@kris031409 DH and I don't do gifts for our anniversaries, we always go out for a nice dinner instead. That said, the first year gift is supposed to be paper according to the old school list of anniversary assignments.... could you do a gift certificate to somewhere he likes to go - a golf course, gun range, something like that? Or you could do something related to the good news you're going to get on Thursday....

Just checking in 24 hours after home from FET. Thanks to everyone that wished me well! on the mobile app it's hard for me to follow, so sorry for not tagging. Good luck to everyone transferring this week. I'm going to update the spreadsheet my Beta date is now May 19th. Yay!
We did get some not-so-great news yesterday. I knew something was wrong when the doctor brought me into a small conference room before I even got dressed for the procedure. Last week during my lining check I asked for a pap smear since I hadn't had one in two years. My previous ones were normal and was told that two years in between was recommended. I didn't want to have one once I was pregnant so I suggested we do this when she did my lining check. She obliged. And got the results at 11 a.m. on Monday morning after my embryo had already thawed. It was abnormal. Cue the tears. My husband and I were left to make a decision in about 10 minutes whether we should wait and refreeze this embryo, or go ahead with transfer and a recommended colposcopy if it was a viable pregnancy and I was graduated to the ob. I felt like it was an impossible decision and since I've been going with my brain and my science background this whole time, yesterday I decided to go with my gut and my heart. She completely understood and explained everything as best she could. But now this little fighter really will be a miracle. I could use lots of prayers and anyone with a good outcome of a abnormal pap smear during or before pregnancy thanks. We aren't telling anyone that about the transfer I let alone the decision that we had to make so I would appreciate no one telling me that I shouldn't have done this. Had we found out the results one day later we wouldn't have had a choice anyway and something just tells me this "number 17" is a little miracle worth waiting for.

@JESSABER0414 Ugh!! I'm so sorry- what terrible timing! I had an abnormal pap a few years ago- dr did colposcopy 2x and they both came back normal and my paps have been normal since. That's my only experience, but it all worked out ok. Is the RE sending you for the colposcopy now or waiting to see if it becomes a viable pregnancy?

@Hoping10 After it's viable and I'm released from her at 10 weeks. If I'm not pregnant she would have me take care of it ASAP and then transfer prep for August. Another reason we pushed forward, the damn lab is going down in July for updates.

Oh, @JESSABER0414 I am sorry for the news and the worry it has caused. I, too had an irregular pap years ago. I was brought back in they re-examined me and it came back clear. Have never had another abnormal since then. I will keep you in my thoughts. I hope that in 12 weeks, you have the procedure and they don't find a thing! xo

@JESSABER0414 I had an abnormal test and had a very long conversation with my gyno about pregnancy and colposcopies. It is a very easy procedure and while I know it's easier said than done, everything should be fine! My gyno is actually waiting before proceeding to see if I get pregnant because false positives happen.
AFM, had another u/s and bloodwork this AM. At 8 1/2 lining and RE said everything looks great! Still scheduled the 25th for transfer! No more u/s or bloodwork until transfer. Is that normal??
@JESSABER0414 congrats on being PUPO!! As for the colposcopy, **TW** I had one very early in my first pregnancy, I now have a perfect 8 year old. Absolutely no effect on the pregnancy. I know, it's hard not to worry. But your OB knows what he/she is doing, trust them

@Angelaag I had my monitoring u/s one day around CD 12 or whenever and since my lining was already over 8, they didn't have me do anymore labs or u/s which I thought was a little weird. In fact, they pushed my transfer date back by like 5 days but still didn't do another monitoring appt. before transfer. (And the transfer was a success according to the HPTs I keep peeing on.)

@JESSABER0414 - i'm so sorry for the horrible timing off the results, but i'm glad that you were able to do the transfer! So much stress/worrying that you don't need right now (or ever, really)! FX that things work out and that your little fighter is burrowing in for the long haul!!
@Angelaag - i had my monitoring appt this past friday after 10 days of estrace, and i know they measured my lining, and other than starting the pio, didn't have any other labs before my transfer tomorrow...
caseyw8784 YAY!! Today is your day!! So excited for you! Lines have very slowly been getting darker, I did get a positive on a clear blue digital on Monday, so that made DH happy. The line today looks the same as Monday, but tmi, my pee was more diluted than normal. I'm driving myself nuts! I have acupuncture tonight, hopefully that will calm me down until tomorrow.
fivetimesnoluck and @Hopeful_mom thanks for the ideas! I got a bunch of onesies and my wonderful mom has agreed to print and transfer whatever I come up with this morning and email to her. I also got a book by Jimmy Fallon, Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA.

