel really sad and confused.

To recap, just because this is a long and boring story, and I don't know if I've given all the details here, maybe because I'm a little embarrassed at how f*cked and depressing the whole situation is...: My RE first noticed what he thought was a small polyp on my uterus at my baseline u/s, before I even started the pre-IVF bc - in June! On June 1st! He said it was NBD, and then another doctor did my pre-retrieval u/s, and was like: "let's look at this." They told me I'd need to switch from a fresh to a frozen, and that we'd do a hysteroscopy. They told me they might even be able to remove the polyp with the camera at the hysteroscopy.

At the hysteroscopy, they told me it was a fibroid, and referred me to another doctor to do the removal surgery... I had to wait a couple of weeks for the consult, and at the consult u/s she was like: "actually, it's a polyp" (which, I'm not sure that I believe, given the hysteroscopy) and then she was on vacation for 2-3 weeks, and was like: "it probably won't be until November that we can do the surgery, but we'll confirm when I'm back from vacation." 

So I wait. And then I call them a few times to follow-up and ask. And then they call me and tell me it's going to be in mid-December!!!

Why the wait?... For the most part, we're OOP, but my insurance will cover the polypectomy. My insurance doesn't cover any of the stuff relating to TTC (ie. clomid, IVF), but it will cover things like imaging my existing body (so at my clinic, I don't pay extra for each ultrasound), and I didn't have to pay extra for the hysteroscopy or the surgical consult and I won't be OOP for the polypectomy.... I mean, we're still like 20k OOP for all these treatments, but I guess I won't be OOP more for this...

The downside is that because it's covered, I have to wait longer and there are only certain doctors who can do it... When I got the news from this doctor, I called another one to see if she could do it sooner, and her office said they couldn't even see me for a consult for 6 months! They said I might have better luck with a male doctor. UGH.

It seems really, really endless.

THANKS ladies - keep thinking that on monday and through the week...finally slept today and I'm getting ready!  Having to do the suppositories and a PIO I felt like I was crossing off all my to do's on top of all the vitamins and extra meds...my goodness!!

@funkykey I'm wondering if it's a longer wait now that it's a fibroid (guess it's a myomectomy now?) I also was thought to have a polyp that turned out to be a couple fibroids. Not sure what they told you, but recovery is usually also a bit longer.... though maybe not if yours is very small. Are you only looking for female surgeons? Mine was a dude and you know.... i was asleep for the whole thing, so it could've been a care bear for all I knew lol! But I admit.... I'm one who doesn't care about my docs gender.

I'm so sorry about the added wait time @funkykey. I had no idea!  are you doing another retrieval in between?  Or i guess not?  I feel so bad too, my old college friend I didn't realise had gone through ivf once before already, when she told me she was waiting till the new year

Curious how long to expect between polypectomy and FET?  Now I feel like a real TW for stressing about bumping mine from Oct 18 to Oct 11th if we can swing it.... :/  I will be on BCPs, and my nurse said likely 4 days after polypectomy we can begin the FET cycle, which mean start estrogen pills, I guess?  Then monitor the lining and add PIO for five days prior.  So how long would this all be?  4 days prior + 5 days of estrogen + 5 pio?  Or more like 7-10 days estrogen + 5 pio?  I'm going BSC about EDDs based on transfer date.  And actually if its a couple weeks after the October 18 surgery, it puts my edd crazy-close to DHs birthday, ****TW****

I am grateful fir that, but then like what about the estrogen?  Can I expect to be on that like days?   A week? Several weeks?  Before starting PIO?  And what do you think the chances are of getting my doctor to switch me to suppositories??? :#  lol

@dragonette505 - no! I hadn't even realized that it might be faster with a man. I was referred to a woman by chance- I guess a lot of women prefer female doctors! I mean, my GP is a woman and I love her, but for this one-time specialist procedure? I just want who can get me in fastest!

@BusinessWife - the wait between will be at least a cycle, maybe more depending on how I heal. 

No, we're not planning to do another retrieval while we wait.

