i just completed night 9 of stims and up to 56 shots in the last 2 weeks. Starting to get uncomfortable so hopefully we have some follies growing. Nervous for my appt tomorrow since DH can't come with, but hopefully it will be good news.

@JamieH2000 we are on the same protocol and it's the one they use for poor responders so RE doesn't know what else he can do for me. I'm also on day 9 of stims and so with only 1 egg he doesn't think any more will grow. I'm continuing meds until Sat, then trigger on Sun and IUI on Mon. In July I did IUI cycle with 100u of Gonal-F and had 3 eggs so I just cannot believe I'm on 40u of Lupron, 2 vials of Menopur and 300u of Gonal-F and I'm not responding.

@Hopeful_mom I'm not ready to give up yet! I've been reading a lot and I think there are different protocols. I am going to discuss it with my doctor on Monday. It's a tough situation because I'm being seen at the military clinic, fees are greatly reduced so if I switch to a private clinic, I'm looking at $20k versus $4k. They are also not in the business of trying multiple times with patients that may be more difficult. However, I think it may be worth a shot to try again. My chances are low for a successful IUI so I'm naturally trying to come up with a game plan.

@mandasand Looking at your profile, this is your first IVF, right? You could have just had a bad month of eggs. I don't think you should give up and that's unfortunate your clinic feels that way. There are a couple of different protocols for poor responders; you should try a few times before further evaluation. Sometimes people do not respond to Microdose Lupron. so sorry you are going through this!

@mandasand hoping the iui works! Hopefully, your re will be open to other protocols. I was told yesterday that Ganirelix has less of a suppressive effect than lupron. Maybe something to discuss with your re also. Would your clinic be open to work with you on more ivf cycles? My re suggested donor eggs after the second failed cycle, but I told her that I wasn't ready for that and wanted to keep trying with my own. She respected that and is willing to work with us.

Last night was day 5 of stims for me and I just went for my US and bloodwork. I have about ~20 follicles on each side but the tech said almost all of them are still small - less than 10mm (though 2 were big enough to measure) . At this point shouldnt more have gotten larger? I got the impression they should have, but the lady was in such a rush (there were 40+ people in the waiting room) so I didn't have a chance to go into any questions. This wasn't my normal office because they're closed on Saturdays so my regular nurse, tech, etc weren't there. I started out on 37.5 iu of menopur and 37.5 gonal f, but increased the gonal f to 75 for the past two days. Still very low doses, but we are male factor so my RE expected me to be a high responder.
Me: 30 DH:30 No kids yet DH: Diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in 12/15 resulting in right orchiectomy &one round of BEP chemo. Banked sperm prior to treatment. Not enough in storage to risk on IUI so encouraged to go right to IVF w/ICSI. Together since 2001. Married 10/2013 10/24/16 - Began stims (menopur & gonal f) for 1st round of IVF on high responder antagonist protocol. 11/5/16 - Lupron trigger. 11/7/16 - 13 eggs retrieved; 8 mature; 5 fertilized 11/12/16 - 5 day ET of 1 hatching embryo Beta scheduled for 11/28!
@lrynwnab yes it's my first round of IVF. I did one IUI in July. I've seen 3 different REs in 3 years. Back in 2008 I did 6 months of clomid. My OB has been telling me for years because of my low AMH and high FSH I need to see a specialist and do IVF. We went to 2 private clinics that wanted to charge us $24k and $30k. Then we decided to see if I could go through Tricare and discovered the military clinic. I was referred in February, got an appointment in March, waiting list for IVF in April, IUI July, and then they said I was next for IVF Sept/Oct. The cost is $4k. My RE said he was willing to "try" IVF but didn't have much hope for me. Now I've tried so he said I should use donor eggs. He sort of left it as my only option if this IUI doesn't work. Even though I have been through this journey for many years I am not an expert and I don't know the different protocols out there. I think of the doctor was willing to try something different he would have said so. So, now I have to force the topic and see if he will go for it.

