  • @JESSABER0414 - must be excited to be so close to your lining check! mine isn't until Friday, and I have half a mind to call in the morning and see if i can go in sooner...though the rational side of me knows, that's not how it works...haha  If all goes well, I'll start the PIO and the transfer will be on the 10th. We've told a few close friends, and a couple family members, but 99% of them live in other states and know that it's a secret.

DH and I are going to Los Angeles June 1-6 for a family wedding, and I have some college friends living there who want to take us to disneyland and universal studios. I've already looked up which rides are safe and which are not recommended, and it'll be interesting if we get a positive beta and how we decide to explain my sudden lack of interest in roller coasters and stuff...
  • @kris031409 - awwwww she looks perfect!  congrats on ur lil princess sending you super sticky vibes!!  Welcome to being PUPO!!!
caseyw8784 LMAO!!  you're going to have the I ate something not agreeing with my tummy that day!  I wouldn't chance going on things that are going to be bouncing you all over the place, I would be too nervous. @kris031409 Congrats, that's a beautiful embaby! Sending you extra sticky vibes! I really hope I get some pictures too...oh yea, and I'm already looking forward to that valium they prescribe on transfer day lol...

@caseyw8784 I wouldn't be able to hold out, I would tell all the people. Can you at least still eat that delicious pineapple stuff? Also, I don't get to see my DH very often either (which I'm sure has been part of our problem), so I totally sympathize!

@Hoping10 Cheers to your next step! FX for a smooth procedure, try not to stress!

AFM, I had my second lining check and blood work today. My lining is already 6-7mm. They want it at least 7mm by transfer day (5/15), so that shouldn't be a problem! And the pimples on my nose are telling me my estrogen level is increasing just fine :/

My box of PIO arrived last night! I must admit, after getting the box(es) for the stim cycle, this one seemed so small...all the syringes and needles and stuff, but I almost missed the 2 small boxes with the vials that were tucked in the sharps container!

Just under 48 hours until my monitoring appointment, and you can so tell that i'm NOT trying to count the hours...

@Hopeful_mom - when do you expect to get the PGS results back? FX for a good report!

  • I just posted a really long introduction (sorry about that), but was hoping to join in on this discussion.  After our second round of IVF with retrieval in April resulted in three frozen embryos, we decided to move forward with a FET and transferred two embryos yesterday.  Transfer went smoothly, but of course I am already anxious and nervous only one day into the TWW.  This is our third transfer, our first IVF cycle in December resulted in two fair quality embryos and we went through two single transfers in January and February, both resulting in BFNs.  As my husband's birthday is this coming Sunday, we will be going away for five days to celebrate so hopefully that will keep my mind off everything going on inside my body and prevent me from POAS until beta day.

I am excited to get to know everyone this month and hopefully this thread will be full of BFPs!!
  • Bethybear1756 welcome!  We are just a day apart, I had my FET on May 1, beta on May 11th.  Hoping you have a sticky bean this month!  Good luck on the TWW, I'm not handling it very well, I have zero concentration left for anything except trying not to POAS!

  • kris031409 Bethybear1756 really exciting to already have ladies in TWW so exciting you are PUPO!!!  Have fun on your trip hopefully that will be a fun relaxing distraction!!

    Question for all...
AFM: My RE believes since I responded well last cycle she still thinks I should go with a regular IVF cycle or prep for an FET.  I'm leaning towards another cycle, I wouldn't want to prep for an FET and then take a chance I have nothing to transfer.  This whole process is such a struggle.  I really wanted to have a few normies to work with before moving on to the next process.  Its because of my age that it frieghtens me.

Hi Ladies!  Since some of you are now PUPO (yay!!!) I went back and added a "Beta Date" column to the spreadsheet... here's the link again:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xBCP8pprreQVAofIQ8s5yVgM0pthBcGgpgbLPcQsFDw/edit#gid=0

@Hopeful_mom - that's a tough one. I can see the benefits of both, but like you said, you don't want to risk having nothing to transfer. When are the PGS results due back? Will the timing work out that you might know the results before having to start the meds for either the cycle/FET, so you still have time to decide once you know how many you have?

