DH wanted to go running but I wanted to vacuum and get dishes done so I tried putting DD2 on my back. She's big enough now and is liking it! Game changer
We started solids last week. Once we introduced banana DS didn't have many poops. Well, after nearly 3 days of no pooping, which has never happened, I didn't give any banana today and just BF. I have never seen so much poop. I'm traumatized.
Thanks ladies!!! I told DH about the stroller and we are excited to try it out this weekend!! TiffRox81 I think mine does have the harness to hold her in better as well. I meant to test it out last night but didn't get a chance to! All the pictures of the babies in their strollers were adorable! I am going to check out the umbrella stroller now!
Me: 31 & Husband: 40 Married: November 2014
M/C: 8/27/2012 - EDD: 3/22/13

Our rainbow baby will be here 7/27/2016 (Arrived 8/2/2016)
So I've mentioned before that my husband is deployed...he wants me to come visit (he is in a place 100% out of danger and honestly quite the unique/amazing travel destination). I am a travel junkie (former flight attendant). I really really want to go and likely will never have the opportunity to go again, especially this affordably. My only struggle is leaving LO behind (not realistic to take her on a 20 some hour flight...and to the middle east). Am I crazy for not wanting to leave her or crazy for passing on this opportunity?
@kmurdock925 I can see how you're challenged by the decision. I'm a travel junkie too! I understand not wanting to take her. The travel with an infant solo would be a handful. Who would you be able to leave her with? How long would you be gone? On the flip side, we took L to Europe for 10 days a couple months ago. I was truly stunned by how well she did! I had my husband and mom with me though.
@TiffRox81 good for you for taking her on the trip! That is amazing! I would be able to leave her with my mom and i know she would be totally 100% fine...the guilt would be all my own. I would say probably a week to 10 days of being gone. Nothing too crazy. My husband has 24 on 24 off shifts so I would only be with him every other day and I would go on the trip with some other wives and share a room so taking her would not work well at all, or really be possible.
I do ok leaving her while I'm at work and to go to dinner or things like that. I think its less of me worrying about her but more about feeling guilty. A practice run may not be a bad idea
@kmurdock925 I hear you. That would be me if I were in the same boat too. If a once in a lifetime opportunity came up, I know my mom would take her and she'd be well cared for. But for sure I would be battling the choice internally. Well I imagine as they age opportunities like this become less and less of a reality. I think the older they get, the harder being away from us will be. And taking them has more challenges!
Has anyone noticed a difference in bowel movements since you've started solids? Poor L's pooh isn't as soft and runny anymore. It doesn't seem to bother her. We aren't doing a lot of solids and even what we do feed her, we mix it with BM!
I know a lot of you are way more on top of it than me, but I just did my first real workout since giving birth. Holy moly. It was so horrible. I am so out of shape.
At just shy of 6 months postpartum, I'm feeling up for working out. I just discovered this type of circuit training (and a gym near me that offers it) and I'm excited to try it. I've never enjoyed working out, so the fact that it intrigues me is huge. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dP4wD3KBnOw
little bit of background - I have a boss that lives in So California. The rest of us are in Nor Cal. He has the ability to buzz me as if he's in the office next to me, which he does often.
Boss buzzed me during my pumping session. I had thought nothing of having phone conversations while pumping. I'd even talked to a couple clients that called for me! After all I'm just sitting there really. Mid conversation he stops and asks...what's that noise?!? Me - Umm, my breast pump? (Pause) boss - Oh. It kind of sounds like a breathing machine...ventilator! Me - yep, real hot stuff, lol!
I guess I'm going to get better about using my DND button and passing on the calls, lol.

