  • @LDSJM123 Creepy internet hugs to you!! I hope it's made a tad easier knowing you're leaving her with someone you know and trust! It's very difficult to think about someone else being that person to meet their wants/needs. I'm sure it'll make your time home with her that much more special!!
  • @LDSJM123 good luck! I can't imagine how hard that is. All of you moms who go to work are amazing!
  • @LDSJM123 I cannot even imagine how hard this is! Good thoughts and wishes heading your way.
  • @arhodes6 that makes sense about having a weak core. I'm going to look up some strengthening exercises and see if I notice a difference. Thanks for the tip!

@LDSJM123 good luck today! It was hard for me to leave C when I went back to work after 7 weeks; I can't imagine having to leave him after having 6 whole months with him. You can do it though and you know she is in good hands! It gets easier and it really does make you that much more thankful for the time you DO get to spend with them. Hugs!
  • @LDSJM123 so many hugs to you! I hope your day goes well.

PSA: Tommee Tippee sippy cup recall. It looks like it's all the lids that have valves.

  • @LDSJM123 Hopefully you've had a good first day back! I started back to work after 8 weeks and it got a little easier every day. Just think of how great it will be when you get back home! Your LO will definitely be saying "mama" then!

My random thought for the day - how many of our July momma's got stretch marks? We went to an indoor waterpark over the weekend and I was floored at how many women were running around in bikinis with multiple kids in tow and NO stretch marks! I swear I used lotion and I feel like I wouldn't have them if I wouldn't have used it. It looks like I have angel wings on either side of my belly button. I tried not to be jealous of the moms I was seeing at the park but damn!
  • @HoneyBear40 yes to the stretch marks. It looks like claw marks all over my belly and hips. I'm always jealous of those moms who don't have them. I try to remember my body made and birthed a human, but it's really hard not to feel self conscious about them!
  • Yes to stretch marks but I feel like they are fading a bit as time goes on.

ladies- talk to me about sex.  I'm stilll having some scar tissue pain and sex hurts.  Tell me it gets better.  I am doing scar tissue massage by the way.
  • @HoneyBear40 Lots of stretch marks over here, though they are slowly fading so they're not so dark and purple like they were. Definitely looks like I got clawed by a tiger all across my belly....

@austinjl No advice, but I'm with ya. Still hurts.

  • @shanparadise I feel ya. My mom was visiting on the weekend and was hogging all the baby snuggles. By the time bedtime rolled around I was so happy to have him all to myself to snuggle and I almost wanted to cry when he fell asleep and I had to put him down.
  • YES @shanparadise!! My husband and I laugh about it. Seriously that last hour that she's awake can be brutal. But after about 30 minutes of watching her sleep I seriously want to pull her out and hold her!! We've always refrained largely because I have 75 chores I have to get done before I go to sleep and hope to get a couple hours sleep before she wakes again...but the thought always crosses my mind! :)

Well I feel bad saying I somehow escaped pregnancy without any stretch marks. But I wonder if part of it is genetics?!? My pregnancy was so eerily similar to my mother's with me. Literally start to finish!! She never got any stretchmarks either.
  • I luckily escaped stretch marks from pregnancy, but I already had them on my hips and sides of my breasts from growthspurts as a teen.

Sex does get better, but definitely still hurts. My doc says I've healed and the tissue is just stretching. Glad to know I'm not the only one with pain still!!
  • I don't know how it happened, but I only got one stretch mark with the twins. It's about half an inch long between my belly button and where my belly button piercing was in my teens/early twenties. I'm guessing it stretched where the hole was internally. It was really painful towards the end and was super red and angry looking. It's faded to a purpley color now. They say stretch marks are hereditary, so I fully expected to get them as my mom had a ton, but I escaped.
  • @ldsjm123 I am so sorry!! I still cry when I go to work sometimes and it has been three months. Let us know how everything goes.

So, we took our third plane ride in two weeks. (Yes, we are crazy). The first trip was fine. This last plane ride was HORRIBLE. There were delays in the air and we started circling. Right when I happened Elise woke up screaming. She screamed for the last hour of the flight. Then I got horrible vertigo and ended up throwing up. I don't ever want to go on an airplane again.
  • @shaylalr oh I'm so sorry! That sounds awful. I hope you and LO are feeling better today. Maybe you were flying to somewhere warm?! That's always a good thing...lol
  • I think stretch marks are genetic. I used tons of lotion daily with DD1 and didn't get any. I hardly used any lotion with DD2 and didn't get any. My mom didn't have any either. However, I do have my c-section scar and still have extra skin/fat from the pregnancy.
  • Bump ate 2nd half of my post