@funkykey you have had such a long road already.  I hope they are able to get you scheduled in November like they originally said. Maybe that's a good ppint to ask for any doctor male/female?  Or any cancellations? Sometimes they don't have a running "list" but if you call in weekly and ask, you might get lucky?  I do believe whenever it happens, it will be the perfect timing, for whatever reason, maybe reasons we don't even know about.  You have so much patience, I know you can make this final stretch, too. (((Hugs)))


I asked the nurse and she said I could expect to be on estrogen for 11-12 days while the lining gets ready, and then they base the start of the PIO on five days prior to the scheduled transfer date, so good to know I can expect at least 20 days after surgery, so I'm not getting too awfully anxious, and know better what to expect.

@funkykey I'm so sorry, it is such a bummer to have even more time added to your wait. That sucks a lot. It takes so long to get anything done medically, especially with insurance involved. We're still fighting with our insurance about a procedure I had done in April and whether it was considered "for infertility" (and thus no covered)  
Make sure going into the procedure you know whats covered, and all the details are worked out. You have time, so maybe it will be a good way to use it?
Maybe you could find a class to take that is a semester long, like a community college art class or something. If it's not for credit, they are pretty reasonablly priced. That might help time go by faster. Last fall I took horseback riding lessons weekly, and it was a good distraction.

funkykey obviously we were posting at the same time and I totally missed your post till now.  UGH I'm really so annoyed for you!  I don't remember everyones complete story for you I do  I'm really annoyed and want to call your dr myself!!  I had a similar procedure done in 2014 it was one and one a polyp and a fibroid.  And I'm going to say I wasn't told that one was worse then the other for recovery etc. My OB was the one to do the procedure too so not sure why yours can't and he's a male.  I'm like @dragonette505 and in fact I haven't had a female dr in forever my RE was the first one go figure.  My concern is you need someone who is great and isn't going to screw anything up.  Who has done this a 1000x however this should be priority and I don't understand why its not.  Is your clinic involved in this at all.  Knowing that you are OOP I'm surprised they dont want to help this along.  I hate to say this is still a business for them.

Have you gone through the payment process on this?  Double check that you are covered and how much your deductible will be...granted going through IVF and paying OOP for things you should hopefully be taking care of.  Make sure you get it done this year so you don't have to pay more next year.  I'd try to get in with someone else just as back up.

As you can tell from my post i'm a bit aggravated for you!!!

BusinessWife Its kind of funny that you always have some type of party right around your procedure.   I know FET is super scary when its the first.  7 IUI 8 IVF cycles and finally FET time...I'm really hoping I can just say 1 and not become an expert at this one.
What I've learned after the stressing is once AF arrives they look at everything to make sure you're ready to go and thats when you'll start estrogen.  They usually up the dose as the days continue...you'll get a calendar from them.  Then you'll go in for another check to make sure your levels are ready for then next step which is what stressed me as my lining was on point but my E2 was not.  We changed it up for a couple of days and then my levels were good to go....which is when the progestrone party gets started!  Its when that starts that the true countdown begins.  It goes fast as tomorrow is my big day woohoo!!!  I'm lucky that PIO has only been every 3 days since i'm doing suppositories also so it hasn't been too bad...lets hope that my levels are good and it continues that way!
They (meaning the nurses) should tell you that the countdown starts once you start the progestrone and thats why i was so concerned and freaked out.  Hope that helped clear some things up for you!

GL tomorrow, and I hope you don't have to become an expert, either! ;)  just to be clear tho, it's not DHs birthday that's coming up now, I am just being ridiculous because an online EDD calculator estimates that if we had a November 3rd FET, the baby would be due on his birthday <i>next</i> year lol. Very important reason to try and schedule transfer, right? Lol

BusinessWife we all know dates are never set in stone and babies come when they feel like it  Even though I did talk to my sisters belly and asked her on numerous occasion to sit tight till I was done with a crazy project so I would then be able to have all my focus on her.  Shes a smart lil thing and waited till my last day and then made her appearance.  She wanted my undivided attention
