S is gradually growing out of 9mos (depends on what she's wearing) but her 12 month clothes just seem so baggy! I cry a little each time I box up her small clothes.
Tuesday pity party for myself - got to work today and there's no running water on the entire street. You're never more thirsty or need to pee more than when you can't!
AJ fits into his 9-12 onesies, but not most shirts and his 9shorts fit, but are getting tight on his chin my little thighs. He will now high five on demand, which Dad is loving because they now high five before he leaves for work and when I put AJ to bed.
The cloning brands can be so inconsistent! We can still easily get away with some 6-9 items but then I'll randomly pull a 12 month out because that's what most of her summer stuff is, and it'll be right!! Makes. No sense to me!
So I'm super stoked..:my mom met a friend of her for lunch yesterday and brought Layla. That friend had kindly bought her a gift! Guess what she bought - puzzles!!! And a couple super cute dresses. I'm so excited about the puzzles!!
I totally understand the clothing issue! I have a list on my phone of clothing brands and their weight sizing. It's annoying because she will grow out of gap/old navy 12 month, but still be in carters 12 month for another 2 pounds! 2 pounds is a huuuge difference for us.
@LDSJM123 ... Definitely experiencing the nipple flicks lol. We are also stuck in 3-6m or 6-9 in clothes. 9m stuff is too big usually. I bought some on clearance last you're thinking she would be in them at this time but she's not.
It is blowing my mind trying to imagine my little being in clothes that small! We have been in 18 months for a few months now. She is outgrowing stuff faster than she can wear it...$$$
Have any of you transitioned to a blanket yet? Do they keep it on themselves?
Elise apparently cannot sleep unless she has sleeves... the sleep sacks are super tight now but she just cries and cries unless I put a long sleeved top on her.
DD1 wouldn't keep a blanket in until she was 3. We did sleep sacks until she was 1 1/2. Halo makes them in different sizes. DD2 currently wears a large sleep sack (12-18 months). Unfortunately it doesn't have sleeves though. We will introduce a blanket next fall.
@shaylalr we've used a blanket for a few months. He doesn't fall asleep with it on, but will keep it on after I put it over him when I check on him before I go to bed.
I also use the the long sleeved footie pajamas. I adore those. So cute and keeps him warm if he does throw the blanket off.
We also do either long sleeve footed pajamas or a two piece (long sleeves and pants) with socks. Just the last week I've started putting a blanket in with him as a little extra warmth with the air conditioning going and to hopefully get him associated something comforting with sleep since he just started daycare (I sent an identical one there for naps). It's just an Aden and Anais swaddle so it's really thin but pretty good sized.
Teething is the devil. We have been having the week from hell at bedtime. I've been trying to get C down for the night tonight for the last 2 1/2 hours. I want my happy, good little sleeper back. The last time I think I cried with him like this was 5 months ago when we were sleep training
M's been using a blanket since we transitioned her to starting the night in her crib back in January. Of all the cute blankets she has, she latched on to the one from our Christmas decor. I lay her on half of it and then pull the other half up over her face and she snuggles right in. She LOVES stuff on over her face when she sleeps. It used to freak me out but not anymore-- because I sleep the same way.
Beck is in 18 month clothes and Ruby is in 12 month, but rapidly approaching 18 month.
No blankets here, but they do sleep in Halo sleep sacks. I think we're in a size large (12-18 mo) now. They are total wiggle worms in their sleep so I doubt they would keep a blanket on at this point. They do each have a little security blanket guy (the Aden & Anais musy mate elephants) that they both sleep with up by their faces. I was so afraid to let them have anything in their cribs, but they sleep so much better with their "guys".
Yep we've used blankets basically since he was born. After he started breaking out of swaddles I would tuck a blanket around him in his R&P to keep him snug but still able to move his arms, then when he transitioned to the crib at 7 months I've always given him a blanket and he keeps it on most of the time. Usually I lay him on half of it and fold the other half over him loosely so he keeps it on even if he rolls around a little bit. It's the same kind of blanket as @LDSJM123

No blanket here, yet. I wouldn't be opposed. My husband gets freaked out about the idea though. I'm going to try and talk into starting with one of the muslin swaddles. We have about 12 and they're not getting any use anymore! It's generally pretty warm here in CA now, so can't imagine she'd be too into it anyway. We do use sleep sacks!!
Teethjng is seriously the devil. We have he too 4 and bottom 4 in, so I'm guessing the one year molars will be next for us. Not looking forward to those one bit!
I would love to start using blankets (especially the ones that my family members hand made), especially since the A/C is now on.
Our diaper bag has taken a beating and hasn't really held up, the fabric inside is ripped and my husband snapped one of the back pack straps . Does anyone have a diaper bag they like and has a back pack function?
Ugh yes teething is being mean over here too. Poor P has had a low fever the last two days and is totally miserable. He's currently taking his third nap of the day and it's not even 3pm.

