@AmeliaBedelia I'm so sorry to hear that. All the waiting is so heartbreaking. I'm glad you are standing up for yourself and what you want.
@kmallery08 I understand about not feeling hopeful about a cycle. That was how I felt last cycle but I did get more hopeful the days before I tested. I'm trying to not say that we are "infertile" or going through infertility anymore. I personally hate the word because it seems like it's saying it's a done deal that we won't get pregnant. I'm just saying that we are struggling to get pregnant. Maybe it's just me but it makes me feel better and gives me more hope.
AFM, I had an ultrasound this morning (CD 15) and I have 2 mature follicles (19 and 21) but also one at 16 and one at 17. Doctor wants the follicles bigger than 20 so I'm going in again tomorrow. My doctor considers 18 and above mature so that means 2 mature but the other 2 might be mature by the time I go in tomorrow. My husband and I have decided that 3 mature follicles is the limit for us to trigger/IUI so I'm hoping that the 16mm one gets halted in growth and the others grow above 20! I'm 9dp IUI and just saw some dark brown light spotting when I went to the restroom.. This is super early and i'm on progesterone. Isnt progesterone supposed to extend the luteal phase instead of shortening it??
@MrsH0204 FX it doesn't mean anything. Hopefully the progesterone is doing its job and the spotting good away.
@AmeliaBedelia1119 creepy internet hugs. So sorry your cyst is growing back. That had to be so frustrating to hear. Hopefully the surgery takes care of it.
@OGreat looks like we're 2ww buddies! Had IUI #2 on Saturday. Here's hoping the wait for by quickly.
Oh @AmeliaBedelia1119 I'm so sorry. That sounds beyond frustrating and unfair. Creepy internet hugs.
@MrsH0204 So two things came to mind immediately. Progesterone suppositories can sometimes irritate your cervix and that will cause bleeding. So it could be that. My second thought was implantation bleeding lol, but that is rare and from what I understand it's usually very very light pink. Hopefully this isn't a sign of impending AF, but just an irritated cervix. If it continues it becomes painful, contact your doctor. They may lower your dose or switch you to the oral form.
Thank you all for the support. It's been a rough few days, but my silver lining is that now I can drink through the holidays:/
I spoke to the doctor and we are doing the cyst removal. He agrees that if time is important we should do the surgery. I have the referral and will be giving them a call tomorrow. He said once that is done, I should be able to start a medicated cycle after this month of birth control.

@Katkirch - that's a lot of good follicles! I'm on injectables and still, not producing more than one at a pace pretty close to my regular cycle!
@AmeliaBedelia - I'm sorry this is happening to you. Glad to hear that they've agreed to what you want and are able to keep moving with getting it taken care of.
@kmallery08 - I know what you mean when you just have a feeling, I had that last month but I hope that your gut is wrong and everything works out!
AFM - I have one 13mm follicle growing and no cysts! Big improvement from last cycle. I'm really hoping that my estrogen levels are good and I don't get that phone call this afternoon to up my meds. They gave me a boost Saturday but said my levels were still good. We're really hoping I have the IUI by the end of the week...please keep growing follie!!!

@Katkirch Thank you! And Good luck today! I think you're right about the word infertile. I've tried to just say we're trying. Or be blunt and say we're doing IUI. I, however, am not a private person and am sharing my journey with anyone that asks. If you feel comfortable enough to ask if I'm having unprotected sex, I don't mind telling you I'm using the turkey baster method.
@JDW0325 We did. We had our US this morning, I did my trigger shot there in the office, and I go in tomorrow!
Thank you ladies for all of the support. Just today I've started to get some of the excitement back. The only crappy part of this cycle is DH most likely won't be able to be with me for the IUI. He's dropping off his part first thing in the morning, and then I go back for my part right before lunch. There were some scheduling snafus with the office and we couldn't get a time that would work for both of us. So super bummer. But, hey, it's something different, so maybe it's the something different we need this cycle. (That's totally messed up and I know it, but I'm trying to be positive.) We had one follicle on the left that was about 17, and two on the right, one was 30!, and the other was about 18.

