@kiwi2628 I typically have the same symptoms as a normal cycle. I do think I notice them more but they aren't any worse OR like my boobs they already hurt and just continue lol.
Diagnosis (If you've been): MFI (see siggy), and apparently low progesterone?
Cycle/CD: Cycle 13 / CD 25 / DPO 9
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Well, had my progesterone blood draw yesterday (8 DPO) and it came back at 7.4 ng/mL.
(((We'll go ahead and not talk about the fact that my seemingly incompetent lab/hospital ALSO ran all of my CD3 tests because ... well they're just idiots. Luckily my RE said that I won't have to pay for the CD3 tests twice.)))
Anywho, from the research I've done (by "research" I mean google) progesterone over 4 means that you O'd, but they prefer to see it at 10< at 7 DPO. But, my RE said that they'd like to see it closer to 20??? This seems a little absurb, but they want to put me on endometrin suppositories anyway. So, I should get those delivered to me today. Not sure how much good it will do me this cycle since I'm already 9 DPO, and generally don't have LPs longer than 10 days.
How are things going? Eh, fine I guess. A little confused by my RE's recommendations regarding progesterone.
Any questions? How would you guys handle the progesterone this cycle if you were me? At 9 DPO, and AF should arrive Thursday because my LPs are almost never longer than 10 days. Of course I haven't taken a HPT, but I sure as hell don't think I'm KU. Would you guys just start the endometrin today and stay on it until I get a BFN in a few days? Or just skip this cycle and use it next cycle? It's not cheap - about $12/day.
GTKY: What was the highlight of your weekend? Probably riding a couple horses on Saturday and then having a glorious lazy morning on Sunday.
@Redpuma119 - Since you just got diagnosed with PCOS, I'd recommend the book PCOS: The Hidden Epidemic. It has the most thorough, most scientific explanation of PCOS I've found. I really felt like I understood PCOS after reading it, and I go back to it a lot when I need to refresh my memory on certain aspects of it (or when someone like my mom or BFF asks me to explain again why insulin affects my ovaries). Basically all other books on PCOS I read were completely laughable in comparison.
@lund Yay for horses! I would probably test tomorrow morning and not use the endometrin unless there's a squinter. You could then start using it around 3dpo or whatever next cycle. I know how expensive that stuff is!
@shortstack930 GL today! Sending lots of positive vibes your way
@beanship I know it wasn't directed at my, but thanks for the book recommendation! I just checked and it's available at my library by work, so I will walk over and get it at lunch.
@Redpuma119 enjoy all the non-TTC sex!!! It's crazy how much better it is. And, I don't blame you for enjoying H being out of town... I'm the same way!
@adirat Girl I cannot imagine how glorious sex will be after abstaining for this long!!!!!!!!! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!
@antoto if I were you I'd have some sort of time ticker in the background of my phone
@leekat14 so glad you enjoyed some time on the water and drinking all the wine! FWIW I always have "more than I should" lol.
@mispanda I dare say I agree that 15 cycles is plenty before starting treatment! And, if I were you I would use opks just to make sure you don't miss O. Can't hurt and could possibly save you some frustration!
@kmalls ugh, sorry for the wretched random long cycle! That's always a total mind f*ck.
@vflux33 glad you were able to enjoy some time outside this weekend! FX this week's appointment(s) shed some light on your situation. Actual, eff that, FX you're KTFU!!!!
@purplg8r ugh, so sorry you're still dealing with the effects of the ectopic. That's a good question about the coding, and I'll be interested to see what the ladies have to say!
@magnolia131 thanks for the comedian recommendation! DH and I are always looking for good comedy specials. I'll be looking for your progesterone update!
@AlohaKumu so sorry you go here now, but SO EXCITED for your upcoming "stuff"!!! FX so hard everything progresses smoothly and they find a bazillion swimmers
@RVAmom315 FX for some post HSG luck!!! And, Target really is the best!