@angelaag I have less monitoring appointments before the transfer, but the only difference is that they do have me come in the day before the transfer for monitoring. Everyone does things differently though.

@Angelaag I only get one monitoring appointment per FET and honestly it's only a lining check, no blood work. Their theory is that if the lining looks right, the labs are what they are supposed to be.
With an earlier beta appointment this time, I'm more anxious and might break down and POAS. it was my husbands only question to the RE after transfer on Monday.....so, when can we take a pee test?

@fivetimesnoluck - thanks for reposting the spreadsheet. how are you feeling for tomorrow's beta??
afm, got home a bit ago from the transfer. DH and i stopped off at one of our favorite greek restaurants for lunch on the way home. the transfer was...interesting...lol. the doctor had some trouble inserting the catheter into the cervix; he found a couple small nabothian cysts that were kind of blocking the entrance of the cervix...there was a lot of maneuvering and twisting BUT, they got it, and i'm happy to say that there are 2 embryos hopefully burrowing in for the long haul! Doc said that they both "great quality" and they're both already completely hatched!
caseyw8784 Congrats!! They're beautiful! I love the book you picked, I wish they had a police officer one! When do you plan to POAS??

ETA: I feel good about the beta. My HPTs have continued to turn and have gotten darker, so that is comforting. I finally stopped submitting images to the weirdo website and asking for other people's opinions, cause at this point, its definitely a BFP. For me, it's just a step in a progression of milestones, hopefully all of which will provide positive outcomes.
I have had several u/s appointments that were devastating, so if we get a great beta like I hope/expect, that will be my next hurdle. I will probably lose my mind if we are finally able to see a growing bean(s) in a few weeks.

so.......is it too early to start POASing on all the sticks?
but seriously, though...according to this chart/timeline (https://www.bubblesandbumps.com/what-happens-after-embryo-transfer-day-3-day-5-transfer-calendar/) it says that the blast will be hatching out of it's shell on 1-2 dpt...if mine were already fully hatched, does that move the timeline a couple days ahead? or does it stay the same? of course i forgot to ask all the questions i wanted to ask while at the transfer...haha
@caseyw8784 HAHAHAHA! That web page must get a thousand hits a day from all of us. I used the same chart to help pacify my want to POAS.... I actually ended up taking a screen shot so I could reference it easier.
@kris031409's blast was significantly hatched and she tested positive at 4dp5dt, which of course prompted me to test on 5dp5dt. (I was planning on being totally reasonable and waiting til 7dp....) Do whatever makes you feel good. If peeing on all the things doesn't cause you undue stress, then go for it!
And @kris031409, congrats on your beta! I am jealous; I won't lie. But tomorrow morning will be here soon enough. I planned dinner out with some friends tonight so that I don't sit at home and count the minutes. Will update y'all tomorrow.

@caseyw8784 - congrats on transferring your beautiful blasts! i'm hopeful that they are getting all snuggled in. i actually didn't know what a fully hatched blast looked like until you posted that pic. i don't think my little 4Alice (a 4AC) will be at all hatched on Friday unless something changes after thawing . . .
I'm sorry I've generally sucked about posting. I only manage to check when I get a breather at work and it's been terrible lately, which is sort of blessing b/c it's kept me busy. But I wish all I could do is Google "embryo success" rates blah blah.
Final lining check and bloods are tomorrow! Did anyone feel any progesterone symptoms before FET? Today is day 4 of the suppositories and pills and I have to say . . . I don't really feel anything, which makes me afraid that it's not working, of course! Fingers crossed everything is OK tomorrow and I can be reunited with my little girl on Friday!
Congrats to everyone with positive HPT! Good luck to those transferring this week and next!
@JESSABER0414 looks like lots of us have had good results post colcoscopy! Prayers yours comes back no worries! I had one a few years ago and things have come back normal since then! I am so sorry you had the stress on the day of transfer. I'm mad at your doctor BUT I get It! Hang in there mama!
AFM, lining check & bloodwork on the 12th! How soon after check did everyone have transfer? I was thinking my nurse told me 1 week later but my mind is pretty much on "E" these days!
@caseyw8784 congrats on being PUPO! That's amazing that both embryos were already fully hatched. I would imagine that bumps things up on that timeline (I actually found that page yesterday when I was pre-planning how soon I can POAS )
@kris031409 congrats on the positive Beta! It's so exciting to see positives on the board already.
@fivetimesnoluck good luck tomorrow, I hope all positive things keep coming your way.
@JESSABER0414 sorry you had bad news like that right before your transfer. I probably would have done the same thing. FX you get a sticky bean and everything comes back clear in a few weeks.