@JWatt5 Yay for no cysts!! As for the 2ww, no plans to help keep me distracted yet. Work seems to be keeping busy enough that I don't even think about it until night. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Lol
@JWatt5 Yes, i know that I'm very lucky to be a good responder to the meds. I just wish that I would respond a little less and you a little more. It'd be perfect then. Fx that follie of yours grows to be nice and mature in the next couple days!
@kmallery08 Haha. I love the way you stated that. I've been telling lots of people too. I'm not good at keeping secrets. Awesome about your follies!
@laurad75 Sorry to hear about your negative. It always sucks to get that news.
AFM, Ultrasound this morning showed follies at 24, 21, 16, and 15 so the two smaller ones didn't grow in the last day. So technically only 2 mature (over 18) but 15 and 16 could technically catch up after trigger giving us 4. My husband and I have set a limit of 3 follicles for trigger/IUI so we have a big decision to make tonight. Any advice?
Me: 28 with PCOS DH: 30, TTC since May 2015 Started 2000mg Metformin in 8/2016 8/2016: Letrozole (4 follies) BFN 9/2016: Letrozole (2 follies), IUI, progesterone, BFN 10/2016: Letrozole (2 follies), IUI, progesterone, BFN 11/2016: Letrozole (2-4 follies), IUI, progesterone, BFN
@Katkirch That's a tough call to make. If you set a limit at 3, there had to be some really good reasons. I'd back and look at those reasons and see if you feel differently about them. It's hard, but try not to think about in terms of wasting/skipping a cycle.
@Katkirch Thanks! I'm pretty blunt and totally open with most things.
That's an incredibly tough call for anyone to make. As @persnickity said, you set that limit for a reason. Now you have to decide what you meant by three. Did you mean three mature follies, or just follies over a certain size. That's a question only you and your husband can answer. What outcome are you comfortable with?
At my clinic, each time there are more than two "mature" follies, my doctor gives us what I call the multiple talk. She warns of the risk of multiples, and reminds us that her clinics policy is to reduce multiple pregnancies to no more than two. I don't know your beliefs on that practice, but if you move forward with four follies, and all four take, that will be a conversation you may need to be ready for.
Whatever you decide, know that you're making the right choice for you and your family. Your health, your husband, everything.
If you want to hear what others have done... Last cycle we had four. One at 25, and the other three 16-17. We decided to go for it. It was a BFN obviously. This cycle we have three. One 30, a 20, and 21. (I mispoke earlier, I only noticed the counts for the smaller measurement, not the mean.) We are more nervous about multiple this time because the follies are larger, but we're still moving forward. That's what DH and I have decided will work for us, and we are prepared with a plan should there be multiples.

@Lexa H. like chartleib said, it's still super early. i've been itching to test too, but I'm trying to hold off until at least 12dpo (unless AF comes before then - i was spotting yesterday and feel like its coming soon). dont lose hope!
@Chartleib i'm a nerd and actually read those information packets the pharmacy gives you - it said if you miss one, to take it when you think about it, but if it's time for your next dose, not to double up.
@kmallery08@persnickity. Thanks for your responses. They were very helpful. I also talked to my sister who went through fertility treatments with her daughter so her perspective helped as well. We have decided to go forward with the IUI. The first time we had 4 follicles was our first medicated cycle so I feel better about this one now that we've gotten some negatives. I'm a bit nervous but feel excited about the chances.
I triggered last night and have my 3rd IUI scheduled for tomorrow morning!

AFM I am going to my sisters house for my TWW! Well, for a week of it anyway. DH has school to work on, and I have the week off for Thanksgiving, so I figured I would go for a few days. Only problem is that I suck at buying airline tickets, and booked a flight that has a 7 hour layover in Chicago!!! Who even offers that?!?! But, I am looking forward to hanging with my nieces and nephews. The only thing that will be hard is that my sister prays for us every night, so my 4 year old niece is constantly asking me "did you have your baby yet?!?!" even though I am always telling her there is no baby yet. lol. Poor girl can't understand why she's been praying for something every night and her Aunt isn't cooperating!