@Pinky917 so glad the medicated IUI is taking some of the pressure off of you!

@JuneRoseRuby Sending AALLLLL the good vibes for the SA results!!! I'll be feverishly checking for your updates! Your request to have it sent straight to the urologist is genius.
@TravelingCouple man you have a LOT going on! FX the timing of this cycle works our perfect and your little egg that could results in the most beautiful take home baby
@Hollyyyy (and FYI @BertieMeetsGertie ) check with your RE. Not all REs require you to abstain. It seems to be something they more often require in conservative states to prevent an HSG from being used as an abortion.
This is true, but also like wtf conservatives leave us alone we're already infertile stop with your ascientific nonsense.
Seriously! But, without getting too political, since when do those kind of people (and I don't mean conservatives, I mean the whole conservative bible thumping let-me-get-all-up-in-your-buisness-but-I-am-on-wife-number-4-because-Jesus-only-cares-about-your-sins-not-mine people) care about how science works anyway?
@haylsbayls this is what I think of when I think of your shiny new ute
@adirat@BertieMeetsGertie thanks for the recommendation - I think that makes perfects sense! Luckily having the pharmacy rush the delivery didn't cost any more than regular delivery!
@lund Does your insurance partner with a mail order pharmacy? Mine does and my crinone went from $40/mo at a local fertility pharmacy to $30/mo mail order.
@adirat not that I know of. However my RE partners with a mail order pharmacy. Per them it's cheaper than using local pharmacies, but I should probably do more research on that.
So I just signed up for Fertility Friend. It doesn't like me right now. I put my last period in for back in April, and it's telling me to please input a recent period so that I can start charting. Sorry, FF. I don't HAVE a more recent period.
Guess I'll have to wait for the Provera to do its thing before really being able to chart again. Not that I have anything to chart right now. I'm just feeling enthusiastic today about moving forward. Also, I'm about to have to update my signature because I forgot that I turned 31 this year until I had to input my birthday in FF. Whoopsies....
@shortstack930 Good luck today! @lund Yeesh, I'm glad they are not making you pay for those tests twice. I don't have specific advice about your meds, but hopefully you'll be able to find a less expensive option.

I'll still do a few OPKs to stay on top of it but I won't try to stress too much. Also good luck this morning! @lund I agree with @adirat about the endometrin.
@GG620 I triggered the night of CD 14 and still saw a squinter of the trigger today (CD 22), but it could have been an evap line, not sure (I'm only 6DPO so def nothing more exciting than that). @lund Sorry about the progesterone confusion. I can't offer any guidance there, but it sounds frustrating as hell. And WTF with the incompetent lab?? Don't you love putting your future into the hands of people who suck at their jobs? I know I do!
@beanship Wow what a FF fail! That sucks, I'm sorry.
Thank you, ladies!!! The IUI went great! The sperm count after wash was 5 million with 91% motility and they said I had two ovulatory follicles so fx! The nurse told me she's had seven women get pregnant through IUI this month and she's hoping I'm #8. I'm feeling a little bit crampy but otherwise good. My mom took me out for breakfast after so that was a nice treat.

@mispanda I always took Clomid and femara at night so that I slept through some of the side effects. Although I definitely experienced them during the day too. Mostly just headaches and hot flashes though. I'm sure you'll be fine either way!
@TravelingCouple GL with the inspection this week (and with today's appointment as well). I know juggling all of this can be a lot and hope you can do so with minimal stress.
@haylsbayls Love the gif...I hope your surgery left everything primed and ready for your take home baby!
@madspunk I haven't been given a reason for the fluctuation in numbers but they've been within normal range each time at least. I think they may have been higher the first medicated cycle because I had multiple follies. Last cycle was lower for me, but still okay....I was in the hospital last cycle for an infection so it may have just been wonky overall. But at the end of the day I really don't know for sure. Your weekend highlight sounds lovely...I hope you're finding some peaceful moments during your treatment break.