People told me with DD1 that babies often sleep more after shots. That NEVER happened with her. Yesterday DD2 had her 6 month shots and flu shot. Last night she slept for 12 hours straight! DD1 did wake up 2 times and I had to pump at 2:30, but I'm still thankful for more sleep and hopeful for the future!
  • I have to go into the clinic on Friday to get a blood pressure check. I shouldn't be this nervous about it, but I'm really hoping it was just gestational hypertension I had and I don't have to get back on medication for chronic  :s
  • I have the motorola connect 854 monitor and the stupid cord won't stay plugged in.  After reading reviews it sounds like it is a very very common issue.  I'm having trouble finding a legit replacement cord...going to try a phone charger tonight...some post somewhere said it MaY work...does anyone else have this monitor/issue? (it sounds common across all motorola models)
  • @kmurdock925 We don't have that specific model but we have a Motorola. We use the charger it came with in our bedroom, but a micro USB that came with a Bluetooth speaker in the living room. Haven't had any issues with it charging. The sound did go out on ours in November and I took it to Buy Buy Baby and they swapped it out for a new one, which was awesome.
  • @shanparadise good to know.  I'll try to swap out the plugs (they may be compatible??) and if that doesn't work a phone charger.  I got mine at target and of course don't have the receipt or box or anything what-so-ever so I'm not sure how a return/swap out would go.
  • Just got back to work today after a long weekend and I forgot the tops to my medela bottles, so all of my milk is currently being stored in my water bottle :( (Insert face palm).

Also just started working on my budget sheet again (haven't updated it since July due to C being born and all) With it being tax season, I need to stay organized! Since it took me 6 months to open a spreadsheet, maybe that means I will be returning to the gym shortly, maybe?!?!
  • @adough27 haha I went to pump at work yesterday and realized I'd forgotten all of my tubing
  • Never understood the point of it either. I think it's silly.
  • Am I the only one with zero libido?
  • 1) @DachshundMomma ... definitely have very low libido too. I had 3 episiotomys and things are quite uncomfortable down there plus I haven't lost all the baby weight and feel just not myself when naked lol.  Especially when the only time we seem to get is when she's content for like 10 minutes and then she loses her sh*t and starts crying.... totally throws the mood off.

    2) We've hired a sleep consultant. Nat still doesn't really like sleeping on her back and it still worries me leaving her on her tummy (I know it shouldn't much now that she can roll a bit). She is still sleeping on me or next to us in bed and we're ready for her to transition. Hoping the consultant helps.

    3) Anybody have cravings after pregnancy? I never really had a any during but now, I crave soda...and I never use to drink it. I'm talking like a couple times a month now I feel like thinking about makes me salivate hahaha.
  • @DachshundMomma we haven't had "the sex" since may and I just have no desire to. I've been back to my pp weight since three weeks after delivering but I'm far from happy with my body.
  • I feel almost guilty for not wanting to have sex. But I am so uncomfortable with my body. When you combine my shape and flubs along with my leaky boobs it's hard to feel sexy or desirable. My husband tells me otherwise but I'm just not there yet. I'm working on it though it's just taking longer than I thought.

I feel less alone in the boat now. I thought I was the only one with zip for libido.
  • @LDSJM123 yep! E has been attempting to crawl since Christmas. She's so so close!

I'm really nervous guys. Two nights ago DH and I were having sex. I'm not supposed to use hormonal BC due to my BP issues while pregnant, so condoms it is. Somehow it slipped off and we didn't notice until after, and although I'm not temping or anything to confirm ovulation, it just happened to be roughly two weeks before my expected period. We weren't going to start trying for #2 until spring/summer, so this wouldn't throw a huge wrench into the plan, but I guess it's more the unplanned and unknown that's making me nervous right now. We've been talking about it quite a bit the last couple days, I think DH is way more ok with having another baby if I were to turn a test in a couple weeks than I am, but I would be happy either way. This TWW is killing me though, and it's only barely started  :s
  • We've got sitting up on our own almost mastered. Her head was in the 98th percentile at her last appointment so I'm blaming that why we are still having some troubles - we're too top heavy! When she's on her tummy it looks like she wants to start crawling - butt in the air and back down but we don't have any carpet in the house so I think that's hindering her a little trying to crawl on the hardwood floors. Her feet can't quite seem to get a grip!
  • Just had the sex conversation with hubs this morning. We've been having sex since 7-8weeks pp, but I'm just not that into it. This mother was touching me softly and said "if you'd like something..." and I felt bad, but really didn't. I don't feel comfortable in my body, sex is still a bit uncomfortable, and it just hasn't seemed like it was as much fun/felt as good. Maybe I'm just out of practice. /shrug

AJ can get on all 4s and he will scoot backwards. He hasn't quite mastered the forward motion yet.