@fivetimesnoluck - woo-hoo!!!!! that's an amazing beta number! I have a good feeling that your little fighter(s) will just grow stronger and stronger! It's good that you guys are excited and hopeful, since so many say that a positive attitude is an be a big factor! FX for rising numbers on Saturday and Monday!
bethann1022 is the next one up...how are you feeling for tomorrow? Hope you had a great trip!
@fivetimesnoluck yay!! Such fantastic news, I'm so happy for you!
@caseyw8784 How are you feeling? Are you doing 2ml PIO? I started my 1ml PIO last night and my butt cheek is SORE today. I can't imagine 2mls!
@krenee124 I had my last lining check on Tuesday. It's already 8mm so they won't check it again. Last bloodwork is Saturday, transfer on Monday! Eek!
@whitebarley I think it's great you're not having any SE of progesterone! I just started oral prometrium, vaginal crinone, and PIO last night so I'm not feeling anything yet, but for previous IUIs I was definitely feeling pretty tired and my boobs were sore (presumably from the progesterone since they were all BFNs).
"Expectation is the mother of all frustration" -Antonio Banderas
@hbomb513 - I'm good! Had a good night sleep after the transfer yesterday. Have had some very minor cramps last night and today (so minor that it's almost just more like i'm "aware" of my uterus) and a bit of lower back cramping. Since I'm almost at a week with PIO, I wonder if the side effects are just showing up...lol. Still doing 2ml each night, which sucks, but they're manageable. How are you doing, your transfer is so close! Must be getting so excited!
On a non-IVF related note, I just found out that my favorite new show got canceled, so I'm kind of bummed about that...lol!
@caseyw8784- Beautiful blasts! As we go to the same clinic, it is amazing to me how blasts can develop so differently in the same lab. I have now had four 5 day embryos transferred and each time they are still expanding and not even partially hatching yet. I did ask my RE about this and she said they will use Assisted Hatching if needed, but mine haven't needed it (as I guess expanding is a good first step) and yours CERTAINLY don't!
@JESSABER0414- Congrats on your transfer as well! How are you doing with the TWW? What a difficult decision you had to make and during what is supposed to be such an exciting, happy day for you! I think you made the right decision going with your heart and gut though as it's so important during this process to trust your intuition, not just the facts and your brain.
In regard to early testing, my first cycle I was sooo excited to have my first real chance of being pregnant that I could not wait and started testing at 2dp5dt. I literally tested a minimum of 15 times in 8 days and while each BFN was depressing, I was so positive that it was going to work that I remained hopeful for the next. I was also googling BFN days (i.e 2dp5dt BFN etc), every day up until 9dp5dt when most of the results were pretty consistent that if negative at 9days post transfer, then most likely a negative result was accurate. I thought after this cycle I would continue to do this the next cycle, as I thought I had felt better knowing along the way, however second time around something really changed. I promised my husband (as he did not want me testing at all either), that I would wait until 6 or 7 days to test, however, at 4dp5dt could not hold out. I tested on day 4 and after BFN again on day 6 (another BFN) and did not tell him either time. On day 8 I got another BFN and realized that it most likely also did not work. However, at the end of the cycle, I felt much better that I had only tested three times and at least tried to keep the hope for as long as possible.
And this time has been REALLY different. Both of my first two cycles, I felt pretty disappointed and down early into after the first tests were negative. I would tell myself "It's just too early" but had a feeling in my gut that it had not worked. Now, I honestly do not know the results of this cycle, but I definitely feel different. I have used Circle and Bloom's FET meditation which has really helped me relax and calm down. I also refused to allow myself to test before my vacation (we were leaving on 3dp5dt in the evening), which was somewhat difficult with about a variety of around fifteen tests available in my bathroom cabinet waiting to be used. Prior to going away, I debated for weeks with myself whether to test while away or wait until beta day this cycle. We would be gone from 4 days through 8 days post transfer and today (day 9) I had an all day work meeting and knew I would not test this morning as I would not be able to actively participate or focus at work with either result. I decided there were only two options. My husband's birthday was 5dp5dt so I would not test before or on that day. I would test either on day 6/7 (as if the result was BFN I could at least tell myself it is too early and try to hold onto hope), or I would wait until beta day (tomorrow).
I was not going to take any tests with me, but at the last minute threw them in the bag, where I thought was hidden, but of course less than an hour after we arrive at the hotel, DH asks me why I packed them. I made it to day 6 as I promised myself, and it was not too hard with being away and busy, but I also felt really different this time starting 2 days after. I was dizzy, lightheaded throughout the day, started urinating frequently and starting cramping on day 3, however it did not feel like AF cramps as it has in the past. On day 6, DH got up early and went to Dunkin Donuts to get coffee so I thought "Perfect I can test without him knowing." I was so sure I would get a BFP and actually got excited to tell him as I waited for the results to appear, however BFN. After a quick cry and about an hour of depression, I made the internal decision to try to hold onto hope for the remainder of the TWW, only four more days from that point, but they are lasting forever. Of course, with my google obsession, it has been difficult not to constantly search for stories of hope where someone got a BFN on 6dp5dt, but went on to still get a positive. I can literally go from being hopeful and optimistic that this worked to negative and planning next steps if it didn't in what feels like an instant. After my meeting today, I strongly considered testing when I came home and am debating doing so before I go for my beta tomorrow. However, I also know, that going for my last two betas with very little hope made it feel like it was pointless and that much more difficult. I am going to wait until after the test, but not sure if I will feel better hearing the results from the nurse when she calls or finding out the results on a test when I get back home.
Sorry about the LONG rambling post, but as you can see, while it was nice to go away, it is still extremely difficult during the TWW to focus on anything but fertility. All that aside, we had a REALLY nice vacation and while this post may make it sound like I was also on my phone googling and my mind was focused on the possible results of the transfer, I honestly did not let it consume me. We had a nice relaxing trip, spent a lot of quality time together, and while I know I will be upset tomorrow if the results are BFN, I also know that we will continue to move forward and I am really lucky to have such an amazing partner to walk this crazy journey alongside me!