@shortstack930 I have everything crossed that today was a success for you! I'm glad it went smoothly
@lund Hmm...I thought I read somewhere that 10 was the threshold for medicated cycles. I mean I get that 7.4 is still below that but 20 seems like it'd be a tough mark to meet for many women. The supplementation won't hurt you but I think @adirat has a good suggestion if it's possible AF is that close.
Omg so much to catch up on already. I made it through some of page one. I'll hopefully be able to browse though later.
I did want to say @purplg8r that both my OB and now RE are coding all testing as diagnostic...so far everything should be covered. They both did it on their own too, I didn't have to ask them to be shady for me or anything.
Diagnosis (If you've been): MFI - "normal" but low count
Cycle/CD: ugh maybe cycle 14 now? CD 5
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?). Testing i thought I could do testing and IUI in the same cycle...but I guess for insurance reasons I can't bc they have to turn insurance off and on again and apparently if my insurance company sees that, they might go back and say the diagnostic testing wasn't diagnostic and make us pay. Soooo we're gonna give it one last shot this cycle I guess.
How are things going? Meh, I got the price of IUI per cycle and the news that I basically won't be doing the actual IUI this cycle so yesterday sucked. But whatevs. Gotta keep on keepin on
Any questions?
GTKY: What was the highlight of your weekend? Family time. I didn't worry about laundry or cleaning or cooking or food shopping (and I'm paying for it now) but it was glorious. We went away Saturday and Sunday and did an amusement park and ate shit food.
@50Wife No IF coverage here either. That sucks. So far everything has been diagnostic for me and for treating my PCOS but I'm about to have to start paying once we start medicated cycles. Ugh.
@50Wife Sorry you have to delay the first treatment cycle. That happened to me a bit and it was SO frustrating so I can relate. GL with the testing though!! I hope there is nothing else to discover, and it will be nice to get all that out of the way.
@shortstack930 so happy the IUI went so well for you!! sending every positive vibe I can muster. Same goes for you @GG620! This is my only second week here so bear with me while I get the hang of responding to everyone lol
Thanks for everyone who did the same for me yesterday.. unfortunately SA#2 also showed zero. So that sucks. But thanks to everyone's advice last week I preemptively booked a urologist appt for July 17. @AlohaKumu any advice on what to expect at this appointment? DH has had a couple sports injuries "down there" so operating under the assumption that this is obstructive azoospermia, but I know there is no way to tell until probably alot of tests and what not
@50Wife hey girl! Ugh, sorry for the rough day learning the IUI cost and also learning that you have to wait one more cycle. At this point "one more cycle" seems like the actual worst.
@magnolia131 I read that 10 is the threshold for unmedicated cycles, and 15 for medicated. Buuuuuut I think you can get different answers at almost every website or clinic *shrug* I've also heard from other ladies that 20 is pretty unattainable. But, since my LPs are borderline anyway I guess it can't hurt. My plan is to follow adirat's advice: test tomorrow and wait to use the meds until next cycle (unless I get a BFP ... LOLOLOLOLOLOL)
@50Wife what about for the actual appt with the RE coding-wise? (*TW*. At the beginning of the ectopic they thought it was a mc. But we also talked about some testing (I had AMH done & H had a SA). But the dr coded it as mc AND infertility and I was billed for $300 just for the appt (luckily she went back and took the infertility coding off). *end TW*. So wondering if each RE appt will be that much. I'm sorry you can't do the testing & IUI in one cycle. It's frustrating to know you have to wait even longer.
@beanship did your RE code it as diagnostic on his/her own or did you have to ask? And see my question above to @50Wife

So wondering if each RE appt will be that much. I'm sorry you can't do the testing & IUI in one cycle. It's frustrating to know you have to wait even longer.
@beanship did your RE code it as diagnostic on his/her own or did you have to ask? And see my question above to @50Wife
