I have to self-test my pee every appointment. They have a little station at the front desk that has a bathroom key, a bunch of Dixie cups, and a bottle of pH strips. I just have to dip the pH strip and wait a bit to see if it changes colour at all. If it doesn't, I throw it out and have my regular appointment. If it changes colour (which it hasn't so far), I report it to my midwife so we can do further investigating. I also have to weigh myself when I get there and report my weight each time.
@alm52386 Unless you have UTI symptoms, pretty sure they're checking for sugar (particularly if you have GD) and/or protein (possible sign of pre-e at this point for all of us).
I have to pee in a cup every time. It's just a clear plastic water cup that I write my name on in Sharpie.
Now that I can't see past my belly things are literally hit or miss. I always get plenty in the cup, but last time I also got quite a lot on my hand. Pregnancy is so glamorous.
I only had to pee in a cup once, at like 8 weeks. My doc is super laid back. Unless I report a problem or something she assumes it's fine. I actually wouldn't mind more tests since I am always paranoid!

For those of you peeing on your hand.... just put the cup all the way against your skin and pee a little then take it out. They don't need much to test. You should be able to feel if it is in the correct area. I peed on my hand once and have been doing this ever since. So far it is working.
Ok, I have a really weird symptom. I did some googling today and it seems like it is somewhat common in pregnancy, but it's starting to freak me out a little bit. I have some small red bumps on my tongue. When I eat, it feels like I burned my tongue in hot coffee. My taste buds are also a little off. It's been almost a week now and they haven't gone away. I see my OB tomorrow, so I'm definitely going to be letting her know.
Has anyone else ever dealt with this during pregnancy? Or do you have any idea what it may be? I'm somewhat of a hypochondriac(hate to admit it) so I'm just trying not to freak about it.
Every appointment I test my own urine and weigh myself. I tell the midwife the results. Last pregnancy I also did my own GBS swab. My midwife doesnt do cervical checks either so between no swab and no checks, no pelvic exams happened until I was in full active labor.
I talked to my OB and future midwife (first appt is next Wednesday) and they both said I'm probably just having braxton hicks and if they get worse, more frequent or don't go away with water and rest then I should call back. Or if I think it could be a UTI.
I have to pee every visit. They would really like me to bring in my morning pee, but I've only done that a couple times. If I'm coming straight from work then I really don't want to leave my piss in the communal refrigerator.
I pee in a little lab cup labeled with my information at every appointment. My last ob wanted samples from first thing in the morning, so they sent me home with a lab cup every appointment and I would bring it to the next one. The nurse there tested it in the room when I got into the room, at the same time she did my weight and blood pressure. One thing that is new for me at my current doctor is that around a month ago they started taking my temperature and blood oxygen level at every appointment is addition to weight and blood pressure. Anybody know why that would be done?

This is what I do as well, except she checks for more than just ph.
Last night I had such bad acid reflux and bloating that hours after dinner I felt like I had eaten twice as much, and like I would throw up if I even moved. I woke up my husband to bring me in a garbage can in case I needed it since I didn't want to even risk making it to the bathroom. The most annoying part is that it was the first night this week that I was actually in bed early enough to get a full 8 hours of sleep and instead I was lying there awake for over an hour, uncomfortable and concentrating on not hurling.
In retrospect I should have just gone for it so I could feel better and actually sleep, especially since I ended up throwing up this morning instead anyway. I still can't get over how much food was still in my stomach nearly 12 hours later (and I'd only had a grilled cheese, a banana and some applesauce for dinner! WTF digestive system?!)
I'm not sure if this is pregnancy related, but my right arm is numb, it feels heavy. It's been like this for a week. I thought I might've slept on it wrong, but I'd think after a week it would be gone. I don't have any other alarming symptoms like chest pain, swelling, or change in color, so I don't think it's something super serious, but it's odd.

My right thigh has been off and on numb since mid-second tri. Dr said it was the baby sitting on a certain nerve. Not sure if it's anything similar to what you're feeling.
I went to the doctor this morning and got my tdapp booster. Walking outside fifteen minutes later, I throw up everywhere. One of the nurses saw me and brought me back in to drink some water and eat crackers. I feel ok now... did this happen to anyone else or am I super special? I'm taking the day off of work, I want to go home and wash my face and change my clothes.
Leaking pee when I stand up from peeing is driving me insane. I am considering leaving a change of clothes at work because I just dripped some on my pants and you can see a spot. I only get 30 minutes for lunch (yay teacher life) so doubt I can make it home and back to change. Ughhhhh.

Had an appt this AM. My blood pressure what slightly elevated. Not super high, but higher for me. They want me to come back to do BP readings. Awesome.
@FSUNole31, I carry underwear in a ziplock baggie in my purse for this very reason!
@merrylea, sorry to hear about this. Pregnancy is tough enough without adding in extra screenings. Maybe if you have a few normal readings in the future, you'll be off the hook.
@CapricaAndrea That has happened to me more times than I can count! I usually end up waking up at 5 or 6 in the morning and throwing up my supper as if I just ate minutes before. It is so crazy how some foods sit in my stomach and my stomach just can't process them. I think it is one of the things I found most shocking about being pregnant! I have finally determined that I cannot eat ground beef until this pregnancy is over.
@Stankonia2014 Two of my fingers were numb for the last 4-6 weeks of the last pregnancy. My doctor said it was not concerning, and the feeling came beck as soon as I gave birth. I'd definitely ask though!
@Stankonia2014 My right arm has gone numb at various points during both of my pregnancies. It's honestly never even occurred to me to ask my OB! If you get any answers, please share!
Well, I'm on hour two of constant contractions. I've had 47 contractions so far. Ranging from 30 seconds to a minute long. That's a new symptom for me...

Have you drank water and rested? You could also try taking a warm bath... but after two hours I would call your OB. Fingers crossed that they stop!

@doodleoodle I drink 100oz of water/day so no issue there. I also have a sit down job so I rest all day @Stankonia2014 no, not going in. OB doesn't seem totally concerned because I can still walk/talk/breathe through them. Very frustrating though.