AFM: I was not gonna test this round, and I was content with not testing til beta. But, upon learning about my genetic mutation, I now feel compelled to know if I'm pregnant as early as possible. If I need a blood thinner to keep the pregancy, I want it as soon possible. So I tested.... Thursday night I got a faint postive at 10:30 pm (very faint- like squint in the light but it is 100% there) Friday morning 5:00 am (not a lot of time in between) it was faint too. Very siniliar to the night before but the TEENIEST bit more blue. BUT I don't know if it's my trigger shot testing out or a pregnancy starting to test in?!? So I don't want to get too excited yet. Yesterday was 12 days post trigger shot and 7dp3dt. I was scared to test this morning but regret it now. I'm going to try and test this evening again (I think!). If it's postive tonight i THINK I'm in the clear of the trigger shot because today would be 13 days post shot. Eek! This is the earliest I've ever seen a line!

@mandasand so sorry to hear that! I'm glad you're looking into other protocols, I hope the military clinic will take time to hear you out, so unfair that they don't want to try another round.
AFM I finally have (tentative) transfer dates! Dr said my hormone levels look good and I can start on estrogen Monday, another appt on the 7th and then adding Progesterone on the 11th with a transfer (depending on how my lining looks) on either 11/16, 11/18, or 11/23. I'm so, so excited!!!

So my appt this morning went pretty well. I have a 17, 14, 13, 11, 9, 9, 8,8. Good news is we will likely get to ER... but may only get 3 or 4. I'm praying so hard that a couple more catch up to give us a little better odds. My estrogen went from 340 to 860, and I have heard that each mature follie can be like 200, so really hoping it keeps rising and growing! Staying on the same meds and going in on Monday, likely will be wed or thurs for ER. I cannot thank you ladies enough for your support and positivity. Still have a long road ahead but this is further than I have ever made it!

@JamieH2000 hey dont lose hope i had only 6 follicles and they retrieved 5 and 3 made it to blastocysts it only takes one i am getting ready for my fet i almost cancellex my cycle myself cause of the low count but decided not to and i did pretty good

@hoping4success- your story def gives me hope! I have always just been shooting to get to retrieval to just see what happens when they actually do the fertilization. I'm relatively "young" at 29 according to my RE so hoping my quality is at least ok. Tho I've had pretty bad luck in this journey so far for being young and healthy so who really knows what the quality will be like. I can't wait to hear how your FET goes! Are you doing one or two?!
@shauna43- they are keeping me at 500. I'm hoping things will pick up and keep growing... I think I was pretty surpressed this time (to avoid a lead follie), bc I have never grown this slowly in my past iuis or cancelled IVF. I can be patient as long as it works in the end :0) I just did day 10 and I have heard of ppl stimming for 12-14 on EPP. The big one just can't get to big before the others catch up!

@Jamieh2000 slow and steady wins the race anyway. I stimmed on my first ivf for 12 days. Im ussually a slow grower and my embies were slow growers too. I currently have 2 day 7 normal hatching blasts (girls) frozen and 1 day 6 blast. Anyway wishing you the best. Next appointment?

@Jamieh2000 i go tomorrow for another ultrasound. today she measured 20 follicles. prob some hiding. my estradiol is 1710. im on day 8 of stims when estraidol was taken today. i just took my 9th stim tonight. i got qty 2 8mm, qty 2 9mm, qty 4 10 mm, qty 2 11 mm, qty 5 12 mm, qty 1 13 mm, qty 3 14mm, qty 1 15mm, qty 1 16mm. we will see see tomorrow. thet havent told me when to trigger. also my lining is at 13. im feeling very bloated and sore. cant wait to get eggs out!

@JamieH2000 yes i know its all hard my re was def aiming for quality my amh is low so at my age she was for sure quality is on my side rather that quantity and it was correct usually she says obly 50% of eggs make it to blastocysts stage well mine were well enough over the percentage im transferring 2 excellent quality embroys and will have one left which is excellent /fair
@Kp214 i can only transfer 1. i had a brain hemmorage last dec so im very high risk. i basically had to jump thru hoops to even get this far. so im thankful i can even ttransfer . im currently on my 3rd ER. so these embies on this cycle im not doing pgs testing . we are going to see if the ivf is sucessful without taking tge sample of cells for pgs. my re said some embryos dont do well with pgs testing.

@shauna43 wow! Sounds like you've had a difficult journey. One will be good to transfer. we are hoping they make it to day 5 for biopsy and PGD testing. If they aren't good enough quality for biopsy, we will then have to decide how many to put back in.

