I just came back from my MFM appointment and my induction date has officially been set for April 11th...that feels SO CLOSE. I have basically known this was coming since mid-December, but it's still kinda freaking me out. I'm trying to find some positives...DH knows this is stressing me out and he (very sweetly) bought me diamond earrings for Valentine's Day with the rationale baby girl's birthstone will definitely be a diamond and not an emerald. He also pointed out that had she been born in May, the kiddos would have clashing green birthstones (son is peridot/August). I do appreciate the hilarious effort to cheer me up. I guess I can't complain if birthstone jewelry will include a diamond. Also, wife of the year, I got him absolutely nothing for Valentine's Day because it's normally not something we really celebrate.

oh my gosh April 11th seems right around the corner! I don't know about you all but I feel like this pregnancy has just flown by.
@nda_roxybabe ours just has this lock on the inside like a bathroom where you click it and noone can get in. You actually have to have a key for yours?
@thistlenweeds Yea, I guess so. I believe it's the only room in the building and it has multiple stations
@Kipperoo Soon, but exciting! That was sweet of H! H's birthstone is diamonds so I keep saying I should totally get another band for my ring. I love emeralds and am hoping to get some earrings as I've always wanted a pair.
Will catch up on the last 40 posts here soon... but wanted to ask: what do you do when your toddler (18 months old) learns how to unbuckle the chest clip while in his car seat?
@jen_shoes exciting! Positive thoughts headed your way!
I'm in a similar position in that I applied for a different position on my campus that I would make a great deal more than what I make now. I found out last Friday (I think it was) that they want to do a phone interview this Friday! I hate interviewing, but it will be good experience if nothing else happens from it. Its a little awkward too because I'm friends with everyone in that office haha so I'll be interviewing with them and that just seems weird to me!
ETA: that same office just brought ice cream bars around from an event on campus and I've already eaten one...really want another one! haha its been a long day

@Kipperoo Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's so close to baby time for some of us!
Seriously could there be a better birthstone than Aprils diamond?! What girl doesn't love that. I'm a May baby though so I can't complain about the emerald as it's definitely one of the better ones! I'm excited to add this LOs birthstone to my girls stacking ring.

@nda_roxybabe, I love emeralds, too! They are my birthstone and I've always thought they were so pretty. I have a band on my right hand with DS's birthstone (peridot) and diamonds alternating and I'm planning to layer another one for this little girl. I'm not big on jewelry, but I wear the same stuff every day and love quality, sentimental pieces like that.
@mrsrep123 You can try the button up shirt trick. You could also treat it a disciplinary thing or look for a new car seat as some have chest clips that are harder to unbuckle.
@Kipperoo I enjoy jewelry, though I often forget to accessorize, haha. Growing up my Dad (and Mom) got me a pair of ruby earrings (my birthstone) and sapphire earrings. I think I had diamond ones too, but my Mom has them? IDK. Anyways, I love my real jewelry and have always felt I need a pair of emerald earrings to complete my little collection.
@mrsrep123 I would try the button up shirt trick and if that didn't work I would just flip her as long as she is over the minimum age in your state. I know we are all supposed to be "like omg rear facing foreverrrrrr" but if she is unbuckling it isn't safe so do what you gotta do.
Maybe this belongs in the breastfeeding or gear threads, but has anyone found nursing bras that don't look so...frumpy? Like, why can't I find a lace bralette nursing bra that isn't like $75 from Cosabella?!
@Kipperoo Cake has some okayish ones but my favorite bras were Le Mystere. They aren't cheap but they are amazing. It is my go-to brand when not pregnant or nursing as well. Treat yo self!
@mrsrep123 I wouldn't turn until at least 2 regardless of law. I'd try the shirt trick and make sure the straps are snug enough. Maybe get a mirror back there if you don't already have one. I'm not sure how well an 18mo old might understand threats or bribes, but either might work too.
@mrsrep123 they make buckle and chest clip guards to stop this. check out amazon, I did a quick search and there were a few different brands to choose from.
Yesterday when I was leaving work, the car next to mine was parked so close (the spots are tiny!) and since this baby bump cant be sucked in, I had to climb across my passenger side to pull my car out. It wasn't easy and definitely a sight to be seen. I wish my office had expectant mom parking.
@mrsrep123 this is probably bad advice, but my friend's kid wouldn't stop unbuckling. I don't remember what car seat she had but it was one where the chest clip was a button. She ordered a chest clip where you have to squeeze both sides in order to unlock and switched the chest clips and now the kid can't figure out how to unlock it.
Did the nursery thread disappear, or am I a dork and can't find it? Basically I've been busy cleaning out the nursery and we finally have a room that looks like a baby could live there again.
I'm finally caught up and still need to get on my computer to reply to a few posters! Im loving the randomness going on here ha. I feel like hibernating today since I had to do the glucose test this am and now I'm feeling pretty sluggish since. And now its every two weeks for appointments until the last month. Holy shit. So much to do, so little time.
I finally met with one of my bosses today about working after we have the baby. I had proposed to them a plan where I'd continue to work about 10 hours a week as a supply/financial manager, freeing the in-house manager up to focus on the clients, dogs, and day to day stuff. Well, as it turns out, this boss has decided that she's going to come into the business as the manager. That's a whole bucket of worms I won't go into, but it boils down to me not being able to do that work. So, looks like I'll be a full time SAHM after all. I'm weirdly happy and sad about it at the same time. On one hand, this was the original plan, and I'm excited to be able to focus on the baby. At the same time, that 10 hours a week would have been a really nice financial buffer, but we'll make do.
@nda_roxybabe Sorry to hear about work stressing you out. I can definitely commiserate. I agree with what @SKZW said about the importance of an occasional mental health day!
@Jens_Hoes Love the name Good luck! I hope you get the new job. Same with you, @BabyMC517!
STMs how are you all storing larger bottles and pumping supplies until baby/you need them? I sold half of our bottles but still have 9- 4oz and 9- 9oz bottles, I also have an embarrassing amount of pump parts that I don't know what to do with. Like it's stuff that I will for sure need but definitely won't need for a little bit (except the pump parts maybe).
@chickyclg My spare bottles are in a Rubbermaid box with the rest of my baby supplies. I haven't decided yet when I'll dig them out. I won't need the bottles for awhile but I should probably get them all cleaned/sanitized. We have a SUPER small kitchen so I can't even imagine where I will put them...

