My French bulldog is currently driving me nuts. We have a possum that has chosen to make our backyard its home the last few days. Questionable decision, given the postage stamp size of our yard and the dogs, but it's cool, he's cute. Except the tail, but no one's perfect.
Anyway, we have named the possum Jesus (we pronounce it the Spanish way with a soft j to make this less offensive) because whenever we let our frenchie at him, he plays dead (HE PLAYS POSSUM!!!!) and our dog just sniffs him and then comes back inside all disappointed. Until he then sees Jesus spring to life and run away. It's a hilarious cycle that our frenchie doesn't understand. He is fascinated by the zombie-ness of the possum and paces back and forth in our house all day looking out the windows for Jesus and crying.
It's mostly entertaining, but the crying is getting a little on my nerves.
That is quite humorous @bluejeanbabi05 but I can totally see the annoyance in the dog crying. Ugh.
I am so excited to be home alone today. Everyone is back to work and school and I don't work Monday nights at the studio. I am caught up on sessions and my next one isn't until the end of the month. I am taking full advantage to do whatever I want. I had all intentions to do nothing and relax. But I have a spring in my step this morning and am deep cleaning the girls' room and what will be the nursery. I mean like scrubbing walls deep cleaning. It's wayyyy too early to nest, but this energy can stay.
We have our last regional competition this coming weekend in VA and I am dreading it. DD1 never competes on a Friday. Her age group has always been Saturday's and Sundays. Well, this comp is so big her duet is on Friday. At 5:00. 1.5 hours (without traffic , but more like 3 hours heading that way) away, so DH took off work, the girls can't go to school , and while she performs at 5:00, those awards aren't until 10:15pm!
I need to shower and get some work done before my eye Dr appointment. I'm finally going in to get contacts and I'm not looking forward to getting the hang of putting them in (I'm easily flustered) but looking forward to being able to see clearly for the first time in years
So I accidentally brought FOUR SETS OF CAR KEYS to work today. Happy Monday!
Let me try to explain, like I tried to do to DH, but hes not letting it go. (this story is probably going to be very confusing)
We just bought a new Jeep this weekend, we wanted something safe for the baby and something easy for the car seat.. we're first time parents.
So I have been using our Camry that my parents had loaned us until we got our new car and DH was using our Corolla, which I used to drive to work. So, in the meantime, instead of just putting my work fob (to get into the building) on to my new set of keys (Camry) I just decided I would bring both keys sets of keys to work (which was dumb and lazy)... but I knew we were getting a new car soon so I didn't want to have to switch all the keys again.
DH said I could drive the Jeep to work so this morning, thinking I as being super smart and efficient, I brought my new Jeep keys, which I drove today, my set of keys that had my work fob, and my other set of keys that had my house keys on them... now that I writing this, this sounds so ridiculous lol.. but I figured I would just consolidate all the keys on one set today.. during work.
I even called DH when I was walking out of the house, he has Mondays off, and hes like yeah sure that's fine.
The thing we both forgot was... I had the spare set of Corolla keys in my purse!!! DH asked me to put them in there when we were going to the store, but driving the Jeep.. he had to get his sunglasses out.
So in the end I blame him just kidding.
Thanks to me writing this story however, I just remembered I have spare sets of the Camry and Corolla another purse that are at home! So DH isn't stuck inside all day.
Good morning! DH just left for a work trip until Thursday so I've got the house to myself. With the stress I've been dealing with at work lately, I'm not looking forward to not having his distraction ):
I've got a showdown on Thursday with my divisional that I'm really not looking forward to. They left it up to me to quit or be put on a PIP, so we're going over the PIP details then. I think they're trying to get me to quit so they're not on the hook for firing a pg lady but I might just be bitter at this point.
Any whoooo the kid has been swimming up a storm and it's neat to feel movement. Can't wait for the A/S next week!
