@Cinnamonn - I will drink coffee all through my TWW, and I plan to through my pregnancy too - but I never have more than about 12 oz a day.
As for alcohol, I'll have a glass of wine maybe once or twice a week with dinner during the TWW, but I've cut back.
At the beginning of TTC, I didn't drink at all, and then after a few BFNs, with the stress, I drank a lot more than I should have. Ugh. Anyway, so now just a little bit, in moderation.
I had an ultrasound today and unfortunately have lots of small follicles, but nothing even worth measuring. My E2 was 185, so I was hoping there would be something brewing. They want me to keep on my same dose and will monitor again Saturday. ugh!

@Cinnamonn - I think it varies, my RE apparently likes to check progesterone each cycle, but I found out today that he wouldn't do anything differently this cycle if it came back low, he'd just plan differently for next cycle. Other RE's in the same practice check it once during your initial workup and if it's fine, they don't check again.
@Manders85 - they don't even do an US on the day of IUI? That seems crazy, that's the first thing they do on IUI day for me, while they're washing the sample.
@funkykey - FX for that not-so-little little follie!
Ahhhhhhh yeah so alcohol and caffeine...
Alcohol, no. I don't drink during my TWW. Caffeine - yes, absolutely. I have a soda problem. I have weaned off of my heavy duty neurological meds because they are teratogenic. But my RE's office feels that there are no restrictions to what you eat, drink, or do during your TWW. So I let myself have the caffeine (I'm trying to wean down), I still take pain reliever for headaches (I get severe migraines and am now off all of my preventatives), and this morning I took cold medicine.
Once that test turns pink, I would be making some serious changes to the OTC meds that I'm currently willing to take, but talking with my doc, they have stressed over and over that there's no reason to be miserable during your 2ww.
****TW****** I have a child and he's not what you'd typically consider "healthy" - he has a lot of medical problems even though I did everything as "right" as I could. Intellectually, I know that nothing I did caused his issues. I believe part of the problem is genetic, but I recently found out that there was an "injury" to his brain while in utero - probably very early on, and probably from nothing special I did. The doctors told me it literally could have just been that I had a high fever the day that particular portion of his brain was developing. No way to avoid that. But now, at age 6, we are starting to see what they think are the effects of that damage. SO it's something that's 100% at the forefront of my mind, always. If I am fortunate enough to get pregnant again, I will probably be so nervous about doing something "wrong". I'm really trying to find a healthy balance between living my life reasonably and being afraid that I'll hurt a baby I haven't even created yet.

@pawcall thank you for sharing your story. It is very inspiring to me. It describes your strong personality. Question: They checked my FSH level this time around and it is 7.4, when I originally started the process of trying to conceive it was borderline high at 10.2. Can it fluctuate this much as this result means I am in the normal range now? Will I respond better to the medication?
Re: alcohol, I think I have a pretty, um, European relationship with it and pregnancy. In Europe, they just tell pregnant women to cut back to one glass a day (I'm thinking Switzerland specifically). When I contrast that with the reams and reams of instructions given to women in North America, I think: "God, everyone is so paranoid!"
That said, @pawcall, I know other women in similar positions to you, with children who have health issues that may have started in utero. There is so much to consider - heat and fevers and everything. I know a couple of adults who have health problems because of medications their mothers took when they were in utero - it's terrifying! One of my sisters is pregnant, and she was ill earlier on in her pregnancy - we are trying not to be alarmed, but it might be that it's affected her to-be-born baby.
Anyway, all this is to say: I can see why people worry. The risks are so high. You try to do everything right, but there's so little information - you end up avoiding just everything. You want to protect your baby.
@Cinnamonn - I don't think coffee affects implantation. There are so many women who have way worse diets/health than me, and they get pregnant and carry to term all the time. Until we know more about infertility, really, right now it just seems like luck of the draw. FX you get a sticky one soon!