AFM, I'm in rare(ish) form today. DH is laughing and jokes that I'm "pre-FET nesting"...yesterday I asked (made) him to help me completely clean our kitchen and living/dining areas, and this morning as soon as i woke up i decided to tackle our office (doesn't everyone who has an extra bedroom/den/etc turn one into a completely messy storage room? We could barely walk into it very far cause of stuff we just toss in there...it's like Mary Poppin's bag - there's always room for something else! )
Well, I've gotten through about 90% of it, and I have a pile of army/fire/work stuff for DH to go through when he gets home from the station tomorrow morning, a huge pile of things to toss/donate, and a small-ish (Yay!) pile of things to keep and/or put in the basement. Still have 3-4 big moving boxes that never got fully unpacked when we moved in, but that should take an hour or two at most. This room is right off of the kitchen/living area (perfect place for an eventual playroom (fingers crossed!), and i used to use it as my office when i sometimes work from home, so it's nice that it's cleaned out and able to be used again...lol
  • Congrats on our first transfers! How exciting!
I got the all clear today for my transfer of 1 embryo on May 8!! I got a better explanation and grading of my remaining embabies.  Out of the 11 in the freezer, 4 are grade AA 5 day blastocyst plus the 1 I already transferred in Jan. We looked through the chart and all of them were done with ICSI. Only 2 of 4 non ICSI were frozen and their grades were less optimal.  So, we have to choose 1 based on our number preference. I know we are blessed and lucky to have this choice .  My lining was 7.5 and trilaminar. Start POP and Endometrin tonight, doxycycline tomorrow.

  • Hopeful_mom if you won't have the PGS results before you have to start the next cycle, if it were me I'd do another IVF cycle.  I could't stand risking wasting a cycle if there was nothing to transfer.  That's just me though.  If I hadn't gotten my PGS results back before CD1, they would have put me on BCP until we knew if I had any to transfer.  Is that an option?

  • @hopefulmom that's a tough call! Like previous posters have said, if it were me, I might do another IVF round to avoid the risk of having nothing to transfer. That way, you can always bank those embryos for future use. As kris031409 said, is it too late to start BCPs as you wait for PGS results?
@Bethybear1756 welcome and have fun on your trip! I think that's awesome you have something to keep your mind off POAS because I'm sure that's all I will think about after my transfer :)

@caseyw8784 we also have a 'junk room' right off the dining room. I hate looking in it while we're eating (it doesn't have a door) and really need to get into Spring cleaning and clean it out! That sounds so nice to clear all that stuff out.

@Bethybear1756 - welcome and congrats on being pupo! A trip is definitely a good way to distract you and keep your mind off the TWW! And happy birthday to your DH...going anywhere fun for your trip?

@JESSABER0414 - that's a good lining! I heard that when it's trilaminar that's sometimes more important than the thickness? Or am I mistaken? But yay for confirming the transfer date! :)

AFM, feeling very accomplished with the spring cleaning I did today (I'm by no means a slob, but it's few and far in between that I get motivated to spend the entire day cleaning, without getting sidetracked!) With the weather finally being so nice, I took a walk across the street to the beach, and got a small ice cream sundae and watched the sunset. Was very relaxing! Also, a friend invited DH and I to the Red Sox - Orioles (Go Sox!) game tomorrow night, that will keep me busy since my lining check appointment is first thing Friday!

    Happy Hump Day!

  • Ladies I truly took all of your words to heart so thanks to all for the advice!!  I went back and forth on it a lot.  Thought of all the different senerios I could.