Got out a pair of skinny jeans from my past pregnancy and friends.....bad idea! I was so much skinnier back then. These are squeezing the life out of everything from my boobs down. I'm 45 minutes from home and an hour from any store that would carry maternity clothing. So I'm here at work, it's 8:55 and I'm counting down the unbearable minutes until I can go home.
I just might take my lap top to the bathroom and sit in there with my pants off all day.
DD2's birthday party is Sunday. It starts at 3pm, and a petting zoo is coming at 4pm for an hour. when should i have the pizzas deliver? 3pm or 4:30pm? should i see about bumping the zoo out/in a little more?
@bluejeanbabi05 hilarious (the crying part not so much lol i can imagine)
@PizzaMonster3 when is your a/s? Mine is next week thursday, sssso excited /anxious!
@jessafishy have we decided to post about a/s in the ultrasound thread or do we start one for a/s? @carries2018 id say 4.30 but then again, i have no kids, hence no xperience in kids bday parties
I heart theSkimm I heart YNAB --------- “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore
@bluejeanbabi05 I can sympathize at how annoying that is! Our neighbor (we live in a townhouse) has a cat that perches herself on their deck and taunts my dog. He can see her from the back door and goes bananas every time he sees her. I had to take him out in the front yard yesterday afternoon because he was too worked up to actually do his business.
My funny story of today: I think I felt the baby move this morning! I was teaching my first block class and in a middle of a sentence stopped and said "Oh my gosh, the baby!" And then one kid goes..."Is it coming? SHOULD I CALL 911??? I have not laughed that hard in a long long time. He was so concerned and it was so sweet, but it was SO FUNNY.
@carries2018 I would say 4:30 too. We just had DD's birthday on Saturday. People show up late, and they don't eat right away anyway. As long as you have snacks to munch on, they will be fine until after the petting zoo.
These stories are so refreshing. I'm becoming a big grouch these days and everything is getting under my skin. I think it's all in my head and how I am taking things. I'm going to try to keep it light, keep things positive.
My weekend was super awesome (IMO, the town hermit here) DH and I saw "Why Him" which was funny up until the end. I thought it ended too suddenly and without really involving the plot much. We also drove around the town on Sunday looking for maternity clothes for me. I have some already but it's not work appropriate. I also needed to buy some flats.
None of this got done
Otherwise, I am now here enjoying the randoms!
@bluejeanbabi05 this is really funny to me. Your dog is losing it with this sorcery! My coworkers dog will do this with a squirrel. Except the squirrel will just taunt the dog from it's tree. It's a never ending game.
@JessDG That's actually very funny, and very sweet! I can picture that though. At least they care, right?
This weather needs to clear up because DS is being a huge crab-ass being cooped up inside.

@carries2018 a petting zoo? I can officially say your DD's birthday party is better than any party I've ever had.
@bluejeanbabi05 sorry but that's hilarious. I've also never seen a possum that wasn't roadkill so that's kind of exciting in a weird sort of way.
ugh we have a mystery cat too that taunts our dog from the backyard. I don't know who (if anyone) he belongs too. I also catch him drinking out of our pool so he must like the taste of chlorine. One night a couple weeks back I was up super late by myself and I thought I heard someone opening our metal pool gate. My heart was racing. I freaked and ran around and locked all the doors and windows. Then I looked at our security cameras and it was just the damn cat trying to jump on top of the gate.
Also I apologize in advance if I'm kind of MIA this week. Beginning of the month is always CRAZY for me.

@purplestarz it is a total splurge. but after doing Easter pics with live chicks and bunnies and DD2's reaction. i just had to. girl goes cray cray over animals. and this is her bday present. nothing more from us!
@jessafishy this is our first possum but +1 to the asshole cats and squirrels that like to taunt our dogs. Also, my frenchie is not the brightest bulb around.
@jessdg that made me lol leaving the dentists office. Cute kid!