@funnygirl34Oh good, would love to hear your results from tomorrow. They did an U/S today for me on Day 3 and told me two good follicles are growing and I will post the size when the report is available. I go in Sunday for another ultrasound and I am hoping I may not need more medicine. Last month I did 7 days of 225 IU Menopur. And I had one follicle the size of 26 the day of trigger which may have been too big so this time they want to monitor me more and trigger me before they get to that size. They only gave me 5 days of the medication this time and possibility of having to buy more on Sunday based on the results.
Hi ladies-
****tw****
Got diagnosed with a CP today after 2 good betas but started to bleed last night and betas went down today.
****tw over****
Not sure when my next iui will be. I have an appointment with my RE on Tuesday to go over next steps.
Good luck everyone.
@Imajin99 Lurking here. Yes, it can vary from cycle to cycle, but literature says the maximum number is the one relevant. However, my RE says the quality (reflected by FSH) may vary from cycle to cycle and he only does IVF if the FSH is in the good range at the beginning of the cycle...So, really conflicted opinions out there.
Hi ladies - jumping over from the T-TTC board. I'm CD#1 for my first IUI cycle today. I'll be using letrozole + trigger and have my first ultrasound scheduled for March 13. Excited but nervous about this new step! Looking forward to learning more about all the intricacies of IUI from all the experienced ladies here.

Oh no, @bpietronicco!!! A CP is such a mind f*@ck after getting a BFP. UGH! I'm so sorry to hear that and am thinking of you and wishing you good luck for the next month no matter what you decide to do.
Yeah @pawcall, no U/S day of IUI. I was surprised too. It was only 36 hours after my last one... has anyone had the experience of having an U/S day of IUI only to have that U/S cancel the IUI? I'm wondering if they were trying to save me the cost for something that was going to proceed anyway, no matter what? Interesting....

@funnygirl34 I haven't had too many side effects. I seem to get some cramping in my legs but other that I feel great on it. Except last night I could not fall asleep but don't think it was because of the Menopur. I went in today for my U/S and was waiting for my report to be sent to me to report back but it didn't get posted yet. However RE says I have a few small follicles and two larger ones, I think 12mm and 15mm. I am back on Tuesday morning for another U/S and bloodwork. She was suggesting Wednesday but I told her last time one of them got too big at 26mm so will see what results on Tuesday. Did the increase you to two vials of Menopur now?
@Imajin99 I was on 2 vials for the first 8 days and they increased me to 3 vials because of the drop in estrogen! Sounds like you had a good report! Cant wait to hear how your ultrasound goes tomorrow!

AFM, I had bw and u/s today and I have one lonely follicle, 24 mm, and my lining is 7mm while my estrogen (not sure if that's the same as E2) is 264. I trigger at 8:45 tonight for IUI on Thursday at 8:45am. This is IUI #3. God willing third time is the charm!
My IUI is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. This was the my results from ultrasound left:17.21mm, 13.84mm, 8.32mm & right: 17.13mm, 12.78mm.
E2: 486
Questions for you ladies:
1. Do they grow about 1-2mm a day? I have been given one more dose for Menopur tonight and then I trigger in the morning? Will the two larger ones grow enough prior to the IUI?
2. We did the BD yesterday morning, should we BD tonight or should we just hold off until after IUI so he has a higher count?
3. With the trigger do you ovulate from both sides? All follicles that are mature?
4. My U/S report from Sunday showed only one follicle on right side at 8.81 but todays ultrasound showed two and one measuring 17. Did previous RE miss one....
@imajin99 yes follies grow 1-2mm a day, so your larger ones should be 18-21mm at O. YOur RE should have told you when you could last BD (everyone has different preferences...) but typically they want at least 48hr no BD prior to giving the semen sample. Yes when you trigger you will Ovulate all of your mature or close to mature follicles (the smaller ones will not likely fertilize because they're not mature) Likely you only had one larger follicle at your last US and between now and then others have grown and caught up. GL this week

@wabash15 Thank-you so much. I didn't ask my RE and I guess I should have. Last time there was about 1.5 day gap and his count was 33 million. If we BD today after work then it will be about the same 1.5 day. Only thing was last time DH had some trouble finishing to get the sample...don't want that to happen again and maybe a longer gap will be better.
1. Yes, they mature 1-2mm a day. You're big ones will be fine. Plus, your E2 makes it seem like those 17mm are already mature! WOOHOO! 2. We usually BD apprx 40 hours before IUI and then hold off. But DH doesn't have any issues. 3. You will ovulate any and all mature follicles when you trigger.
GOOD LUCK!

@Funnygirl34 good luck to you tomorrow! FX!
Thank-you

GOOD LUCK!

My first IUI last month when the tested for E2 it was close to 1,000. I dont know what a good number is but I did go back and compare the results and thought it was quite strange the difference.