I went in for BW going with the thought that I would just do another cycle and bank.  I want to be optimistic and think I'm getting all 6 normies back but the realist had a feeling that wouldn't be the case.  I did get the go ahead for stemming AND got my PGS results back too.  Timing was pretty spot on.  I can finally say I got a normie back yay!!  2 of the 6 made it.  I cried for relief I have a normie but for sadness too that I know its not enough and I have to continue to try and bank embryos.  Its such a hard decision but I knew deep down I was going to need to cycle so lets hope I can squeeze a few good ones out this time.  We know I"m all about the grading and its really true what they say, looks can be deceiving!  I had 3/5AAs and I truly felt I would get at least 3 normies back.   1/5AA made it and the other was a 5BA.  That lil normie beat out the 2/5AA and the 5AB, what a trooper.  However the 5AA is considered "the best" and thats the one they would transfer first when its time as of now.  The thawing process scares the hell out of me why I need to hopefully get a few more in before transfer too.  I should feel a sigh of relief that I will hopefully get to a transfer but I"m still a ball of nerves UGH!!!!  s  I truly have been a mess these last 2 days with such swollen eyes, poor OH I know is scared what another cycle of hormones will do to me!  I hope you ladies dont mind but I"m still going to stick around even though I"m not technically doing my FET, I feel we've all been together too long ;)

@fivetimesnoluck wow!!  it is truly your time to shine, i'm so happy for you, what lovely looking embabies you've got there!!  sending you toms of sticky vibes!!

@Cinnamonn best of luck!  maybe i'll catch you in june...I just dont know myself anymore.

brooklyngirl18 My update pretty much answered ur questions ;)  but what is interesting is how different clinics are with FET.  Technically my RE said I would take estrace orally on cycle day 2 and then progestrone down the road and thats it...I think its because of my low amh i dont to the bcp as i'm pretty surpressed already could be the case for me!

caseyw8784 you really are going for it!  I've been dealing with my lost/stolen phone all day, i'm all cried out already I can't.  $700 for a new phone I just can't.  I have IF shouldn't it be free, haven't i paid enough  :D:p

  • krenee124 my clinic will not touch anyone doing ivf for like 3/6 months after you come back!  I would check with your clinic too!

  • @Hopeful_mom I went to Orlando in March and the nurses were freaking out! Dr said be smart and wear long sleeves/spray. Which we did but I'm talking anywhere ... idk any cool places not at a beach! I'm aware i shouldn't be on a beach right now!
  • @caseyw8784 yay!! Congrats! This is wonderful news! Happy Friday to YOU!
  • How exciting, @caseyw8784!! Congrats on the plan!

@krenee124 I love going to the beach and live on the coast in the southeast. The only recorded cases of local transmission of Zika in the US have been in Florida (Miami) and the southeastern tip of Texas (Brownsville). There are plenty of places you can travel to the beach and not have too much of a threat from being infected - there are great beaches in Georgia, North & South Carolina, and Virginia. Obviously, there is also plenty of shoreline on the west coast that is not under any real threat from localized cases either. I don't know where home is for you, but I would just keep in mind the threat is real, but still contained to those two locales as far as the CDC is concerned.

    More info here: https://www.cdc.gov/zika/geo/index.html

Keep in mind that the maps showing number of cases are primarily populated with cases that people brought back from foreign travel.

    Good luck planning a vacation!

  • Congrats to the ladies who transferred, already! Your embies are all beautiful! Gosh, I can't wait to see a pic of ours.

@caseyw8784 - we are so close together. I just found out today that my transfer will be Friday! I start meds and stuff Sunday.

@brooklyngirl18 - I loled at you waiting on AF and spotting. I never spotted my entire life until I started TTC, and then each time it was like, "Oh, IB?!?!" but it never was, clearly, since here I am.

@hopefulmom - congrats on your normies! it is a huge relief, even if you want to go forward with banking.

So, I'm ready to be reunited with my little 4Alice (what I've named our 4AC girl, who, will be transferred on Friday - get it? I know, I'm hilarious . . .). I'm wondering if progesterone symptoms usually kick in before transfer, so at least I know what I'm dealing with?

    Happy Cinco de Mayo, all!
