Re: Randoms and Questions 2.6 - 2.10

  • Hugs @Kipperoo that's so frustrating. I hadn't to take the 3 hour 3 times last pregnancy. It was awful. I will be taking my second 1 hr in 1.5 weeks. I feel your frustrations.

  • I ended up calling the Dr. They scolded me and said I needed to eat more protein than just a protein bar, that I am just crashing after the glucose test. I just went and grabbed some chili from the caf for lunch. I'm hoping that will do it. My eye did stop, so that's good.

  • Omg I officially hate Fort Bliss housing @WombThereItIs @hp_momma never get stationed here!
I don't understand why last week we were told we were number 5 on the list but this week we are number 8. They offered us older crappy housing that isn't even on post "it's off post on post housing" which is similar to what we lived in the first time at Fort Hood. It's very very old housing. I'm 99.9% sure we are going to pass and we have already found a house we would love to rent. It's just so frustrating though. PCSing is the worst.
  • @Kipperoo Ugh, I'm so sorry :(

  • @bacorrea , the 3 hour test 3 times?? That sounds like my nightmare. I hate it so, so much. It always makes me feel like crap. I think my body just handles food in a weird way while pregnant. I eat like I normally do and I don't eat a lot of crap food or sweets, but I just really haven't gained any weight--I'm up 2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. It confounds the doctors because the baby (and my belly) are clearly getting much larger. The exact same thing happened with my son...IDK...I think my body just sucks at growing babies.

  • Sorry @Kipperoo!
    Are you feeling better @nda_roxybabe?
  • @jayandaplus I stopped seeing stars/ floaters. I just feel guilty now. I was so smug about doing the glucose then eating a donut and now I'm like "I'm sorry baby!!"

  • @Jkp7749 sorry to hear you had a scare! thinking of you and hoping they can pinpoint what's up soon.

@RainyDays86 it's hard to not wonder what people are thinking, but even if they don't think you are a complete powerhouse of a woman, you are! So glad to hear you had an awesome appt this morning! Wishing you an eventful rest of your day!

@Kipperoo oof that's hard, hopefully just one more test.
  • @Jkp7749 I'm glad babies and you are okay. I hope they figure it out so you can feel more at ease
@RainyDays86 You got this! Thinking of you.

  • @nda_roxybabe I was going to come and say that I often see spots when my blood pressure drops too low or my choice of food for the day has been carb loading... eat more protein girl! I totally get it as I am guilty myself for not having enough protein but if I can do a high protein breakfast I feel so much better the rest of the day!

I'm guessing someone with more "points" got slotted in over you guys. This is exactly why I am so nervous about the posting we are expecting because there is no RFO yet technically someone else with more seniority or whatever could poach it. I'm sorry you got screwed though, fingers crossed you find something nice with central air!

  • @Jkp7749 I'm hoping everything is well!

@Starphish18 I'm sorry, if it helps you feel better.. all doggies go to heaven :)

@ShadeofGreen816 it affects me & I don't directly know you or him. I can't imagine what the family is going through.. I'm hoping they find some light in their situation. I will keep him & his family in my prayers and thoughts.

  • @WombThereItIs I guess that's a possibility. DH is the highest rank for the houses, so there isn't really someone "higher" than us but whatever. We have found a house and DH will be there on Wednesday so he will check it out. Praying y'all AT LEAST get the RFO soon! Although we couldn't do anything with that at Sill or Bliss, we had to wait for the official orders which was super obnoxious.
  • @bacorrea I just PM'ed you.

  • Does anyone else normally get ovulation pain when not pregant? For the last week or so, I've had dull aches in the same "ovary - area" on both sides.  Is that RLP? I thought RLP was the lightning, ligament pain when you move or sneeze.  This pregnancy is so much different than my first.

I feel the dull aches often. I assumed it was rlp because I usually notice it after I've carried or lifted my toddler too much. Sometimes it lasts for a few days and I know I've done too much.
  • Another long day of travel for work. And now my flight is delayed. But at least it's letting me catch up on TB.

@Jkp7749 I hope they can find out what going on soon. I'm glad to hear the babies are good.

@RainyDays86 All of the feels from your DS's sweet comment. You are such a rockstar and handling all of this with such grace. I admire you!

  • Does anyone know if a 2 year old can take Tamaflu? I can't get ahold of DD's doctor until Monday. We have been staying with family and my little brother just tested positive for flu. I called my OB and she is having me take the preventative. I can't do anything about DD until Monday though, but I don't even know if she can take it. We both got flu shots but the doctor that diagnosed my brother said people with the flu shot are still getting it.  :s
  • @bacorrea: I'm sorry, I don't know the answer... but can you call her doctor's office anyway, or a nurses' line?

Yeah I called the nurses line and they can't do anything. I have to wait until Monday to call. Hopefully the flu shot will protect her! My OBGYN is having me take the preventative even though I got the shot.
  • Sounds like you're doing everything you can. Get lots of fluids! Fingers crossed it passes you by. Hope your bro feels better soon!
  • @bacorrea Could you take her to urgent care?

DS took Tamiflu last March. He was only 20 months at the time.
  • @bacorrea yes it's labeled for kids over 1. It's weight based dosing and I know it's available in a liquid suspension.
