@bluejeanbabi05 not to mention all the pre-existing condition BS. My understanding is that they'll still be covered, but those individuals can be charged more than "healthy" people. Keep in mind that things like c-sections and medical treatment following a rape or domestic abuse can be considered pre-existing conditions.
October 2017 June Siggy Challenge -- "You Had One Job!"
@bluejeanbabi05@beezeemarie thank you for bringing this up. I've been stewing about it all day. I'm absolutely disgusted. Let's just slash everything for women's needs (including the addition of c-section and rape and PPD as pre-existing conditions, among other things) and continue to spend millions on viagra coverage for men. I. Don't. Get. It.
Guys, I have researched but I can't figure out what the effects are as of right now. Anyone care to summarize the effects of the ACA repeal? I'm having a tough time breaking it down. Or, if anyone has a link to a good article about it, that will help!
This whole bill is ridiculous. It's basically a pre-existing condition to be a woman!
So if it passes through the senate as well, do the changes go into effect this year or do we keep our current insurance until 2018? Just wondering if I need to start saving for the estimated $17,000 increase in premiums for pregnant women...
@jessirh I'm pretty sure nothing will go into effect until at least 2018.
One reason to be grateful this is probably my last pregnancy.

Okay I need some advice. My DH got a kitten from his sister that we had full intentions of it being a barn cat, completely outside fend for itself type thing but still feed it. IT WONT SHUT UP. It has constantly been meowing non stop since Sunday. And we can't have it in the house because he's allergic to cats. (The irony right) it's literally about to make me crazy. I have to keep my puppy put up because the cat is so small and the cat is making me INSANE! Any help as to what might help?
Ugh it makes me so sick to read this. It's like trump has challenged himself to dismantle every part of the government and just leave it in shambles. And who in their right mind is still supporting him?! Seriously who? People voted in our poll a couple months ago. Why do feel his choices are a solution to our problems? Why are you still standing behind him? What good has he done?
Ugh guys. I think I just found some kind of spider/death bug nest in one of my outside planters. I was just digging around in this planter less than a week ago and I know it wasn't there so I really don't think it's a fungus. WTFFFF I've already asked one friend what to do and she told me to light it on fire.. thoughts?
DH and I went to the new froyo place down the street. That was my dinner for tonight. Hubs went healthy with his (fruit and whatnot). Me on the other hand...
June 2017 Siggy Challenge: "You had one job to do!"
So on Wednesday since I was taking the hose out to clean my dogs' crates, I decided to hose off the outside table and chairs that were covered in pollen. As I was rolling the hose back in its box thing, I noticed a black spider sitting inside said box thing that looked A LOT like a black widow. I couldn't tell for sure since it was standing at a weird angle, thus I couldn't see the red hourglass shaped spot. But it had the right body shape. I think I stared death in the face you guys. IN THE FACE.
Also, a whole department got let go at work yesterday so that's fun.

ZOMG
my parents JUST walked in the door from taking the red eye. and BIL
immediately pops in the office to shoot the shit. learn social cues you
moron. no one wants to talk after being up all night.
I'm a grump today. DH hasn't been home before 7:30 pm all week. I'm just so done mom-ing right now. Our party is tomorrow and getting everything together, plus cleaning the house has been entirely on me. I'm just plain worn out. Thank goodness my mom doesn't work today and is coming over to help straighten things up and start cooking.
+1 @sdarling2010 i know H can't control it. but i am tired of giving baths and trying to feed myself and toddlers. it is really hard to figure out a meal under those conditions.
@carries2018 our meals this week have been less than ideal. IDGAF. I get a free pass every once in awhile.
My parents just offered to take DD overnight!! Grandparents coming in clutch, woo!!! It's bout to get crazy up in here, what with all my virgin beverages. Maybe I'll have a listeria sandwich for dinner ... hmm.
@sdarling2010 I will join you in the grumpy club. DH went on a guys trip to a Nascar race this weekend. I'm talking Mardi Gras level of partying all weekend. (major eye roll) So it was just me and DD home last night which naturally made me a light sleeper. Then my stupid dog decides to bark all night long at the boogie man outside of our bedroom door. So I was up over half the night trying to get her to shut up before DD woke up.
Grumpy club here too. Something about Fridays in a high school in May make me want to jump out the window. We have our Student Council Applications due today for next year, so today is the day of many many excuses. I just can't.
I successfully gave my capstone presentation (a big deal in the program I'm in) this morning, and now have ZERO motivation to get anything else done. Does giving a big presentation give me permission to be lazy the rest of the day??
Since I'm working from home this week, I've been letting our dogs out to play pretty frequently to enjoy the nice weather. One will always come back before the other and they can let themselves into our back porch - the slam of the screen door lets me know one is back.
The one that comes back early always paces at the door until the other one finally comes back in. And then they nuzzle and love on each other like they haven't seen each other in a hundred years.
Girls. Seriously. You can see each other the entire time. Too sweet but man I'm dreading the day that one of them passes away and leaves the other behind

@natleilynn that's so sweet. My dogs drive me nuts but whenever I think about them not being here I'm an instant mess.
so I just found a sippy cup of milk in the bathroom. It's not from today. Maybe from yesterday? I'll spare you the detail other than I had to "shake" out the contents.
Ugh. I'm taking a program to upgrade my teaching certification through a local university. I'm trying to write my first university paper in over a decade and I'm struggling! I used to be a pro at this and now I'm using the word research six times in one sentence!
Re: Weekly Randoms 5/1
But hey, men who can stay healthy are in good shape!
eta: this includes workplace insurance plans as well. Pre-ACA, 60% of workplace plans had lifetime maxes.

I've been reading about it for a couple weeks so I'd have to dig for more articles but this is a good place to start.