@JamieH2000 don't worry too much yet! You would Ben suprise do how many can catch up when you do your trigger. They still have time to grow now while stimming, and then when you get your trigger it's like a mega boost to mature!!
@shauna43 my RE didn't want to PGS test either she said it isn't always necessary and soemtimes you can lose a good embryo in the process. But I know a lot of people who do test and get great results- I gues it goes either way. You are a strong lady by the way!! To Ben going through infertitly is hard, but to add the brain hemorrhage and the risk- I'm in awe of you and your strength!

My transfer was cancelled yesterday and they're going to wait until tomorrow. I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Its frustrating for my husband because he wants it to concrete, but i explained to him that it all depends on our 8 lil embies. This being our first time makes it hard too.
I went to a retreat for work Friday and one of the speakers spoke about chakras. The 2nd chakra is the reproductive one, represented by the color orange. I've never read up on anything like that before, but you better believe I will be wearing everything orange tomorrow for my transfer. Good thing it's halloween. I need all the good juju i can get!

afm, saw my RE this morning and she said i'm ready to trigger tonight. wow! this has never happened. i just watched some IM injection videos haha i'm nervous for the trigger shot. i have 6 follicles; 4 mature, one at 14 and one at 15 so i'm hoping those two get a little bigger before tues. morning. i have just one on my left ovary that is 26 mm. whoa. that one might be a bust but hopefully i have enough to do something with. she said if i have 4 that fertilize/grow, she would recommend freezing and testing them; but if there are just 2 of those, she would recommend transferring both on sunday. i'm trying not to get too excited but it is a big step for us.
@lrynwnab that is exciting! The smaller ones have time to catch up! Sounds like we have a similar game plan. Good luck!

@DDRGirlie that's a good tbing! It means those embryos are still strong and willl make it to a day 5 transfer. I know it's hard for hubby- my husband is the same way- but once they are transfered, it will be worth it!

@kp214 since I'm having cramping since last night I have a feeling AF will be showing he ugly faces tomorrow right on time!! U do everything right and it still doesn't work. I kno u all get it but it's still so frustrating. So my guess will be Tuesday for BW/us to see if I'm ready to start round 3. Hoping ur golden eggs r coming along well

@mandasand yes definately don't give up hope at all and neither should ur clinic. This is their first time at the rodeo and they full well kno everyone doesn't respond the same and need to give it another try for sure. I kno someone mentioned earlier this month could've just been a bad batch of eggs, it does happen. Good luck!!

@mandasand Looking at your profile, this is your first IVF, right? You could have just had a bad month of eggs. I don't think you should give up and that's unfortunate your clinic feels that way. There are a couple of different protocols for poor responders; you should try a few times before further evaluation. Sometimes people do not respond to Microdose Lupron. so sorry you are going through this!

@mandasand hoping the iui works! Hopefully, your re will be open to other protocols. I was told yesterday that Ganirelix has less of a suppressive effect than lupron. Maybe something to discuss with your re also. Would your clinic be open to work with you on more ivf cycles? My re suggested donor eggs after the second failed cycle, but I told her that I wasn't ready for that and wanted to keep trying with my own. She respected that and is willing to work with us.

AFM: I was not gonna test this round, and I was content with not testing til beta. But, upon learning about my genetic mutation, I now feel compelled to know if I'm pregnant as early as possible. If I need a blood thinner to keep the pregancy, I want it as soon possible. So I tested....
Thursday night I got a faint postive at 10:30 pm (very faint- like squint in the light but it is 100% there)
Friday morning 5:00 am (not a lot of time in between) it was faint too. Very siniliar to the night before but the TEENIEST bit more blue. BUT I don't know if it's my trigger shot testing out or a pregnancy starting to test in?!? So I don't want to get too excited yet. Yesterday was 12 days post trigger shot and 7dp3dt.
I was scared to test this morning but regret it now. I'm going to try and test this evening again (I think!). If it's postive tonight i THINK I'm in the clear of the trigger shot because today would be 13 days post shot. Eek!