@carries2018 can I come because this party sounds really fun
@PizzaMonster3 ugh, I'm sorry girl. I'm in sales, so I'm very familiar with the feeling of racing the month to avoid a PIP. My job now is somewhat more secure, but my first sales job, if you didn't make your number 2 months in a row you were put on a PIP, and if even one month on the PIP you didn't make your modified number you were fired. Was so happy when I was able to get tf out of that job.
Uggggffh just left the dentist. I hate the dentist. I dealt with that hate most of my 20s by just not going ever, but being pregnant you're supposed to go every like 3-4 months so I've dragged myself. Why do they always try to have conversations with you when they're in your mouth???? STOP.
@sjohns08 Hope you like contacts! I've been wearing them since 7th grade. I wish glasses were more comfortable for me because I like how they look but I feel like I can see so much more clearly with contacts.
*TW kind of* I had a really crazy vivid dream this weekend about losing the baby and it sort of freaked me out. This morning there's a very faint pink tinge when I wipe. I'm sure it's nothing and just coincidental, but my next appt isn't for 2 more weeks and I can't feel the baby move yet so I'm feeling paranoid without any reassurance.
@riverrainez oh no that's absolutely terrifying! Do you think you could purchase a doppler or get an elective ultrasound? That is really such a stressful situation to be in
@riverrainez i would call your doc and tell them about the blood. my office is pretty good about giving us reassurance and will bring us in at any alarm. i think they know they better ease our hormonal rage.
@riverrainez I'm sure all is well, but I second getting in at your doctors. They fit me in a couple weeks ago with less than that, and it really eased my mind.
@riverrainez those dreams are the worst, I've had a few myself and always wake up freaking out. I haven't had any bleeding accompanied with them though. I agree with others, call your doctor just to get some piece of mind.
Our weekend was fun but busy! We did a 5k on Saturday morning and I seriously overdid it. It felt good to be out moving but with the pubic/pelvic pain I've been having, walking 3 miles didn't help. I couldn't get out of bed without DH's help after we took a nap that afternoon! I looked like an old lady limping to the bathroom. We went to a comedy show with some friends that evening and it was hilarious. Felt good to laugh! Life gets to serious sometimes!
This week is going to be hard - DH is working hard to get National Boards complete. He coaches track at his school this time of year and they have a meet on Tuesday afternoon. Because it's elementary school and they don't have an actual turf field with lines, he'll be home late due to having to chalk the lines. So between that and boards I don't expect him home before 7:00 any night this week. (DD and I always go to the meets so that will be fun)
Send all your patience vibes my way ... I'm going to need it with DD this week! Especially since it feels like I took a kick to the crotch, over and over again!
@mrs_fogue it always freaks me out/thrills me when a new BMB goes up. It's like we're on this barrelling train, and I go through phases of wanting it to move faster and wanting it to slow tf down.
*starts to panic* no babies! Stay inside and cook longer! That's seriously so daunting to think of... in just a short while we'll be coming 'round the mountain.
i feel like i am on a slow cycle. it was going by fast. now i am like ZOMG GET HERE OCTOBER! when i think about months i am like only 5 more months! when i think about it by weeks i am like ZOMG STILL 25 weeks left. FTM have it so great, they have a shower to look forward to first to break up the time. ::envious stare::
@carries2018 right! And we have the glorious task of finding all the baby stuff, dragging it out of attic/closet/where ever its stored, cleaning it, and probably looking at amazon at how much better said products have gotten.
Did you know they have RNPs that rock themselves!? How many nights did I lay there trying to keep my arm moving so the baby wouldn't wake up.
@carries2018 since you're bored you can help me look. So DH's boss still hasn't confirmed if he will get to take his vacation in July that we have planned, so I'm starting to think about back up family vacations that we can book with short notice, like this month! And, that doesn't have zika! And, Go!
@mrs_fogue i am looking at Panama City Beach bc my parents have a condo there. pretty sure it has minimal zika. Also have Outer Banks NC on my list. i forget where you are from but if it isnt too much of a hike Maine is really nice in the summer!