@LDSJM123. i know a few ppl who have done this and loveeee it! hope you enjoy it
@shaylalr i agree with the working out! i was doing pretty good for a couple of months while i was on leave but after going back to work i havent at all. i really need to get back into it!
I worked out for like 2 weeks after my 6 week PP visit and haven't done anything since. Ugh. I have some short HIIT videos that target moms bookmarked on my computer but haven't done them yet. It's so hard to find first of all the motivation to work out, then the time when E isn't sleeping on me or wanting to be picked up. I only have so much time in my day that *might* work, and even then it's a toss up. Good for you ladies who are doing stuff!
@schaze I have weeks where I go walk with her and our dog and then weeks where I don't do anything.
DH told me last night he didn't know why I was tired, all I do was take care of baby J. Well that ticked me off a bit, I feel exhausted and I'm pregnant. I also do so much more than just take care of Baby J. You know the laundry, dishes and house magically just takes care of itself. So today I left him in charge of doing it all. I think he might just realize that it's not as easy as it seems.
@babycakesday You are super mom! I remember the first trimester tiredness... I took 2 naps a day! I worked from home so that was possible. I can't imagine being that tired plus the tiredness I feel from being a mom and not sleeping well. You are amazing! How is everything going? Other than being tired
@LDSJM123 how exciting! C said mama to me during his morning babble session on new year's day; it was just a fluke and hasn't happened since but I pretty much turned to mush. It was clear as day! I can't wait for him to start saying it on the regular.
Has anyone else been dealing with back pain since having our LOs? My back aches all day everyday since having C. It's in the arch and makes me feel like an 80 year old woman...it's always worst when I'm bending over to put C down/pick him up. Not sure if a massage would help or if I should see a chiropractor or what. I've never done either before...
So excited for what 2017 has in store for us...and our good friends. One is pregnant, due end of August and another is going off the pill and trying for baby!! Kind of makes me laugh that I've become both of their go to for advice and questions. Thanks to you ladies, even if I didn't experience something during my pregnancy chances are I read about it on here!! I told them both I feel like an encyclopedia for pregnant people now Hahaha!
@jjtruffles YES. The back pain!!! I am scheduling a massage for next week. I don't get them often but they are really wonderful. However, they are definitely a temporary fix for me. I would recommend it though! I have never seen a chiropractor so I am not sure. I usually carry a lot of tightness in my shoulders and neck so I need to stretch daily or it gets bad.
@arhodes6 I'm great besides the exhaustion. I have my first prenatal visit plus sonogram. Iml'm getting excited.
Baby J kept waking up crying all night long. We decided to take her to urgent clinic because something just felt off. She has been battling a cold, but this cough started about 3 days ago. Doc said its bronchilitis and just to let it run its course. We bought a humidifier to help with her congestion a bit. Has any one had to use one before? Do I run it all day or just when she's in that room? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
@jjtruffles I have the same pain, mostly when I'm bending over and I went to my chiro and she said it's because my core is week. I started working out and focusing on strengthening my core and it's getting much better!! My chiro said it's most likely the transverse abdominis so I looked up exercises to strengthen that.
@babycakesday We bought one when William caught his first cold. The first day we set it up in our living room and put it on full blast because that's where we spend most of our time. After that we left it where he sleeps and turned it on maybe 15 mins before bed.
@babycakesday - I would run it at night and then when he's in the room. Vicks on the feet is another good intervention for cough. Congestion also makes our little nose breathers miserable so def stay on top of boogers (if you have a nose-Frieda they're awesome!) -- husband brag: had a horrific day at work (ridic busy, no lunch, no pumping, 3h after shift) and DH sent me this pic on my way home:
Please note the rest of the wine bottle on the shelf :-D
@babycakesday we bought one when all 3 of us were super sick. We ran it all night. The other thing that really helped was when one of us would shower, the other one would be holding her by the shower curtain. The steam really helped loosen things up!
I'm tardy for the party regarding workouts. I tried working out at home. But I found myself getting side tracked with laundry and cleaning and DS and yaddayadda. So I started taking classes at the Y. They have a daycare there that I'm able to use for up to 90 minutes. I guess since I'm paying for the membership and the class I'm more motivated to go. DS isn't a huge fan of me leaving him but we're getting better...
On another note. I've been unbelievably stressed lately. I feel like I'm not getting anything done around the house. And I'm officially "that mom" that goes unshowered and bums around in sweatpants and spit up covered shirts while doing endless laundry. I used to get up every day, shower, put on nice clothes, and do my hair/makeup. Now makeup is a tube of mascara that collects dusts and gets applied once a month, maybe if it's lucky. It's funny how parts of my life have changed that I never thought would. I should probably glam it up for a day of laundry one of these days lol. My poor husband went from having a fit, well put together wife to...whatever I am now lol. Must admit though, if that's what my life is like and it means my son is well cared for, healthy, and happy then so be it.

I haven't worked out however on New Years eve we were at a friends house for a party, I decided to get out there and line dance...and I about died afterwards... 1 line dance and I was out of breath and my heart was racing...that has never happened to me before LOL. So.out.of.shape!

I hear you all on the working out. I'm still 10pbs up from my probaby weight and I've only worked out a few times. It's hard because I also work full time I have to get up at 5:30am if there's a hope I get to work out and usually my knees hurt so bad it's hard to do the squats that I used to love...trying though
@DachshundMomma I feel very similar to you. Prior to having my twins, I worked full time as a makeup artist. Even if I was just running to the grocery store, I had a full face of makeup on. Now I live in yoga pants and long sleeve tees. I've put on makeup only a handful of times since they've been born. I LOVE doing makeup, so it's been a hard thing for me. I just don't feel as "me" without it. But I'm also a new "me" with two infants, so I'm hoping to find a happy balance here in the near future.
@DachshundMomma Not sure if it would help, but I like, and get more accomplished, when I write out a small, but tangiable, daily to do list. I even write out make dinner, because I like to cross shit off. #realtalk On my daily list is is get ready. Some days that's a full shower and makeup, somedays that just means clean yoga pants, brushing my hair, and teeth. But for me, I feel better, and dare I say I get more done, when I take a few minutes to myself. And at the end of the day, keeping the tiny humans alive is enough in itself!
Just like that, 6 months has flown by, and I go back to work today. I've cried all weekend. Woke up crying this morning. M will be with the sitter we've had for 6 years, until my husband gets home. I've worked out pumping details with my coworkers and boss. Why is this so hard? Sigh.
@DachshundMomma Same here. I always had contacts on and did my make up before leaving the house and now I'm lucky if I changed my shirt. Plus when she's napping, I rather just relax and take a breather. I feel like it will eventually get better. I know my friend went through this phase when her baby was born. He's almost a year old and she's starting to get back to her old ready self.