@laurad75 - Sorry to hear about the BFN. My last cycle lined up around Canadian Thanksgiving so we had to juggle and I was doing my first injection, hiding in the bathroom of my MIL's taking forever to try to get the nerve to just do it - then i make an ass out of myself and say "sorry I have the runs" to cover my lengthy absence before anyone even says anything. Embarrassing but funny.
@kmallery08 - if we have our IUI this month it might fall on the Saturday and it'll be the same thing, DH drops off his sample and I'm on my own for the IUI. I had a good meltdown about it on the weekend and he did his best to rearrange but cant do it for Saturday.
@OGreat - not gunna lie, I'm freaking out inside a bit. haha. I did get the dang call, upped my meds because my E2 level, while it did go up, didn't go up much. Its at least over 200 now with one follicle, it was only 13mm so there's time. I'm hoping and praying that tomorrow my E2 has gone up again and that follicle has grown!
On the bummer side of things - the endometrioma I have is getting bigger at almost 5cm now and surgery may have to happen. The U/S tech - first thing she said is oh your poor ovary - yep I know, believe me, I feel it every day. Follicle count on that side keeps going down, it's hogging all the room but I'm so worried about the damage it may cause when they remove it since these cysts don't just get aspirated they have to be cut or lasered out. The game plan was fertility goals first, pain management second so going in now isnt ideal. Plus the nodule over my bowel is a large concern and they'll want to do a full clean up since they are going in anyways. If I have to have surgery, my endo dr will probably have to do it due to how complicated it is, with a bowel surgeon there incase I need a resection which means a possible 9 month wait just for surgery. Trying not to get ahead of myself but reality is, its growing and the pain is real.

@JWatt5 Oh no! I'm sorry! I have had my share of medical problems, so I can sympathasize for sure. The only advice I can offer is to ask questions. If you're not sure about something, ask. This goes with IF treatment too of course, but when you're getting into things that have even bigger implications, you want to know going into it. I'm sorry for the pain and the wait, that's got to be a difficult anvil hanging over your head.
AFM - I got incredibly lucky today, and hubby was able to make it to the appointment!

@JWatt5 Thank you. I hope so too!

@kmallery08 Those follicles sound great!
@JWatt5 Yay for no cysts!! As for the 2ww, no plans to help keep me distracted yet. Work seems to be keeping busy enough that I don't even think about it until night. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Lol
@kmallery08 Haha. I love the way you stated that. I've been telling lots of people too. I'm not good at keeping secrets.
Any advice?

@lexa H. It is the worst. But stay positive! It's still suuuuuuuuuuuuper early!!!
@Chartleib i'm a nerd and actually read those information packets the pharmacy gives you - it said if you miss one, to take it when you think about it, but if it's time for your next dose, not to double up.
I triggered last night and have my 3rd IUI scheduled for tomorrow morning!

@Chartleib what time of day do you usually do your progesterone? Did you say you were doing anything to help with the TWW?
@Lexa H. hang in there!
@JWatt5 how are you doing with everything?

I'm super nervous this time, but only because DH might not make it to the appointment. He dropped off his portion this morning, and I go back in before lunch. They had some scheduling snafus right after I did my trigger shot and this was the only way to get it in without missing the window.
Dh has been in the room for all but one of my ultrasounds, and was definitely there for the last two IUIs. I feel weird thinking about conceiving a child while he isn't even in the room.

@katkirch - thank you
@kmallery08 - if we have our IUI this month it might fall on the Saturday and it'll be the same thing, DH drops off his sample and I'm on my own for the IUI.

AFM - I got incredibly lucky today, and hubby was able to make it to the appointment! He had texted me about two hours prior letting me know his meeting was dragging and he didn't see an out, but when I went to leave work he texted that he was too! Apparently he rushed the meeting, kicked everyone out, and got on the road.
@Chartleib Thank you for the support. That is exactly what I was telling myself when I walked out of work. I would have been ok if he hadn't made it, but I am super grateful that he did.

Question: When do you go in next after your baseline? I have read cd 11-13, but not sure. Is it flexible? I'll ask on Friday for sure. But I'm planning to be out of town the weekend of Thanksgiving and hope that doesn't mess anything up.

AFM follicle has grown and my E2 doubled (which is a big deal for me). They are going to up my dose just to keep helping the E2 and we'll see what's happening tomorrow. I think it's actually going to happen this month - hopefully Friday or Saturday.
