I appreciate all of the perspectives on prayers/thoughts/well wishes/etc. I welcome these type of conversations, because one day when my children ask me about these kind of things, it'll help me better explain to them with different perspectives in mind. Although my children will be raised in a Christian home, I want them to understand and respect other's beliefs/religions/the choice to not/etc.
They were reoccurring. They spotted the first one at the anatomy scan and sent me to a heart specialist. He determined that everything looked fine with her heart. Then they heard it again around 32 weeks I think so I started going in for weekly ultrasounds and NSTs. They don't know for sure it was because of the cord, but that's my doctors guess. DD has had any kind of heart problems since birth, and my OB said this is the case 95% of the time.
ETA: they heard it a few more times during the weekly NSTs and ultrasounds. That along with her not doing enough breathing motions is what got me sent overnight in the hospital.
to add to the 'prayers' conversation above - I am not religious at all. But I will think about people and tell them I'm thinking about them or remembering them. It's kind of the same, for me? When people tell me that they are praying for me I usually just say 'ok' and I know it's kind of rude. I just get uncomfortable.
@awillis13. Yes, the "Road Race" one. DS is obsessed with the show. I like it FOR him but watching it sometimes is pure death.

Currently sitting in my car in the parking lot at school mustering up the energy to go in a survive another day. The closer it gets to summer the harder these kids are to get focused and work. We also have our state testing coming up in two weeks so it is serious crunch time. Ugh it exhausts me just thinking about it!

@FSUNole31 I have to psyche myself up in the school parking lot every day to go in. Since I'm just interning no one reeeeeally minds if I'm not there and I'm in control of my schedule. So it's on my own drive to go every day and make a good impression. It's getting harder and harder to care about that.
@FSUNole31 I completely understand. Our principal (she's awful) is gone for the rest of the week... and it is a noticeable difference in the atmosphere here at school. Today is the first day in a looooong time I have not dreaded walking in.
@EmeraldNC poor administration is the worst! We have our own issues at my school in that department too. Hopefully you can have a peaceful rest of the week. @LMMama good for you for making it this far, I know I would for sure have a hard time if I were in your shoes! I hope the rest of the school year flies by for you!!

@Mother0fDragons thinking about you. I hope everything is OK with her!
As for the praying thing... I was told something long ago that prayers don't have to necessarily mean you are thinking something religious. If I were to say " I wish you well " that is considered praying. I was told that even thinking about someone is considered praying because that person is on your mind.
@JAGinMI you got it! An hour in and still sitting on it. My neck pain I've been getting usually kicks in around 10a, so we'll see. Will report back again later.
Re: praying- I don't pray much, and I'm not going to say "you're in my prayers" if I'm not praying. I will usually say you are in my thoughts and positive energy being sent your way, which is true.
DH is currently on vacation to Jamaica for his sisters wedding. I'm adopting a f%ck it bachelorette lifestyle and letting the house get messy while he's gone, eating random things for dinner (avacado and yogurt last night!), and letting the dogs sleep with me. Probably the last time I'm going to be on my own in a long long time.
Here goes day one of sitting on a yoga/exercise ball at my desk instead of my chair. Hopefully I'm more comfortable.
I've been using an exercise ball chair, and it's awesome! If you don't have the chair part that the ball sits on, I'd highly recommend it. Provides a big more stability and it has wheels on it!
I don't seem to have much pain during the day... but my energy levels for sure drop at 10am and 1-2pm. Any tips on how to boost these?!
Some of you may remember that I asked for tips on how to drink coffee (since I've never drank it before) and I tried having a cup at each of these times... it did very little for my energy level, but made baby boy BOUNCE OFF THE WALLS!

But I mean doesn't it make you wish you had a Toodles who would come when you call him and bring you useful shit to help you out of a jam?
DD loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I feel like it could be worse. It could be Caillou or whatever.
I guess lol. My favorite part is the hot dog dance but DS yells at me everytime I try to do it. I think the repetition is making me crazy. Can we watch something less touchy feely? Maybe some old school looney toons with classic cartoon violence?

Today is our symphomy field trip....not me favorite. They announced our bus had arrived and my third graders started screaming. I literally yelled at them, "have you lost your minds?" So ready for Spring Break.

Just got back medical records for EM. The last scan showed all four chambers of the heart, and her placenta seems to be moving (it's now considered "low lying" instead of placenta previa). Glad things are working out, because I know she didn't want a C-section!
re Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: I don't mind it too much. The one thing that really bothers me is that sometimes Pete is a huge bully and everyone just rolls with it. What is Mickey teaching kids by giving Pete the 5 coins he's demanding in order to gain entrance to a public park that is named in his honor?! It's freaking Mickey Park!

DS is a huge Mickey fan and anytime he needs help with anything or he sees me or DH working on something he's all "We need some Mousketools to help us!" It cracks me up. I find Mickey to be one of the less annoying kid shows.
@huskermom14 Haha that is too cute! My DS tells me all the time that "Oh no Mommy! You can't go in the clubhouse because you didn't say the magic words!". Sorry kiddo, I was busy making your sandwich.
@doodleoodle Your Pete on comment is interesting as I have felt a bit different. Growing up all the cartoons had a clear good guy and a clear bad guy. I find that this new version of Mickey has tried hard to not have any obvious "bad guys" and I kind of miss that. I want my kids to learn that not everything is sunshine and rainbows, but I agree.. Mickey needs some more fight in him!
@Elyse1384 I'm all for Pete being a jerk sometimes, but he needs to get called out for it. I feel like Sesame Street does a good job of calling characters out when they're having a bad moment.
My friend just had her baby yesterday at 36w (luckily healthy and doing well). Her having her baby in her arms is making it feel that much more real right about now that I'm on borrowed time! Oh my. And she delivered before April the Giraffe... so there's that.
@Elyse1384 I totally understand your feeling. My friend delivered at 32 weeks on Feb 28th and got to take her baby boy home yesterday!! That month went so fast and I know June will be here before we know it!
I know how you guys feel. In the last few weeks I had a niece and a nephew born. Ive held them both and it just made me so excited go hold my own little squish. ☺
Exercise ball update. I actually sat on it all day. My neck feels better than yesterday and days prior sitting in my regular desk chair. So, I definitely will be using it more regularly.
One negative- the rubbery material doesn't allow for much air flow

Sooo should I look out for swamp crotch or trapped farts or all the above?!
Im not sure a yoga ball would be in my best interest with all the gas I have
In two days, June is in the hole for birthing. I think that's what they call it. We aren't up to bat, or on deck, so we are in the hole, no? Either way, it's getting close!
I just found out that a girl I was friends with in HS and was due in July just went into labor at 22 weeks... her little girl lived for 28 minutes before she passed. No reason was given as to what caused her preterm labor. The news/photos she posted immediately put me into tears and back into PGAL mode. I'm so thankful that we are all past V day at this point. It really reminded me not to take each day with this LO for granted.
Aw moment. My daughter had her cardiologist yearly follow up today. The "moderate" hole in her heart is now considered "small/tiny"!!!! He said we can basically take surgery off the table!! And by next year it might have completely closed by itself! I'm so excited! I'm also so annoyed that my husband is busy training (he is army) and if he doesn't call tonight it will be 13-15 more days (he is at NTC about to go into.thr box) until I can tell him the good news!
@mombod I don't mind roadster racers. It's something different. Between my two girls I have seen/listened to every episode 100x.
Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
