Ugh, what is it with so many of us today? I just got off the phone with my midwife because I've had intense cramping throughout my whole abdomen/lower back for about the last hour. Not contractions and no other pre-term labour signs but I'm supposed to chug a liter of water, lie down, and wait an hour to see if they get any better, otherwise I'm supposed to call back again and possibly go in to get checked.
Feel better, @CapricaAndrea - there must be something in the air (or a full moon?) - triage at L&D was so crowded when I left that folks were sitting on the floor!
They definitly haven't gone away, but she also recommended an epsom salt bath and I feel much better in the water. I know the cramps are still there out of the water though because I've already had to get out twice to go pee!
Yikes! Rough day for the board today! Glad it turned out to be nothing too concerning @c1tym0m22!
Hope things are calming down for you @erinh84! I have super bad pelvic pain/pressure and have to wear the support belt when I work per my OB. Might be worth looking into for yourself!
Glad the bath seems to be helping some @CapricaAndrea! Hope things calm down more soon!
I'm back home. I started having really bad BH about an hour before heading in to triage. Turns out I have a really bad uti(again). Also, the baby has dropped, so both were what was causing the intense pressure. I'm still really uncomfortable and any time I try to stand I feel like the baby is just going to fall out of me, so I'm still kind of walking hunched over. I was told to take it easy this weekend and stay in bed if I can. Luckily, DH is here to watch DS all weekend, so that's exactly what I'm going to do.
also, I was told to get a maternity support belt, so I just ordered on in amazon. Hopefully it will help.
@erinh84, sorry to hear you're going through that, but at least it's just a UTI. Hope your hubby can help you have a restful weekend and it clears up soon!
anyone violently lose their breakfast about once a month since the first trimester? At first I thought it was my mouthwash setting it off, but I stopped using it months ago. No other morning sickness really, but on the day it happens I have a coughing fit, sudden nausea and then everything comes up. I recover pretty quickly and I'm not too concerned about it, just wondering if others have these fun surprises in their lives.

I was thinking this wasn't me until the coughing part. It hasn't happened often but there's been a few times (unfortunately usually in the car) where I've coughed and then suddenly felt queasy and had to throw up. I'm cautious about coughing too much in the morning now...
Also happy to report that after sleeping in super late this morning, I'm back to just the usual discomforts of pregnancy and the cramps seem to be completely gone but when I first got up this morning after going to the bathroom I had some definite fluid leakage that wasn't urine, and wasn't like the discharge I've been having for months.
I I spoke to the midwife on the phone and she said it's probably nothing, but we she wants to do a swab to be sure and also check if maybe I'm getting a UTI so I'm meeting her at the clinic in a couple hours.
Edit to update: definitely not amniotic fluid leak, the UTI test will be a couple days to find out. But yay, I can stop worrying about baby now, everything is still on track.
@erinh84 Glad to see things are OK (well... Minus the miserable UTI).
Ummmm also can I add that the mounting pressure on my lady bits is real and miserable. I didn't get this kind of pressure until later with my last two, but I feel like this LO has started to drop sooner. Ugh... Going to be a loooooong 7+ weeks! Bring it on Mother Nature! But not really... Please be gentle.
I was also having BH and other pains the other day when everyone else was! I've just been trying to rest as much as possible and drink even more water. I've always drank about the same amount and lately I've noticed my pee is yellower than it used to be. Still a light yellow but apparently my body just needs more water at this point! Which is slightly annoying because I already pee ALL THE TIME. Plus 3 days a week I'm with the twins (4 months) so I have to hold it. The other day I leaked a few drops when I sneezed so that's starting. I need to buy some pads I guess.
Has anyone else had their anxiety levels skyrocket during the third tri? I developed an anxiety disorder Jan '16 and finally figured out it's because I'm gluten intolerant (most likely celiac) around 8 weeks pregnant. So the whole first tri was terrible with anxiety until it was out of my system. The second tri I was basically cured, felt great. Then as soon as I hit the 3rd it's back full force! And I haven't been eating any gluten or changed anything. Dh is thinking it's a hormone or something. I'm going to ask my midwife Friday, but it really sucks.

I get really bad indigestion. When I'm not pregnant, it is 100% controlled by avoiding breads and processed foods, but while pregnant, other things bother me as well. At first I could manage it with supplements, like apple cider vinegar, probiotics, ginger, and papaya enzymes. Late in the second tri, it got bad enough that I had an esophageal burn, and I was starting to get a little panicky about labor, since I had the same problem last time and it complicated my labor. I ended up needing to take a medication, and the relief has been immense.
@Jenna312 Is dry hair a symptom? I am such a frizzball! I did a henna treatment a few days ago, which usually smooths and hydrates everthing for at least a week, and I already look like a poodle! Seriously, I have it in a bun and it still looks like I stuck a fork in a light socket.
@hgpa I've found just about everything gets drier on me while pregnant. My skin, heels, and hair are all being leached of moisture. I have to really up my water intake to even come close to keeping it in check.

Oh my gah, my heels are horrid. I want to do that baby foot peel again after I give birth.

Yassss! Mine are painfully dry. I've tried ultra healing lotion and socks, but it doesn't do much good. They'll need to snake shed via baby foot peel.
Just went to the bathroom and couldn't stand back up because of my sore muscles. DH came in and DH and I got laughing so hard over my predicament. Everytime I laughed, I peed. Good thing I was on the toilet.

Yep. If I shower daily while pregnant, my skin hurts; my face looks old if I actually use a face wash or soap. Water is my friend right now.
Confession. I haven't used soap to wash my face in...weeks.

Talk to me about this baby foot peel. I looked it up on Amazon, and it seems both awesome and terrifying. Have you done it? How does it work? Why can't you do it when you are pregnant or nursing? Is it painful? I have so many questions and such disgustingly calloused feet!
@ellie111227 I haven't done it personally yet, but a ton of ladies on @Stankonia2014 and my M14 bmb did it after baby. It was crazy how that layer just peeled off completely. I'm so bad this time, I'm thinking it'd be worth it to do. They never mentioned it was painful. It does take a few days (2-4 I think) to get the full sluff off, but only 2 hours or so of actually wearing the product.
@ellie111227 and @HgPa, it's glorious! My husband describes my feet as power tools, my heels are so rough and dry. I used the baby foot peel and within a couple of days my feet started peeling/shedding like snake skin and after several days my feet were so soft. It wasn't painful at all.
You cannot use it while pregnant because the salicylic acid is a category C drug and not recommended for use while pregnant or nursing.

My face is always so red. People keep commenting and it's driving me nuts. No, I'm not hot, the baby just makes my face permanently red.