@caseyw8784 GL tomorrow!!!

@Angelaag - i had my monitoring appt this past friday after 10 days of estrace, and i know they measured my lining, and other than starting the pio, didn't have any other labs before my transfer tomorrow...
@fivetimesnoluck @kris031409 - i hope the lines continue to darken??
fivetimesnoluck and @Hopeful_mom thanks for the ideas!

@kris031409 I'm happy your lines are getting darker/staying dark- the time before beta was the absolute worst for me with anxiety. Hang in there and enjoy the acupuncture!

@Angelaag I only get one monitoring appointment per FET and honestly it's only a lining check, no blood work. Their theory is that if the lining looks right, the labs are what they are supposed to be.
With an earlier beta appointment this time, I'm more anxious and might break down and POAS. it was my husbands only question to the RE after transfer on Monday.....so, when can we take a pee test?

afm, got home a bit ago from the transfer. DH and i stopped off at one of our favorite greek restaurants for lunch on the way home. the transfer was...interesting...lol. the doctor had some trouble inserting the catheter into the cervix; he found a couple small nabothian cysts that were kind of blocking the entrance of the cervix...there was a lot of maneuvering and twisting

I will probably lose my mind if we are finally able to see a growing bean(s) in a few weeks.

but seriously, though...according to this chart/timeline (https://www.bubblesandbumps.com/what-happens-after-embryo-transfer-day-3-day-5-transfer-calendar/) it says that the blast will be hatching out of it's shell on 1-2 dpt...if mine were already fully hatched, does that move the timeline a couple days ahead? or does it stay the same? of course i forgot to ask all the questions i wanted to ask while at the transfer...haha

@fivetimesnoluck and @kris031409 - yay for you guys! argh, i'm so happy! it's so good to see success.

AFM, lining check & bloodwork on the 12th! How soon after check did everyone have transfer? I was thinking my nurse told me 1 week later but my mind is pretty much on "E" these days!

On a non-IVF related note, I just found out that my favorite new show got canceled, so I'm kind of bummed about that...lol!
I am back from my mini-vacation and so many updates to catch up on! This is going to be a long post as it's been so long since I updated.
@fivetimesnoluck and @kris031409- Congrats on the positive first betas, so excited for you both
@caseyw8784- Beautiful blasts!
