Re: April TWW

  • @Aera11 are you using the progesterone in the morning? Or 2x a day? I put mine in before bed and the leaking hasn't been too bad.
  • Loading the player...
  • @lindyc13 just morning for me & then I'll shower at night & try to remove the excess (sorry if that's tmi).  I just use a mini pad to help during the day but it's still gross.
  • @stella_700 GL either way... I like to surprise DH so he's a bit in the dark about my testing... Really I just can't decide if i'll stop testing once my trigger is out and wait till 14dpIUI or keep on testing....

  • @Aera11 I totally understand the swamp thing. I'm not sure about the daily testing. I don't know if it will help or freak me out more LOL. I didn't make it to the trigger shot, so I guess if I see a positive that would be more reliable? I'd be crushed if it's negative though. Decisions, decisions!

@stella700 Thanks for asking about not having a trigger shot! I was going to ask the same thing.

@lindc13 I think my tatas are sore from the progesterone and I have some bloating, but im no stranger to bloating given that I have endometriosis. I'm taking 2 200 mg progestan suppositories 3xs/day. TMI coming - There's definitely leakage, but it's a clear fluid with a little bit of beige to it sometimes. Sometimes, there's creamy stuff when I wipe.

AFM I've had more cramping the last day or two at 8dp5dt and my acid reflux/GERD has been awful. I'm somewhat constipated so I'm wondering if that could be why my stomach is cramping. I hadn't really thought about testing early, but now I'm not sure. I'm trying to stay positive and say my daily affirmations. This is so nerve wracking!
  • @clovelyone yeah the leaky cottage cheesy progesterone is gross but better than some other options.  Just one more thing to add to this lovely process ;) I had a faint positive yesterday & today it's almost gone.  I'm hoping tomorrow it'll be stark white so that way as I keep going, I'll either see the positive come back or it'll stay negative.  I know nothing is official until a beta or AF but last time I didn't test & was horribly blindsided when AF showed up two days early.  This whole thing is emotional & our hormones our outta whack so I'm just trying to prepare myself a little better.
  • I'm fighting the urge to test & at the same time I don't want to! I have such a good feeling about this month!
  • Ahh @morgan&paul2010....I was feeling so good too! Tested this afternoon at 9dpiui, and BFN, hoping it's still too early. The urge to POAS is just too strong

  • I think I'm 6pdiui or 7dpiui but still early! I have a question, I am on a board on Facebook and I've heard y'all talk about progesterone a lot too. Should my doc have put me on it? Some girls on the other board said yes and I need to talk to my doc? Trying not to freak
  • @morgan&paul2010 it can't hurt to ask your doctor but I am assuming they would've put you on it if they thought it was necessary.  *TW* I had two m/c before 12 weeks and that is part of why I am on it.

Okay- I'm trying to stay calm. What is the reason though? Like oh you have this issue you will need extra progesterone? I just don't understand what it's actually used for. Sorry if I'm. It making sense. And so sorry for your loss
  • @morgan&paul2010 I think it's usually used during the luteal phase when not enough progesterone is produced to support an embryo.  Try not to stress :) I'm sure if it were an issue they would have put you on it.  Definitely ask about it, it can't hurt!  But try to give your doc the benefit of the doubt until you talk to him/her.

My RE uses it to be proactive in my case.  My first m/c was chemical, so likely a bad egg.  Progesterone would've made that unhealthy pregnancy last longer.  My second was due to a chromosomal abnormality, which was random since neither DH or I carry anything.  Again, had I been on progesterone then it would've most likely made my body hold onto that pregnancy longer than necessary.  We didn't do PGS testing with IVF so I'm hesitant to use it, but my RE just wants that extra support in the event an embryo attaches :)

sorry if that was long, I only went over it once with my doctor and have just followed her plan since.
  • Congratulations!!! @dragonette505 such wonderful news, is this your first BFP?

I am also in 2ww, first FET was last Thursday.

Does your RE give you any do's or dont's after ET? Mine says to completely resume normal life, and that you can do whatever you like! Including exercise, back to work, sex etc etc. Husband and I have been away for the weekend and yesterday I went out on a boat (in a lake, but it was rougher than we thought it was going to be!) we have been on bumpy roads, gone on a 3 hour hike (not overly strenuous). I naturally still felt a bit paranoid after bumpy boat ride/road so phoned my clinic for some reassurance (googling made me freak out) and the nurse clarified that literally I can do whatever I like, that the embryo is comfy and cosy right where it is and you can't do anything to alter the implantation outcome.

Do your RE's say along the same lines, or do they encourage quite a lot of rest?

Also I am actually afraid to POAS, I feel like (at this stage) that I won't do this ahead of the date they gave me. I am being realistic that there's a good chance it won't work, but also not feeling negative either. Is anybody else afraid to POAS? Or do you guys loving testing as soon as you can haha xx
  • @Aera11 thank you for that! All my levels were normal my lining was super thick- my eggs all super healthy. I'm only 29 so I'm not sure if that play into them doing it or not? Thanks j you for giving me peace of mind for the weekend! I will email my doc Monday and just ask!
  • BFN @ 10dpiui, have one more test I'll take on Monday. @Aera11...any luck for you today?

  • No problem @morgan&paul2010!  Let me know what your doc says.

it could still be early @SoonToBeMommaHowe!  I tested the last three mornings, all faint positives...faintest today.  I'm sure it's still the Ovidrel because I'm only 6dp3dt (is that right? My transfer was Monday so that's counting Monday...otherwise 5dp3dt).  I'll keep testing til AF or beta Thursday!

quick question: have any of you had mild OHSS?  Since my transfer I've been nauseous, had some diarrhea (sorry tmi) & the last 24 hours sharp twinges on my left ovary.  I was reading more about it & those are some symptoms...I don't have the others. It sounds like if it's mild, it goes away on its own.  Just curious if anybody experienced this.  The sharp twinges are making me nervous.
  • Hello, ladies I'm new to this site. I hope you don't mind if I join. Had my second iui on 3/31 and beta is 4/17. Gl to everyone
  • @morgan&paul2010 I have talked to several REs about progesterone... the research out there is not conclusive that there is a benifit unless you specifically don't make enough. It doesn't hurt but it likely doesn't help in all the other cases. I am on it but it's more of a meh thing and only because I happened to be on it with my rainbow bfp. Also my MFM doc thought it was more hoodoo voodoo but said it wouldn't hurt. So I would not freak out that your not on it.

  • @Aera11 Yes I did, and I experienced all those symptoms you are mentioning, it's not fun even if it's mild is it! It will settle on its own, but still try to rest and keep hydrated :) I must admit nearly a month on I am still a little swollen and a bit tender. Hope you feel better soon :)
  • @Knottie34543584 okay, phew! Thank you! None of it felt serious enough to bother my re just yet so that helped ease my mind.  I really try not to google things if I can avoid it because there's so much to freak out about during all this.

Oh this makes me feel much better! Thank you for your input:)
  • *lurking* I was originally on the March TWW but we ended with a chemical pregnancy. We will be starting Menopur tomorrow if my baseline tests are ok in the morning. With any luck, I'm hoping I'll join you all for an April TWW.

  • @katherind I'm so sorry to hear that! Good luck with your current cycle!

@dragonette505 Congratulations and I hope your beta continues to rise!

AFM I've resisted POAS early, but had I already bought the tests, I probably would have tested today. FX for tomorrow! I'm just a little worried about refraining from using the bathroom for so many hours. I get up to pee at least twice a night so I guess I'll just have to try to hold it.
  • Who's symptom spotting?! How is everyone feeling?