AFM I finally have (tentative) transfer dates! Dr said my hormone levels look good and I can start on estrogen Monday, another appt on the 7th and then adding Progesterone on the 11th with a transfer (depending on how my lining looks) on either 11/16, 11/18, or 11/23. I'm so, so excited!!!

So my appt this morning went pretty well. I have a 17, 14, 13, 11, 9, 9, 8,8. Good news is we will likely get to ER... but may only get 3 or 4. I'm praying so hard that a couple more catch up to give us a little better odds. My estrogen went from 340 to 860, and I have heard that each mature follie can be like 200, so really hoping it keeps rising and growing! Staying on the same meds and going in on Monday, likely will be wed or thurs for ER. I cannot thank you ladies enough for your support and positivity. Still have a long road ahead but this is further than I have ever made it!

@shauna43- they are keeping me at 500. I'm hoping things will pick up and keep growing... I think I was pretty surpressed this time (to avoid a lead follie), bc I have never grown this slowly in my past iuis or cancelled IVF. I can be patient as long as it works in the end :0) I just did day 10 and I have heard of ppl stimming for 12-14 on EPP. The big one just can't get to big before the others catch up!

Have 3 NORMAL PGS TESTED GIRLS. 1 "INCONCLUSIVE" embryo still good for use.
7/8- Started AF and Estraidol patches
8/2- FET scheduled ( HUBBY BDAY!!!) and my clinic automatically uses EMBRYO GLUE!
8/2- Transferred 1 6AA pgs tested girl

@shauna43 my RE didn't want to PGS test either she said it isn't always necessary and soemtimes you can lose a good embryo in the process. But I know a lot of people who do test and get great results- I gues it goes either way.
You are a strong lady by the way!! To Ben going through infertitly is hard, but to add the brain hemorrhage and the risk- I'm in awe of you and your strength!

Found out I was positive for MTHFR Gene Mutation during TWW of IVF #4
I went to a retreat for work Friday and one of the speakers spoke about chakras. The 2nd chakra is the reproductive one, represented by the color orange. I've never read up on anything like that before, but you better believe I will be wearing everything orange tomorrow for my transfer. Good thing it's halloween. I need all the good juju i can get!

So I tested again last night on a dollar store cheapie--and it was postive.
Then I used the third test this morning (it was from the same pack I tested with on Thursday and Friday)--- it was postive and the line was much darker...
Today is 9dp3dt and 14days post trigger.... I think I'm safe right?!? Can I get excited? I'm nervous to celebrate and it be a misread

@Jamieh2000 that's so great! I feel like those others could catch up by wed. or thurs. i'm so glad it looks like you will go farther than you have before. this seems like the right time for the retrieval! good luck at your appt tomorrow.

afm, saw my RE this morning and she said i'm ready to trigger tonight. wow! this has never happened. i just watched some IM injection videos haha i'm nervous for the trigger shot. i have 6 follicles; 4 mature, one at 14 and one at 15 so i'm hoping those two get a little bigger before tues. morning. i have just one on my left ovary that is 26 mm. whoa. that one might be a bust but hopefully i have enough to do something with. she said if i have 4 that fertilize/grow, she would recommend freezing and testing them; but if there are just 2 of those, she would recommend transferring both on sunday. i'm trying not to get too excited but it is a big step for us.

@ddrgirlie- I agree with others, I think the delay is a good thing! I feel like the RE must be pretty confident they would get to day 5 or they would have transferred on day 3! How many are you planning to transfer?

@kp214 since I'm having cramping since last night I have a feeling AF will be showing he ugly faces tomorrow right on time!! U do everything right and it still doesn't work. I kno u all get it but it's still so frustrating. So my guess will be Tuesday for BW/us to see if I'm ready to start round 3. Hoping ur golden eggs r coming along well
@ddrgirlie- hmmmm didn't kno about the orange thing, guess I need to add that color to my wardrobe! I agree with others as well, I believe the delay is a good thing! Usually when you have more then 5 that are strong by day 3 they wait till day 5. May all of them keep growing strong!!!

@mandasand yes definately don't give up hope at all and neither should ur clinic. This is their first time at the rodeo and they full well kno everyone doesn't respond the same and need to give it another try for sure. I kno someone mentioned earlier this month could've just been a bad batch of eggs, it does happen. Good luck!!