@hp_momma Small kitchen club here too, we were debating packing away the wine glasses to have more room, but who am I kidding 2 2 year olds and a newborn I will probably need a lot of wine.
Currently sitting in my brand new glider!! My first gift for Alexander arrived today from my brother and sister in law. The old one is very much in need of retirement. It's been through both boys and both arms are broken and it's covered in breastmilk and formula stains. But it holds so many memories. Bittersweet thing to toss.
Haven't had a chance to get through all of this yet (these random threads are so big!).
Question for Moms of Multiples: have your pregnancies been noticeably different between babies' sex? I guess what I'm asking is have you experienced different symptoms if the sex of the second baby is different than the first? Are girl pregnancies different from boy?
We are team green and a few women have shared that they could tell the sex was different because of their symptoms (heartburn, fatigue, etc). Anyone experience this?
@chailife34 I'm on boy number 3 and based on how different this pregnancy is I would have sworn this baby was a girl. With my first two I had little to no symptoms other than heartburn. With this one I had morning sickness until 13 weeks and horrible migraines. But nope, it's a boy!

Yes! My two pregnancies could not be more different. With DD, I felt great - no nausea, no morning sickness, etc. The only thing I experienced with her with heart burn the last few weeks (and she was born with A LOT of hair). This time around, we are team blue. My symptoms with this pregnancy started pretty much immediately, which I know sounds crazy, but it's true. My boobs started hurting immediately, terrible breakouts, all day nausea, threw up at least once a day up until like 18 weeks, heartburn started super early, a lot of random pains, I could go on and on. I know the old wives tales say boys are usually easier pregnancies (no morning sickness, etc.) but I am a complete contradiction.
This pregnancy (a boy) is so much different than my pregnancy with DD. I don't put any stock into old wives tales though. I know one mom pregnant with her third boy and she said each pregnancy has been completely different.
@chailife34 As a FTM/ Team Green I couldn't say. However, I am always curious in the HDBD threads if those are boy or girls bumps and kind of wish we regularly said, since I cant remember. You know, that is if you believe the wives tale that there is even a difference.
@Kipperoo April does seem so close. Congratulations on your date! I'm a May baby and have always hated the emerald so I'm slightly jealous of your diamond
speaking of kitchen storage, this might be strange but how many shelves/cupboards did you use for bottles and such? I've been thinking about what @nda_roxybabe said about cleaning out space and I don't know where or how much I will need.
@RainyDays86 and @KMD1106 I have GERD as well and take omeprazole (generic for Prilosec) eveven y morning. I've been doing okay so far but last week I was a mess! I added a Zantac before certain meals that I knew would irritate me and if I didn't do that I took it at night. I think it was just a bad couple of days because I haven't had to add it since. Usually saltines and sprite work for me along with bread. I drink milk daily and thought it would help too but then I read an article that it actually can cause more acid which I thought was weird. I didn't look into it much more but thought I'd share. I'd have to find the article again...anyway hope you feel better soon! Acid reflux sucks!!
ETA: I couldn't find the article I saw the other day, but looked up some info. https://www.healthline.com/health/gerd/beverages#Overview1 gives a breakdown of what you should and shouldn't drink for GERD and acid reflux. Milk is listed as something that can help, but may cause issues later. It says to drink non-fat milk or plant based milks instead. https://www.healthline.com/health/gerd/dairy-and-acid-reflux#Overview1 discusses specifically milk and acid reflux and gives suggestions as well. Just thought I'd share
I have a hiatal hernia so the heartburn is a bitch this time. I remember my OB with my second saying that I couldn't have the Prilosec or generic! But if that's not the case then I'm totally calling my new OB to get her info. I'm dying and it's time for more than tums. I went through the Kirkland huge bottle in one month

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
@Kipperoo I gasped when I read April 11th. Wow! Also you made me realize that mine will have those clashing birthstones, unless I go 9+ days over.