We started blankets for nap time a few months ago. I haven't given her one at night yet. I always put her to bed in the long sleeve footed pajamas or two piece Long sleeve and pants with socks. She was using a sleep sack but she didn't much care for it. She's half and half with keeping the blanket on...sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't. Still no teeth...but definitely showing teething symptoms...miserable and biting, diaper rash, runny nose
Thank you guys for your advice! At bedtime she wears long sleeved pajamas, but naps she is in short sleeves during the summer. I'll try introducing a blanket and get some halo sleep sacks. We just may not have naps for a couple days while she adjusts...
@shaylalr I used to go on during naps and throw a blanket on her. She would usually leave it on for like the hour nap. You give it a try and see if it helps.
Anyone have experience taking baby to the beach? Tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated! I have long sleeve suits with built in SPF, sun hat, pop up sun shade, sun screen, life jacket, intertube floatie thing and a water bottle that she loves.
@LDSJM123 I have a little experience. I'm pretty sure you nailed it!!! I'm guessing water and snacks are part of your list too, lol the pop up shade is amazing!! We brought some of her toys and one of those weatherproof blankets to put down. Our babe was fascinated with the rocks, sticks, etc...and kept trying to eat them. At least when she was on the blanket those things were kind of out of site out of mind!!
@ldsjm123 • a large soft paint brush to brush off sand from limbs and toys (like wall paint brush, not artist paintbrush) • A change of clothes so she is comfy and dry for the ride home • Cold snacks like watermelon or peaches slices that were frozen • water shoes - most beaches have sharp shells or things • sand toys - cup/bucket • find a pretty shell during your trip and write on the inside with an ultra fine permanent marker "1st beach visit" and put it with her memories OR gather a few shells, some sand (in a sand which baggie) and pick your favorite picture of her from the trip and make a shadow box
Good call on the water shoes!! I put some old navy flip flops with backs on them. I was wishing I had something better, as they kept coming off. You're right about the beach being rough for their little feet. And sand gets hot.
Ok I did it. I gave her one of the muslin swaddles for her nap. She seems to like it! And of course the variety of lovies, haha! Now I just have to try and convince my husband it's safe and she might like a light blankie!!
PSA to anyone who lives near an Aldi, they have killer baby stuff right now. I got a really nice diaper bag (wanted a backup bag) for $15 and they have tons of nice (organic too!) baby snacks, meals (if you're doing a lot of puréed stuff still), gear, and toys out at the moment! They have fruit sauce pouches for $1.89/4pack. Which is crazmazing. Just wanted to share, I have a major store crush on Aldi now haha.

We have had a breakthrough! S just randomly dropped her MOTN bottle for 4 nights in a row now!!! She slept entirely through the night (9-7 in her crib) Saturday night! The other nights she still woke up but I just cuddled her for 5 mins and she was back out and in her crib. I think (hope) it will just be a short matter of time until she consistently sleeps through the night!
This has also HIGHLY eased my anxiety about the 1 year switch to sippys and whole milk! It is almost like she knew...
@kmurdock925...yay!! It must be time! AJ just completely dropped BOTH his MOTN feedings and has been sleeping from 8-7 for the past 6 nights!! He's also started going to bed with zero crying, just a bit of mild fussing like he's trying to get comfortable.
@ftm53 - woo!!! I think the 1st bday party will be a celebration for these milestones! hahaha. I swear I feel like I have seen such a developmental change in the past week. She legit feels like a toddler now...it sounds like you may be in a similar boat!
Man I hope P gets the memo about dropping motn feedings, I tried to wean him off a couple months ago and it went horribly so we're still up at least once but usually twice. I KNOW he can sleep ttn because he did for 4 months lol. Crib transition killed that beautiful trend...

@winnie1122 - a few weeks ago I tried to encourage the dropping of it myself but it just didn't feel right so I let it go and figured she would tell me when she was ready. Thursday night I went in to get her when she woke up, grabbed her diaper and had her bottle ready. I sat down in the rocker and instead of fussing to get to her bottle she just laid down into me and went back to sleep...so I rolled with it, no diaper change, no bottle. It has been that way ever since. Don't get me wrong- It has only been 4 days so I'm just waiting for the regression back to happen (please please don't jinx me)...but she told me when she was ready.

i have a fisher price blue backpack diaper bag. It's more functional than stylish but it's worked well for us.
Elijah is in 12 month clothes. I had 18 month on him the other day and they were a bit big yet.
How does a baby hog a queen mattress??!?!?! I try Ross' hug and roll technique but he rolls right back to me.
